Grand Union Physiotherapy: what do users think?
Gareth Rees: I went to Chris for two sessions with significant back pain affecting my work on a building site and ruining my sleep. He is very calm and methodical and takes time to analyse and correct any misalignment before providing exercises. He takes time to explain everything and sends through detailed notes after the session and as a result I was able to do the exercises accurately and now I am better.
Luke Taplin-McCallum: Having spent £thousands with several other specialists (from Chrio's, physios and consultants), Chris is by far the best I have seen.He takes a methodical approach to dive as deep as possible, to find the underlying core cause. No stone left unturned. He also looks to leave you feeling educated on what is going on.After several sessions with Chris, I have left educated and pain free.A big thank you for Chris' support - as he goes above and beyond even in his communications outside of session.
Umesh Mistry: Excellent treatment and advice given…thoroughly recommended
F R: Chris first treated me 16 years ago, supporting me with compassion through mobility issues. major and minor orthopaedic surgery, and I’ve returned to his practice whenever I’ve needed further care. I really appreciate his holistic approach, looking at an overview of the situation, thinking about underlying concerns and talking through the problems and preferred outcomes, followed by hands-on treatment and clearly explained sets of exercises. This means that I understand the issues and why he has chosen a particular treatment, and feel totally confident in his knowledge and experience. I always recommend Chris to friends and family in need of physiotherapy, as I’ve had such positive and successful results from his treatment.
Jane Wolfson: Chris does really, really thorough diagnostics, and then over two or three sessions gives you the tools, techniques and exercises to help you improve things yourself. He's helped me enormously at different times with knee, hip and foot pain.
Carole Haswell: Chris is one of the most important people in my list of contacts. He has helped me enormously with several musculoskeletal problems over the last 15 years or so. This has made a huge difference to my quality of life and my effectiveness in every area of my life. Chris has enormous expertise and understanding, and is able to make very effective diagnoses and recommend exercises which quickly create dramatic progress. As others have said, Chris takes a holistic approach which is one reason why he is so effective. I have recommended him to several friends who have reported similarly positive outcomes. Most recently he has helped me with achilles tendinopathy, but he has also fixed my tennis elbow, knee problems, frozen shoulders (I had two), whiplash, and a sacroiliac issue which had blighted my life for years under (expensive) treatment from other physios. Generally Chris fixes things in one or a few visits. He is fantastic value for money!
Gary Meddings: I really appreciated how Chris took the time to get to know me beforehand to understand how I'd possibly incurred the injury I'd sustained. He then went about a thorough examination and identified the possible cause and how best to treat. His diagnosis was accurate and for the first time in over a year I'm almost pain free with constant improvement, thanks Chris.
Gary Chambers: I highly recommend Chris, from the initial assessment, where he pinpointed the problem, to the treatment and the personalised exercises. I wouldn't hesitate to visit Chris again in the future for any other aches and pains.
Pavla Carroll: I've seen a number of specialists for back / shoulder pain over the last couple of years but I must say none of them was nowhere near as good as Chris. He didn't just tell me what to do but explained the pain and the triggers of it. And what really impressed me was his holistic approach. He took time to understand me as a person, my lifestyle and routines. When other specialists just simply told me "not to lift anything heavy (including my child)" Chris understood that a mother has to pick her young child and he was happy to work with that and have me guidance on how to do so safely. I found him very helpful and supportive and can definitely recommend.
john wardley: I have sought treatment from Chris three times during the last 20 years . On each occasion with an extremely painful back and leg. The first after an RTA with a massive commercial vehicle when I was resigned to never walk again.Careful and skilful diagnosis of the damage to my back followed by treatment together with a specific excersises plan put me right each time .Amazing or even magic best describes the treatment. Good training together with a lifetime of experience must put Chris truly one of the best practitioners in the UK.
Robert Gray: I visited Chris because I had persistent neck and shoulder pains. I was expecting a quick prod/manipulation to sort but Chis is far better than that. He took time to listen to the symptoms, examined the painful areas to understand the causes and then worked out a plan for treatment and maintenance. After just three visits all is sorted and I have confidence that the exercises he set will address the underlying issue and keep the pain at bay.I cannot recommend Chris highly enough.
