The person behind the counter said sure and suggested the appropriate materials and a mini-design off the cuff. Stuff arrived at my doorstep earlier than promised, and now I have a shed and a bit of spare wood to build the shelves in it! Perfect.

London Green Wood: what do users think?

richard morgan: I'm giving it 5 stars, although I've not attended yet, it's something I've always wanted to do. I am looking forward to going and learning different ways of carving wood . And get taught the safe way of handling carving tools .Maybe a spoon .Quite excited 😊 . So induction first.

Sam Evans: If you need to spend some time around calm, talented and patient people while learning to create fun things, I can't recommend these people highly enough. My four days were pure joy, working with my hands, outdoors, carefully guided the whole way. The toasted marshmallows were just icing on the cake!

יונתן צבע: Very nice place, great people and teachers.

Josh Ackroyd: Amazing workshop

Christopher Blomeley: This is a gem of a place high recommended

Ali E: This is a fantastic place if you're interested in woodworks. Quintessentially located in a forest-like park, you have a perfect sense of being in the woods. They have friendly workshops as you can learn to make wooden stuff. There is also a shop for buying hand-made kitchen utensils and similar products.

The Goodlife Centre: what do users think?

Jenny D: If you are thinking of taking the ‘DIY in a day - drills’ class, do it! I was really looking forward to learning about and feeling more confident in using my electric drill, in this course. That said, I really hadn’t expected to learn as much and to feel so confident in all things drill-related, as I did, by the end of the day. Nor did I expect to enjoy the day so thoroughly.Moira has such a natural way of imparting information, with real warmth, patience and humour, putting everyone at ease and ensuring you get the most out of the class.I am so much more confident and capable of tackling my many home DIY projects now.Thank you so much, Moira!

SAVIOUR EMMANUEL: As an ardent and impassioned amateur woodworker, I recently relished the opportunity to partake in the enriching ambiance of The Goodlife Centre, a distinguished trade school nestled within the heart of London. The encounter at this esteemed establishment bestowed upon me a profound sense of inspiration and empowerment, propelling me along a transformative odyssey of learning and boundless creativity. The Goodlife Centre stands as a beacon of excellence, offering an extensive repertoire of woodworking courses meticulously tailored to cater to enthusiasts of all proficiencies. Whether one finds oneself at the genesis of their woodworking expedition or boasts a modicum of prior experience, there exists a course perfectly suited to their unique aspirations. Guiding these seekers of mastery are seasoned instructors, adept in their craft, who manifest a remarkable reservoir of knowledge and expertise, thus engendering a nurturing atmosphere conducive to unfettered growth and personal triumph.Among the many superlative qualities inherent to The Goodlife Centre, its unwavering dedication to hands-on education shines as a preeminent facet. The courses themselves, meticulously structured to underscore practical experience and dynamic involvement, whisk eager students into an immersive realm of woodworking artistry. From the inaugural session, I found myself enmeshed within the rich tapestry of woodworking, acquiring invaluable skills through the auspices of guided practice and pedagogical projects that underscored learning by doing. The mentors gracing the halls of The Goodlife Centre transcend their roles as mere craftsmen, donning the mantle of consummate educators. Their proficiency in breaking down the most intricate of concepts into digestible morsels of comprehension bespeaks a rarefied talent for demystification. With infinite patience, they deftly shepherd their pupils along each intricate step of the woodworking process, their fervor for the craft coursing through their veins, and their unwavering commitment to cultivating an environment of support and camaraderie reverberating through their every action. The facilities housed within The Goodlife Centre represent a veritable haven, replete with state-of-the-art equipment and an abundance of space in which burgeoning woodworkers may joyously flourish. The workshops dedicated to the art form serve as an expansive canvas upon which students may unfurl their talents and breathe life into their creative visions. Moreover, the institution's unyielding emphasis on safety is indeed laudable, as instructors steadfastly ensure that all participants adhere unwaveringly to the most stringent protocols safeguarding their well-being.Beyond the realm of technicalities, The Goodlife Centre forges an unbreakable sense of community among its students. Group projects, ever-present throughout the courses, engender an atmosphere of collaborative synergy, wherein the exchange of ideas thrives unimpeded. This communal bond, forged amidst shared experiences and trials, endows budding woodworkers with a supportive network, facilitating personal growth and sparking the fires of inspiration through interaction with like-minded artisans. While The Goodlife Centre stands resolute in its provision of a profoundly enriching woodworking education, it would undoubtedly benefit from an expansion of its course catalogue, encompassing a pantheon of advanced techniques and specialized facets of the craft. Such diversification would furnish students with an avenue through which they may broaden their skill sets and delve deeper into their individual areas of interest within the resplendent tapestry of woodworking.

Susan G: I did the one-day Painting and Decorating course - it was fantastic. Tutor Moira was so knowledgeable and enthusiastic, the group was not too large to we had plenty of opportunity to have questions answered. Lovely area, had a nice take-away lunch from Borough Market nearby! Great choice of courses, I will be back!

