Yang Sing: what do users think?

Adam Ali: As a foodie with a fondness for China town in Manchester and a penchant for authentic Chinese cuisine, my experience at Little Yang Sing was a mix of highs and lows.Arriving as a solo diner on a business trip, I found myself sandwiched between two fellow solo diners. To my left, a disgruntled chap lamented about his hour-long wait without any food. However, the swift response of the manager, who promptly apologized and took action, impressed me.Opting for a selection of dim sum to start, followed by quarter crispy duck and spinach in sauce, my order arrived promptly, perhaps spurred on by the urgency created by the neighboring diner's complaint. The service, particularly from Lisa and Chris, was impeccable, with a dedicated water server ensuring my glass remained topped up throughout the meal.Reflecting on past visits, I reminisced about dining here during my university days in the late 90s when it was known as "Little Sister" or something akin. While the nostalgia was palpable, the similarity in prices to those in London left me slightly disappointed.Despite this, the overall experience at Little Yang Sing was positive, with its efficient service, delicious dishes, and a touch of nostalgia making it a place I would consider returning to, albeit with the caveat of managing expectations around pricing.

Katie Barnett: Great Chinese restaurant in the middle of Chinatown. They have an extensive vegetarian menu with so much choice. Tofu and garlic in spicy sauce was amazing. Fantastic service too. Still thinking about the salt and pepper bean curd... 😄Vegetarian options: Whole separate section of menu for veggie options, including dim sum, appetisers and main courses.

Madeline Stewart: WonderfulRecommended dishes Crispy Chilli Chicken, Egg Fried Rice …

Sweet Mandarin: what do users think?

Steven Costigan: First time here and really enjoyed the foodSmall menu but that really works as less choice means you pick better I thinkNice staff not to pushyVery busy but that’s always a good signI’ve been lucky to eat Chinese food in some great restaurants including opium den in Oxford and Hakkasan in Mayfair and quality of food here is comparable to them

Joe Graham: A Chinese restaurant with a full gluten free menu!!! What an incredible find for our short trip to Manchester. To have such a wide choice of gluten free options at a Chinese restaurant was just incredible and so we over ordered, wanting to try as much as possible. We were not disappointed when the food came, incredible crispy salt and pepper wings, sweet and sour chicken, crispy shredded beef and much more. Tasted exactly like gluten containing Chinese. Will definitely be visiting here again if back in Manchester.

Damian Cusick: Food here is amazing and can be made gluten-free if required. Had a fantastic meal, many thanks !Dietary restrictions: All gluten-free if required.

Meryem Tello: We came here today for our anniversary meal and it was so lovely and such a nice experience. The food was tasty and delicious, the staff was attentive and nice. Towards the end of our meal a waiter came over and asked if we were celebrating anything special and when we told them it was our anniversary they asked for our names and 3 minutes later they brought out lovely and kind card with a little gift. It was honestly so nice and made our day even more special. The place is decorated beautifully and we will definitely come again!

Katherine Wakin: If I could eat here every day of my life, I WOULD. As someone who has to eat gluten free, Chinese food has sadly almost always been off limits. Sweet Mandarin changed that!! This restaurant has incredible quality, incredible flavors, and a FABULOUS gluten free menu!! You CAN get the crunchy spring rolls you dreamed of, crunchy fabulous wings, AND delicious entrees. You CAN have soy sauce without worrying you'll get sick. It was incredible! We ended up ordering 4 entrees and 2 starters and just taking a ton of delicious food home.

H M: I visited Sweet Mandarin today and went in with no expectations. We waited outside in the cold for about ten minutes and a chap walked over and set the placard to open but didn't open the doors for us and we had to open it ourselves, which was a bit odd, but aside from that everything was perfect. The cocktails were very tiny for 9 quid. However the food was incredible! Amazing selection of vegan and gluten free options, my mum was in her element. I had the salt and pepper tofu, salt and pepper mushrooms, chilli tofu, green curry and egg free rice. The food was perfect and it was the best Chinese food I've ever had!Not sure of her name but our waitress was really sweet and attentive, and she brought me a birthday card and a small box of coffee creams. I was so taken aback by this lovely gesture! The other lady behind the bar was lovely too. The decor was really pretty and I'd absolutely go back in a heartbeat. Best gluten free curry sauce we've ever had, and the salt and pepper tofu was delicious ☺️ thanks for the lovely birthday meal.

Horace FK: Drinks are ok, Hong Kong styled. The roasted meat are so far so good.Chow Mein is in good quality. However, the rice is not well cooked this time. I'm a little bit disappointed.Staff are nice.Overall is a 4 stars.