Liz Harper: I couldn't recommend Grand Union Physiotherapy more highly. Chris is very easy to talk to and he really listens to his patient's needs. Thankyou for a first-class service!
Matt Perrin: Highly recommend Grand union Physiotherapy. Had what I had previously been told was a muscular issue, Chris was brilliant at recognising the real issue and resolving what was an issue for years in a matter of weeks. Brilliant service all round!
Maggie Elliott: I recently went to Chris Pitts with a stiff and very painful neck after a heavy day gardening. I always turn to Chris as he listens and asks the right questions to really understand my pain. The treatment and advice he gives is so helpful as are the follow up exercises. After one session I left with a pain free and lovely mobile neck. I thoroughly recommend him.
Richard Baker: Highly recommend! After weeks of neck, shoulder and arm pain, Chris very quickly diagnosed and resolved my injury including a useful programme for ongoing stability. Very professional, reasonably priced and knows what he is talking about !
Jenny Mercer: From my recent experience I can recommend Chris PITTS. He gave good attention to the details I discussed with him of my aching back. I felt reassured by his taking my medical history too, and the treatment I was given was explained to me carefully And I was happy to have it. I appreciate his follow up email confirming the Exercise he demonstrated to me.Jenny Mercer
Barry Howson: Tennis elbow meant I couldn't straighten my arm or use it fully despite NHS physio attention. My initial session here with Chris was an hour long and and I went home with an almost straight arm. Chris also explained the problem and purpose for each exercise.
Andrea Bonson: I've been seeing Physiotherapists with various joint and muscular issues for quite a number of years, treatment has always helped, but none have helped me to identify my problems, helping me to help myself.I chose Chris Pitts from Grand Union Physiotherapy based on his positive google reviews and he did not disappoint. Chris had a very limited time to work with me due to my travel commitments, he identified a lack of strength in some core muscle, being managed by over compensation in other muscle groups and which has been causing me pain and limiting my natural body flexibility. Chris emailed my Personal Exercise Programme after every session, after carefully explaining how to do them properly.I have now set up a personal schedule to carry out my exercises regularly and I can already feel my body making progress. Every time I questioned why certain muscles hurt, Chris explained how they worked, what caused the pain and what I could do to alleviate that pain. What I appreciated was the fact that Chris took the time to find out about my lifestyle, how I sat, walked, relaxed, worked, etc., so that he could pinpoint how to help me, he was clear, with concise muscle problem identification and how to stretch, manage and help myself.I cannot recommend this practice highly enough, I am confident that with Chris’s advice, I will get my body back to fighting fit again.
Robert Norman: Attended in 2016 with a shoulder problem and again in October 2018 with a knee issue diagnosed as patellofemoral pain. Both times the root cause of the problem were identified and explained clearly. Excercises were given and in both cases the problems had disappeared within about 3 weeks. I would highly recomend Chris Pitts. His expertise is much appreciated.
Sam Gray: I went to Chris about a very long standing back issue. I found him most helpful. His careful and thorough assessment gave me confidence of a solution to my pain. His methodical, gentle approach helped to reduce my pain level to the best it’s been in a number of years. I am very pleased to recommend Chris.
Joanne Foster: Chris carried out a very thorough assessment of my painful shoulder and knee, which ensured a targeted treatment plan that has been highly effective! I highly recommend Chris as an experienced and skilled physio. Many thanks Chris.

CMK therapy: what do users think?
Laney , Marley: I am a vulnerable patient, 'but since you do not get the funding, for any vaccination, left to try & get my own, which is fine, But not everyone can use email!!! & your receptionist wasn't very helpful! they do not understand, 'when you explain you cannot use email, I went to the open university, & that was closed! "I have also phoned some chemists to no avail.
