Grendon Lakes: what do users think?

Suzie Coomber: Went here for an evening igloo dining. Great fun and the igloos made for a fantastic atmosphere. Food was lovey and service was great.

Villan Chris
Villan Chris: Recently we spent a weekend camping at Grendon Lakes with some friends. The site is set in 20 acres of the very picturest Northants countryside.Grendon Lakes is comprised of 12 lakes, with 2 been used for watersports and 10 are for fishing. You can paintball or do some water sports which do have to be prebooked online. The clubhouse overlooks the main watersports lake and inside you'll find a fully licensed bar and restaurant which is open Friday to Sunday, it also holds Wedding in a permanent marquee. The cost to camp is reasonable priced and the pitch size is good and that concludeds the positives.Sadly however the shower/toilet block is disappointingly small with limited hot water for showers and only one sink for washing up!! which is just not adequate to cater for all the campers.Even though there is a policy that noise level should be kept to a minimum after dusk, this is sadly not inforced as lould music was heard played till after 2am.There is dog kennel close by so you can hear the echoy sounds of the dogs barking most of the time.So to conclude with some investment improving the facilities and enforcing their policies it would be a an outstanding site that more people can enjoy.
Lisa Marie
Lisa Marie: Nothing on site to do except for a club house open at weekends staff seem more interested in booking weddings than the campers on site toilet blocks poorly maintained and showers mostly broken plus the staff like to come round at 6am on a noisy tractor to empty 2 8ft tall glass bins making as much noise as possible next to your tent
Jade Bond
Jade Bond: This was our first experience of touring, on first impression the site was lovely and looked very peaceful. We drove to the club house to check in, I was given a EHU pitch on Gerald's pond, I said it was our first time experiencing it all, I wasn't told where to have my car or which side to keep, wasn't informed of the waste point. We parked up and got set up, as I was unsure of spacing ect I went back to the club house and asked, I was greeted by a different lady who was a lot more pleasant, she advised there was no one else booked on and I would be fine. The grounds are lovely and very picturesque. It looks very tired in places, the dome overlooking the lake, the club house and the toilet cubicle. We used the aqua park on site which my kids loved and £20 an hour I thought was reasonable, we visited Irchester Country park and its beautiful well woth a visit. There is a tesco about 12 minutes drive away which is handy, there are lots of little country parks around if you want to go out.The toilet cubicles were disgusting and this isn't because of the owners this is because of other campers not having any respect for others, there are toilets rolls provided which were shoved in one toilet so it was overflowing with toilet paper! Point of that is? There was things left floating in the toilets because ladies couldn't be bothered to flush them! yes they do have spiders in but i expect that its an outside toilet block. If i was the owners i wouldnt provide toilet paper, people wouldn't put a whole roll of their own toilet paper in a toilet and block it up! There was a family with 2 dogs next to us, I also had a dog. My dog was tethered up or on a lead at all times. These dogs were not, while you could see they were friendly it caused a nuisance to my dog, they were running over to my van and awning causing my dog to bark. It states that dogs should be on leads, I feel the owners should be monitoring it better, my baby nearly picked up poo that hadn't been picked up! The club house is only open at certain times and said it offered ice creams light snacks and drinks. My children went up to get ice cream and they didn't have any, we hadn't planned on using the club house but it would have been nice if they had the things they advertised. If you want to go away and just be in your van or tent this is a lovely place to stay except the toilet facilities. It's a very minimalist site. I'm happy with how our first trip planned out
anna bell
anna bell: This place could be outstanding. The grounds and setting are lovely however the facilities and lack of concern from the owners makes for a pretty ropey site. The toilet block (only one) was grotty with no locks, cobwebs and unreliable showers. The clubhouse and bar are only open at weekends. There are showers (which are lovely) in the clubhouse but we could only use them after the watersports and when we did they were full of washing from the glamping tents! This seems to be where the owners put their energy. The weddings and glamping seem to get good reviews. The campsite falls well short. We did have a good week as we made the most of what's on offer in the area and we were with great friends. We recommend Irchester Park, the splash park at Wellingborough, swimming in the River Nene near Oundle and booking into the watersports through Extreme Wake run by another family on site. We did paddleboarding and the aqua park. This was well run and the family were very friendly.I think that the campsite has potential but when people camp these days they expect the owners to be visible and available, good shower and toilet facilities, an onsite shop and children's play area. The clubhouse is a gift and should be open all week from June to August. Surely then the place would be buzzing. If you just want a field and no facilities go here. Holiday saved by the fact that we did lots of fun things with fun friends.
Amelia Filson
Amelia Filson: Me and my family stayed there for one night and it was beyond disgusting. The tents had minimal bedding and very obviously hadn't been cleaned in a while as there were huge spiders in them when we arrived. The hot tub smelt like sewage water when we woke up the next morning so the kids weren't allowed in it . Also the gas hob did not work when i tried to use it. The only nice thing about this glamping site was the nice open field that surrounded it. Overall it was a disappointing stay.
Ben Nachman
Ben Nachman: Had a fantastic stay at Grendon Lakes in the glamping huts. We had a group of 25 and the team couldn't have been more helpful in setting up the perfect birthday weekend. The site is fantastic, with plenty to do and comfortable tipis to stay in. Definitely recommend and looking forward to my next stay! Thanks everyone at Grendon Lakes for making it a fantastic birthday weekend.

