Rafał Świdziński: I literally walked into the yard and said: I know nothing about woodworking and I want to build a shed - can you hook me up with some wood? The person behind the counter said sure and suggested the appropriate materials and a mini-design off the cuff. Stuff arrived at my doorstep earlier than promised, and now I have a shed and a bit of spare wood to build the shelves in it! Perfect.

Philip Rigby: So happy and impressed with this timber merchant. We arrived on a busy Saturday morning and asked them to do about 30 cuts for us on MDF and plywood (length and width). They agreed and had it done in 30 minutes! All cuts were perfect when we got home. They used a drawing I provided with all of the measurements. Good price for everything - you have to pay for the cuts but this is understandable.

Natasha Sharda: I went on the basic drilling course. The centre was really easy to find from London Bridge Station. I enrolled for the half day course to help me become more independent with DIY around the house and this was perfect for that. I wish I had done this course years ago!

Kev and Rosie McLennan: Excellent course. Great friendly atmosphere and I thought great value for money. I did a 1/2 day DIY Basic Electrics course and walked away being confident and aware of a number of DIY jobs I could do around the house which will save me well over £70 in the next month alone (let alone the future). A great little investment! I hope to come back soon to try out the Plumbing Basics course too. Thanks all!!!

Aliza Patell Ratnayaka: I took the intro to upholstry one day course and was very happy with it. I learned about the tools required and had a go using some of them to take apart the upholstry on a chair before going on to make a seat pad. The Info given was clear and the tutor was very knowledgeable being an upholsterer herself. I wanted to take in my own chair to get advice etc to tackle this at home and both Alison and Jane were very helpful. Have already booked into the next course.

David Luck: We are very happy with the care and attention Hugh paid to us and our request, and we are extremely satisfied with the final fitted wardrobe units. It worked out cheaper and much more convenient to go with Woodworks than with larger national companies offering bespoke wardrobes. We would thoroughly recommend Woodworks to anyone looking to get this done, and if we have anything further along these lines to do we will go to them first.

Inma Melero: I got gifted this gorgeous cushion, handmade in India from this shop. It’s my favourite one out of all my cushions. Only used to decorate but it lost 3 beads and a stud. I took it back to repair and asked them if it is possible to. The kind man tried to fix it for me and he could in the end swap it for a new one! Loved it! Really good seller!
Alfred De Souza: I have only high praise for the professional and friendly attitude of Mo and Sam and the quality of their service when I purchased a chest of drawers last weekend. The trip to Islington from South London was totally worthwhile given the quality of the range of wood furniture on display. Would not hesitate to buy from this business again! Lovely to see such good service from a business.
Kate Maple: Went to the show room and saw the draws I liked, 2 days later they were delivered. I could have got bespoke ones made but this would have taken longer and would only have wanted minor tweaks anyway! Super happy with the drawers, they are solid and very sturdy! Thank you :)

David Bromwich: This is a top builders yard. Great stock and quality of products. Delivery service is easily the best in London. Was 2 tonne bags short for a screed floor. Called up at 10am and delivery was done by 11:30am. Not just a one off and usually get same day deliveries Keep up the good work

Howard F: Spectacularly grumpy staff. Seem to be in a competition with each other as to who can be the surliest. The stock range is good which frankly is the only reason to visit. Update. A year later I’m forced to return. After being ignored at the counter for a few minutes we were eventually served by a friendly person so maybe it’s a step forward.