Nicole Goyder: Really disappointing service. Was seen 4 weeks ago about a breast lump. Was told by the doctor that he had sent a referral request through.Had to chase this up - there was evidence on my file about a 2 week turnaround referral request, but a 'technical error' meant that it was never sent to the hospital. They have now sent the request off 4 weeks after my appointment, with no note about needing an appointment urgently. So now I will need to wait likely weeks more for an appointment at the hospital. It's a worrying time having a lump which needs being checked, made all the more worrying by the gp never sending off the request.
Thomas Watson: Been using cmkmc for 10 years +. So happy I was a patient here when I was sick a few years ago they so helped me out all over Covid and lockdown. So nice when staff put themselves out for you. (Particularly Vicky.)Great Doctors in particular Dr Mana Dr zac what wonderful doctors. With the way surgery’s are today this one must be so far up the list maybe even top. Keep up the good work everyone. Thanks to all.
Parul Tyagi: They always act swiftly, never had a problem with them.
Jake -: Edited review 2023: Still the sameCurrently being offered apppointments in 8 weeks time, no wonder people don't get better. Too many patients on the books, not enough doctors. On a positive note Dr Zachariah continues to be the best doctor I've ever seen.Edited review 2022: Very poor serviceTook my 4 month old to an appointment for her jabs last month. At the same appointment we told the nurse we are concerned about her cough, we were assured that she would request a doctor appointment on the phone. Then also at the same time made the next appointment for her next course of jabs.We waited the amount of time we were told, still no call from the doctor. We chased it up, only to be told that it had never been requested by the nurse, told to try book online but they were all booked out. We eventually got one, but was a mighty hassle. Then today, 8th September was the date the nurse gave us for the 2nd appointment of jabs when we attended the original one. We arrived this morning, on my day off work, only to be told the nurse hadn't booked our 2nd jab appointment in again. Now we have to wait another 2 weeks for the jabs for our 4 months old.My fiancee has only recently swapped to this surgery after moving out of her old catchment area. She said she's only ever had problems with this one here and her old one was perfectly fine, shame we can't get us all there due to catchmentOriginal review 2021: Nonsense placeOn hold for 6 minutes, asked for a telephone appointment, woman couldn't understand what the reason i was calling for. Kept repeating to her what the health issue i was experiencing and she kept repeating it wrong. At the end of the call she said its for this reason correct, and it was completely wrong! I'll probably turn up to an appointment about an issue thats completely wrongTold there's no appointments full stop to a whole month but I can go elsewhere to another surgery?Seemingly obvious that no doctor works full time here and they're allowing patients from other surgeries to use this one if they can't be seen at their own.Useless doctors surgery, seems pointless to pay tax to not be seen.Doctors appoints are like gold dust, receptionists rude and appointment bookers useless. With wait times like this, its either get better magically by yourself or your symptoms get worse!
G P: Shocking service 🤢
wayne bewley: AvoidI wish I’d never gone to this surgery! This is a highly dangerous place ! I have suffered greatly! From mis diagnosing Withdrawal tolerance side effects to putting me on a highly dangerous medication that should have only been prescribed for a few weeks max ! Coming off such a medI only went in for restless legs!Took 2.5 years to taper and i am still not recovered! With horrendous withdrawal syndromes and a recovery period of you are lucky of 6 to 18months once off !Disgusting considering there, so called oath (I will do no harm )Edit 794 days off a med that your only supposed to be on for 4 weeksMy life is completely ruined and if I make it out of this alive I will be surprised! Assisted suicide should be legal !!! Dr Zachariah should be jailed ! This is disgusting misuse of the ability to perscribe medication and not keeping up with what these meds actually do to people
Freya A: I have been with this surgery for 10 years, and it's been fine until recently. I phoned up to make a family planning appointment in the full knowledge it would take three months to get a date, which was fine and I had planned for it. What is not fine is being told "the clinic will call you back with an appointment". That was three weeks ago. I rang reception back and they eventually admitted that the call-backs themselves operate a waiting list. Presumably if I'm at work when they call (which is likely), I start back at square 1? Why can't I just phone and get an appointment??
