Brief history of the Liberty store
The Liberty store was founded in 1875 by Arthur Lasenby Liberty who came up with the idea of selling items from the British Empire (silks, Japanese porcelain).
In 1874, Liberty created a cotton fabric with a silky feel and floral motifs: the Liberty fabric was born!
As for the store that we know today with its Tudor facade, it was built in 1924 from wood from schooners of the Royal Navy.

Liberty Sewing School
The Liberty store offers sewing workshops every Saturday from 10:30 am to 16:30 pm. You choose your workshop according to your level and the proposed theme: learn crochet, knitting, make a patchwork bag or even a skirt.
The workshop costs £ 65, including the lesson, fabrics and drinks: tea and coffee.
Participants also benefit on the day of the workshop from a 20% reduction at the store's café.

My shopping tips at Liberty
To get the best prices, the best plan is to come at the time of the sales and more particularly during the winter sales when the reductions are more important. They start on Boxing Day and last until the end of January.
The summer sales start at the end of June and go until mid July.
