Opened in 1994, Mandarin soon built up a reputation for fine food and good service, becoming one of the best known Chinese restaurants in Nottingham.

The original restaurant was destroyed by fire in 2009 and was unsaveable. Alan reopened the new Mandarin Restaurant you see today on the corner of Hockley and Belward St. just 50 meters from the original restaurant.

We are known for producing a wide range of authentic Chinese dishes, using the best ingredients. This is what Nottingham diners look for and the reason why we have been able to welcome customers for all these years.

Another Mandarin speciality is the Dim Sum Menu, with around 60 dishes there is something for everyone to enjoy.

4worldlovers: The University Language Programme (ULP) provides a range of language courses to students, staff and members of the general public. You'll have the opportunity to learn a new language or improve your existing foreign language skills.

The language courses are open to NTU students, staff and the general public.

Booking processes and fees vary depending on the type of learner you are, to find out more about the courses we offer and book and pay online, please select the relevant option below.

Anyone can join our language courses. Choose from beginners to advanced levels and pay for each level at a time

You can study a language in addition to your degree. You pay a deposit which is refunded on successful completion of the module

Accredited NTU students are taking a language course as part of their degree, for example BA (Hons) International Business (with German).

Study a language course for a term or semester, including Business English (for non-native speakers of English)

Learning a foreign language is a wonderful opportunity to not only learn the language itself, but also to learn more about your own first language and yourself. It reveals different perspectives on life, enables you to see the familiar in your community, life and culture through a different lens of another culture and language. It facilitates critical thinking, asking about differences, looking for equivalents in your first language and culture and much more.

Learning a foreign language can also help with finding work after graduation – a certified level of proficiency can help you to distinguish yourself from other applicants.

If you're an absolute beginner, have some prior foreign language skills or are at an advanced level, we'll help and support you to build your ability so that you can communicate confidently in your chosen language.

Language skills can support your professional development or build your abilities for international work or travel. You'll be taught by experienced language specialists, many of whom are native speakers, so that you can benefit from an authentic experience.

Our language classes are divided into Stages. Stage one is designed for real beginners whilst stage six and seven are for advanced learners. Find out which stage is right for you, how you'll learn, and what you can achieve as part of your study.

You can validate your studies with an internationally recognised Certificate or Diploma in Language Learning. In some languages we also award UNILANG Certificates (CEFR) which are recognised across Europe and beyond.

Employers may require you to indicate your CEFR grade for languages in your CV when considering you for work placements.
