NACHO GUITAR LESSONS: what do users think?
Phil Birchenall: We have been using Nacho for our daughter’s guitar lessons for around a year, and we couldn’t rate Nacho highly enough. After struggling with guitar lessons at school that had become dull and unsupportive, our daughter had all but given up on playing the guitar. We had a look into what private tutoring was available locally, and Nacho’s profile stood out from the crowd. I’m pleased to say he delivered. From the first lesson in, she learnt more chords in 45 mins than she’d been shown at school.Nacho’s supportive approach, coupled with his playing abilities, inspires and nurtures in equal measures.Highly recommended.
Guy Kilty: Nacho was brilliant with our six-year-old son. In their sessions together, Nacho was patient, enthusiastic and knowledgeable and inspired our son to really enjoy playing the acoustic guitar.
Alice Constant: My son started learning the guitar with Nacho aged 14, having never learnt an instrument before. He has been positive about his lessons from the very beginning and clearly feels at ease with Nacho. I have seen him make good, steady progress and he is motivated enough to practice daily. I would highly recommend Nacho as a teacher.
Marni Lechler: My son really enjoys his guitar lessons with Nacho and we are really pleased with his progress. Nacho is flexible and reliable from my perspective and inspiring and engaging with my son.
Dan Wood: He's helped me improve so much over the last 5 months because he's really patient and understanding. His passion for guitars and the music comes across and is infectious. The fact that he chooses music which I enjoy makes his lessons really enjoyable and helped me find a love for the guitar myself.
Liam Patterson: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueA great teacher who has a lot of time for students. Gets you playing what you're interested in quickly and is happy to teach music theory.
Natalie Sumner: Nacho is an amazing teacher. He is very patient and supportive and makes the effort to match the music choices to the child’s interests. It’s clear how passionate he is about music and that shows in the quality of his tutoring. 🤩
Ally Collins: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueNacho is a great music teacher! My daughter is really enjoying learning to play the drums with his encouragement and guidance. She's been learning for 18 months with Nacho and it's been great to see her grow in her playing and confidence over that time.
Greg Warwick: I've been having guitar lessons with nacho guitar for about 6 weeks now and plan to continue for the future. I've seen a massive improvement as I was trying to learn online and it wasn't as good as having a real guitar teacher. I've found him to be very friendly and patient, he always puts in the extra effort too with sending me worksheets and letting me text him questions. He adapted the songs we learn to be the type of music I like and we're following the rockschool curriculum so I can do graded exams.
Sandra Whittle: From observing my 9 year old son's guitar lessons with Nacho, over the last 2 years, it is clear that Nacho has a legitimate love of music. He has excellent communication skills; offering positive encouragement and constructive feedback. My son has a tendency to get frustrated with new challenges; but with Nacho's patience and gentle encouragement; he perseveres and is now really enjoying playing. Moreover, he is incredibly accommodating of our work schedule and has offered a great deal of flexibility, despite his own work schedule.
Anthony Jones: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueNacho is an excellent teacher and very patient, lesson's are enjoyable and i feel iam learning new skills every time.
Rachel Willoughby: I have been having electric guitar lessons with Nacho for the past 18 months, both at his studio and now on-line. Nacho is both patient and supportive which makes learning so much easier as a mature student. I thoroughly enjoy my lessons and following the rock school programme is great. Nacho explains things well which helps with your practice at home. I would thoroughly recommend.
Patrick Toal: Nacho is an excellent teacher. He is patient, an excellent communicator and really understands music and teaching. He is also very helpful and is goes the extra mile to help on anything I was especially stuck on. I have been paying guitar on and off for years but had never been able to take the next step. However after a couple of months of lessons my playing has improved considerably.
melanie Williams: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueMy son has been having lessons with Nacho for over a year now and loves his lessons. Its great to hear him progress even throughout Lockdown with virtual lessons. Nacho is always patient, warm and friendly.