Rebecca Saminaden: Told me I have to wait a month for an appointment to sort my medication
Rochelle-jayne Farrier-smith: Been with this doctors a good 4 years and never had issues but over the last two years now I can never get a doctors appointment the are constantly telling me to go online the night before and when I do I go to book the appointments for it to say it’s already been booked o call the next day to be 37 in the que to be told no appointments and same thing all over again then I phone 111 for them to tell me I need a doctors appointment as there is only so much they can do or I’ve ended up in A&E as I can’t get an appointment and snow I’ve been off work 3 weeks due to this it’s rediculois I understand that the NHS are struggling but paintcent care isn’t hard
Colin M: Never have had such bad attitude from the latest receptionists especially the blondish grey haired receptionist on the right hand side, and to ring to try and get an appointment is like trying, sometimes, to get blood out of a stone, pardon the pun, but Dr's are really good when you get an appointment.
CTcreations: Disappointing experience. Didn't get any appointment for any of my calls. Always they redirect to MK Urgent care center, Now I am thinking what is the purpose of having a gp who is always redirect to urgent care (walking center). Previously when I called NHS 111 for my kid, they referred to GP and asked to connect within an hour, and GP receptionist asked me to go directly to urgent care even before asking the reason of the call. But when I reached urgent care, they said they don't have the assessment report (done by nhs 111) and that made me waiting 6 hours for the consultation.
Aimee McKay: I called this morning after being admitted into hospital for breathing issues. Had a major anxiety attack that has carried on for roughly five days. Explained this to Kate the receptionist and she was so caring and empathetic. Got an appointment same day because I can't eat or sleep. Couldn't ask for a better service!
Adrian Surchicin: Worst GP with the most rude receptionistMy 41 week pregnant wife was messaged 3 days later about her repeated sample test on a Thursday after 2 o’Clock and she couldn’t do it that day ,when she came in the today and tried to leave her sample she was 3 min late and the receptionist was extremely rude and didn’t even want to listen to her
Stephanie Birch: I don’t usually post reviews but I felt I had to seeing the bad reviews on here. I’ve not had a bad experience and have been a patient for about four years. Every time I call they are pleasant on the phone and I can always get my children in when they need to be seen if I call at 8:30am in the morning. They are clearly very busy but I think they all do a really good job!
Frederick Tadman: Have been registered since 2022 and found this surgery one of the best yet ! Thank you and good day
Jeremy Zachariah: Despite having massive workloads, the doctors at CMK have consistently gone above and beyond for me and my family. They are a credit to the NHS.Getting an appointment can be difficult but this is a wider problem with government funding of the NHS.
Emily Rose: Not the fault of the doctors or nurses!! This GP is so behind on tech. You can't easily book appointments online and the prescription request system is ancient. Some receptionists can be quite abrupt but some are nice.
Mehran Gondal: Its hard truly hard to express in words the experience i had with this GP PRACTICE and the exposure to such a mean , disgraceful and callous team of receptionists and executives. I genuinely trying and wish to erase the parts of my memory which belong to this GP's executive and receptionists . I cant even recall the experience i had with them so lets just talk about next step of you finally succeed and pass from receptionists and executives team so them The distance between a patient and doctor is minimum 30 to 60 days and if you name two problems you have to pick one and then wait for another 30,to 60 days to be able to speak about another problem . Anyway its just a vulgar joke to people in need of care .
Fatemeh Palizgar: I am pregnant and have gestational diabetes, for the second time the GP’s reception has not sent my prescription letter to the pharmacy and I am out of strips for my blood glaucus monitor. This is very annoying.
Chris Norman: Patient for over 35yrs.Always helpful kind & understanding medical team.Always recommend! Very sad to see so many bad reviews. Personally i still would recommend. All NHS workers r under a "GREAT DEAL " of pressure. Wish public would keep this in mind as they r ALL doing their best in the circumstances. @ CMK Medical Centre. Kkeep stronge my friends. 'PATIENTS' PLEASE TRY TO UNDERSTAND EVERYONE IS DOING THEIR BEST ! Updated 30/11/22
