Town Farm Campsite: what do users think?
Mark Rollings: We've been coming to the campsite for eight years. The views are stunning, the facilities well looked after and the service friendly and efficient. It just loses a star for being so noisy. There are so many groups, kids running round, football games and, even the site staff motoring around on their buggy all dayService: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Sam Messenger: Cramped camping, big groups, and on a flight path!!!
Em Kay: Fantastic place for families with kids. Very friendly staff, beautiful walks in the countryside and loved the food/coffee vans that come at the weekend. Good value for money.Hotel highlights Great view, Kid-friendly, Great value …More
Damian Hill: I do alot of cycle touring and have stopped at many campsites. This one is great, in my top 10.A bit on the pricey side when all you're looking for is a patch of grass, shower, toilet and some water. All very clean and the shower temperature was tested by Goldilocks herself. "Just right"Great views.Bonus of having a kettle to make a brew and some fridges.Staff were all very polite and well mannered. Most customers and their children not too feral. Although the duke of Edinburgh lot seem to suffer from social autism, fortunately they are tucked away on another field.
Ceri Vater: Stayed here for a weekend. The lady that met us on arrival was lovely and really helpful. The fields are level and the views are awesome! We stayed as it was close to the zoo, also use of fridges and freezer was really helpful as we had to store milk for our little one. Asked if we could have a later departure and it was no problemRooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More

mark l: Lovely. Brought our caravan here and got a lovely pitch. Easy to find (one of those places you get to the right place from the postcode). A van comes in the mornings that does breakfast barms, coffee etcRooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Tamsin: Lovely place.Location: 5/5 …More
Jason Palman: Lovely camping site, good facilitiesService: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Dave Jones: Lovely location for camping / caravan / motorhome. Rose and Crown pub (excellent) only a short walk.
recogniseman: Superb country farm campsite. Great location. Good facilities. Showers and toilet room as well as male and female toilet blocks. All spacious and clean. Fridges on site for perishable storage. Fire pits for hire. Sometimes there is onsite food outlets. Twice I’ve been and had fresh wood fired pizza. It was delicious. The games room is a great addition although they do need to add some coat hooks and level out the games tables to make it a more functional space.Staff are all super friendly and helpful. Some pitches have power outlets for vans etc. but mostly it is open grass fields with hedgerows. We will definitely come back and camp again.Highly recommended this site.
Howard Walker: super hill top location, great views, excellent facilities. Campfires are allowed which topps off a great evening, recommendWalkability: plenty of trails up the beacon and easy walking to the local pubsPlayground: nice kids area with some climbing things and swingsRestrooms: two well equipped shower and toilet blocks with clothes washing facilitiesDog-friendliness: dogs allowed
Wayne Mason: Excellent location and facilities super clean, great service with the delivery of fire pits and wood too, great views. Choice of the whole field to pitch up in as I don't think they were technically taking non electric hook up bookings at the time and as much as this sounds ridiculous some shorter grass would have been perfect (we considered stealing some sheep from the neighbouring field to chomp it away for us ha) would definitely book again decent facilities near by too, food and beer at rose and crown down the hill was brilliant, just be prepared for the slog back up the hill on a full stomach and take a torch with you 👍. Would mention you are under the flight path for Luton I'm guessing so regular planes till about roughly 11pm and then I think the first one I heard was around 7am. We booked this site just to test some new kit out as it was equidistant to myself and my mate, perfect for what we needed.
Waltham Chase Village Hall: Fab campsite. Great facilities and friendly staffRooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Mike Pell: Nice clean facilities, good play area. Clean site.Location: 3/5 …More
Alex Martin: Always a nice place to visit
Andrew Douce: A camp site with all facilities except (and who really wants it) internet.Adjacent to an absolutely wonderful walk through an area of outstanding beauty...
Daniel Attwell: Stayed fore just one night in our campervan after a trip to Whipsnade zoo which is very nearby. We never met the staff as we arrived a little late on a wet October evening, but we had been sent an email giving us all the information we needed to find our pitch and the facilities.I have to say the facilities (toilets and showers) are lovely. Very well built and finished and spotlessly clean.A lovely site with a great view. I can't really hold them responsible for the the weather so 5 stars it must be.
Vincent Murray: Quiet couple of nights camping. Nice setup with great views and firepit allowed. Good for access to local walks and decent pubs.
Barry May: Great campsite. Nice facilities, games room, 2 great play areas for kids and tasty breakfast and fish and chip vans visiting the campsite! Really helpful staff.

lynne blundell: Can't fault it! Great views, great pitches, awsome tea rooms, highly recommend
Ian Wright: This is a perfect place to get away to for a few days or more. Spacious pitches, wonderful helpful owners, beautiful scenery, very quiet and clean basic facilities. This is what caravanning is all about...we loved it.
T WW: Just returned from Woodlands, had a superb time. Plenty of areas in walking distance to walk the dogs, the 2 excellent local pubs also in walking distance from a footpath opposite the site. The site is secure with tag entry, the fasicilties are limited, but we knew what to expect before booking as it is well described on their web site. A well kept site, is a very quiet area, easy access to local beauty spots, attractions etc.

