British Heart Foundation Furniture & Electrical: what do users think?
Nick Tidder: Everyone was very helpful and friendlyHere's the sofa I chose
Bernadette Reilly: I cannot praise the staff enough, from my initial contact via the phone, shop floor staff to delivery men, I cannot recommend BHF Northampton any more, thank you xx
Sarah Hutt: Today I visited Northampton BHF and couldn’t be happier. Staff were wonderful and helpful and the store offered great value. I have read some reviews that state it’s pricy, Oak dining table for 6 people £50 and a bookcase £15 in my case so that’s very good value. There is a selection of second hand furniture and end of stock furniture which naturally is a little more price as it’s brand new. Another couple walked away with a French polished maple large dining table for £20. So be patient be kind they do a fantastic service most as volunteers committed to the cause of helping others. If you don’t find it straight away it will be there next time. I ended getting everything I needed. Thank you for your help today.
Troy Scott Gallagher: Bought a (second hand) couch from them.It had a sign saying "professionally cleaned", but after closer inspection only the outside had been cleaned and removing the cushions revealed quite a bit of dog hair. After bringing this to the attention of one of the staff they checked and said it had only been given a once over. They did remove the sign so I thought maybe just an honest mistake. Upon further enquiries they said they would add it to the list of things to clean before it was delivered (5 days away).I was lied to twice and feel quite disgusted. Should have walked out the door after the first lie. Spent the last 2 hours trying to clean up the load dog hair from crevices with little success.I know not to expect amazing quality form a second hand shops, but I was hoping some due diligence for cleanliness and not to be lied to.
Mrs Katty: Very good collection of furniture and electronics... I wish they had home gym machines like Debra and other charity shops
Fidget King!!!!: Extremely rude staff. Even the old boy who brings the furniture to the store is Extremely rude. It's like neither staff or the furniture want to be there lol. Also some stuff is a bargain and some stuff is overly priced. Suppose to be a charity store. Ppl just go to Abington Street. Plenty of shops and the staff are awesome.
Zaine Hussain (MrZaine): Staff really helpful and vast collection of new and second hand goods. And the money is going to charity 🙏🏾
Jan White: Spoke to cardiac nurse through BHF helpline, she was wonderful and really helped explain heart doctor's letter to our gp . Put things I perspective and gave great advice x
Nikesh Kumar Das: This is a very good place if you have just moved in and need good quality cost effective furnitures. The staff was helpful and accommodated some of my requests.
binu baby: Bought two cabinets from Northampton British heart.Asked the volunteer on shop whether these cabinets can be brought to first floor(single flight of stairs). Volunteer promised that won't be a problem.Hence bought the item in first place. No sticker on the item showing cannot transferred to first floor as shown in certain other items on store.Delivery person refused to bring the cabinets to first floor.Even asked do you want the item or not.Communication should be transparent and don't give false promises.Delivery people got manual handling devices. Not ordinary people got access to those items.Selling by saying it can be delivered to first floor and dumping item in ground floor is not professional.Poor experience.
Joe Sansom: DO NOT BUY FURNITCHER FROM HEREI bought a red sofa from them for £40 only to discover when I'd got home and washed the sofa cushion covers it was riddled with woodlice !!!!
Lynda Marshall: Refused a perfectly good table/desk.Won’t waste my time again
jithesh mukundan: Good staff and buying from here serves a got cause. Highly recommended for anyone new in town and looking for inexpensive essential furniture. Usual delivery charge to nearby places is 25£ .
Michelle Simons: OVERPRICED FURNITURE!Just moved house so thought this a good place to purchase some temporary furniture at a good price whilst supporting a good cause.Wanted a wardrobe for my daughter and found a 2-door basic wardrobe (IKEA/Argos) that would have been ideal HOWEVER most wardrobes are VERY overpriced for second-hand donations! This wardrobe was £80 ... It's only £100 new!!!?And £60 for a yellowing 60's wardrobe that was utterly filthy inside. That's just ridiculous!I understand that a charity needs to make money and has overheads ...I support this wholeheartedly BUT this store needs to review their practice of over charging and research price points before they price goods.
Malinda Ekanayake: Super arrogant staff specialy the lady who's in the cashier . Was acting like I came to sell something to them. Frankly speaking I was there to buy suff.
Phillip Mallard: Does what it says on label, good second hand stuff at reasonable prices, Margaret on the tills was very helpful & big thank you to delivery guys, polite, cheerful and very helpful and on time which in this day & age is a rare thing indeed👍
Sophia Robin: Staff need training on customer service! The staff operating the tills showed no customer care or service. Also, some of the staff transporting furniture were also rude and unhelpful, while other staff moving the furniture were pleasant to communicate with.Furniture is presented in dirty, unattractive condition.I would have bought other products, if they had been cleaned and if the staff had been pleasant to deal with.
m h: Occasionally have some brilliant stock in.As with any charity shop there is a lot of rubbish items but everything is priced well
neville luck: Found an ideal leather and large chair at a great price delivered this morning bang on seven am what a great service thank you we will definately call in again
Barry Saxton: Some lovely furniture at great prices.
