Ninja School: what do users think?

Paul Wilson: I cannot praise Ninja School highly enough. The staff are brilliant. It's perfectly pitched for kid level. They constantly promote kindness and compassion along with discipline and self-accountability. Along with that the children learn physical co-ordination and self defense. I would highly recommend it.

Jodie Tacey: My son has been attending the ninja school since he was 3 years old. He absolutely loves it and looks forward to going each week. The ninja coaches are amazing and all do such an excellent job. My son has learnt so much. Highly recommend!

Kat Mattison: Our 3 year old son loves the Ninja Cubs class. Ninja Jon is really good with children. He gently nudges the children to focus on the exercises and they learn an array of physical skills in a playful environment. My son loves going every week and had visibly become stronger and better at gross motor skills over the past months.

Evri: By far the best activity for my little one - all the ninja masters are brilliant. They have helped my son to grow both in physical and emotional terms and their support has been really invaluable.

Simon Moore: Ninja school has been a great experience for our 6 year old. We wanted to sign them up for a mixture of reasons such as learning self defense, instilling mental resilience, body confidence and the ability to say no in relation to their personal space. We've found all the Ninja teachers compassionate and caring and really focused on helping give a well rounded experience for body, mind and spirit for the kids in helping them develop in themselves and their confidence. It's also great that they're really flexible about catch up classes if they miss one.The parking in the Lee gate car park is free and easy. They came well recommended and I'm glad we joined. The only reason I'm marking it as 4 rather than 5, is that we've recommended them to several parents who've tried to sign up but found the communication wasn't as hoped and felt they were stuck on waiting lists without updates.Edit 1/8/22: marking to 5 stars for the very transparent response. Much appreciated.

Randa: and over the years, the ninja instructors have become role models to my children. I recommend them to everyone. If you have children, you must bring them here. They say it takes a village to raise a child. We are blessed they are part of our village.

Mary-Anne Moffatt: Absolutely brilliant! My 5 year old loves it and they are just great with the kids. We also love the ethos of the school about respect, listening and learning.

Manuela Soares: The team at Ninja school make this the best martial arts school for children in London. I speak with no hesitation - the love, dedication, creativity and sportsmanship of the instructors really come through. They really raise the bar for childrens clubs services. Both my children attend the Ninja school and absolutely love it there. My 9yo daughter started at Ninja cubs at 4yo and is now a shadow belt. My 6yo joined recently and has quickly become more centered and aware of his worth. What an inspirational bunch, kuddos to the Ninja team! And Thank you for the long lasting influence that I know you will have on my children and on our family. We love you guys!

Nik c: The Ninja school trainers are professional, sincere, caring and work well with the parents and students. This is by far the best martial arts camp for children in South East London and I highly recommend it. Discipline, skills, camaraderie and fun are just a few benefits children get from attending Ninja School. My 11 yo daughter has been attending since she was 5/6 and still thoroughly enjoys it. Ninja school is a family and one that you need your children to become a part of!

Alice Makinson: Positive:QualitySuper friendly and professional. My 6 year old son loves it. They have a really positive attitude towards training and outside of the training also.

Jacqui Edwards: My 6 year old has completed two terms at Ninja School and loves it. The instructors are great with the children, and are very quick to assist with any issues. They are also great at working with the kids at their own pace. They’ve also been really on the ball with Covid protocols, and we’ve always felt safe at the club. Definitely recommended

Elisabete Freitas: Absolutely amazing team!!!

Kathryn Klaentschi: My boys have just finished a week of ninja camp over the half term holiday. They have had the best time. Progress and positive behaviours are encouraged, rewarded and celebrated. In their words ‘it’s the best club we do’, ‘it’s even better than football!’