Graham Jenkins: Basic but clean and functional facilities. Great location with easy access to forest walks, longer routes or wildlife trust reserves.Nearby activities: Right next to Wendover woods accessible via a traffic free path.
Wil Page: Great little campsite, pitch was perfect, very quiet, and had a great night sleep. The owner was very friendly, and the toilet/shower block was brilliant. Sadly, there are only three available from memory, so I imagine if it was busy, it could be tricky.

Paddy Hopkins: We had our family get together here last year. It was great as the owners were really helpful and provided us with everything we needed and made the whole process of booking very easy. The location is fantastic and there are lots of things nearby to do too like the museum and plenty of walks. We hope to arrange the same this year and look forward to using this campsite again!

Jill and her husband Bill were very friendly and made us very welcome.Never been on a site where tea and coffee, powdered milk, sugar, orange juice and bottled water were all supplied free of charge along with a kettle and mugs!Showers were free!Electricity included in the price! Not only that, the toilet paper was the best quality I have ever seen on a camp site, even the most expensive ones.Camping and Caravan Club andCaravan and Motorhome Club eat your heart out.And I am not a newbie, I've been doing this for over 50 years.

Anna Kimber Tarbuck: Wonderful stay in the bothy hut, so warm and cosy, and beautifully furnished with every little detail thought of, right down to the blankets for an evening round the fire! Friendly helpful site owners, facilities were immaculate, and a beautiful location, we will be back!
Dimitri S.: Really friendly team. Nice size pitches. Not too busy and kid friendly. Everybody in the camp was friendly, kids found friends and played together. Nice views, surrounded by nature, nice hot showers and toilets kept in good shape by the Hill Farm team who were also lovely. Thank you Laura and team for a fab moment and happy memories!Nearby activities: Wendover woods 10 min walk away
Sam: We stayed in the pre-pitched tent at Hill farm camping and had a fantastic stay. We are novice campers so decided to upgrade to the acorn package which included the tent, chairs, and tables so we didn’t have to worry about packing a boot full of gear which was great!I would highly recommend this to walkers (or people who just love peace and quiet).Looking forward to staying here again!
Steve G1982: We booked a pre-pitched tent. It was nice and spacious with comfortable camp beds, and table and chairs. Beautiful location with great facilities, and it was quiet. We only spent one night here but will definitely be returning for longer.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Great view, Quiet, Kid-friendly, Great value …More
Fiona Thompson: Lovely site with brilliant dog walks straight from the caravan. Good facilities, clean and spacious. We were there during term time so it may be busier in the holidays.Lots of birds to listen to and kites gliding over the fields. Wendover woods for walking and a cafe, little pricey but okay.
Jake S: Campsite was really nice. Good sized tent field separate from the caravans. There are 3 toilets all with showers inside. These are kept clean and tidy. There is also a small kitchenette inside area which hot and cold running water and a kettle which is a nice addition. It is a shame the showers have token feed meters, you are given 1 token per person per night for 5mins of hot water. But when paying to camp I expect a free shower. Friendly owner who was on hand to help and give local information. Would be happy to visit again.Nearby activities: Wendover woods is just a 5min walk which saves paying for parking and a nature reserve also close byWalkability: This is in the middle of nowhere so you need to be willing to walk or drive if you require anythingNoteworthy details: Nice site. Kettle and kitchen area included. Showers are not free and require tokens. Can be windy in the exposed tent field.Restrooms: Clean and tidy toilets. Total of 3 units each with shower and toilet and sink inside. Always topped up with toilet roll, soap, cleaning products etc.
Arran Westlake: Absolutely fantastic campsite, we come with our club twice a year and it’s always beautiful, peaceful and a perfect place to stay. Owners are lovely and couldn’t be more accommodating!Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Great view, Quiet, Great value …More

Well done Commons Wood & Caravan & Motorhome Club.Noteworthy details: This is a Caravan Motorhome Club Site it's not an Hotel