Tom Furniss (Drifter): Well worth a visit. I spend a lot of time, staff really friendly and brilliant activities
Gary Welch
Gary Welch: Camped here for one night, during which loud music was played by other campers and although brought to the attention of the staff, was not addressed. No hot water in any showers in the morning. Having complained after our stay the staff were rude and unprofessional when handling the complaint. The lake for paddle boarding is wholly inappropriate being only 0.5m deep and full of weeds, debris and tyres. Most definitely not worth £10 per person.Would not recommend staying here or using the paddle board lake

High End Chauffeurs Elegance at its Finest
High End Chauffeurs Elegance at its Finest: An absolutely great wedding venue if the weather is nice and it was on this day. Has lots of other facilities such as glamping that others said was good. Plenty of space for long walks. Only lost one star due to the road access that was bumpy and narrow if you can live with that (our large chauffeur cars struggled) then you’ve got the five stars. Loved it very different.

Jordan Wiltshire
Jordan Wiltshire: Just got home from the most wonderful weekend staying in Yurt Nuru at Jubilee Barns, I cannot fault the experience. Jenna & Bobby were so welcoming and attentive and made sure every little detail was taken care of. The yurt and facilities included were beautifully presented and clean with so many amenities and essentials provided in the yurt for us to enjoy during our stay. We made the most of some of the optional extras offered during our stay including the pizza oven and continental breakfast, both were delivered right to our door by Bobby and were packed/presented in cute baskets and really added to the whole experience, I would highly recommended both! The whole area the yurt was situated in was private, spacious and surrounded by fields so although you are in walking distance to others the layout makes you feel as though you are totally isolated. The hot tub was amazing and we spent our evenings relaxing in the warm water and looking up at the stars, we were also super lucky and went on the weekend of a stunning full moon!I cannot recommend this place enough and there is so much more I could say but honestly if you’re thinking about booking in, don’t think about it, just do it! We are already planning our next visit and can’t wait to come back. Thank you so much Jenna & Bobby for the most amazing weekend. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