Zoe Scott: My daughter is really gaining in confidence since attending Ninja School. She has a determination to progress. It's a very positive environment and I completely recommend it

Nia Stewart: have been going to Ninja School since they were 4yrs old and still absolutely love it. Great fun, great discipline and the ninja team are second to none - they really care about the kids and their progression/well-being. Ninja school is physically and mentally demanding but the instructors are always so encouraging and professional. Both of my boys have benefited hugely from their direction and dedication. Can't recommend Ninja School highly enough!

Faye Scott: has pretty much hated or been indifferent to every activity we’ve suggested or that he’s tried. But Ninjaschool, he loves!! We’re so glad he’s found a place that he’s happy and feels confident and that will, of course, turn him into a fully fledged ninja who can protect me in my old age. The instructors and atmosphere are great and, from an admin point of view, they’re fantastic and responsive as well. I wish my daughter’s gymnastics club could take some pointers!

Xen-Do Martial Arts: what do users think?

Milo Georgiou: Incredible dojo, been training under Xen-Do for almost a decade now and must say, I will continue to train with them for as long as I can.Highly recommend to all levels, all ages.No discrimination, all dojos under Xen-Do give every human, all shapes, sizes and backgrounds a chance to train and give you their full commitment.Strongly advise to trial Xen-Do at least once in your life!

craig kelly: Love this place. I have been training here for years. I always feel amazing after a session…Ouss..🥊

Bayan: One of the best decisions I have ever made! The staff are wonderful, helpful and will always be there for you! And it’s much better than joining a gym!

Dawn Powell: Xen-do Baker Street . Great Martial Arts school .Come train with us .Great teaching all round

Ade Talabi: Excellent and challenging classes

Katherine O'Brien: Started Xen-Do to learn a new skill and keep fit; it’s definitely ticked both boxes and many more. A challenging full body workout each week, great Senseis and friendly students. Couldn’t recommend more

Travis S-W: Friendly Sensei’s Great activity to do each week, with a sense of achievement after each class and friendly

Razberry LTD: Love this Dojo, great sensei’s, students/classmates and great environment and facilities. I come here twice a week and im always motivated to come back and improve!

Neil Burbage: Xen-Do Martial Arts is a fantastic place to train, and if you put in the effort, you can achieve amazing things.I have been coming to classes for six months and have made real progress in learning the art of Kickboxing. The Sensei is first-rate and provide an outstanding quality of training whether for a group or personal class.Baker Street dojo is a fun and friendly place to practice and socialise whilst getting those impressive results.Joining Xen-Do and signing up for two classes per week were the two best decisions I made this year. Ouss.

kevin cox: As much as I enjoy a sleep in on a Saturday there is nothing more invigorating than the “learn to spar” session at Baker Street dojo. The clue is in the name this is where you can sharpen up your skills without fear of getting unnecessarily injured. Under the expert supervision of sensei uri with his rapier sharp wit and Sensei Kuba, always ready to give some one on one advice and encouragement. The sessions always have a good cross section of grades and ages so everyone gets a chance to learn something new. So what are you waiting for come on down.

Renato Cecini: I really enjoy my time at Xen Do Baker Street and I would strongly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a friendly and professional place where to train in martial arts. The instructors are extremely helpful. I am always looking forward to the next class. Ouss

James Donkin: Xendo Baker St is a blooming marvellous place. I go here on my work lunch breaks for a proper workout that's demanding but also has a practical purpose. Great friendly teachers who know exactly how hard to push in a martial art that builds confidence and flexibility. Can't recommend more highly, Sensei Kuba is an excellent teacher

Kama: I highly recommend this club. It is fantastic! All the senseis are super, very experienced and highly skilled, very dedicated and kind at the same time. I love it!

Mayra Sofía: Today I had my 1rst. class and it was fantastic. I have no experience in this sport so I was a bit scared, but the Professor Kuba has been very patient and technical so has made me progress rapidly in just one hour. I will definitely recommend it!

Bujinkan Marial Arts in Central London: what do users think?