Dani Nowokunska: We had the Hong Kong lunch - vegan Singapore rice and vegan Singapore vermicelli and lemon iced tea. Everything was perfection, so well seasoned, vegetables were perfect consistency, tofu was so delicious and soft cloudy texture. Iced tea was perfect too, not too sweet, just right, with nice big slices of lemon. Efficient service too. Highly recommendVegetarian options: Separate vegan menu was useful!

ea sport: Claypot rice is delicious. The dry-fried beef river is a bit different to my taste. The three-cooked rice is delicious. It's quite comfortable to sit there.

The Rice Bowl: what do users think?

Becky Lambert: Two of us dined on the set menu Friday before 4pm. The food was as beautiful as I remember from a fair few years ago! Service was quick, every little detail like serving your rice, changing plates and cleaning between courses was lovely. We had the lemon chicken, crispy chilli beef, rice and noodles. The noodles were outstanding - as was all the meat! Look forward to coming again soon.

Zhivko J: Im not a great admirer of Chinese food, but this place is a hidden jewel. Excellent food, tasty and well presented, enjoyed every bite of it. The staff are quick, very efficient, and make sure you have everything you need at the table. Some of the visitors were a bit drunk but didn't interfere with enjoyment. We shall definitely visit again next time in Manchester.

MADDOGLEP: Flic's advent calendar gift was a Manchester dice roll. We rolled a 4 which ment finding a Chinese. We decided to try The Rice Bowl on Cross St for the first time. A great choice. The basement dining room was about 85% full on a wet February Wednesday. Good atmosphere and service. The portions are large and we ended up boxing up about half of it. Flic had honey ribs to start whilst boss had satay chicken. For mains we had chilli chicken and slow cooked beef with aubergine. Fried rice and soft noodles to accompany. Washed down with pints of lager at £6.75. Will definitely be back, especially as our go to Thai has gone downhill.

Happy Seasons Restaurant: what do users think?

Eugene Khoo: Repeat customer over almost 20 years.Food quality remain good, especially roasts. Unfortunately, prices have become very high. Probably due to their business being good. Even with high prices, Happy Seasons is unafraid of pushing customers away.Seating areas are very narrow and limited. Always felt like being pushed out when the meal is barely finished.

Kirst L: We visited as a friend wanted to try this place. We ordered salt pepper pork chops, prawn won tons, three roast rice, duck soup noodles, black bean rib noodles and curry brisket rice. The three roast portion wasn’t as generous as other restaurants I have been. The char siu was average but the duck and roast pork was nice. The black been rib noodles had the wok hei, which gave it a really nice flaming flavour. My least favourite was the noodle soup, it actually tasted a bit off, so was not a fan of it.Overall I still think it’s overrated and been boosted by Instagram.

Ben Gibson: Absolutely amazing food, very helpful staff and great service, we had a short 15 min before being seated which was to be expected on a Saturday night.Everyone in our group had the banquet, which was £35 per person, and it was great value. The bigger your group the more dishes you get too. Portion sizes were good, and there was nothing left when we finished

Azuma: what do users think?

Edmund Wong: It was a buffet without the buffet but you get unlimited orders like meat. They had a great deal and the drinks were refillable. We got the hotpot and the grill but the meats were a little too salty. Overall, i would visit this restaurant again because of the great deals. One note is that the egg fried rice just needs spring onion and more taste.Parking: In front of the restaurant or around another street short walk

Timothy Allender: . We had the Korean BBQ, it was really easy to order, and you are given a sheet with loads of options. The portions you are given are based on how many in your party I believe, and you are given plenty to enjoy. Between 4 of us, we had 8 different meats and 4 different veggies, and that filled us up! I would personally recommend the squid tentacles and the spicy beef, all the food was super yum but those were my personal faves. Will definitely go back to try the hotpot.

Z Wency: £16.8The unique cooking techniques and wonderful taste allow every lamb chop to be fully absorbed. The skin is caramelized and the meat is delicious. You really can't resist the temptation of such delicious food.Cold lotus root slices

Amy Wu: Super delicious and cheapvery good food with decent price.

Blue Eyed Panda: what do users think?

Dan Lawton: We ordered delivery from Blue Eyed Panda. The food is very tasty and excellent quality of ingredients. The drawback is that it is a bit pricey for the quantity of food, there's not a huge range of options compared to other Chinese restaurants, and the dumplings didn't quite survive the delivery drivers bike ride from the restaurant.
