One of the favorite things to do for tourists is to attend the Changing of the Guard in London. The best known and undoubtedly the changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace which attracts thousands of people ready to wait for hours to see the Royal Guard at their best.
However, it is possible to attend other changing of the guard, which are more intimate and take place in some of the city's very beautiful monuments.

The changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace is best known by tourists who appreciate the fanfare of the royal guard which plays a rich and varied repertoire.

Changing of the Guard on horseback at Horse Guards Parade

A Horse Guards Parade, the changing of the guard is provided by two cavalry regiments.

The troop review: 4 O'Clock Parade or Dismounting Ceremony

Still at Horse Guards but this time in the small courtyard behind the horse boxes, the guards on foot and on horseback are inspected by an officer.

Changing of the Guard at the Tower of London

Every day at 15 p.m., an officer inspects the guards in front of Byward Tower.

 

The next generation Tower of London is only accessible to the public with a ticket to visit the monument.

Changing of the Guard at Windsor Castle

Windsor Castle is a royal residence where the Queen stays most weekends, during the months of March to April and a week in June during the prestigious Royal Ascot horse race.

The ceremony is held inside the Windsor Castle, therefore a ticket to attend.

When? Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday at 11:00 a.m. Not the changing of the guard on Sunday!
