Steve M: Went to Sheinman on recommendation from my neighbour, after years of going to Specsavers. The upstairs areas and examination rooms are not as nice as expected from the downstairs. The examination although far mote expensive it was not as extensive, i.e. no perspective test, and not as thorough looking into the eyes. Also didn't really like the snooty attitude of the reception staff. Didn't buy glasses. Will be going back to my usual.
jacqueline roye: I had such a very good experience at Scheimans. I am on vacation here from Canada and realized when one of the domes on my hearing aid split, that I had left extras at home. I went in a few places with no luck until I came to this lovely friendly place. I was told Pete Black would see me in 10 minutes. He didn't have the actual one I needed but went out of his way to get me fixed up. 5 stars are well placed Thank you so much. You guys saved me a lot of frustration

Karen Glazebrook: Been coming here for 40+ years. Very friendly staff, nothing is too much trouble. I've popped in before to sort out my nose pads on my glasses and they always fit me in and adjust them as needed. Just really good attentive service.
Lesley Warren: I spent £850 on a pair of glasses, I told them I didn't want varifocals, but that is what they gave me in the end. Totally useless as I can't read a thing out of them. In the end a total waste of money and am now using a £2 pair from wilkos' Also spend £500 on a pair for my husband, he has since died so as no use for them. £1500 and a total waste of money. Just wanted a pair that I wouldn' have to keep taking on and off again.
Ben Brown: Been using Sheinmans for 30 years - not the cheapest but when it comes to eyesight I think they're worth it! Their Eyemap system is excellent. Good customer service
Mixed Mitchell: More like Shameful Opticians.Putting spikes on the window sills outside to stop homeless people sitting or even sleeping along them at night times is despicable!!Then trying to condone it by saying it's to stop skaters?! I'm telling you now, boarders can still grind those spots. It's obviously to keep homeless away!

Marion James: I have only just used these for the first time and so far the whole experience has been absolutely fantastic. From how you are greeted through to having the test everyone is extremely friendly and helpful. The optician was also able to diagnose and start treatment on an eye condition that already feel miles better than it has in years. Makes me wish I had moved to them at least 5 years ago. The range of frames is huge including some customised options so whatever happens you are guaranteed a good fit. There is a frame for everyone in here with a good range of prices so if you do pick up a frame and think "how much" don't worry there is a variety and you will find something to suit your budget. A few days after my test I returned to try out some frames and that also was the best fitting that I have had. The chap that was helping me was really helpful and knowledgeable about the correct fitting. He didn't rush me at all he just sat me down with a nice cup of tea at a vanity station and brought me a selection of frames and then went back and forward until we found some I liked. He wasn't afraid to say if they looked bad and was happy to take pictures so that I could see what I looked like when I put my glasses back on. I could definitely recommend them to anyone who likes a friendly, knowledgeable and quality service.

Nicki Ewbank: Had a great experience with Tompkins Knight today. I broke a temple leg on my Maui Jim prescription sunglasses and my normal optometrists said they were out of Warranty and the style was old so I wouldnt be able to have a repair. After Googling parts for Maui Jim sunglasses I found Tompkins Knight in Northampton could still order parts! Two days later they called to say the new leg was in, I was so impressed by their customer service. Lynden fitted the new temple leg in minutes at no cost saving me a £700 cost of a new pair of Maui Jim's at my current optometrists! Thank you so much Tompkins Knight ! Such great service I am now questioning my allegience to my current optometrists for the last 20years why they couldn't do what Tompkins Knight have done for me ! Great car parking facilities too.

Wayne Sibthorpe: "Wow what an amazing experience. I came here today with my partner who has advanced kerataconus. We met Brian and the team who really are at the cutting edge of improving quality of vision to people with kerataconus. My partner up to now has only been able to wear one lens in her right eye for only a few hours at a time (as its too uncomfortable). With virtually no vision in her left eye. On her first consultation she has managed to wear some trial lenses in both eyes to read a number plate. Seeing this is the first time in 15 years she has seen anything close to normal especially in her rleft eye ,it is nothing short of a miracle. They are also super comfortable She still has someway to go yet with her new scleral lenses having to be custom made in the States before fitting. She is well on the way to an increased quality of wear. A massive thank you to Brian and the team. Its definitely worth the trip if you suffer from this debilitating condition. Don't hesitate highly recommended and at the cutting edge of technology in Europe. Great coffee too. Amazing !

I was recently recommended to TK&S after my vision had deteriorated, I have always worn glasses throughout, within an hour of being assessed for scleral lenses, my vision had gone from blurry to pilot level, l honestly was so overwhelmed with emotions, i honesty could cry with joy. This is the most incredible thing to happen to me and i don't know why nobody recommended me lenses before, Forever grateful and keep up the amazing work you do.
Ruth Wells: I was recommended to go this opticians by my tutor at University as I was struggling with some of the academic work and getting lots of migraines. I wasn't really sure what I needed to be assessed for and Debra Grant was amazing she called me and talked me through what she did and what she would be looking for in the assessment, explained all costs and timescales etc. At my appointment all of the staff were wonderful and very kind. I was diagnosed with binocular vision and Debra advised that I get a new pair of glasses to aid my eyes to work correctly, then to come.back in a few months to see if vision therapy would be therapy would be beneficial. After the appointment I was supported to find some frames that fit me well and given a breakdown of costs for different frames and lenses. The glasses arrived quickly and I have noted a remarkable difference. I have had no headaches at all since the new glasses, I am doing better at University and reading feels like much less hard work. Honestly, TK opticians have changed my life! Couldn't recommend them highly enough! Anybody struggling with dyspraxia, dyslexia, brain injury etc, go and see Debra, she is a miracle worker!

