Motorpoint Peterborough: what do users think?
Thomas Memmory: I went in to the Peterborough dealership in between Christmas and New Year to look at getting a car, I had a car in mind and had seen it on their website so went over to take a look at it. I was met by Kelvin who was lovely and approachable and was very attentive. Thankfully I could have the car I wanted that same day. Later that day I go to collect my new car but Kelvin advises on inspection that the car I wanted to have had a scratch on it, but not to worry as they had an identical car which had done less miles. This wasn’t a problem and I was happy to take the other car with less miles. On further inspection though of the new car, Kelvin advised that the passenger side day light wasn’t working so Motorpoint (as part of their customer service and wanting to provide brilliant service) would order in the part, have it delivered to my home address and would pay the invoice to get it fitted (I live 1.5 hours away from the dealership, so that was the best option for me). I thought that is great to hear and proceeded to buy the car, and take it home that day.It has now been over 3 months since I got the car and I still haven’t received the part they said they’d order and deliver to my home address. Every single time I have tried to get in touch with Kelvin (dozens of attempted phone calls to the dealership which nobody ever seems to answer, calls to his mobile as he gave me his number to make sure I could get hold of him, never answered, emails upon emails, visits in to the dealership) I have been given the same “sorry we’ll get it sorted for you” response.What was such a promising start to this customer journey has now caused me so much stress, anger and frustration that quite frankly makes me want to send the car back to them and go buy another car from someone else. Not once has Kelvin or anyone from Motorpoint got in touch with me to provide an update on my issue, I’ve had to chase every single time, sometimes being on hold for nearly an hour to still not get through. I’ve left countless messages now and feel like I’m hitting my head against a brick wall.I would avoid using this dealership at all costs and only wish I read some reviews before going through my buying journey. They are snake oil salesmen and circus clowns all rolled in to one as they can’t seem to order a simple part but then don’t have the decency to keep me in the loop about what’s going on. For saying Motorpoint ‘pride’ themselves on their customer service, they’ve had an absolute howler with me, possibly the most incompetent filled and painful transaction I’ve ever had. And it’s not like it’s a cheap transaction. When you buy a car, you expect a certain level of service and I’ve just not received any kind of customer service throughout this entire ordeal.Upon reading other other negative reviews, I’ve seen Motorpoint reply with the same templated, insincere, unpersonalised responses. If they read this, please have the decency to at least tailor your apology to my case and not copy and paste from a template document saved in your folders.Ps, this only gets 1 star as I can’t give 0.

Craig Orsborn: Buyer beware!!!!!!!!Arranged to purchase a 2020 VW Crafter Van with just over 10000 miles on the clock, pictures looked good. Informed the vehicle would be pre inspected and ready to drive away.Arrived on site to find the side door of the van really (really) out of alignment with the rest of the panels and the rear bumper looking like it had been on a 10 year old vehicle previously.All in all an absolutely shambolic display of customer service and lack of honesty from a company who clearly don't care about the standard of vehicles they are selling or the customers buying them.I've read through the other bad reviews and it sounds like a similar story.No doubt this 1 star review will get the same copy and paste reply as all the others..... blah blah blah."Here at Motorpoint we strive to provide a 5 star customer service to all our customers, however this seems to have failed you on this occasion at the point of collection due to the miss communication.Should you wish to discuss this further please contact the customer care team.Kind RegardsDean Burton"No miss communication Dean just another poorly treated customer which has earned you another bad review for a badly presented vehicle, which again shows a real lack of honesty and care from Motorpoint.If this is kind of service you provide customers preparing to purchase a vehicle .... DearBexs: Purchasing the car was amazing, Nathan was AMAZING. couldnt fault him at all.what i can fault is the condition of the car and even after having two inspections by motor point who said the car was "fine" i took it to ford for a health check to only find out, it needs a break wash, new gearbox, new battery and there was a 10 inch crack in the window which motorpoint said would pass MOT, then for a test centre to take one look and say it would fail. This is a 20,000 car. i dont expect to buy a 20k car and have it for 2 weeks before its off the road and in the workshop.All ive had so far, is well its under warranty basically and they dont wanna accept fault,ive told them they can have the car back, give me a refund, but noo they wont have that.Warranty or not, i have so far spent 3 days taking the car else were to be tested, wasting my own time because motorpoint are too lazy to health check their cars properly.When i booked it back in with Motorpoint for the second insepction before taking it to ford, i was met with a very rude gentlemen on reception who told me that the work shop team are due to go home soon, so wouldn't assist me. Now i understand that when its their home time its their home time, but considering it said online the workshop doesn't close until 5 and this was pm, im sure they would have 10 minutes to do their inspection, instead i had to wait a further week for it to be checked, to then have then miss ignore completely what i said to check, i had to take the gent back out at the car and show him the faults.Wish i had read their google reviews before i went, i would never have purchased a car there.

Mark Patten: I have personally bought 5 cars from this site over the years without issue, and also brought some custom to them,Latest purchase was in September 2022, I now have a minor issue with the new car stero, it switches off on occasion which I assume is a software issue, motorpoint customer service contacted, got told my 3.months warranty was expired by about 20 days and therfore they were not prepared to assist,.no apology, no sorry, no offer to take a look, no offer to cover half,.no offer to investigate, just thanks for your previous custom but essentially 'tough luck', won't be using this company again, all about money and no regard for customers.

Visited Motorpoint Peterborough looking for a 21/22 plate VW Tiguan, Spoke to a salesman called Kelvin, who said he would source us a VW TIguan from stock, A couple of weeks later Kelvin had found us the perfect car, A 22 plate VW Tiguan with only 1,000 miles on the clock, Price £36,000. We visited the dealership looked and loved the car and asked Kelvin for the vehicle specifications, 3 days pass by nothing Received From Kelvin? Wife visits dealership again and asks Motorpoint to email the vehicle specifications, And PCP Purchase Quotation? 1 day passes by nothing From Motorpoint? Giving the benefit of doubt I visit dealership again on way home From Work I ask again if I could have vehicle spec and PCP Quote emailed over to me and explain that if I'm spending £36,000 on this car I would like to know all of it's specifications, and a Monthly PCP Quote. 1 day passes nothing comes back from Motorpoint? Now really losing patience my wife and I visit dealership again the following day and ask for vehicle specification and a PCP Quote. 3 days pass nothing from Motorpoint!! Went back in dealership straight after Christmas speak to Kelvin again who agreed we had severely been messed about, Kelvin then suggested he took us on another test drive In the Tiguan to try and figure out the vehicle specification as I particularly wanted the dynamic light pack to be included on the car, Kelvin was still unsure on the vehicles Specification so we agreed that 1st thing in the morning Kelvin would ask the question in the VW dealership that is situated 100 Metres away from The Motorpoint site. This was the day before we were due to go on holiday for 4 days, Kelvin promised us that he would Email over the specification and the PCP Quote the next day and before boarding our plane for holiday NOTHING NO EMAIL!! I Emailed Kelvin as soon as we landed on holiday asking for the Information on the Tiguan so as we could make purchase whilst away on Holiday? Kelvin ignored our Email!!! Returned from holiday went straight into dealership where Kelvin lied about sending us an Email, then informed us they had sold the car, and our car had severely price depreciated in a matter of 5 days!! avoid these clowns at all costs!! absolute time wasters without an ounce of integrity!! I will be posting this review on my company news letter to warn others about Motorpoint!!