Maria Victoria Gesteira: Positive:Professionalism
ajay radhakrishnan: My son has been taking electric guitar lessons under Nacho for 2 years now. Nacho is an absolute gentleman and a very good teacher. He has kept the lessons interesting which has kept my son glued and continuing even now . We worked through the pandemic with online lessons which was also very good. He is very accommodative and happy to work around my work timings for the weekend lessons. He is very recommendable for any beginners of any age.
michael livesey: I have been having Bass lessons with Nacho for over a year as a mature student with no previous musical knowledge I am now onto grade 2 and find Nacho helpful knowledgeable and reflective in helping me learn a new skill during a very difficult year thanks Nacho onwards and upwards mate 🎸👓👑
mark jones: Nacho has been teaching me the classical guitar since lockdown via skype. I would recommend him to anyone. He is friendly and patient. I am very happy with my progress. Cheers Nacho.
David Gent: I love my lessons with Nacho! He's a great teacher.
Ian Leslie: I have been having virtual lessons with Nacho for the last 9 months. Nacho is a great teacher! He is very patient and keeps things positive highlighting how I have improved even when I may be struggling. He is well prepared and understands what works. Prior to starting lessons I had played guitar for many years but never really understood the theory or was able to play along with others / songs without the use of guitar tab. During lockdown I decided to rectify this and I’m so thankful to Nacho for helping me discover a whole world of possibilities on the Guitar! Highly recommended.
Andy Sheldon: Nacho has been teaching my son for the last 12 months and from not being able to play a note he's now well on his way to being a great guitarist thanks to Nacho's tuition.Nacho is an accomplished musician who understands the learning speed of my son and tailors the lesson to suit.Along with that, he's very profession, courteous and always on time.Highly recommended!

Tony Watterson Music Tuition: what do users think?
christian boyd: So I started playing in February and thought I would teach myself, but after a couple of months I would find someone to help with the theory aspect of it.Along came Tony and in the 4 or 5 lessons (weekly) I have had since he's made the process a lot smoother and gave me a lot of handy hints and ways to improve as well as a more structured idea of where to go next along the process of learning guitar. As well as a good experienced teacher and someone to smoothen out the process, he's also a gent and couldn't be a nicer person, couldn't recommend him anymore.
Edward Rolfe: I started taking Accordion lessons with Tony just under a year ago and the progress I have made is amazing. He isn't scary like alot of teachers can be and keeps you motivated to keep working hard. He also tailors your lessons to what you want to achieve. I'm a studying actor and am wanting to play my instrument on stage. Therefore my lessons have been focused on passing my exams for my CV and learning to play traditional music from different nations! He has tailored my lessons to my goals and he will do the same for yours. I can't recommend him enough.
Stephen Belshaw: I found Tony in November via social media recommendations for my 9 year old son to start guitar lessons. Tony was really helpful in accommodating a slot for my busy schedule. Very fair price compared to others I had researched. My son had never played a guitar and has come on leaps and bounds thanks to Tony. He has enjoyed going to his weekly lessons and he describes Tony as patient, fun and kind he’s always excited to see what he’s going to learn next!
Pete Duffy: My son has been attending piano accordion lessons with Tony for 4 years. From the start Tony struck up a great relationship with him, taking him on a journey from absolute beginner. He is knowledgeable, professional and patient. He is able to challenge Eoin, and also take into account our own request to learn Irish music alongside a wide variety of other styles. He is flexible and has adapted to using Skype/zoom during the pandemic.
Graeme Jump: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueTony originally tutored me on accordion but subsequently introduced me to the guitar. His enthusiasm, patience, and friendliness make his teaching sessions great fun . Tony's considerable music experience is underplayedbut the student feeds in to it in a relaxed unpressured way.
Bryan Pollard: I have been having accordion lessons with Tony for around 7 years. When I first bought the instrument I tried to teach myself using a tutorial book, it didn't go very well. I started lessons with Tony and with the one to one tuition and detailed knowledge he has I made real progress. I have found that as you start to become able to play at one level there are always more intricate techniques that Tony introduces to help you progress to another level. Thank you Tony.
Steven Pierce: My son started lessons with Tony when he was seven, and we've been delighted. Tony is great with kids, patient, encouraging, and just challenging enough. He listens, and he adapts his lessons to what my son has done and what he wants to play. He gives great positive encouragement, and supportive criticism. I don't think my kid is going to become a superstar musician, so Tony's teaching is even more important: he's learning to play music and to love it.