Terry Melville: Well over priced, it’s a charity shop for god sake.

Salvation Army Trading Company Superstore: what do users think?
m s: The messiest and most expensive charity shop I have seen. More expensive than new stuff with occasional discounts.
Paul McCullock: A magnificent shop. Loads to look at
Nanammra Amoah: Nice looking place
Kamala Adams: Found a few nice things but the prices were way too high to justify buying them. Came away with just a mug for £4 that still felt too expensive but, as it was for my dad, I thought I’d buy it anyway.
Tilly Lever: Nicely set out shop, friendly staff but prices are extortionate. I know everything's gone up but I don't expect to pay nearly as much as brand new for second hand stuff. The furniture is more than 'retro' and still £50+. I won't be visiting again.
Martins Akpan: Loads of items available for low prices. Nice place 👌 👍 👏 ☺️ to shop.
David Hilton: Prices are extremely high for a chairty shop, same products even down to small items like a pair of shoes or clothes have been in there for atleast 2 months.EDIT: 11 months later, items I originally spoke about are still in the shop!!! 🙄😂
Whisperhead: Honestly, this review has nothing to do with the staff - anyone who gives their time and effort to help out in a charity shop, volunteer or otherwise deserves our gratitude, so 5 stars for all of the employees. However, the charity as an entity is the subject of this review: it has clearly succumbed to a misguided notion that "what eBay says, goes."A wide spectrum of items that are generously donated to the charity are hugely overpriced for second-hand goods. I have even overheard senior staff (usually the managers) telling customers openly that "we go by eBay prices." Those customers have then made the same argument I do here, before leaving immediately. Why would anyone pay RRP for pre-owned (and often average-condition) goods? The problem with this ethos is that anyone can list anything on eBay for whatever price they like: whether it sells or not. As a charity, I can fully understand wanting to get a good return on items for sale but on eBay, there is no limit to the price a person can ask, and that doesn't translate to 'selling' price, just an arbitrary figure entirely at the whim of the seller. The paltry few who don't understand the mechanics of selling online might fall go rot but the majority are much more wise to this.Poor show. You're losing customers because of it, which is a shame, as inevitably those who need the charity funds the most are missing out.
Tim Timmington: Good selection of items, in a lovely space, but poorly presented and often overpriced.
Muriel Hough: Such a good charity shop. Always like to pop in when I can.
Afroz Hasan: Very good store I like the clothes quality is good and all of the stuff in same store that’s really good
Kim Tyrrell: This is the sort of shop you have to pop into all the while to get any bargains.
Carol: The men that collect donated items are lazy and look for any excuse not to take heavier donations. They left a perfectly good solid wardrobe and a table because they obviously couldn't be bothered. One of them didn't know the difference between a Phillips and a flathead screwdriver 😆😆I've donated those items now to a more interested charity who are desperate for wardrobes
Neil: I like to support the Salvation army store because they do a great job. I bought some really nice things.
Stephanie Glazebrook: No commonsense when it comes to pricing.
R: Big store, nice to browse, but prices need to be reduced as they don't seem to reflect that the items are second hand. I would have bought a couple of things but in both cases I could get the items brand new for a similar price. The LP browsing has been pushed out of the limelight and it's a shame the cafe has gone.
rebecca eccles: Lovely service, wide variety of clothes in multiple sizes, lots of things other than clothes available also. Just a joy to go to every time!
Phil Halson: This is a very large charity shop on Abington Street in the centre of Northampton which sells furniture, electrical goods, clothes, fitness equipment, books, records, CDs, dvds, toys, bric a brac, plus probably all sorts of other things that you can think of. I think some things are donated by supermarkets because there will often be several of one item in brand new condition.
Eva Varga: Fiataloknak kezdeni nagyon jó, mivel olcsó.
Michael Rogerson: Brilliant
Adam Dlugosz: Good

Michelle's Emporium: what do users think?
mchelle: First time buying from here and will be the last. Needed a item for few months, Very poor communication, no one answers the phone, delivery communication was dreadful had to wait a week to hear anything and then still wasn't sure what day or time they would show up.
keith anderson: They want items for free to make big profit , poor response on communication ...Avoid
Wild Raven Drone Services: Visited today but didn't purchase, the emporium resembled a dumping ground; nothing really placed in a way you could adequately view it, a lot of bits didn't appear to be overly looked after e.g. Rug for sale laid on the floor for everyone to walk over, lovely colourful sofa with another sofa dumped upside down on top of it, bits of bed strewn about upstairs. The emporium smelled heavily of cigarette smoke, which was also a massive put off. I think with a bit of effort spent displaying stuff it could be a much better place to visit. If you like digging through piles of furniture it could be an upcyclers dream. Edit: I just searched through the photos on here, it looked great at one point, what happened!?
