Nene Outdoors Campsite: what do users think?
Amber Walker: This is the second time we have stayed in a bell tent and again we had a lovely stay! The tents are extremely spacious, the surrounding area is beautiful with lots to do to keep children entertained, particularly the free parks around the trail and the water sport activites. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, the food at the restauraunt was delicious, the shower/toilet facilities are the best we have ever experienced camping and we will absolutely return again!
Neil Butler: Great campsite. Lovely people. Next to a lake, fire pit, super showers and toilets. Will come back.
nish b: Fantastic stay! The outdoor site has a huge area to walk around. There were 6 children in our group and we kept them entertained by taking the miniature train and hiring a pedalo for 30 mins.Talking to one of the members of staff, Devon, he explained developments taking place which will increase the activity range for children. The toilets and showers were clean throughout our 2 night camping stay. The cafe on site was really handy if we wanted to buy a hot drink. My family and friends would definitely return to camp here!
Paul Skipper: Great little campsite by the lake. Very peaceful. Facilities all good, toilets and shower lovely and clean. Staff were very helpful. We enjoyed our stay. Only negative was car parking. I drive a very tall vehicle so had to open the locked height restriction barrier to get onsite. Then the anpr car park system failed to recognise my vehicle, so although we had a pass for free parking, getting off site was a fiddle as well.
Catherine Chapman: The whole team went above and beyond when one of our little sausage dogs wriggled out of its lead & got hit by a car. The staff, public & rangers were all so kind (especially Devon, I think that was his name) and thank god the sausage was found safe & sound !! All thanks to the beautiful staff at Nene! From all our group we really can’t thank you all enough. Would recommend & will be coming back every year. Thank you all again 😊
Jenna Freihat: First ever attempt at camping alone with a 5&2 year old. Picked up a tent the night before and winged it. We could not have picked a better spot! Was small, friendly staff so much to do for free on the reserve and added stuff to pay for as wellHighly recommend, we are not making a camp box and will book more days for sure
Jemma Eagle: We stayed in the Bell tents with 3 adults and 3 little ones. We all had a fantastic time. Bell tents were bigger than we expected and the campsite was so peaceful with lovely views. The toilet and shower facilities were so clean and warm. The kids had an amazing time and we will definitely be back again!
Egita Davidane: We really enjoyed our stay at Nene campsite. At Nene campsite there is something to do for everyone, there is water activities, nice long walks and great play ground for kids.Food at their restaurant was delicious and at reasonable prices. All staff is very friendly and helpful,we will definitely be staying there again and I recommend it to others.
Lucy Roberts-Anchor: Lovely big tents, good facilities. Hired fire bowl which was a superb addition. Perfect situation near watersports and cafe.
Lesley M: We stayed in Bell tent plus a tent of our own pitched in adjoining Campsite. 4 nights August 2022. Only 30 minutes from home so ideal for short holiday with grandchildren. Park facilities good, easy access to reasonably priced watersports and cycle hire excellent. Helpful friendly staff. Overall a lovely week. Bell tents are looking tired and shabby though and at a cost of £60 per night I hope that the Trust will be considering replacing them for the 2023 season.
Bianca Bicknell: The tents were not in the best condition- many holes in netting and tent. I wouldn't say it was the best campsite. Toilets and showers were far away which wasn't ideal for children. There were no changing facilities for babies. We felt some of the facilities should have been included in the fee if you were camping, such as access to the water. We just felt there were excessive fees for everything and that didn't make it enjoyable. Facilities for camping were very poor. Had a few incidences with bad service from staff too. Very rude.
catherine macfarland: Absolutely fantastic views from this camp site. Clean tent and well spaced out.Toilet facilities are a bit of a treck especially of an evening. These were clean though.
Debbyanne Lydon: Myself and my two children stayed in a bell tent, with my friend and her two children. It was such an easy process from booking to setting up. The facilities are fantastic, and the tent was spacious enough for us all.The site was peaceful, with a lovely view, and plenty of space between the tents meant we didn't disturb anyone. The children had such a wonderful experience of being able to camp in one of their favourite local parks, and we would definitely come back.
Duncan Hooker: Only stayed the one night and did not have time to do any activities, but campsite lovely, right next to Gunwade Lake.
Rob Oakley: Great campsite with lovely facilities. We live locally and my family thought that it wouldn't feel like a break. But everyone really enjoyed it. It is wonderful to have such a lovely place, right on the doorstep. The toilet and showers were really clean and the firepit was great. The absence of electricity wasn't an issue, in fact it was great to disconnect. We will definitely visit again.
Lucy Evans: Lovely setting for an initial camping experience!
Kelly Hatherley: We had a fantastic time camping in the bell tent. Such a beautiful park, loads to do and great facilities. The staff were so friendly and helpful, and recommended some lovely places to go in the area. Cannot wait to come back again!
Nasirah Alam: Wonderful scenery and setting to camp. My only issue was a nearby wasps nest that would disrupt any picnicking as wasps were all over the food.Apart from that, walking the grounds to view a sunset over the lake at dusk and sunrise at dawn was an amazing destresser !It felt we had the entire park and Ferry Meadows to ourselves in our early morning walk. The chikdren enjoyed the new Fox's Play all to themselves.Toilets and showers were clean and a shirt walk from campsite.Already thinking of our next trip.
Lesley Edwards: Lovely time camping with friends and family on the bell tent site. Good bathroom facilities in the main building just off the site. Tents very spacious, everyone enjoyed the bbq and fire pit on site.
Donna Stephenson: Bell tent was big and in a lovely location. Wash room and toilet facilities were clean and spacious, if a little far away from the pitch. Very basic washing up facility with cold water which luckily for one night we did not need to use. It was a shame some of the other campers did not remove their cars from the pitch site or abide by the quiet curfew, very selfish!
Paul Tucker: Had a lovely camping stay by the lake at Ferry Meadows. Quiet, a stone’s throw to the cafe for a coffee in the morning, and walking distance to the start of the Parkrun if you’re staying overnight on Friday. Also the best, cleanest toilets and showers at a campsite I’ve ever used!

Rivermill Caravan & Camping Park: what do users think?
Jayne Noble: Just be aware, there is a good half mile of dirt track that is currently like a ski mogul run. The potholes are deep, numerous and unavoidable. Beware your suspension
Rebekah Dawson: Road to campsite shocking no more than dirt track, scrapyard next door. Showers worst I have ever used
Felix Mcmichael: A well kept and secure site in a pleasant rural location and a friendly flexible owner/operator, we would "happily" visit again. Clean if basic facilities and a bumpy access track but all reflected by a good price.
Adam Cowdrey: Can't be bothered to answer their phone.

Kay Head: Camp site was alright. The gated entrance was a huge plus, aside from the fact that a majority of patrons failed to heed to the sign that clearly stated to lock the gate after yourself.Electricity hookup was stated as suitable for tents but was more suited for a campervan setup. The shared facilities were kept clean by friendly and kind staff, only to be ruined by clueless campers who thought it suitable to leave their excrements across the seat and not flush or even clean after themselves!
Paul J Williams: Simple, clean and cosy campsite. Ideal for stopovers and for those who don’t need expensive clubhouses and amusements. Really nice owners who are seen cleaning daily..
Tony Pestell: A great campsite. We are going back asap to explore more of the surroundings..
