Carmen Lee: Hidden gem in Northampton, very good Japanese food with very fresh sashimi and sushi, the takoyaki were fresh and were crispy and soft as well and the teppanyaki was very delicious as well with the chef cooking in front of us! Waiters were very attentive towards customers and were very happy and cheerful. The songs played in the restaurant were j-pop and j rock songs which we happy with as thats what we listen to, overall the outside doesnt look like much but definitely should try restaurant if you are in the area!

Ben K: We have been to Akasaka multiple times and the food is always very good no matter what you order. They are able to customise the dish to your taste / needs. The staff are very friendly and provide great service.
Sick No: Ordered chicken teriyaki and it was terrible, chicken tasted like old plastic. Chicken katsu was not bad but the salad was poor. My fried squid tasted like balls of oil and mush. Not coming again
Jason Burke: As this restaurant has been established in Northampton since 2017 and we have never been, we decided to give it a try. We booked a table for 9pm on a Saturday night and were greeted by a happy and helpful member of staff. They showed us to our table which was right near the front door, which felt like it was in the waiting area so we declined that and asked to sit further inside which was no problem. When seated the waitress said "we shut at 10", so we knew then we had an hour. Thanks. The decor is a bit bland but spotless. The large tiled floor makes it feel cold and was really slippery to walk on. There were 3 other tables in use and seemed quite empty. The service was a little quick as they wanted us out within the hour and whilst we were eating they were clearing up around us which made us feel uncomfortable. I ordered the beef bulgogi with boiled rice and my wife had the chicken teriyaki with boiled rice. Both meals arrived quite quickly, tasted fresh and were nice. The portions were not too large and just right for us. We decided against staying for any desserts. The total price came to £43.90 including a glass of wine each, which I think is quite reasonable. Overall the experience was good and we will probably visit again.
Kritika Sharma: Went with my friends for lunch and the food was amazing staff were very sweet and charming. Also I had dropped my gold bracelet which was given by my mom , it was until the end of the day when I had called them to ask for it and they had safely kept it. The girl who handed it to me was very polite on the phone as well and I am very thankful to the restaurant for their service .I will surely be visiting again ❤️
Steve Johnson: Top Japanese / Korean food. Akasaka at their very best for food. Only slight downside was service was pretty slow, and restaurant wasn't super busy. But overall its worth the wait!Food: 5/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Daniel Goscomb: Pleasantly surprised by this Japanese Korean fusion. The gyosa we're particularly good and the selection of sashimi was the best in NorthamptonFood: 4/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 3/5 …More

Jeremy James: Pre-theatre meal, so it was a bit quiet. Otherwise a really good meal - aubergine & miso sauce starter fabulous, excellent kimchi, I had a bibimbap main with beef - very good. Service good, would go again.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 4/5Recommended dishes Dolsot Bibimbap …More
Jaleel Hudson: Visited here twice now and I'm always left wanting to come again! Akasaka is on my top list of places to go for very tasty Japanese and Korean food. The hospitality is always very friendly and the food is reasonable priced for the great taste. Looking forward to the next time I can come and dineFood: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Pumpkin Korokke, Dolsot Bibimbap …More

Zack: Great karaoke, terrible drinks, not sure what’s wrong with them but tasted like chemical and wouldn’t replace them with something less chemically. Even got bar staff to try them and clearly didn’t like them but would not relent. Had whole groups try the vodka but they clearly replaced it with something g else. I honestly feel ill due to whatever they were giving me in there. It’s either the Coke or the spirit but one or the other is messed up.
Loredana Dcn: Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Dragon RollMore
Sphor 100: I got to say, i didn't expect much from the outside, but for £21 I ate pretty darn well, i say 😂 (included tea too).Would definitely suggest.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
The Mighty One: Came here on a whim during the week, with my child and other half. Unfortunately there was no lunch time menu, what's on there this means that the same price throughout the day. Parking can sometimes be an issue as there is no car park available and you have to park on the Street. The entrance does have disabled access but I could not see a lift into the main seating area. The kitchen is pretty cool and has that Japanese feel. That is probably has been quite empty we got served very quickly. The food itself was great we had a bento box and some Korean fried rice with some tea. I would definitely go backVegetarian options: There are plenty of vegetarian optionsKid-friendliness: Kids are welcomeParking: the parking is difficult as it's on the main street. There is a mixture of paid parking and free parkingWheelchair accessibility: The front doors automatic that could not find a disabled lift to the main restaurantDietary restrictions: There is accommodation for all dietary requirements

Aesthxtic Studies: Amazing restaurant, great and quick service, we didn’t even book for the table on Mother’s Day and were a bit worried that we needed to , but the waiter took us peacefully to a table that was free, right away. The waiters who served us were very nice and friendly, he even gave us a tip that would have us save a bit of money, the food came extremely quick 😋 would definitely come again.