Julija Gavrilova: Overpriced
Abraham Chidiebere: Get your used home appliances at unbelievable cheap rates.Beds, chairs, TV stands for as low as 5pounds
R Hull: Bought a few bits here now, Michelle was really helpful, and did us a good deal on three bits of furniture.
Mike Webb: Sold my apartment in Upton, have loads of great things for sale cheap!!!!!THESE and MUCH MORE..Please get in touch. mikebias@btinternet.com or Facebook Mike Webb!
janet evans: Lots to see and very friendly staff
candy woods: Lovely people, amazing and helpful!
marion wellington: Not much there
Vladislav Bendik: Wow amazing place to shop...we get loads of discounts..from sofa bed sports be 249 they give us for 170 pound bergain!definitely coming back there
Helen Carline: Good selection of second hand bits and bobs
Daphne Richardson: Just popped into Michelle's Emporium today looking for beds and dining room sets. The lady was very helpful and showed me her stock. I'm definitely interested in the beds. Thanks
mandy mcconnell: Excellent friendly service
JACQUELINE DOPSON: Lovely girls who run Michelle's. Very friendly and approachable. The place itself is crammed full of great bargains both new and pre-loved. From sofas and beds to pushchairs and toys. There's new things to see every time I go in!
Truth Seeker: Great place for fab furniture
Daz Buzzer: A local business ran by 2 lovely girls who can't do enough to help out .I would rather spend my money there than in one of the big companies whose staff are in your face from the moment you enter .....
Andy Sedgley: Cheap rubbish(Edited)After posting this review i was unexpectedly contacted by the ladies husband to have a go at me because he didn't like my opinionVery classy and well doneAnd then Offered a fightPathetic behaviour
Mark Turner: Really cool place. Good selection and stock always changing. Really helpful and NO hard sell.

The Salvation Army: what do users think?
Carley Dengel: Love this place! Credit to the Manager, staff and volunteers.
Victoria Faloye: i experienced the worst form of inhumane today 06 dec 2022. so i have been shopping at salvation army and this particular old woman gave me a loyalty card to be redeemed at my next shopping with them. so the following week i went to the shop with the hope that i will be given the discount but the lady that i met there said that hell no i have to purchase more items for me to get the discount so i bought my stuffs again and left till today that i went to shop again and once again i met this woman TRUDI by name. immediately i saw her i told her about the loyalty card and how i have not been able to redeem it so she took my payment and i stretched the card to her but she said she wont be able to process it and later collected the card and whatever thing she did i dont know, she just told me that she cant find the card and she wont be able to give me the items that i have purchased becausze she has refunded my money. long and short this woman debited me and didnt give me the items i purchased on the ground that she has refunded me but it will take 3 to 4 days to get to my account. i searched all my bag there i didnt see this loyalty card she claimed she has returned to me that made her held my stuffs and money. i felt so terrible that i walked out of the store feeling very depressed and as to how inhuman people can be. i have come with the last penny with me and this woman took it without any remorse or how i feel.the only reason why i will ever visit this place is to get confirm with her whether or not have gotten my refund. TRUDI I WANT YOU TO KNOW THAT YOU REALLY HURT ME.
Becky Moore: Have bought a few nice things in here at a good price. Great choice of items for sale. Friendly sraff. They have a wheelchair ramp to make the shop accessible.
boruo: no space in between the isles for wheelchair users everytime someone in a chair comes in they have to move it all around. disgraceful.
Tim Stone: Helpful staff, and lovely boutique feel to the shop.
Sabrina Ahmadzai: Very,very expensive.
Malinda Ekanayake: Dodgy staff, poor quality electronic goods.haven't been checked properly doesn't respect customers return rights.
Yvonne: Two stars for calling themselves a charity shop. This is without doubt the most expensive second hand clothes shop I have ever come across while surveying charity shop prices and that's saying something having been to charity shops in Olney. For example, men's lace up loafers, clearly used, £14.99. Mens T shirts £4+. Men's jeans £7.99. I could go on but you get the picture. No wonder this shop is always jam packed with stock, people walk in and straight back out again. There are often homeless people living on the streets close by, there is no way they would be able to purchase anything here. Prices of men's warm winter coats would make you think, no way, I must be seeing things. There are probably a dozen more cheaper alternatives in the area.
Emily McCabe: Fantastic charity shop with great staff and a dedicated baby section selling prams, toys and many other items for babies and families!
