Marsh Industries: what do users think?
Dawn Clampin: I cannot fault Marsh Industries Ltd. They have a good reputation with their product and had we known, or had copies of the paperwork when the shared sewage treatment plant was installed, we could have saved ourselves from a lot of trouble and expense. Marsh on the basis of what we experienced and the fact that the company, not connected to them, voided our warranty, paid the final bill, when all we were seeking was confirmation that the warranty was now nullified due to the actions of the company that carried out the repairs. Also that if the company had contacted them, would they have been able to advise how to effect proper repair without damaging the unit. There are not many manufacturers that would stand by their product and customer in the world, let alone the UK like this. All I can say is what a stand up company and MD.To give some background and substance to the above, this is what happened. We shared a domestic sewage system with our neighbour which had to be replaced approximately 7 years ago. Our insurance companies paid for the installation of a Marsh Sewage Treatment Unit, along with our substantial excesses, which worked well for 4 years. Every spring we carried out emptying and services. After the first year the installer of the unit refused to continue servicing because their operation base was too far away and our then neighbours were put onto another company by them to continue the work.A short time after the installation of our Marsh unit, our village had mains sewers put in, but the neighbours at the time refused to allow the connection point to be put on our shared property. Soon after they moved. This meant we continued with the unit as the cost to join the main sewer was rather high. From the fifth year something seemed to go wrong with the unit almost annually, with something having to be replaced or repaired, according to this company. Last year was the worst the costs of emptying and carrying out repairs mounted up. The last expensive repairs carried out by this company not once by twice. They constantly maligned Marsh Industries Units, but only verbally and blamed their poor quality of equipment for the failures. In the end they drilled holes through the dividing baffle plates of each chamber to balance the flow and made no attempt to inform us or contact Marsh for advice.I could not believe this as I had researched Marsh Industries Ltd's Sewage Treatment Units and found that they were of high quality, with many accreditations and highly regarded write-ups.I cannot believe the negative reviews I have seen on here, but would certainly recommend Marsh Industries. Had we been given the paperwork by our ex-neighbours we would have known to contact them and they would have come out and repaired the unit under the warranty.Whether you are using a Marsh unit or not, always go to the manufacturer first and ask for advice is the important and costly lesson I learnt. My thanks and gratitude to Marsh Industries for answering my questions and for settling my outstanding account with a company that clearly is out of it's depth.Service:Septic system installation
Skepa 54: Positive:Professionalism,Punctuality,Quality,Responsiveness,Value

Larry Johnson: Critical:ResponsivenessA super disappointing experience.Suspected defective product. Originally received some pretty rude correspondence and then radio silence despite chasing several times. Still no resolution.Service:Septic system installation
Jess knight: Positive:Professionalism,Punctuality,Quality,Responsiveness,ValueHad 12 person treatment tank for nearly 2 years almost fault less but developed minor problem.Support is fantastic after a call to regional manager (Julie) explained how too fix and back to normal again.Thank you
matt reid: Helpful and friendly staff
Anthony Davies: Really happy with this company. We needed to update our sewage treatment system and Marsh Industries gave us complete confidence in their product which complies with current environment agency legislation. The area representative was knowledgable and courteous. He was also able to signpost us to a groundwork company who have installed the unit efficiently and expediently. Thoroughly recommend Marsh Industries for your off-mains sewage system.
JWC: As an installer of Treatment Plants, we have been buying products from Marsh for many years. Staff at the point of sale are always very friendly and helpful and often supply at very short notice when required. Sometimes the products need a slight alteration, and Marsh are always willing to oblige. The product itself is always delivered when they say it will be, they haven't let us down yet over a period of many years and we have never known there to be any damage to products in any respect, neither have we ever had any problems following installation. We have enjoyed working with Marsh for many years and looking forward to doing so going forward. John, JW Clark Ltd
John Baxter: If you want a septic tank there's no were else to go.
Liam Godstone: Not sure what the comments on other reviews are for - i checked on here first and wasn't hopeful of a good response, but my experience was totally different.I had some really strong smell problems, and I had an air pump break down after 8 months. But as it turned out it was someone in my house putting wipes in the system (thanks love!) causing the issues - and they immediately replaced the pump for me.Of course i'd prefer it not have broken down in the first place, but the response was good, polite and fast - and it's been fine ever since..Maybe they have new staff!
Simon: Absolutely disgusting the way they treat customers, had my treatment plant 8 months and it had packed up on me with a faulty pump. Was told it was my fault and wouldn’t even come out to look at what was wrong. Eventually got someone out which told me the pump came into water damage so it’s not warranted. Pump had no water marks on and didn’t look like it had any contact with water. I had to pay £130 to get it pumped out as the smell was getting so bad and have a new born baby at home. Couldn’t open any of my windows through the heatwave because house would stink. After calling numerous times and after about a month of the smell I finally got a new pump off them. Should of been resolved in a couple days bearing in mind it’s still under warranty but no I had to keep my windows closed and not be able to use my garden through the heatwave and pay £130 to get it cleaned out. Thanks marsh industries for ruining my family’s summer.Sort your customer service team out!! I felt like a piece of dirt on the bottom of there shoe, did not care about me or my family in the slightest.
Gillian Brown: Rain Water Harvesting SystemLast year I bought a rain cell from Marsh Industries which has only recently been connected. Within a couple of weeks of being connected the lavatories filled up with brown smelly water and the washing machine smelt too (all connected to the system). I complained to this company and the rep/managing director came out only to say that there was stagnant water in the cell due to the fact that it was not being turned over quickly.I believe it is more to do with the fact that I am surrounded by trees and an upward slope of farmland behind. However, bearing in mind that there was an initial site visit prior to purchasing the product why did he not tell me that the product was unsuitable? He saw the house, knew how many people lived there and a good reputable company should have taken everything into account and done calculations accordingly.I have since abandoned the system because I do not believe it is right for this property. The only valuable help came from a Peterboro based company who only sell rain water harvesters and have a designated technical department.I have wasted thousands of pounds on this project. It came with hardly any instructions and when my tradesmen contacted the company for help they did not know what all the components were and hardly ever rang back when they said they would. The only reason I have given Marsh Industries one star is because this review would not be posted if I did not. In my opinion they do not deserve any!
Raymond Bush: I had the pump fail on one of their pump chambers after 4 months in use. The pump is supposed to be warranted for 2 years. The first hurdle in customer support was being told that I had to return the pump to be tested, but I had to buy a replacement pump, if I wanted to keep the whole treatment plant operating while the pump was tested. As this is a prime domestic sewage system you have no other option. If they found the pump to be faulty I would be refunded the cost of the pump. The second hurdle in customer support was trying to get a response from the company about the faulty pump. The initial event occurred on the 2nd April, it is now the end of May. I have since emailed the Company twice asking about the faulty pump. So far, no response. I also found out that the air pump in the treatment plant does not carry a warranty by the Company.I hope this is of help to a potential purchaser of Marsh Ensign plant.