Gisella Doulton: , one of its real advantages is that the majority of the techniques, executed correctly, can have an impact on a much larger opponent. It is also a benefit that training is not segregated by gender/weight – training with people from a variety of martial arts backgrounds/with a variety of strength and skill levels is much more realistic than training only with people of the same size/background. It is great for general fitness/flexibility

Anahita RezvaniRad: I absolutely love training at this dojo. Joined 11 years ago with zero experience in any martial arts and this club has changed my life. The 3-hour sessions are the highlight of my week. As a woman, I often find martial art settings intimidating and uncomfortable; not here! Our instructor is the best! He is intelligent, talented, patient and interested. He is always studying other martial arts as well as ours, and is constantly developing his practice... we are lucky to get to learn to look at other martial arts and sports differently and grow.I have met my best friends here; people whom I would have never met otherwise. Can not recommend this dojo highly enough.

Oliver Stevens: I've been training here for over 10 years and other clubs prior to moving to London. It's safe to say: the club is like a family where you will be welcomed with open arms.It is incredibly rare to find a club with so much combined knowlege and experience. Better yet: everybody wants to share their skills and help each other grow.Do yourself a favour, stop reading, open your calender and add 20:00-22:00 this Tuesday at The Place, Flaxman Terrace, London. Hope you meet you then!

Alex Cooksey: A great club with a terrific teacher, it's been going for decades, and a good number of students have been training with the club for 20 years or more, with regular visits from old friends and people we've trained with along the way. New students are always welcomed and there's generally a beer or two afterwards on the local pub for some chat. The material art taught is primarily Budo Taijutsu, made up of 9 Japanese schools, some going back about 900 years, with a nice mix of modern responses to MMA techniques to keep it relevant. It's friendly and informal, the colour of your belt is more a clue as to how gently your partner should throw you then anything else.

Derek Isaac: Excellent training ,lean something every time ,I attend a class ,everybody very helpful and respectful ,no egos everyone just wants to learn , instructor all ways willing to explain the techniques very good club .

Patrick: Very practical and effective technique. Excellent instruction from charismatic and fun teachers. Highly reccomend

London london: A great club- no egos, no posing, just people keen to develop as martial artists. Its been around for awhile, so there is alot of experience, and a real respect for understanding and countering other martial arts techniques. Be prepared for a more realistic take mixed in with traditional close combat and weapons skills though. There are now a few affiliated clubs too- instructors whom over time have set up locally, and then come in to train together

Jaime Barrachina: A truly excellent class. I was pleasantly surprised at the level both of the instructors and the class in general. The teacher is one of those more mature practitioners that both understand the technique and temper the classes with more practical scenarios while keeping a constant contact with the techniques as they are taught by sensei in Japan year by year, and it shows in truly enjoyable lessons. None of that mindlessly copying techniques you get some places, but the more wholesome process where a technique is worked through, built up and explained where learning happens. If you're like me, new to London and wondering if it's the right class for you, maybe looking to pick it up again after a extended hiatus, or thinking about trying out a class for the first time, I cannot recommend it enough.

The London Wing Chun Academy: what do users think?

Sergio Murati: Great academy for both beginners and more advanced individuals. There are plenty of classes daily and different type of martial arts to train.

Vale Tina: Great place to get fit and learn to fight in a good environment good crowd

Cory Smith: The academy is a great place to learn how to first protect yourself mentally and physically. There aren't many places that can offer this level of attention in different martial art disciplines at one time.

Toby Hayter: Brilliant academy led by fantastic, friendly, knowledgable instructors. No egos here, just a like-minded bunch looking to better themselves through martial arts.I'm so glad I chose LWCA as the academy to start my BJJ journey and highly recommend LWCA to anyone else looking to do the same!