kay burke: Perfect chill out escapeSpent a fabulous weekend in the Yurt. Just what you need to get away from the hustle and bustle of the working week. Your own private plot surrounded by nature. The wood fired hot tub enabled us to spend an evening star gazing and listening to the sounds of nature. Our own shower cabin and gas fired BBQ and comfy rocking chairs made sure we had the comforts needed. However this was our first time in a yurt and its definately nothing like a tent. So luxurious and spacious with it's own comfy double bed and wood burner. Thank you Jenna and Bobby, on hand for anything we needed everything was spotlessly clean. You had thought of everything. I was a reluctant camper but am definately converted to this style of camping. Hope to see you again soon.
Dominique Thorn
Dominique Thorn: Just left this place after a most enjoyable weekend staying in the yurt. I couldn't recommend this place highly enough - every little fixture/fitting is designed for comfort and luxury, there's so much attention to detail, it really is a million steps above your usual camping experience! No electricity, but apart from that there is hot and cold running water, a very private, well situated wood-fired hot tub (for two), a wood burner within the yurt, a whole host of lanterns and other candle holders, and everything you could want from tea, coffee and ketchup through to handwash, soap and an array of cooking and eating equipment. Two rocking chairs and outdoor blankets with big cosy dressing gowns, just perfect for sitting outside on the decking and enjoying a cup of hot chocolate with gooey marshmallows (all provided). Aside from that, the little 'paddock' containing the yurt is surrounded on two sides by a cow field, and on the way out of the farm you pass two lovely pigs wallowing in the mud and free ranging chickens among a number of pets - all of which are rescues we were told. There are lots of country lanes and villages nearby, perfect for a stroll/hike or an afternoon bike ride. On top of everything, our hosts were so welcoming and down to earth, but also very mindful of the precautions necessary for keeping everyone safe during the pandemic - Jenna explained all of the extra measures they'd taken to ensure everything was disinfected and thoroughly cleaned between guests. This was our first visit to Jubilee Barn, but it most definitely won't be the last. Thank you for a fab weekend, we'll be back!!!

Louise knight: We had a 2 night stay in the Seren wagon on Jubilee barn. We were blown away with how beautiful the setting was. Tucked away around 500m away from the farm, it's in a very private space. The wagon is beautifully decorated with candles, fairy lights and solar lights dotted around to keep light in the evenings. There's a hot tub which is very easy to use, a gas bbq, picnic area, separate shower/loo area and a space to light a fire in the evenings. Plenty of tea and coffee available as well as bread, local honey, sauces, eggs etc included. There is also a little shop on site for extra supplies if needed. Breakfast menu was also available, just txt the owners with the time you'd like it for. The owners are very friendly and left us to it. Our stay felt so peaceful and magical and the local area is stunning. We would definitely love to visit again.

Grant C: I’m posting a review for the customer service I have received and their products.I have just had to return an item for a replacement and their staff on the phone are lovely. I had a small issue with their chat on their website which they acknowledged as not the best but having called them they had already sorted the issue for me. They went above and beyond. Even when I have gone into the stores to discuss items they are so helpful especially in the Northampton, Market Harborough and rushden lakes branches they were really helpful.

Bethany-Anne Merritt: What a lovely place! So much to do here. There is a shop on site, another shop 5 min drive. Staff are lovely. There is a natural play area for the children and a rope swing. We had a grass pitch with no electric. Toilets were cleaned at least twice a day. Takes 20 minutes to walk around the lake. We climbed trees, went to collect the eggs from the chickens with Mary, had a campfire, were shown around the farm and our daughter got to sit in a tractor. We explored the fields, there are cows around and there is a real sense of farm life here. A lot of reviws said theres nothing for children to do, there is so much to do with a little imagination. A great place to camp and get back to nature.

Josh Wilson: We visited Brook Meadow for a second time this weekend and had a lovely time. At £24 (+£6 for hook up) for a pitch for a night it’s a very reasonable price especially considering the quality of the facilities offered. The hot water stopped at some point but this was quickly sorted when reported and the wood chip eco boiler thing was fired back up. Could possibly do with another recycling bin near the shower block as this filled up on the busy weekend and I assume people just put all their waste in the general waste bin. All in all though, a fantastic site and we will visit again.