Beatka Korynth: Amazing sushi, always fresh and always prepared with care. Thanks for being extra careful when I made you aware of my gluten alergy.

Bee: Since moving away from Northampton, the only thing I have missed is YoKoSo, I live of it when I visit, absolutely fantastic. Both the hot food and the refrigerated Sushi are top tier, amazing prices, AMAZING. 100% recommend.
Notso Magic: Tried chicken and beef sushi for the first time in Australia yeeeeaars ago (yes cooked meat and no not together lol) as you can get it literally everywhere and so cheap and great qualityI've been coming in here for the chicken sushi for yearsIt's always freshly made, delicious and well presented with the wasabi, pickled ginger and soy sauceTried some of the gyoza too and again delicious they offered to heat them up tooStaff are friendlyHighly recommendedWill need to try some of the hot meals sometime
James Lovell: Tasty and lovelyFood: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Chicken Curry and Chicken Gyoza …More
Jack Young: Really nice little bento, food is amazing and always filling. A little expensive for what it is but really good quality, there is a £10 minimum spend for card which is a little annoying if you want to go by yourself but a really nice little place to go as a couple or group. There is little indoor seating but a fair amount outdoor. And servers are really nice, and understanding when you mishear them like I normally do.
Kimberley Candelario: favourite place to grab food. amazing katsu curry and udons
Abbie Kaur: Chicken Katsu Curry, Chilli Chicken with rice is my go to! It’s the best. Chicken gyros and chicken sushi are to die for! Love this place but little on the expensive side.
Reece: Nice chicken, but so little is given! 90% of the container is filled with bland noodles, and unfortunately prices are considerably more expensive than similar restaurants.
Heather Robinson: Excellent food with filling portions with a good price. I haven't tried any of the sushi but the mains and gyoza have been consistently delicious.
Jaden Lomax: I had the sushi and it was really good and potions were just right which is nice. My girlfriend had the sweet chilli chicken which was sweet and a little chilli although the noodles lacked flavour, would of been nice with a sauce to match the dish. Overall really nice and wish I had the place in my town, would go often
Tashan Palmer: In my opinion I didn’t like the whole experience from time you pick what food you want. And the food was horrible. I feel it awkward to eat the food with the fork and spoon. My spoon broke halfway eating the food. I will not be returning to this place.
Valerie Dicusar: It’s one of the best Japanese restaurant every, the food is always on point and it’s amazing. Really friendly members of staff
Mario Romeo Radulescu: Very good food
CT: So tasty and such amazing portions as well, my friends and I were just watching her prep our order and we couldn't believe how generous she was with each portion. The katsu chicken curry was really tasty and fresh, warm and slightly spicy. Rice was perfectly cooked- soft and sticky. People review saying its a basic menu but why need anything complicated when what they offer is perfect? Would hundred percent reccomend a visit and good for the budget too.
Stephen Cooke: Great food, reasonably priced.
Carlee McKeating: REALLY good takeaway sushi. Generous portions of salmon and avocado in the rolls with quality fresh rice at a fair price point. Staff is really friendly as well and will make the sushi you want if they've run out. An actual gem in Northampton.
Peter Brown: Been going here for a few years and the food is always good. Sushi a little basic, but perfectly OK if a little over priced, Hot selection similar but never had any issues with anything. Great staff who take care of food hygiene and clean environment. Service is always polite and now they take cards so no complaints. All good!
Mitchell Miles: Nice food. Nice staff
komamanga II: Came here from Bedford because sushi there is so trash and I'd make the trip here again tbh. Lovely little corner tucked away but lots of variety. Today I got in near the end of the day and got a box of avocado, and avocado + salmon combo. The avo+salmon combo was coated in... Like the sushi version of popping boba? I don't know what it is but it tastes lovely. My friend got the mochi duo all for a tenner. We found out that they use halal meat for their chicken too which is a plus as their chicken katsu curry smells divine! The owner/person who served us was very kind and sweet, and even added extra pickled ginger to my sushi 3 left me with a full and happy belly! I will OF COURSE be visiting here again, and I highly recommend that you do the same. Hopefully in future the store can get bigger for indoor seating because I'd def be a regular