J T: Wing Chun guy for 3 years before coming here. Can say the lessons are beginner friendly, Instructor/Sifu Mark Philips and his senior students are enthusiastic towards helping new students.Sifu is humble, kind, and open minded. No toxicity exists in the dojo.Sifu is well trained - teaches Wing Chun, Sanda Kickboxing, Brazilian Jiu-jitsu well. As a Wing Chun practitioner myself, I can confirm his skills are of expert level.Sifu also produces high level students. I only met a few of his advanced Wing Chun students but they are all capable of applying Wing Chun. You will learn a lot here!

Ariane Brimah: The classes are extremely fun, and the instructor has decades of experience to share, so all the information from the classes is reliable and easy to learn and build from.

Michael Buckman-Cowling: I’ve been training here for years and have met some of my dearest friends Training here.Great facility, excellent training and amazing community 🙏

Sujith KS: Knowledge is power, those who seek knowledge can definitely choose this place.Personally I'm getting more than what I paid for so definitely value for money.

Izzet: Friendly, welcoming martial arts centre, with patient instructors and the fantastically knowledgeable Sifu Mark Phillips. Been going for 2 months to learn Wing Chun and thoroughly enjoy it!

Elena V.: has now find the club that fully meets his exacting expectations. Even if he is a black belt in kickboxing, he felt like a beginner when he first started at this club. He found that the level of professionalism, the attitude to training, the focus and belief in over coming all adversities were sky high! This club is now become his second home, he is there every single day without fail. Sifu is the best teacher he ever had and really has brought out the confidence and the mental power in my son as well as his physical stamina and abilities to a higher level. The financial commitment each month is a minimal requirement in comparison to the vast return on that investment. Rest assured if you come to this club, you won’t be disappointed.

Veliko Iliev: Always a pleasure to attend.......

robert jasicki: Fantastic place, friendly people, professional coaches, best place to improve your martial arts skills

Coco_ Loco_Uk: Great group and atmosphere led by Sifu Mark Philips always attentive and impeccable always ready to transmit us new and effective techniques and to transmit the passion for this art of BJJ. Thank you so much 🤙

R T: This is a fantastic place to train in martial arts. I take the BJJ class and the instructors, Sifu Mark, Mike and Herb are all excellent. All extremely knowledgeable and really great teachers, particularly good with people starting out. Everyone is friendly and welcoming and the vibe is great. I could not recommend this place highly enough.

Jessica Gagalang: and teaches us how to apply what we’ve learnt to real life situations, as well as understanding the mindset of people, and how to deal with those who leave you with no choice but to fight. We can't praise this place and all those who are a part of it enough - all the instructors are so helpful and cater to your needs, regardless of the size of the class or what level you are on. We highly recommend training here!

NINJA KIDS: what do users think?

vanessa fouquet: My eldest son has been attending Ninja Kids class since 2019 and he absolutely loves it!From the young kids class where it was more about using up their energy and getting the kids introduced to martial arts to the older kids class where proper skills are taught Simon’s classes are a great balance between structure and fun. We’ve now enrolled our youngest son who is also really enjoying himself and would recommend this class to all parents looking to get their kids started in martial arts or sports in general.

Serigne Saliou: Serigne saliou Thioune like broadfield

Carpe Diem BJJ London: what do users think?

Joel Gerson: . Class was a blend of levels with beginner trials in attendance

Matsu: Recently dropped in to a nogi class at Carpe Diem, highly recommend! Very friendly vibes, top notch instruction from Ed, great rolls

Alberto Ral: Nice BJJ academy, kind people and great fighters.

Sarah Watkins: My daughter has joined and loved it. The coach Ed was brilliant. Explaining things and showing she loved it so much I had to sign up before we left

DFJr: Dropped in while traveling and had a great time. Welcoming environment and solid technique.

Robert: We'll run sessions and you can have a free trial before you commit, I'll be back for more!