Mirjam Blaauw: My son has had guitar lessons for about two years and has learned so much, I’m really impressed at how well he can play now. He recently switched to an electric guitar (sorry, neighbours) and Tony has been extremely helpful in advising which one would be best for him. Tony is highly flexible in his teaching, always happy to answer questions which can range from basic technical skills to some advanced strumming technique my son happened to ‘invent’ on his own, he even makes music theory interesting and encourages input for new tunes to learn. The main reason for the progress, however, is because Tony has made him experience that practice doesn’t have to be a chore. The lessons are still way more fun than practicing alone (the chats, the giggles, they’re just as valuable as the serious stuff) but my son has transformed from someone who rushed his homework to be done with it to someone we have to tell to keep it down a bit because, well…the neighbours. Moving his focus from the goal to the journey is quite an important lesson for a 10-year-old.My son’s comment says it all when, at the end of a Skype-session, he puts away his guitar: ‘That was fun!’
Vivienne Cowie: Having seen Tony perform at the North Staffs Accordion Club he was my first choice of teacher. I had been playing the accordion for about 2 years and was keen to learn how to accompany a singer, improve my bass playing and develop performance confidence.Tony has excellent technical ability with a range of instruments and a lifetime of performance and entertainment expertise. His teaching is modelled according to my needs which I regard as an important skill for the teaching of adults. He delights in helping to progress my personal choice of music and aspirations. He has patience, is generous with his time, instils confidence and puts me at ease. He gives clear instruction and provides interesting pieces for improving skills. I very much enjoy his lessons which are good fun as well as effective instruction.I feel I have made progress and have started to perform on a regular basis. I have no hesitation in recommending Tony as a teacher of a range of instruments to all ages. His Skype lessons have been invaluable during lockdown and are an enjoyable highlight of the week. Thank you Tony!
Julie Powell: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,QualityTony’s approach to lessons are perfect. A combination of fun and technical training. My daughter started as a total beginner with no previous musical experience and has progressed beyond all of our expectations.
Franziska Smith: I have been taught the accordion by Tony for 1.5 years now. He is a very good teacher, willing to go through things with you and will let you learn at your own pace. Tony puts effort into helping you achieve what you are aiming for. He is willing to teach you pieces of your choice (will even write them out especially for you) alongside with the 'curriculum' pieces. This post is written on behalf of my 13 year old son.
elizabeth seers: Tony is a really excellent teacher, because he is committed to helping students improve their skills at the same time as enjoying the music. He’s a great mix of fun and high standards, and he goes the extra mile to encourage you to play well. I took up the accordion a while back and he has taught me so much and turned me into a mad accordion lover ( in a good way). He’s also a great musician!
Eric Jones: Tony has been teaching me the accordion since well before lockdown. As a poor music reader, he has (with great patience) taught me to be a better music reader. My accordion playing has much improved and I look forward to our weekly lessons. He has a structured approach but is always happy "add a tune or two" that you may introduce.Since lockdown we have been doing lessons via Skype or Zoom with few issues. We have also recently added blues harmonica to the lesson which I find great fun.Not only a good teacher, but he has become a good friend too.
Malcolm Trippier: Last January 2020 after years of wanting a piano accordion I purchased one. After about a month struggling to get both hands doing different things I contacted Tony. It was the best thing I could have done , as I had an accordion and not a clue how to play it.With a lot of help, guidance and teaching ability he has got me playing tunes that I would have thought impossible when I first started. I am 79 years old and if I can do it with Tony,s help don’t let age or anything else put you off. He has certainly taught this old dog some new tricks. Thanks Tony 👍
Alan Robinson: I have had guitar lessons in the past and none compare to Tony. He is calm ,patient and understanding. He will start with the basics and work up with you for your preferred instrument and genre. He will mix things up a bit to keep you going and interested. I just wanted to play some blues 18 months ago and now starting to understand and read music. Great to be able to carry on via skype now aswell
Simone Butt: Tony's guitar lessons for my 11 year son are inspiring, fun and professional. My son has improved massively and is looking forward to his weekly lessons. There is a good mix of challenging technical exercises and ,often chosen by my son, relevant musical pieces. Tony's communication is also excellent. He's also super patient when he knows my son hasn't practised enough!
Neil Andrew: I find Tonys lessons a pleasure to go to. Learning to play guitar did not come easy to me but his patience and method of teaching quickly gave me the confidence and ability to play fairly competently within a few weeks. The great thing was that after a short while, he allowed me to pick some of my favourite tunes and then taught me how to play them. A big learning incentive I felt.
