London Sculpture Workshop: what do users think?

Cat Moto: Great place, just a bit far to get to from most other parts of London ...

Chris Klimczyk: Had a great time. Perfect intro to welding. Very recommended

Pedro Do Couto Lopes: Silicone moulding course with Anna was very good 👍. REALLY PLEASEDDefinitely recommend 👌🏻

Fani Parali: Great workshop, I got a lot done with the open access sessions, and I was given really good support. Thank you Giles, I will be coming back soon! Ps. the view of the river is beautiful!

Rosina Godwin: I attended the Introductory Welding Class for Artists, and had a really great afternoon! I learnt so much in a short time, with the help of a really friendly and inspirational tutor. The session covered Mig, Tigg, Arc and Spot welding, grinding and finishing. I have always been a little afraid of welding, but after attending the course it is definitely something I would like to do more of in the future!

WRLondon: Did an introductory course to welding for artists, teacher was amazing and within very little time we where all making sculptures! Amazing - also transferred the skill onto my classic mini, and even repaired a friends handrail! Haha! Thanks guys and look forward to doing the stainless steel one!

Brett Banks: Have done a number of courses, from welding to casting in bronze and always found the tutors to at the top of their game. Highly reccommended

EFlatMajor7: Fantastic facilities with friendly and knowledgeable staff. The welding and moulding making courses I attended were well organised and I came away great new skills.

Becky Brewis: Excellent training and a well appointed studio in a beautiful location. Lots of space!

Lizzie Hughes: Top notch facilities and approachable professional tutors sympathetic to the needs of artists and designers. I've attended a welding class and a mould makjng class and both were excellent and very good value for money.

Catriona Whiteford: This is the most amazing space full of helpful technicians, an extensive range of courses and workshop facilities. I was lucky enough to do one course here and there are so many more I am hoping to do.

Louise Clarke: Well where do I begin! This is a fantastic sculpture workshop fit for novice and expert alike. The courses are excellent - value for money, specialist tutors and clear achievable projects that are completed in the course so you always have something to take away. The atmosphere is great - welcoming and definitely not intimidating. The courses are fun, practical and confidence building. I would highly recommend going on a course here or signing up to become a member. Great community workshop.

Dr Carol MacGillivray: is lovely, knowledgeable and openly engaged with all levels of student. The facilities are great and I love their studio location on the river. I have taken several classes at LSW

Joseph Hazelwood-Horner: Brilliant workshop, incredibly helpful & knowledgable staff. I enrolled in the introductory welding course and would definitely recommend!

Stephen Stockbridge: An absolute asset to London, a place where making and sculpture are taken seriously. Well done Giles and your team for your courage to run such a project.

A Lo: I joined the bronze casting course which took place over 6 saturdays, each session about 6 hours long. I think it has been one of the most interesting creative experience I’ve had...Giles, our instructor, is really friendly and extremely knowledgeable. Given the fact that he is a professional artist/ sculptor himself, he has a great eye and is very instinctive in regards of the execution of a design. We went through the whole process step by step; the pace is not intense at all and very relaxed, but somehow we managed to cover a lot and a lot of students ended up working on more than one piece of work. The studio itself is bright and clean, with beautiful views over the Thames. Giles kept a very nice atmosphere in the studio. I just thought my time here was very enlightening, and also therapeutic! The workshop is open source and offers membership which allows members to work on their projects in their own time, for a fee. I have since signed up and it’s been great. Highly recommended.

jennifer price: . I learnt so many techniques, processes and how to use a range of awesome tools. Everything was so hands on that I felt the training really sunk in. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM.At least 3 people out of the small group on my course had done numerous courses there before so that felt like a stunning review in my opinion as I began. I’m now trying to decide between a mould-making course, maybe some copper sheet sculpture or a furniture building class next. Maybe once I get the hang of it all I’ll become a member as it’s an open access workshop too and then you get access to all the machines and tools etc, not to mention the space.

Martin: and the teachers were wonderful and very attentive to everyone. I feel like we really learned quite a lot over the two days of the course. We'll do the glazing course as well now, continuing our pottery adventure. Thank you LSW!

Amy Folkes: Learnt an incredible amount and had a great time while doing it!

Heatherley School of Fine Art: what do users think?

Swati Sucharita Dash: My dream college

Leon van Zweel: What a lovely experience to see the students work. My wife really enjoys her art classes at Heatherleys and I enjoy watching the paintings and sculptures in a jovial atmosphere.

Dinx Jacobs: Heatherleys has been an empowering spring board for my further education and career. Most importantly my passion for art and its endless possibilities is ignited every time I walk into the building.

