Today on Trinity Sunday we celebrate the mystery of the Holy Trinity, one God in three persons.

The feast invites us to live in the awareness of the presence of the Triune God within us: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

First Reading - Exodus 34:4-6, 8-9 -Moses pleads for God's mercy on Mount Sinai.

Moses went up on Sinai with the two stone tablets in his hands as the Lord had directed him and the Lord descended in the form of a cloud. Moses called on the Lord to adopt this headstrong people as His heritage. Indeed, he did so, for our God is a God of tenderness and compassion.

Responsorial Psalm Daniel 3:52-56 - We praise God who is exalted above all forever.

Second Reading - 2 Corinthians 13:11-13- Live in peace with one another and with God.

The reading from Paul's letter is one of good wishes and happiness - that they should help each other and live in love and peace, with the grace of Christ, the love of God and the fellowship of Holy Spirit.

Alleluia, Alleluia - Glory be to God the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, the God who is, who was, and who is to come. Alleluia.

Gospel Reading - John 3:16-18 - God sent His only Son so that through Him the world might be saved.

Jesus says to Nicodemus that, because God loved the world so much, God sent His only Son not to condemn the world but to save it. Furthermore, no one who believes will be condemned but those who refuse to believe is condemned already. Jesus tells Nicodemus that no one can enter the Kingdom of God without being born of water and Spirit. Jesus is essentially explaining Baptism, which we celebrate as a sacrament. We are called to share in the life of the Blessed Trinity Baptism by our baptism in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, here on earth in the obscurity of faith, and after death in eternal light. God the Father, out of love for the world, sent his Son into the world in order to save it. Through the death and resurrection of the Son, we have been given the gift of the Holy Spirit. God's love for us calls us to respond in faith by professing our belief in God's son, Jesus, and the salvation that he has won for us. Responsorial Psalm - To you glory and praise for evermore

St. Jean-Marie Vianney used to explain Holy Trinity using lighted candles and roses on the altar and water in the cruets. "The flame has colour, warmth and shape. But these are expressions of one flame. Similarly, the rose has colour, fragrance and shape. But these are expressions of one reality, namely, rose. Water, steam and ice are three distinct expressions of one reality. In the same way one God revealed Himself to us as Father, Son and the Holy Spirit."

Let us pray to the one God, Father, Son and Holy Ghost, that our love may bear witness to our faith.

Father, you sent your Word to bring us truth and your Spirit to make us holy. Through them we come to know the mystery of your life. Help us to worship you, one God in three Persons, by proclaiming and living our faith in you.

Lord Jesus, we come to your sacred table to nourish ourselves, not with bread but with Yourself, true Bread of eternal life. Help us to recognise and celebrate your presence every day in our lives. Walk with us on our journey of faith as you once did with the disciples on the road to Emmaus.

We are an Anglican Parish Church, in the catholic tradition, whose primary purpose is to bring others to faith in Jesus Christ and to promote the Christian Gospel. We seek to inspire lives of committed service and, in all respects, live the implications of our faith within our contemporary setting.

We strive to be a welcoming community where worshippers enjoy a sense of belonging to a 'parish family'. Such a community is characterized by mutual respect and affirmation based on a recognition that, though unique, we are each created in the likeness of Christ.
