Samuel Coe: Visit often as live locally but the trials are in bad condition and are often overgrown by mid summer. Lack of bins leads to bad litter problem too. Signage in the actual nature reserve has been vandalised so can be hard to navigate. On the plus side - free parking and lots of interesting birds!

Sid Osmany: A pretty sterile featureless shallow pond going by the name of boating lake. Hardly ever seen any kids with toy boats here. Mostly dogs bathing at the height of summer.The surrounding park is actually quite good, with better landscaped ponds, forest areas, playing fields and kids play areas. Great for dog walking.

Emma Richardson: We had initially booked a glamping pod but were unaware that it was basically a heated dog kennel. They have nothing in them and I couldn't find any communal kitchen thing aside from an outdoor bbq. We did manage to change our booking very easily to a bronze lodge which was much better. It doesn't have WiFi in it at all but the Venue did have free wifi available. The lodge/caravan had a room with a double bed, a tiny room with two very narrow single beds, and a spacious living room which had a fold out bed in it. It was very warm inside but the heating control in the cupboard made a rumbling noise occasionally. The kitchen had a good range of utensils and gear and they supplied a small tube of dishwashing liquid, a sponge, a cloth and a tea towel. No bath towels provided but had a good shower.We were there mid April so not much open except on weekend. They email out the menus for the venue before arrival and didn't see anything to indicate food at the Venue until Saturday night. Nothing has opening hours written so are sometimes closed. There is a little supermarkette by the lake. The laundromat is good, takes card and easy to use but need own powder/liquid.Overall, had a great stay but feel like the website could use more information on facilities available.
Mama: Lovely place to take the kids, nice little funfair, lovely little train ride around the lake. You have the option of getting off half way round, where you can play crazy golf or have some refreshments from the little shop.

Only minor thing... when we were in the venue we noticed a couple of members of staff that were walking around cleaning the tables etc and they could not have looked more disengaged if they tried, i know it isnt the "best of jobs" but when you work in the service industry you are expected to show some sort of enthusiasm or at least an occasional smile but these two were like zombies. On the other hand watching them amused us somewhat so it wasnt all bad lol.

Rs Davies: A wild life corridor around a stream at the edge of a housing estate, far more sensible than sticking the stream in a culvert and building over it, a path along its full length allows for a pleasant walk not far from home, and it supports quite a reasonable assortment of British bird life, as well as the more obvious squirrels
