Julie Dyer: The staff in there are amazing, they are so helpful and friendly. The breakfast is extremely fresh. The sausages have a lovely flavour and the hashbrowns and not greasy. I particularly like the ultimate breakfast.On our visit this time for breakfast they’re no eggs, so we couldn’t have fried eggs and had to have scrambled eggs. They’re waiting on a delivery.On the lunchtime menu I would like to see the half chicken as a choice for the special lunchtime special menu. On my last visit, I chose a burger but it was quite dry so I won’t be ordering that again. The chicken is amazing and I know you have it on the menu for after 5 pm, but I’d like to see you at lunchtimes.Parking: Free parking and lots available

Pete Barker: Vastly understaffed. Took ages to be sat. Had to call server over to take our order. Glasses for refill Took too long to be given out. Drinks tasted soapy. Food was OK. Angela Standcumbe: Usually a good meal but food took nearly an hour to arrive and whe it did, vegan burger was badly burnt, burger rolls were too toasted and the children's ribs were very chewy. I didn't think baked beans could be ruined but they also tasted pretty foul.The burnt burger was replaced fairly quickly but has made us think do we go again, which is a shame as the kids love it there

Sorrelle BF: Staff lovely and helpful with food intolerances. Vegan and gluten free menu. Nice food and coffee. Seating nicely arranged and great decor. Toilets upstairs. Seating outside too. Price for 2 mains (burgers) and 2 coffees was just under £30. We've been for breakfast here too which is nice. Good Vege options too. Unfortunately a few visits now it's not been great experiences. Certain options not available on menue and this visit the chips were oily and inedible. We asked for them to be changed and pretty much the same given the second time. Burgers were cold, prob being to polite we just ate them. Prob won't choose her again unfortunately, which is a shame as we love the atmosphere and staff are really nice but just shy of £30 for 2 burgers and not being hot and chips inedible is rubbish.

Lynda Davies: Doesn't look impressive from outside. Went there Sat evening when there was a 10 year anniversary party going on. I wasn't expecting a lot because of the party but couldn't have been more wrong, the young, slim dark haired server took us upstairs was very polite and helpful, I loved the decor upstairs, the food and service were amazing, nothing was too much and we were checked on regularly even though the pub was very busy. We will definitely go back and would recommend. We have had Sunday roasts there, again they were lovely

M.V.F. Zorg: Noteworthy details: Voor de buitenlandse mensen, hier kan je naar mijn mening echt de Engelse sfeer proeven. De mensen die er werken zijn erg vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Zo kwamen wij een paar uur te vroeg aan en konden wij kosteloos eerder inchecken. Hierdoor hoefde ons dochtertje niet langer te wachten op haar middagslaapje.De kamer die wij hadden gereserveerd zag er picobello uit en viel zeker niet tegen. Het enige wat ik persoonlijk miste was een kleine koelkast, maar buitenom dat kon ik er geen echte minpunten vinden.In de avond hebben we gezellig een borreltje gedronken en de volgende ochtend was het op tijd ontbijten, want voor de uitslapers, dat is doordeweeks tot 09u.Deze avond hebben wij er heerlijk gegeten. Er is voldoende keuze op de menukaart en het personeel zorgt ervoor dat je niet droog komt te staan. Ook zijn ze er niet gehaast en zijn ze in voor een gezellig praatje.De volgende avond hebben wij er weer uitgebreid gegeten en daarna nog een mooie poos na gezeten. Ook is de keuze in de drankjes (met en zonder alcohol) er erg ruim. En ook nog zorgde het personeel er weer voor dat wij op onze wenken werden bediend.De laatste morgen heb ik echt Engels ontbijt geprobeerd. Maar ik kwam er achter dat ik toch echt aan de andere kant van het kanaal woon, want de op typische Engelse manier klaargemaakte eieren, dat is niet aan mij besteed.En tot slot eindigde ons bezoek min of meer zoals deze begon. Ons dochtertje was nog bezig met haar ochtendslaapje en wij moesten eigen al weg gaan, maar de kleine en tevens erg lieve mevrouw zei dat dit geen probleem was en regelde dat wij konden uitchecken op het moment dat ons dochtertje weer wakker werd. De schoonmaakster kregen opdracht om onze kamer later in de ochtend schoon te maken.Al met al raden wij een ieder dit hotel aan. Van ons scoort hij op alle punten een hele dikke voldoende. Het personeel is erg vriendelijk en alles ziet er tip top uit.

Christopher Allam: My wife and I stayed at the Hopping Hare Hotel for 2 nights. The hotel was easy to find and several bus routes were available for the short distance into Northampton. Our room was clean and well equipped, and the breakfast was excellent. We did not eat at the hotel as the meal prices were a little too expensive for retirees - nor did "crushed peas on the menu inspire me! I prefer the garden/mushy option....pea puree; pea ketchup; crushed peas etc on the menu tend to put me off. Just my age! The other problem with age was no lift and all rooms up twisty stairs. We only had hand luggage for two nights but a longer stay would mean cases and great physical difficulty. The staff were great - friendly and helpful. The views from our bedroom was houses and old non- running cars - nothing that the hotel could do anything about.Walkability: Difficult to navigate stairs. No lift and no rooms on ground floor.Parking: Plenty of parking spaces when we went ... a weekend in April.