Jessica Jaro: TL/DR: I dropped in on Carpe Diem BJJ in London and had a very good experience. 10/10 would recommend.I am currently in London for a work trip and needed a gym to drop in on. After some recommendations here and Google, I chose Carpe Diem BJJ. I was the only woman on the mat, which is something I am used to. But I am coming back after hiatus because of pregnancy, pelvic floor dysfunction, and ab separation. The instructor, Leo, took time to ask me before class if I had injuries and then even came by during techniques to help me with my positions since hip mobility is a huge issue for me right now. Leo even talked to me after to tell me his thoughts on my style and where he would have me focus, which was super awesome of him. I really appreciated the whole experience and highly recommend this gym to anyone passing through.

Summie: Reopened. Friendly, super clean with quality tuition

Roger Ver: Fantastic place to train when visiting or living in London. Friendly and clean atmosphere.

Katy Moran: I visited Carpe Diem, as I couldn’t get to my regular academy due to work. A lovely gym with a friendly and welcoming vibe. I found their style of BJJ to be very ‘flow’ in style, with a huge emphasis on technique. Because of this I would say this is a great academy for anyone but especially any women who wants to start BJJ. Thanks for the welcome guys. 🙏

yoonyoung jang: Best gym ever! Professional instructors, wonderful team members& hyper clean mat always make me have a great time at there.

Artem Poteshkin: I have been training with Carpe Diem for over a year now. Amazing place with super positive vibes and friendly atmosphere. A lot of focus on technique at the white belt level and actual rolling at the all belt level. Much respect to Tsuyoshi and team who give it all to create such a great dojo!

M E: Been here a month now. Have only been to white belt classes so far. Laid back and technical approach to training. I've enjoyed it so much I've signed up for the full membership.

Tyler Lowe-Fowler: Really one of the best gyms in town, absolute top class instruction from very knowledgable professors.

Alex A: I had an amazing time visiting Carpe Diem BJJ London! Tsuyoshi is a great instructor and his students were both tough yet very technical rolls. The gym is in a convenient location and the space itself is clean while sporting a very unique/cool vibe to it. I highly recommend folks living in/visiting London to train here ASAP; can’t wait to visit again!

Henry Williams: Excellent place to train with quality instructors and solid technique work. Very welcoming environment that is clean and safe. Have already learned so much since joining in September! Would definitely recommend 🙌👌

Shaolin Temple UK: what do users think?

Rainer Deyhle: Great and authentic martial arts place with a prayer room and a real Chinese master from the Shaolin Temple China

Kev M: Great Escapism, Great Instructor's, Friendly Environment. Expensive Annual Fee but Everything Cheap in life is Inferior, Tasteless.

Rip: a temple, for promoting positive energy, focus and excellence. a root to our well springs, a revocation, a summons back to the place of our inception and resurrection......I am there for chi gong, a regime to promote health, thro endurance so one is able to better endure the burden of occupying the mortal coil thus existance becomes more cordial and less burdensome and serenity and grace may yet be given a chance to cohabit along with being.

ewelina wysocka: They are the Best of the Best!!!

Soo: I began training with Shifu Yanzi in 1998 and at Shaolin Temple UK when Shifu opened it in 1999 at the Tufnel Park site. It's iconic in the area the big red gates are the only sign it exists on Junction Road and then when you walk down the ramp you enter a totally different environment. There is a lot of Shaolin culture to be experienced there including martial arts training, qi gong, meditation and all are welcome.

Sabrina Mohamed: Really great and fun place to train, the shifus are all so wonderful and knowledgable and care so much about students progression.

Mark S: I used to attend Shaolin Temple back in 2015, and never found a place to train like it after I moved. After jumping back online to see how they were doing, its great to see there classes now online, and I signed up to Qigong, for me this is the best place in uk to be for Qi Gong and Kung Fu. 👍💪🙏

Tailoring by Blueman: One of the best place to train mind, body and soul.

