Brighton Mapuranga: The museum staff is quite welcome and friendly, and I loved the museum layout and couldn't resist pausing for photos at every display unit. Lovely and beautiful paintings and head statues and a great preservation of British history. O, and they have a beautifully decorated section for young children too

78 Derngate: what do users think?
David Rimmer: I was a bit underwhelmed. Wish the house all the best, but there's not alot of Mackintosh there. Atrium is a bit glitzy too. But a nice visit.
Teresa Smith: Interesting house but very small and a little quirky in terms of access. Does have a tea shop but check in advance as they seem to do groups which means anybody else visiting is hard to accomodate. A little disorganised and quite a lot of stairs.Wait time No wait …More
Nicole Marshall: When I found out Charles Rennie Mackintosh had designed the interior of a house in England, I made it my mission to visit. What a fantastic find. A grade 2 listed Georgian house with stunning Mackintosh interior/architecture. £9 for an adult ticket, which included a guided tour...this took about an hour. A special thanks to Elaine, who showed us around and gave a detailed insight into the history of the property and its occupants. The Dining Room restaurant and a gift shop on site. Photography allowed. If you're in the area, this delightful historic property is well worth a visit.
Jan Foster: A gem of a place in Northampton. Having pre-booked tickets we were greeted warmly and after an explanation of how to navigate the house we set off. There were laminated sheets in each room but we enjoyed listening to the audio guide. As fans of Charles Rennie Mackintosh we were keen to explore and were not disappointed. The continued investment in 78 The Derngate will only serve to encourage repeat visits.

Suzie Coomber: We visited the house on Saturday afternoon and it was so interesting, very glad we went to see it. Our guide was amazing and had so much knowledge to share with us. We then went and had afternoon tea which was absolutely fabulous. Lots of savouries which we thoroughly enjoyed, and then came the cakes...delicious.Would recommend you go to both places and see this amazing hidden gem in Northampton.
Frank Rodriguez: Definitely a place to see if you enjoy art deco and Mackintosh design. I recommend the guided tour, very knowledgeable.Visited on Weekend Wait time No wait Reservation recommended Yes …More
Elizabeth Sayers-Birdee: Very interesting house, I would recommend you have a guide because they know so much
peter price-francis: Very interesting house, didn't realise that Bassett Loake lived here, until we visited 78 Derngate, thought that Remy Mackintosh lived there!!
Alison Tressler: Came today for a visit and although the website said open, board outside and the steet door open. Inner door was closed after numerous minutes of ringing the bell as the sign indicated no-one came to open the door. Very disappointing!
Alice Matapuri: Visited on Public holiday Wait time 1 hr+ Reservation recommended YesMore
Tomasz R: This is the single most interesting site in Northampton and beyond. Such a small space and yet a universe of artistic genius and fantasy.
Gillian Albany-Ward: The only house in England designed by Charles Rennie-Mackintosh. Owned by model engineer WJ Basset-Lowke. Truky amazing experience. There are also galleries and The Dining Room Tea Rooms.Visited on Weekend Wait time No wait Reservation recommended Yes …More
Graham Woods: Completely stunning house.A pilgrimage site for any CRM fan.Beautifully laid out and presented. Lots of thoughtful and useful information, and helpful, enthusiastic staff.
jean vines: Always enjoy a fiddle in B&Ms
Wendy Harrison: Lovely visit with very good guide. We went for the afternoon tea later which was lovely. Such a shame our visit was spoilt by a very rude .member of staff. When we asked where to go for the tea, she shouted " DON'T COME IN HERE FOR THAT" . we felt like naughty school children. Table for tea not ready, we had to wait 30 minutes,no point in booking as it wasn't reserved.
Matt J: An absolutely fantastic celebration of Mackintosh and Bassett-Lowke. Rob gave us a brilliant tour which was full of interesting information. We'll be back for afternoon tea next door ☺️Visited on Weekend Wait time No wait Reservation recommended Yes …More
Evelyn Weinstein: A lot of standing up with a guided tour, but very interesting.More exhibits coming later in the year. Will go back without a guided tour so I can sit when my energy runs out. Rarely more than 1 chair to sit on, and sometimes none.A view of the garden from the house. Currently locked as building work is going on

During the tattoo itself Mark was professional and consistently met the vibes by chatting with me, which made me feel calm and safe in the environment and provided solid tattoo aftercare advice. The tattoo came out incredible and I’m so pleased with it. The outline is smooth and the colours are vibrant. If you’re into neo traditional tattoos then Mark is your guy. 10/10 would book again with him :)Services:Tattoos,Color ink tattoos,Old-fashioned tattoos

scott williams: Great service, polite and helpful, great environment.Thank you.
Elliot Codd: Hired out the Lounge for a private party on New Year’s Eve which was a joint Birthday party. From booking several months in advance, to arranging decorations to offering bespoke cocktail tree’s - this was such an easy process and the team couldn’t have done more to help me feel at ease, especially with planning for 40 people to arrive at once. When I arrived we were taken aback at how amazing the place looked, the team had gone all out and followed through on everything they said they would do and more. All the staff were attentive, lovely and made sure nobody was ever without a drink. The cocktails have always been a great price at Fat Fugu with 2 for £10 and we expected that to hike up for New Years - but they didn’t and we really appreciated that.We ended up playing with their huge range of games that they provided, listening and singing to music until the early hours and going out with the team to watch the fireworks in the street at midnight for the countdown.Overall, I couldn’t ask for a better night - from beginning to end it was perfect and I can’t thank the team enough for everything they did in making all of our night one of the most memorable nights we’ve had as a group in years. If you get a chance, message them about booking for a private event. You won’t regret it.Best. Night. Ever.
Harry smith: Had a traditional tatoo this morning with Mark Mcilvenny, who was so sound and chill did a absolutely amzing job so happy with it, will definitely going back for more.Service:Color ink tattoos
Joanne Lippiatt: Went here for ear piercing. Everyone very friendly and the piercer is very professional. Reasonably priced and doesn't try to upsell.
Chris Mussell: The drinks, tattoos and staff are amazing. Super friendly environment and really helpful

PlutoBlueEyes: Great for all random needs! I found disco lights, grow crystal, puzzles, art supplies, stress toys, books, summer items and much more! Staff is limited as it is a small shop but the staff are very friendly! Expect a minute or two delay if the shop is being tidyed or restocked.
Angie Parsons: Rude short haired blonde woman, made me feel really unwelcome, will not be returning
Linda: Always get served really nicely in here...
Caroline Dilley: I could spend hours looking at everything, there is so much variety for a small location and I love crafts!! I was given a free football book at the checkout!
Stephanie Glazebrook: Prices are higher than others, despite its reputation. I visited today and the staff member was so rude, no eye contact, no hello, it took her five minutes to even acknowledge that I was waiting at the till, despite her stocking shelves right next to it, and when she did serve me, she clearly did not want to be there.
Mckenzie bryson: Good
Brian Roland: Nice staff
debby Shelton: This is a definite go to store for all your needs. Whether it's books crafts art equipment or stuff for school college or university you'll find it all under one roof and fantastic prices. Best on the high street. The prices are very competitive and the quality of the products is also good so don't be put off by price being good. Awesome gifts for parties for the children and adults alike.
Lynda pinfold: Nice products on sale but lacking staff