Sammy Meldrum-Lester: Had another excellent meal here on Friday the 19th of May. We were worried that we wouldn’t get a table as we forgot to book and it was 17:30pm, once inside, we were greeted with a smile and seated straight away. I do advise booking in advance though, as it was full within half an hour. We got lucky….. Our waitress was Mira, she is an absolute gem and considering how busy it was, she made sure we were happy with everything and that we had a really good time. The food was fantastic again and I really can’t find fault, service was slower than previous times, but like I said, it was extremely busy and all the staff did brilliantly in delivering as fast as they could.Will be going back for sure, this is now one of our fave places to go and definitely does the nicest Mexican food for miles… We come from Bedford as its our nearest and its worth the travel.Vegetarian options: Very good selection for vegetarians, my husband is a veggie and he was more than happy with the choices and he liked that you could choose your spice level.Parking: Parking is great, car park outside and plenty surrounding.

The Mighty One: Came here after a trip to the cinema to see the Mario brothers movie (history will remember this date). Pretty child friendly and access was easy enough with pedestrian crossings all the way to the restaurant. The doors were pretty heavy so kids did have a hard time opening them (but then again they are not meant for kids to open).Once inside we were given the option of where to be seated, we chose the back of the restaurant. Kay Palmer: A table of 11 people had a meal last Saturday. We were served by Saskia who dealt with some very complex dietary requirements. She took their orders first and made sure that there was nothing in the ingredients that would be harmful to them. This is the first time that a waitress has taken such care. Rosie Ansell: I love this cafe! They have good, hearty food, a vast selection of desserts, and the staff are so accommodating. I like to go here when visiting Billing garden centre and the surrounding shops. You can sit inside, outside or even takeaway your food :)Dietary restrictions: On the occasions I've been there I have noticed they often have vegan and gluten free options of their cakes/desserts. I'm not sure on their other food but they do great baked potatoes with various toppings which would be good for many dietary restrictions.

Laura Boyle: I hosted a family party for my mums 60th birthday on Saturday and absolutely recommend this venue for a special event.The planner made the event stress free.The venue was absolutely beautiful.The food was just delicious, especially the pork sharing boards.Really family friendly too, with little ones I was expecting to leave early but we all had such a great time my toddler was happy to stay and be entertained by the band and the bar staff.

Primal Fitness Hub LTD: Hosted my mum's 60th here this weekend and we were all so blown away by the spectacular service, food and beautiful venue.All our guests were so happy with the delicious food.They really helpful in the planning phase of the party and made it look so beautiful. It was also really child friendly as we had lots of little ones and they were made to feel very welcome.I would definitely have a party here again, it would make a beautiful wedding venue and can't wait to come back for one of their pop up events. Martyn: Visited for a family birthday party at the weekend . The venue is beautifully steeped in character and history. The bar staff and servers were excellent and very attentive. Enjoyed the food very much, a delicious mixed starter selection, 3 meat roast and lovely desserts (the profiteroles *chefs kiss*). The church specially catered for allergies with no hassle too. I was especially impressed with the staff who made sure everyone glasses were topped up and were all very friendly and so good with the families children. Cannot recommend this venue enough.
Andrew Power: Came for valentines dinner last year (2022) and had a brilliant evening and dinner so was looking forward to attending a family party this weekend. It couldn’t have been more different however. It seemed under staffed and disorganised with the staff having no clue what was going on. They seemed to have none of the wines we wanted and the food was bland, luke warm, and just thrown on the tables to help ourselves too. Such a let down compared to our previous visit. I’ve never seen somewhere go downhill so quickly

John Churchman: Christmas day banquet for 8 in my party, rooms decorated beautifully and staff worked hard throughout, however one of my guests was vegetarian and her main course was ruined , two uncooked potatoes , three tiny hard Brussels and veggie gravy as requested turned out to be port gravy.All other veggie options were on same plates as other stuff and plates for the main course were ice cold.Will certainly not book again, our Christmas day was spoiled.

They definitely needed more staff on for such a big night as the food service and bar was slow, but that was my only gripe. 👌

Nicola Barrand-Haig: A great Wedding venue, for day and evening, we attended just the evening do of a Wedding recently, when you walk in the main front door the bar is at the end of the room, to your right there is a small corridor where the toilets are, and then you walk through into the main room which is a fair size and has a mezzanine floor to the rear. The lighting is ambient and lights up some of the stained glass windows - especially above the bar. (Paid) Parking is in the main Commercial Street car park which is a short walk away.

Natalia Bolechowska: Best venue in Northampton for a wedding reception! We were immediately drawn to it from our first meeting. Laura was a star, she was very professional and knowledgeable, which helped us put our minds at ease, as we knew we were in good hands for a stress-free wedding. The managers agreed to all of our demands, and the whole team couldn't have done more to make our big day perfect. We were very pleased with the food choices, enjoyed a menu tasting evening (which was included in the venue price), and loved the fact we could modify the menu for our guests (vegan options were also included at no extra cost, which was a big help). The chef is amazing, he did an incredible job. All of our guests were very impressed with the quality and taste of the meal. The in-house DJ was fabulous, as he agreed to play our songs, and was listening to our guests' requests, which resulted in everybody being on the dancefloor and having a great time throughout the night. We couldn't have asked for a better place to hold our wedding reception. Thank you so much again to the whole team - you are all amazing!Najlepsze miejsce na wesele w Northampton! Sue Smithson: Went to a medieval banquet here tonight. Had a lovely time with a couple of friends, food was really very good and plentiful. Entertainment was good too. It might not be everyone's cup of tea but we had a very good time and would definitely do it again.

The building is amazing, and it worths visiting. However, I'd say the food wasn't amazing, and it was just "okay", with good presentation but no flavour. Considering the type of restaurant, I was expecting more of it. So, in general the experience was good, but I felt a bit disappointed with the menu.