The Old Dairy Farm Camping and Caravanning: what do users think?
mark Berkeley
mark Berkeley: Excellent, nuf said
James Bell
James Bell: Nice quiet site friendly and helpful staff great stay thank youRestrooms: Shame about shower area although I have heard they are going to be updated
mustn't grumble
mustn't grumble: Two unheated toilets/ shower rooms on a water heater so when it's gone it's gone and just one other toilet , a sink for pot washing ( if you're thin enough to squeeze into the gap provided ) and that's your lot.The site itself is strewn with clapped out old caravans that look like they are used as temporary accommodation for casual workers .£26 a night is laughable and it's just a matter of if they can get away with it why not.I wouldn't recommend this place unless you're absolutely desperate.
anita dorrington
anita dorrington: A bit expensive at £34 per night..large enough site and clean.. electric hook up included. Toilets old and dated showers old and dated.. would certainly expect more for the cost. But only round corner to see grandchildren so a bit stuck for choice..
Simon Portwood
Simon Portwood: Lovely spot to spend the night. Good amenities, friendly staff and very reasonable price. New pitches will be great when ready. Would visit again.
Alex Horner
Alex Horner: Couldn’t fault. Great value campsite close to local amenities. Owners also working hard to modernise and improve facilities.
Kath Stebbings
Kath Stebbings: The field really uneven so back of van getting dumped when moving it toilets dirty over priced not go again
Letti Nijboer
Letti Nijboer: Het sanitair was erg smerig, na 1 nacht snel weer verder!
Elias Rieder
Elias Rieder: Lovely quiet campsite with a very friendly owner. Clean bathrooms and so much space. Loved it
Duarte Santos
Duarte Santos: Have another things to do in future for good camping 🏕
Gary Young
Gary Young: Didn't know that I was there lol
Stephen Balfe
Stephen Balfe: Lovely site and brilliant owners, hey Ashley I hope you’ve still got that army jacket I gave you?Hello to you and rose hope you both well?
Fee Ramsay
Fee Ramsay: Could be really nice. Great wee spot but the shower and toilet block let it down badly. Needs attention and cleaning! At least the water was hot. As a result I feel it was overpriced for what it was.
Sarah Grabham
Sarah Grabham: Camped at the site with a small family group over the weekend recently. Site is close to the canal so some nice walks out and good access to the 3 Locks pub for dinner. They also allow dogs which is nice. The site itself was fairly quiet, seemed to be lights out for most people by 9pm, there was some road noise but that's rather hard to avoid in Milton Keynes so earplugs are a good idea. The facilities are definitely in need of some attention though, the shared shower block/kitchen wash up area has 2 showers and 3 toilets and although someone seemed to be cleaning the toilets fairly regularly and these were clean, there were hairs all over the walls/floor in the showers and cobwebs and spiders hanging down in the surrounding areas, it was grim. Also doesn't seem to be enough showers for everyone as had a very rude man banging on the shower room door telling me to hurry up whilst i was changing so didn't feel particularly safe.
Maureen
Maureen: Friendly staff, as we expected.basic site, in open Countryside very pleasant .does have two showers with toilets which weren't expecting!...we didn't need to use!...could be updated bit as quite basic .enjoyed our short stay
Duncan MacCallum
Duncan MacCallum: Such a peaceful place. Owners are lovely, very welcoming and most accommodating. Pitches are level. Lovely walks. Secure.
David Mills
David Mills: Has all the basics needed. Electric hook up points, showers are okay although are on an immersion so time it right but we were fine. Small and simple campsite suitable for camping and caravanning. Dog friendly and really affordable £20 a night with electric. Would happily come back again
Alex mowles
Alex mowles: As I'm doing a sponsored bike ride from Norwich to Cornwall I got to other camp site that wanted to charge me loadsFound the old dairy farm .Got there late but they waited for meNice quite place if I'm passing through again I'd 100% head here thanks old dairy farm
Shansy Erin
Shansy Erin: Very quiet campsite witch was lovely, the sourounding area is nice walk around especially the canal that is just beside the campsite. My only problem is that the showers were quite dirty and i couldn't bring myself to use them.Despite this i had a great time and the owner was very welcoming.
John Kent
John Kent: Fantastic Campsite. Great location and assured of a friendly welcome. Will definitely be returning very soon.
Dave Hammond
Dave Hammond: Nice site very quiet.

