Paulina Gorniak: We came just to have a quick look and ended up step by step doing all our curtains and a chair with them. Alex managed to follow our brief very well. We went for different styles in different rooms and his help was invaluable. He was able to present different fabrics in different price ranges so we had plenty of choice. After the order has been made Brain was at ours to check the exact measurements so that the curtains could be perfectly adjusted on the ends in case of small discrepancies in the height of the windows. After everything got installed and we had some problems with the poles Brian was happy to come back several times to fix the problem. Very reliable company and lovely people. We can only recommend.

Adam Wawn: Travelled a fair distance to visit this establishment. Once ‘Bev’ got off her backside, when I showed the type of material I was looking for, her reaction was a cross between raised eyebrows and a snarl. After being begrudgingly shown two samples, it was recommended I try John Lewis or Fabrics Galore. I wanted 20 metres of fabric and had a £1,000+ budget to spend. It is this type of poor service that makes online shopping so worthwhile and justification for the retail high street closing up. If you own this business, there is one good reason why sales may be walking out the door. I would not return to this place if they were giving it away. Avoid avoid avoid.

Usually Bubble: Long journey to visit this store (having viewed their website) and I was not disappointed! Wide selection of fabrics at very reasonable prices. I bought a variety of 100% cottons at prices between £7-£12metre. Served by Gemma who was particularly knowledgeable, helpful and pleasant (unlike her colleague who ignored me and left me waiting whilst Gemma was busy with another customer). Highly recommend a visit - go on - add to your fabric stash!!

Phyllis Haxton: I ordered online though had I known the shop was near to where my daughter lives in London, I would have visited it. I love fabric shops. I ordered Christmas fabrics and found the prices to be reasonable if not the cheapest and the flat fee of £3.50 for post and packing is a wonderful idea which I think more fabric shops should adopt. The selection of fabrics was vast and to my surprise, i received my order two days later. That is excellent customer service and I will certainly purchase from this Fabrics Galore again.

Amara Goel: My joy is sobered by the terrible service at this place -- cold, curt, and unwelcoming.
David Douglas: Lovely shop and lovely people. Great range, hard not to spend money if you come in! They sell a linen in a range of fab colours which comes in the perfect width to make a tablecloth. Just get it cut to length and hem it. Don’t miss the remainders in the back room.
Emily Nightingale: I love this place for the selection of delicious velvets, the back room has end of line rolls and stacks of remnant pieces at discount prices. Lots of beautiful hand printed and woven fabrics. Plenty of pretty ribbon trimmings but not the place for general haberdashery e.g. threads, tools, notions.
jasmine brown: This shop is amazing, great taste in all areas, not just fabrics. Its my go to shop for all gifts. Look out for old Indian tins and other great taste items.

However knew nothing about what they were selling, unhelpful, more interested in the gossip they had to tell and hiding donuts under the table. For the price I was going to pay for these fabrics I want to be able to go in and talk to someone and not be looked at groaned at, then asked what do I want with a mouthful of food... Sad as their fabric was good, just need to actually be able to sell it, I walked out with three other customers all of us were shocked...

Lyston Endeng: I was browsing through their website and could not take my eyes of "Ashley Wilde Whinny Stone" fabric, as it captured my attention. I thought to go in person into the store to have a better feel at the product and i was amazed to confirm that it was as beautiful as it shows online. There was no option to hesitate, i made an order. I used the fabric to make two pairs of pinch pleats curtains and as you can see, it is a pretty outcome. I am very pleased with everything. The material is of highly good quality. My sister who sew the curtains was very impressed. I would like to thank The Curtain Factory Outlet for a good service. The shop in itself and the staffs are very welcoming.
Roza Rezapour: Purchased multiple curtains at this factory outlet. Mark has enormous amount of experience, and patiently explained the different type of curtain design to us.. The customer service was amazing and his manager ( don’t remember his name) was really helpful too. this place is so busy with so many customers and they were short if staff in 3 occasions that we visited. Defiantly recommend the management to hire more stuff as it’s impossible to manage customers expectation with 2/3 people working.