Julian Coll: Best martial art school in the country

Farough Khodadadi (shi heng Ru 霍法如): 😊🙏🙏🙏

kate norman: I started the Qi Gong classes at the beginning of lockdown and can honestly say that it's been the best decision Ive ever made and has changed my life, body and mind. All the Shifus are very passionate about their practice and this clearly plays out in each class not only this but offering their wisdom after each session and during. I have learnt so much and feel so much healthier, this will now be a lifelong practice for me. Qi gong has so many health benefits and has really brought about my life force.Communication has been excellent throughout, whenever I've had a query or needed to speak to someone I've had a response almost straight away.I cannot recommend highly enough the Shoalin temple, the Shifus and their classes. I look forward to visiting and taking part in classes at the temple in the near future.Thank you so much.

Andrei-Alin Popescu: Positive:QualityThe Shaolin Temple is a unique place in London. Like an oasis of tranquility and wisdom in this crazy city. The teachers are the real deal and can teach kung-fu for all levels, and much more for those willing to learn.

Dan: An official Shaolin Temple in London: we are very lucky.

Bablox 001: Definitely, worth a visit at Tufnell Park to be an instructor for your circle.

张永平: Can contribute to the promotion of Chinese culture

The Budokwai: what do users think?

John Poulain: Really well run Martial Arts Dojo. Has a gym, showers, changing and holds regular Judo Gradings. Great venue!

VRoom Glasgow Team: Fantastic Judo practices.

Cornel Dan Paunescu: Very nice 👌

Alexander Gonedes: The Budokwai is truly amazing. I would totally recommend it. There are changing rooms, showers and a sauna avalible for use, with world-class instructors who teach five different martial arts: Judo, Karate, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Aikido and Hontai Yoshin Ryu-Ju-Jutsu. There are also guest practinioner classes, such as yoga and pilates and toddler classes as well as very good camps on school holidays. In judo, karate and BJJ, The Budokwai offers a full range of classes from Beginner level, right up to international and Dan grade level. There are people in every size, coming to every class, meaning that the biggest people don't practice with small ones. The instructors are very kind and supportive and they will help you prepare for your next belt, or get some training done properly. I would highly recommend The Budokwai to everyone and encourage people to come.

Paul Roberts: Best martial arts club around. Quality and history... Now freshly refurbished post lockdown.

jojo: Positive:Communication,Professionalismbest hobby i picked up in 2019☺️after i got attacked by a knife last march i started going to classes here. Leo Wing Chun Chinese Kung Fu: what do users think?

Asya Sosis: Sifu Leo’s wing chun class is like no other! Leo Au Yeung is incredibly knowledgeable in this and many other martial arts, he knows exactly what he’s talking about when he teaches and he always aims to teach his students the best skills possible. His explanations are always clear and fun, his class is filled with positivity and humour. He creates an atmosphere of mutual respect, support and warmth, and he’s always happy to help everyone understand the material better. I’ve been in his school for over a year now and I watched him constantly work on his own skills, as well as perfecting ways he can get understanding of his martial art and practice across to his students. I fell in love with his school from the first day because of everything I’ve just listed, and because you always feel like you can achieve everything you aim for in his classes. But most importantly, you have fun as well as perfect your own wing chun practice! His class changed my life completely. A year ago I was depressed, out of shape and struggling with direction in life. But thanks to Sifu Leo’s unique way of teaching, I’ve awakened my deep passion for martial arts, and became incredibly motivated to learn and keep practicing. Today I’m feeling my best most positive self, I have confidence in myself and what I want from life, and I consider Wing Chun Kung Fu as something that is at the heart of my life. Had I gone to any other Wing Chun school, however, I would most likely have grown bored and frustrated within the first few weeks. Leo Au Yeung’s teaching and practice is unique and amazing!

Caylyn Chang: I've always thought Tai Chi was about slow and gentle movements which was only suitable for seniors. But Sifu Leo really changed my perception towards Qi Gong. I've never seen anything like this! The whole concept about manipulating your internal energy and using that as control is just incredible! Its been such an incredible journey with him. Absolutely loving it!