Norcott Campsite - Camping In The Orchard: what do users think?
Sarah Lee: Just got back from two lovely nights at this campsite. It's a small orchard with sumptous walks nearby on both common and by the canal. Jules is a calm and friendly host and I found the whole experience very restorative. No showers and basic but clean toilets but the price reflects this. Highly recommended.
Andy Power: This camp site is absolutely amazing the truth is it is simple and that is just what we needed a field/orchard with fire perfection
Melissa Natasha: We stayed here last weekend for a relatives birthday. The location is lovely and the people running it were helpful but not too invasive. The downside was the fact there were rats running around. We think this is because of the free roaming chickens and ducks on the site. Although seeing the chickens and ducks was nice it wasn’t ideal when we were cooking and eating to have them wandering around as they were trying to steal our food etc. The fact there isn’t a shower is fine but the toilet block needs maintaining as it’s starting to rot and also when you flush the toilets the water leaks out of the bottom of the unit into the toilet block. I understand that you only charge £10 per person but even if you upped it to £25 you could afford to maintain it better and it would appeal to more people and still be reasonably priced.
Samantha Horn: We stayed over night in our tent and it was brilliant, really nice way to get the family away from devices
Julia Possener: Lovely chilled orchard camping spot! Basic facilities which we knew when we booked (no shower) but all working and hot water. Bit shabby toilet block but clean and adds to the charm! In the evening, we drove to Aldbury and had a wonderful dinner at The Greyhound and then had a gorgeous walk back over the fields to the site and ran to get the car in the morning. We’d happily come back and a great base for exploring. Special shout out for the free range chickens and the shade of the trees.
JADE WEBB: This beautiful site is tucked away just up from the canal. I recently spent my weekend here (was only supposed to be one day) however I enjoyed the peaceful setting and the lovely host Jules so much I stayed a little longer. This campsite has fire pits provided and is cost efficient. Would highly recommend!
Liam Tidy: Really beautiful spot to camp, I love visiting here.
Andrew Camper: NIce quiet spot, lots of interesting walks near by. National trust common land to explore, a canal to walk the tow path of and a pleasant spot to pitch your tent. I shall go again sometime as enjoy it there.
Louis Rost: Wonderful atmosphere. I'm an avid camper myself and I always camp here when I'm hiking in Tring. It's honestly just so refreshing and fantastic to be in the presence of such a welcoming and kind campsite team. Facilities are basic, but just what you need, and on the (all be it) rare occasion I had a slight complaint with noise from the house, I phoned Jules the campsite manager, and within minutes the problem was sorted. He really does put the priorities of campers first. You're definitely getting above and beyond what you'd expect for this price here at Norcott Campsite. It's quiet, safe, away from main roads, and the location/house is simply stunning.
Johnny O'Sullivan: Awesome place Jules is really cool it's back to basics but what more do you want from camping.....a toilet is a privilege not a necessity so thanks Norcott farm. 😃
tony cairns: I spent a night in the Orchard Campsite on my first bikepacking trip of the year. Jules the owner is very friendly and helpful and I had all I needed. There's a toilet block with hot water, no showers though. It's quiet and charming there's even a duck pond! One of the greatest features is the location only 5 minutes from the edge of Ashridge Estate. I'll definitely be back in the summer
Lee Hathaway: Had a lovely time here, really rustic and proper camping.Owners were really helpful, toilets clean, would stay again.
David K Stockman: Coolest Campsite ever
Clare Cherry: Thank-you, this campsite is peaceful and full of nature including chickens, 😌 would love to stay here again, I was made to feel very welcome.
Lizzy Williams: Great little campsite. Lovely location away from any main roads and very friendly host. 10/10! Looking forward to coming back again
Mike Hooper: Quiet, interesting house/grounds. Camped in an old orchard. Beautiful countryside. Cow Roast pub has shut down though, so couldn't ask for George! Not a lot of hot water.
Tom Knight: I visited in May 2019, and the facilities were fairly back-to-basics. When you had to 'relieve' yourself, the trailer cabin only had a small number of cubicals, which were mixed-gender, and lights would go off leaving you in the dark every five minutes. Nonetheless, the atmosphere is nice, as were the owners. It is only walkers that should come here though, as it is a bit of a mare to find your way to the campsite. Thank you for a nice break!
Melinda Nyn: The drive in movie set up is fun. Very small and intimate but friendly and enjoyable. Bring your own food and drink!
Bea Camarena: We been there 1 night and its amazing. Quiet place , not so big but speciall.** many many butterfly 🦋 ** I love it . Clean toilets and nice people . We will come back for sure 👍 😛
David Lawes: Dirty, overgrown and noisey. We planned to spend two nights but, five minutes after arriving, we high-tailed it out of there.
David Pedley: I was disappointed tbh. The orchard would’ve been picturesque had there not be junk seemingly discarded around the site. It looked like it had been a good while since the toilets and cubicles had seen a decent clean. Shame.