Charlotte Yarker: Fatima at the Northampton clinic went above and beyond to help me. Northampton is an ideal location for those who live in Midlands and East Midlands, without the stress of navigating into a big city like Birmingham or Coventry. The only downside is that it has limited opening hours, otherwise I would have used it for all of my appointments.

Sonia Eaton: Really good. Everything was explained, had loads of chances to ask questions. Both Northampton site and Milton Keynes where I had the operation was super clean. Sajad, who did the procedure was very informative, walked me through it, talked throughout to reassure me and make sure I knew what was going on. Made the whole thing so much easier as I was super anxious. Patema at the Northampton site for my eye checks was also very helpful and looked after me. Highly recommended. Price is totally worth it. After the operation there is some pain and was hard to open my eyes for a few hours, but after a good nap I could see and it eased up fast. The following day my vision was so good. Much clearer. Month later I still catch myself thinking I have contacts in because my vision is so clear. The red in one eye faded within a week, in the other its lasted a bit longer but it doesn't hurt or interfear with my sight at all, just get a few comments of people noticing. The op itself was so quick. Spent more time in the waiting room with a nice cuppa tea, chatting to other patients! But even the wait was pretty fast. They do so many different tests and check to make sure everything is okay you really feel like your in safe hands. If you're putting it off because you're worried, just go for it, best choice I made was going with optical express.

The company are only interested in money not customer care , my wife was booked in to have surgery done , on a Sunday and return to the clinic on the Monday , for consultant to inspect the work he had done , , so 2 days max , now they have said 1 eye on the Saturday then the other on Sunday , and return on the Monday , we signed up , to have the work done in 1 day ,, this is the 2 nd time this company have let us down back in 2018 they done the same ,, I would not trust them with your eyes never mind making a booking , go elsewhere ,,

Lee Willers: Absolutely brilliant! 24 hours after surgery and I feel amazing! From the initial appointment Nadia was honest and put me at ease with all her knowledge and I couldn’t really say no when I found out I was suitable for the treatment. The procedure itself was less than 10 minutes I think and totally painless. I was there about 1 and half hours on the day of the surgery. All very slick and professionally organised. Really really please with the results. And today, just 24 hours after the surgery, I’m told I have better than 20/20 vision. Actually feel quite emotional saying this😁Thanks to everyone involved. You’ve changed my life.
Tony Pratt: I went for a consultation yesterday to explore the possibilities of having laser surgery or lens replacement surgery on arrival i was warmly greeted and asked if i would like a coffee (really good coffee) after some form filling I was escorted to the upstairs waiting room(noisy steam powered lift) I was called into another room for some more form filling and a few eye examinations then settled down with a magazine for 20 minutes or so the optometrist called me in and started the more detailed eye examinations and informed me of all the possibilities and restrictions i haveAll in all it was a really good experience i now have some options to considerOh nearly forgot the coffee is very good definitely worth having a second cup

All the staff were welcoming and friendly & went out of their way to make sure that I knew exactly what to expect with each test and why they were doing it. All my options were explained to me in detail by the optician. I felt that everyone had been very thorough and I left feeling very confident and excited about my up-coming surgery. As I'd had eye drops to dilate my pupils, Nadia took the trouble to phone me this morning to make sure that my vision had settled. A really impressive experience!

Ali Evans: Anstee and Proctor have been mine (and my children’s) opticians for years and I have always found them to be knowledgeable, professional and caring. They are friendly and easy to talk to and listen to any concerns you may have. They also go above and beyond to explain something you don’t understand. They understand budget constraints and find a solution so that you, the customer, are delighted with their service and products. If you want to see the best opticians in the area then pop in to see them for a chat. I cannot recommend them all highly enough!

Even though I no longer live in Daventry, I return every year for my eye test. The environment is calm, efficient and always incredibly welcoming. Customers are treated like valued guests, not just "another person to get through". The service I have received over the years is always exemplary and faultless. Maybe you pay a bit more than you do at the chain competitors, but the quality of service and product is what has kept me coming back.

Laura Broadbent: I decided to try this opticians as the reviews are amazing. They were very friendly and professional. It cost £85 for an eye test. The optician told me there wasn't much of a change in my prescription so it was up to me if I wanted new glasses. The lady was very helpful finding some glasses that suited me. When I saw they were £120 I thought that wasn't too bad. I was then told it was an extra £130 on top to have a coating put on them. I said I didn't want that and just wanted the glasses, she said this wasn't an option. I said I would leave it then, but felt pressured to place an order, I felt very uncomfortable. When I got home I phoned up and asked to cancel my order, they let me cancel my order thankfully and refunded me the £50 deposit.
John Pinder: I was sceptical about how much of an improvement these, my first set of prescription glasses, would be over my £5 reading glasses but, after a thorough test and extensive interview on my exact requirements, I am now seeing the world in a whole new light.
