Role Description
At hedgehog lab, people are our greatest asset. As Head of Technology, reporting to the COO, you will have ownership of the technology strategy, development, execution, and innovation for our clients. You will be responsible for leading, coaching and inspiring the Technology team in Clutch’s No. 1 Mobile App Developer, Globally.
Key Responsibilities
• Leadership and scaling of technical team who specialise in a wide range of technologies (including Android, iOS, Flutter, Node JS, React, AWS/Azure, Data Analytics, SonarQube) across agile and other project types (eg. fixed price or fixed scope projects)
• Ensuring the correct technology processes and standards are clearly documented and followed by the department across all types of projects.
• Oversight, career management, and resourcing of technical team members in Newcastle and beyond.
• Working closely with Technical Leads, Product Leads, Design Leads and Project Management to correctly scope, estimate and plan our projects to be delivered on time and within budget.
• Ability to create appropriate technical specifications and architectures, and validate those created by other members of the team.
• Champion, oversee, and enforces quality assurance and timely delivery within budget
• Support the Commercial team in new business efforts and driving go-to-market strategy.
• Prepare and deliver proposals and presentations to all levels of a client's organisation in addition to creating regular project documentation.

Summary

• Where customer escalations, complaints or additional queries are raised by the Newcastle user community and further support is required to resolve the issue or request, to escalate to the relevant key contacts within Microland or other parts of the business to ensure the issue is owned through to completion. Where support is required by the Global IT organisation, you are required to act as a local point of contact to facilitate resolution of requests and issues.
Change Management
• To own the change approval process on behalf of the Newcastle office.
• Changes specific to Newcastle are required to be approved each week via ServiceNow. Some changes are non-impacting to the Newcastle user community and therefore will only require authorisation within ServiceNow and to ensure your awareness.
Communication
• Newcastle communications would be relevant to planned projects and changes, ad-hoc system maintenance and unforeseen system outages.
• For planned changes and ad-hoc system maintenance you will ensure that the Newcastle user community receive appropriate communication which would confirm the changes ahead of time. The communication should outline disruption to those services (length of time unavailable) and any possible workarounds whilst the system is unavailable.
• In the event of a major service failure raised as a P1 or P2 which impacts Newcastle, you will be the point of escalation. Working closely with the London Incident Management team to ensure that, where appropriate, Newcastle users and key business contacts are updated on progress and their needs are factored in to the incident response.

Key Responsibilities
• Hiring Manager Management- working with hiring team to understand the business ask for the recruitment, the key skills and attributes required, and timescales needed.
• Candidate engagement and management.
• Proactive sourcing across a number of recruitment tools, including but not limited to; headhunting, proactive sourcing, experienced use of Linked In, Google x-ray searches.
• Assessment of candidate suitability and fit against role requirements.
• Management of the end to end process including; candidate sourcing and shortlist selection, interviewing process, and closing/negotiating the offers; incl. detailed pre-screen prior to submitting candidates to manager interview.
• Manage the internal applicant process as well as the employee referral process to ensure a consistent and positive experience for all parties.
• Reporting is key for our teams to retain transparency both within our team and with the wider business, ensuring good cadence around updates for both the team and hiring managers.
• The role requires that you maintain 100% accurate real time data records within Sage People ensuring compliance at all times.
• Provide ad-hoc reporting as required by the business/ TA management.
• Deliver results through productivity / quality KPIs; time, cost, experience, reporting, ratio's, data integrity and process adherence.
• Being a Sage Brand Ambassador at all times to strengthen the employer brand at every opportunity including but not limited to being an advocate of good Social Media practices in the team and embed it in the wider business through example.
Skills & Experience:
Must have:
• Proficiency in English language, verbal and written.
• Experience and knowledge of Talent Acquisition processes.
• A proven working history in a 360 recruitment role with specialist experience in hiring across Product and IT roles.
• Strong stakeholder management skills- understanding the importance of relationship management skills and capability to build and deliver customer focused hiring solutions.
• Experience of working with an ATS system and ensuring accuracy to the data inputted to ensure accuracy against business reporting.
• Solid planning and organisation skills.
• Evidence of delivery and execution with pace and high quality outputs.
• Evidence of expertise and use of various social media channels.

The Role
The role will be part of the CIO Risk Team... which is transforming and maturing the IT Risk and Control framework within Tesco Bank.