Mary Volk: I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Heatherley's to anyone either new to art, experienced at it in some way or who have been away from the practice for many years. The tutors are experienced and sympathetic and are wonderful teachers. Heatherley's welcomes everyone, from all walks of life and all ages. The most important thing for me is that it's a vibrant and friendly community of like minded people and fellow artists, and communities as such are hard to find these days. To be cherished.

Kati Aitken: who were all very professional and inspiring. Heatherleys takes pride in teaching drawing skills, but for me even more helpful was hearing from teachers what else is involved in a contemporary artist's life, as they all continue to do art themselves. When doing a full time course it's important to be self-motivated though, as there is a lot of work involved and three taught days per week translate to at least five days of painting if you want to get the most out of it. Also, it is obviously not possible to share the same artistic vision with each of your teachers but I think at Heatherleys you can develop your own vision and style quite freely.

Paulina P.: I have been coming to the school for years now, starting with part-time courses and currently finishing full time Diploma in Portraiture. Very stimulating and enlightening experience for anyone preparing to be an artist. Not free from artistic challenges and obstacles, as an artist's life should be.

Patrick Palmer: One of the last proper art schools around. Bit quirky but to learn traditional techniques in drawing and painting it must be one of the best. I learnt loads...

Ms Jones: The home of portraiture, oil painting, and all things fine art.

art CLASS London: what do users think?

Theodore Zamenopoulos: but with the freedom to explore and develop their own concepts, directions and to some extend their identity as artists. Rebecca has created an open and creative space for artistic development rather than a typical curriculum led program. I really believe that most young people will deeply enjoy but also grow and develop their skills and interests in her studio – so I would unreservedly recommend her class. See you there!

Gale Foster: and my daughter

Joe Carlo: Fantastic vibrant art classes

Gillian Yudkin: Dubravka, who runs the classes, is a major inspiration. She encourages everyone to be the best they can. Regular exhibitions of our work at the end of each term, while scary at first, are a brilliant way of motivating us. And lovely people populate the classes!

Debbie Karp: Highly recommended! Art Class is a wonderful, inspiring and nurturing place to be creative, to learn & grow. Dubravka provides a lovely, well-equipped studio space, into which she puts a huge amount of effort - from the fantastic still lifes to the end of term exhibition. She guides us, teaches us & encourages us all to improve. It's a lovely & supportive community that I enjoy immensely.

Amparo Toboso: art CLASS is more than art lessons. We do learn and develop or skills. However, Dubravka has also created the enviroment for students to do, understand, feel and speak Art.

Patricia Sheldon: Have been attending this art class for 5 years now and have learnt a lot, from the basics of composition to techniques of painting with acrylics. Enjoyed doing life drawing, still lifes, landscapes, lino cuts and venturing into textile art. Dubravka Kalinich is an inspirational teacher and puts on great end-of-term shows!

Renate Shaw: Michael Shaw attends this class and considers it the best he has been to. Instruction is excellent and facilities are very good. A great variety of techniques and styles are taught and encouraged.

Guinevere Tufnell: Dubravka is a gifted teacher - full of inspiring ideas, and with a remarkable ability to give just the right amount of help when needed. Beginners and improvers alike enjoy our class, where I have learned a lot and enjoyed hours of companionable activity.

Julia C: This is an excellent resource in ever respect ...I cant add more to the previous review.Highly recommended!

J CG: Fantastic Art on display at graduation show. Fine art, mixed media as well as wood and stone carving works available to view and purchase.

Sushi Queen: Positive:QualityI’ve studied here many years ago ! I loved it

William Thorneycroft: Best art school I've been two, I mean, it's the only art school I've been to but it's still great.

Anshika Art: It seems very nice online. I would definitely like to study here.

Nikkie Pop: This is where they are breeding Artists and Art Conservators in harmony and happiness. An Artistic Heaven!

Oliver Epp: , and it was one of the best decisions I have ever made. It’s incredibly important to find a school that appreciates you. I am lucky enough to have benefitted from the generous donation made by the valued trustees, who support and believe in City & Guilds of London Art School; I was awarded the Painter-Stainer’s Scholarship, which has enabled me to focus on my practice without overbearing financial worries.Prior to my time at City & Guilds of London Art School I was an Art Scholar at Charterhouse School, and I have felt being here, in smaller community, seeking out advice and support has never been easier. It’s much more intimate, much more personal, and much less like a business. We get spoiled with tutor supervision, with regular tutorials. The other art schools I looked at before applying didn’t offer that. We have the opportunity to give feedback on the syllabus, and what happens at school evolves organically, through our regular meetings with the Board of Studies. It feels as if the course gets sculpted by our needs and interests.