I went there and the price they told me was extremely high. I will not return that ever again, which I find Customer Service very appealing.

Barbara GS: I just happened to read the reviews of the people who have left them over the last couple of years. I have been a client of Claremont for 45 years. I would have to say that of all the fabric houses in the WORLD that I have used, having lived and worked internationally that Claremont is one of the finest. The materials that it carries are extremely sophisticated and outstanding quality, Possibly the people who have written negative or less than favourable reviews do not have an understanding of this or this style is not suited to their tastes. It is hard to fault the quality. The service of those at Claremont is always friendly and helpful. I have gone through several incarnations of Claremont over this amount of years and I could not fault one regime! Everyone has been extremely nice. It is up to date in very subtle, sophisticated, and in a very international way. One star for being another" just another fabric shop" will not cut it, even for a plebe.

This shopping experience was a complete 180 compared to the experience I had at another big fabric store I stopped by the day before…where I left overwhelmed, uncomfortable, and unclear on the type of fabric I should consider (leading me to give MacCulloch & Wallis a try today). Victoria made this process very easy for me by advising on suitable fabrics for a skirt and even helping find a concealed zip for the project. VAL VLOG: Awesome place. Hard to believe old fashioned shops like this can survive in cut throat London shopping environment. I went to select Gutermann Rayon thread for an embroidery to work with. They had exactly what I wanted.

Leighton Smith: Visited in late November. Not much to look at from the frontage, but inside is a colourful and comically well stocked shop. Innumerable fabrics, buttons, threads, yarn, accessories. Staff were helpful. Prices were decent. Quite a fun shop to poke around in. My mom found everything she needed in here. Certainly worth a visit if you need fabric and are in the area. Highly recommended.

Tamay Aldemir: I am really upset about my experience today at Dalston Mill Fabrics. I have waited 2 months to travel to this store because my area lacks fabric stores and I like to see and touch fabric before I buy. The employee at the store was maybe in his late 40s and he overcharged me by £16. When he told me the total to pay I was a bit shocked but my mental maths is terrible and I felt quite intimated as I got a bit flustered and hesitated to pay. I gave in and immediately came back after I walked out the shop and because it was above my budget and I knew I wouldn’t be able to come back at a later date because it was so far. He explained his calculations but it still didn’t make sense. He charged me for 7 meters of fabric when I got 5. He said there’s nothing he can do because I had paid and I just left because I was so upset and intimated. Literally got robbed in board daylight. I had been admiring their fabrics for the last year online and feel so disappointed to have experienced something like this anywhere let alone somewhere I’ve wanted to go for a long time. I’ve emailed the company email and am waiting for the response and will update my review accordingly.

jane Wanniaratchy: Amazing customer service and beautiful fabric. The team are so helpful. I couldn’t get to London to the shop so ordered online snd they contacted me to suggest another colour of one of my materials as it was a better match and they were so right. Truly professional and know what they are talking about, and the WhatsApp service is great. Would totally recommend if you would like 1st class fabric and 1st class customer service. LYNDA B: Extremely pleased with the curtains I had made at Mermaid. The quality of workmanship is excellent and the customer service is helpful, friendly and attentive. We supplied our own fabric but they did everything else including the fitting and supplying of the track all at a very reasonable cost. I am so happy with the service that I have already placed an order for another set of curtains to be followed by roman blinds.

photology: Really pleased with our made to measure net curtains and the adapted heavy curtains we bought. The range and quality of curtains are lovely, and prices excellent. The service is professional and very friendly, and turnaround on curtains very fast. I would highly recommend this shop (which has moved next door to where it was originally). There is also a wide range of quality curtains and fabrics to choose from.

Alison Harvie: I could not be happier with my roman blinds! I handed over a length of my own fabric with quite a detailed pattern - which they made two beautifully matched and symmetrical blinds from, complete with black out backing. Super reasonable prices and quick turnaround. Very very happy.