Tara A: The Drilling in a day course was fantastic. I've come away excited to do jobs around the house. The teacher, Moira, was brilliant! Super knowledgeable, friendly and engaging

Natasha Sharda: I went on the basic drilling course. The centre was really easy to find from London Bridge Station. I enrolled for the half day course to help me become more independent with DIY around the house and this was perfect for that. I wish I had done this course years ago!

Alex Horn: Fantastic basket making course with John.

Daniel Glass: Fantastic city centre life skills and workshop training courses. Really enjoyed the one day woodcarving course. Would definitely recommend

Woodworks: what do users think?

Helen Jousselin: Fabulous. Hugh has made for us fitted wardrobes, a bookcase, and for our lounge a window seat, fitted cabinets and floating shelves.Hugh worked with us through the design process, guiding us with what would work best in the spaces we had. Recommending soft gliding drawers and doors which work silently and have enhanced our home. His work is strong, carefully crafted and looks beautiful. We definately recommend Woodworks and its been a pleasure to meet Hugh and work with him.

Christopher Rainsford: Hugh is incredibly patient and contributes great ideas into our discussions. It’s a joy to work with him. The end result is just perfect.

miran goesiel: If you like to learn news skills, I can highly recommend signing up for a Woodwork class. I truly enjoyed my experience!

Abi Kasim: Had a fantastic Afghan wood carving workshop today. Hugh is great! Very warm and welcoming which made me feel at ease, will be going to more sessions.

Georgina Schoeb: We are really chuffed with our new church noticeboard and have received so many compliments from local people since it's gone up. The design has smartened up the front of the church site, while still being in keeping with the wooded feel of the church grounds. It's also given us the opportunity to showcase activities run here at St James' in a way that can be updated as the church evolves. The process of designing the noticeboard involved much consultation and discussion. Hugh was incredibly patient and thorough, ensuring that we were 100% happy with every aspect of the design before going ahead. He also went to great lengths to source materials that would stand the test of time while not going over budget. We're very grateful for his efforts and wouldn't hesitate to recommend Hugh for one-off bespoke projects like this, where it feels particularly important to get it right.

CJ McKinney: Hugh restored an old wooden rocking chair that was in terrible condition - it came up great.

Oliver Gibson: A wonderful experience! A great place for beginners or more advanced woodworkers. Great space with all the equipment needed. Hugh is lovely, very welcoming and very knowledgeable. He provides clear guidance and creates a great atmosphere overall, Highly recommended.

James Fawcett: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Responsiveness,ValueHugh, was great, so insightful and helpful with my own project. Gave me instruction and help but also allowed me space to make my own mistakes and learn! It was a really good experience and one I would highly recommend!

Sandra Lesley: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Responsiveness,ValueI am entirely satisfied and happy with my beautiful bookcases. The service was professional and finished earlier than expected. Great attention to detail and they were happy to source vegan glue for me. I would recommend Woodworks without hesitation.

Barbara Hunter: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Responsiveness,ValueGorgeous bench made by Hugh. He took my initial idea, improved it and I have something that we will treasure forever. Thank you!

David Luck: We are very happy with the care and attention Hugh paid to us and our request, and we are extremely satisfied with the final fitted wardrobe units. It worked out cheaper and much more convenient to go with Woodworks than with larger national companies offering bespoke wardrobes. We would thoroughly recommend Woodworks to anyone looking to get this done, and if we have anything further along these lines to do we will go to them first.

Fran Botley: Positive:Professionalism,ValueExcellent workmanship, quick and efficient.

Cheryl Pollitt: Hugh is a great craftsman. He built a pergola on the back of the house which looks great. He is a very trustworthy guy too.

Carolyn Watkins: requirements, gave sound advice and then designed, made and installed our bookcase. We’re really pleased with the result. Would highly recommend him.

Helen Xanthaki: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Responsiveness,ValueHugh managed to sort out our tired and floppy 1930s kitchen within a day and a half! Lovely guy, really decent, the best tradesperson have used. I would recommend him very warmly. I am just annoyed that he did such a good job that I am not likely to use him again soon!

kathleen taylor: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Responsiveness,ValueHugh built some fitted wardrobes for our loft room which had to fit into an awkward shape with a slanted ceiling and a chimney breast. We were very pleased with the design, execution and general professionalism. The wardrobes were delivered on time and on budget. We couldn't be happier!

John Biggins: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Responsiveness,ValueExcellent service. Highly skilled and reliable. Recommended.

Alicen Dines: I needed a more practical workspace and Hugh quickly came up with really good ideas. He adapted and expanded my existing desk, including adding extra shelving. The result is a new desk, which looks a lot nicer, with no wasted space. Hugh is very professional, with high standards and is totally can-do, from start to finish. He's also a very friendly, trustworthy person.