Top End Village Stores: what do users think?
Den Sinnep
Den Sinnep: Following our visit in Summer 2022:A really great site with loads of space and great facilities, spoiled entirely by the atrocious attitude of the owners. It really affected our experience and considering our group spent 4x figure sum to camp here, plus all the money spent at their site shop, you would not expect to be treated like an inconvenience. The star of the site is the site ranger who is a gem.Highly disappointing, and I genuinely doubt the people in question understand how to be polite and courteous when dealing with the public.110% will not be returning for love nor money.Plenty of lovely camp sites out there with welcoming owners - so not loss to us.I genuinely hope nobody else has to endure such behaviour here.
Chris Ashford
Chris Ashford: Great farm shop , amazing produce, freindly staff and very fair priced
andrew macdonald
andrew macdonald: Great farm based shop with friendly staff and so much stuff including groceries, camping supplies, equestrian supplies, pet foods, alcohol! The list goes on! Great experience.

Lesley Savery
Lesley Savery: We as 3 famlies have just come back from top end farm. Will we go back. You bet we will as soon as we can. The place is wonderful and clean. Toilets and showers lovely and clean. Its the people that use them that leaves the mess. The lady was cleaning them when we arrived lovely and polite . The little top end shop had everything that u need and the lady in the shop was really helpful. We hired a fire pit off them brilliant deal with a bag of logs and fire lighters included. Our pitches 3 of them were just perfect. The field is massive and plenty of areas for the children to play. All dogs were well behaved not all was on lads but they were all very well behaved. Lovely park area for the children to play we had no problems with noise such a wonderful place we rate this place 10 out of 10. Cant see what anyone would complain about. Thank u top end farm see u soonThe savery family
Gary Roberts
Gary Roberts: The actual site is great. Good facilities and space. The only thing I would say is do not buy from the ice cream van who comes round. He is very rude to customers and told our kids who were looking at what they wanted and told them to F#@k off.
Steven Whitehead
Steven Whitehead: The actual site is great. Good facilities and space. The only thing I would say is do not buy from the ice cream van who comes round. He is very rude to customers and told our kids who were looking at what they wanted and told them to F#@k off.

Da V
Da V: Great place to go camping or caravan Real Big and well-stocked shop close to St Neots as well lovely new shower block and toilets would recommend to anyone
Taiya Large
Taiya Large: In principal the site is great. Big open spaces for kids to play, a play area (suitable for older kids, no toddler swings), welcoming staff and very clean/modern toilets and showers. A few things spoiled it for us which were not really the fault of the site. 1. It was very windy where we were and it was almost impossible to cook on gas or sit out without your stuff blowing everywhere. 2. There is no noise curfew at this site, there was a large group behind us playing music and shouting until very late. 3. The showers although clean were not pleasant to use...high fixed heads and water so powerful it smashes you in the face with cold water as soon as you turn it on, flooding out the door. Cannot possibly bathe smaller children and you can't have a shower unless you want to wash your hair. 4. Pay as you go WiFi which unfortunately connected only up until the point we paid for access then our pitch wouldn't connect any more possible it was too far away from the router. We ended up leaving early as it wasn't for us. Others seemed to be having a great time though so I'd say good for large groups with older kids that want to stay up late partying. Take a wind break and lots of shampoo.

Elizabeth “Vic” Hunt: Great camp site with nice facilities
Debra Jackson
Debra Jackson: From booking to leaving, really enjoyed this site. Staff are really friendly, facilities are spot on, shop carries a variety of products, layout and spacing of pitches to choose to pitch on site were fantastic. Saved site as favourite on sat nav and will return.
Alison Braddock
Alison Braddock: We stayed in the glamping pods which were nice. The sofa beds were uncomfortable though. The kids had a nice time on the park. Shower blocks and kitchen are clean.
Mike Hughes
Mike Hughes: Great site for caravans or tents, clean toilets and showers. The site wardens go out of their way to help everyone. It has a great playground for kids. All round it is one of the best.
