BookMongers: what do users think?

Sophie Franke: If you‘re in Brixton/London and looking for a great secondhand bookstore with a bunch of hidden gems, look no further and visit Book Mongers. The staff is lovely and helpful and the cat is adorable, even tho I wouldn’t tell him that - pretty sure he thinks of himself as majestic. The shop was a highlight of our London trip.

Stuart: Good secondhand bookstore. A little chaotic but if you ever need a book, just go for a wander around and you’ll find something interesting. The cat is a bonus and the staff are very friendly.

Thomas Donigan: One of the best book shops I have ever been to. Truly one of a kind.

Ayush: Such a fantastic little bookshop in Brixton. Very affordable finds, including.a beautiful little kitty who elegantly lays on the couch at the back!

Jade Pope: Lovely great selection of books

Jamie Hughes: Overwhelmingly good. Wish we had more time to browse. Still left with 3 books. Super affordable and friendly

Rebecca May: i ain’t been here but the fact that there’s a cat already tells me that this is five-star worthy

Deniz Ateş: I stumbled upon this hidden gem of a bookshop - charming, warm, and with a great selection of philosophy, politics, and psychology titles. The prices are fantastic, and the cozy atmosphere makes it a joy to browse. A must-visit for book lovers!

Keven Skiles: Charming little book store with lots to look at but my main complaint would be the organization of everything. Nothing was in alphabetical order and an author could be in 20 different spots in the same large section or in other genres. Guess it’s just the OCD book nerd in me. Definitely worth the stop, just show up about 30 minutes after open time to be sure they’re open and that’s not just from me. That was from other patrons that were outside with me waiting for them to open. I did snag some really fun finds and you probably will as well.

Greta Lowe: Great bookstore, wide variety of genres and really helpful staff! Would recommend and will be back!

Nicole Leah: A great place to spend your day perusing lots and lots and lots and lots of books covering broad and diverse topics and themes. I left with four books even though I hadn't planned on buying any. The person serving was friendly.Good prices too.

Noa Marson: Such a cool place. Popped in just before they were closing but we still got a good look around. Great, varied selection of books.

Alter Ego: They have a cat living in the store - that’s already 5 stars. don't touch him, the cat doesn't really like your human limbs. The store is well stocked with a variety of literature. there is a little more fiction than non-fiction, and in the politics section, left-wing views are rather represented. the prices are very reasonable

A. Pilgrim: Very helpful

A G: Dreamy spot in Brixton to sit and read, or find total gems to buy. Full of character and lovely staff. I love this bookshop.

Susan Rossi: Best used bookstore anywhere

Benjamin Stocker: Best bookshop in the city

LK B: It's a beautiful bookstore with a great wide selection of books. They have classics selling from £2, many are even brand new. Will definitely visit again when we come back to London.

jeff benjamin: An original interior here pulsing with oodles of atmosphere.A wonderland for the bookishly inclined, seemingly in disarray, with a credible selection of titles across the genre spectrum. The familiar present but also digression from popular mainstream expectations.Staff friendly unobtrusive and helpfulHere it's feasible and likely to find something 'off the radar' at a reasonable price and in good condition.Counts among London’s best second-hand bookstores.

Stuart Mercer: Lovely old fashioned bookshop, full of interesting stuff with little nooks and crannies to sit and readGreat range of books, good prices and lovely atmosphere.

Maka Gujadze: Great selection of books for perfect price.

Erig Billinghurst: Very kind staff.

Silvia: This is a good second hand bookstore, good selection of books and good prices. Not much available for Fantasy lovers although they do have a good selection of classic Sci-Fi. Bought some classics from them in very good conditionP.S I was a bit disappointed the cat was not there 🐱

J K: Books and cats, love these kind of shops.

Mark Sintetos: One of the best I’ve been to in London and I seek em out

Worlds End Bookshop: what do users think?

Sham M: Really tidy book shop. Lots of books from rare books, first editions and books galore

Magnus Johansson: Charmig liten antikvariat med vettigt utbud och priser för sin storlek. Trevlig herre bakom disken.

Jay “Scope” Fraser: I popped into World's End Books, something I had been meaning to do for, well, years! This was an excellent decision. I could have spent hours in this compact, but clearly and tidily laid out gem of a bookshop. I was most struck by the wealth of categories of books they hold. Right across the board. I was greeted by a charming man by the name of Bernard. He was polite, knowledgeable, and above all he came across as an honest gracious chap.I felt absolutely comfortable leaving a selection of books there, not for a moment anxious about them holding onto to them.Without going on, and I could, this is what to me a bookshop SHOULD be like. Unpretentious. Peaceful. And stocked with surprised.Thank you for a great experience.Maj.JJFraser esq.

Hay Cinema: Beautiful bookshop with hand selected stock. Helpful knowledgeable staff, would highly recommend!

Kian G: Ordered Online. The condition was excellent as described, delivery was very fast and it was packaged beautifully. Lovely treat to come home to on a Saturday.

Margaret Freddi Allen: lots of querky books and lovely staff

keith fox: Excellent shop, rare books at a great price.Very courteous, helped me find books for thesis.Well worth a visit.

JIGNESH PARMAR: Nice place to buy books and Return

Sarah Eden: I love stopping by this bookshop - always something new and interesting, and a great mix of contemporary fiction, classics, cookbooks, and books in languages other than English.

J: I didn't take pictures as there were other customers inside and I didn't want to kind of intrude on their privacy. But the shop, albeit considered a smaller bookshop, has a nice collection. Clean books, clearly labelled shelves and helpful staff. They don't have an online directory to show you whether they have which books, so everything is just on the shelf as is, but staff are friendly and willing to help. I got a nice biography to bring home and read.

Anna Pembroke: Best selection of a second hand bookstore I’ve ever been to! Lovely staff who were willing to help with whatever I asked.

Gary Braithwaite: Great book shop

Kim C: The loveliest charity bookstore - a great selection of books that are always in good condition and wonderfully curated. I've lost many happy hours in this shop and always leave with a bag full of books! Children's selection is extra special.

Anthony Chan: Good second hand bookshop very cheap prices friendly staff

mark farag: An amazing selection of books, at good prices, all for charity! Staff are friendly too and they often have good jazz playing.

Harriet Read: This is a very friendly and reasonably priced bookshop. I wanted a lovely set that had an unmarked price; I googled the average sale price on eBay and offered that amount, the staff were happy to accept.

Peter Wren: Very decent 2nd hand bookshop. Range goes beyond usual fiction, probably reflects the local community that donates. So worth a look for history, politics, cookery, YA.

Johannes Kramer: Great place and good selection of books and cards, great place to buy a gift

James Clive-Matthews: Superb selection of books, in good condition and at reasonable prices. Some unusual ones and some real bargains. Ended up spending far more than intended - always a good sign.
