Archive Bookstore: what do users think?

Graham Wilson: First of all, Tim, who was in charge, could not have been more accommodating, and helped me find the music I was looking for. I know the shop is cramped and I am forced to agree with other reviewers that this is part of the shop's charm. At the end of the day, it is a second hand book shop and it is only to be expected that it will be replete with second hand resources. Most customers would be disappointed if it was anything else! I bought five music books and, as well as helping me find them, Tim gave me a substantial discount because I made 'multiple purchases'. This is consistent with the reviewer who pointed out that this is a shop where you have to 'argue up the price'. I am delighted with the service as well as my books and consequently, I will be returning to this shop on a regular basis.

paula: Really enjoyed my visit, it was interesting and I found a great book here

Aaron Walderslade: A helpful and old school established bookshop.

Santiago Santiago: Fabulous choice of secondhand music books and sheet music

Rowena Rowley: What an experience, Absolutely wonderful, thank you so much for existing, and also for the tea and biscuits! Next time I’m in London I will be sure to come and find you and bring some biccies!

Em Cheramie: An incredible bookshop with a wide variety of genres. Some really wonderful finds. Best bookstore I've ever been to.

alex: this place is amazing. haphazard and very charming. they've even got a piano downstairs for anyone to play!

Annie Wilkinson: Wonderful shop! The owner is delightful and so knowledgeable.

Not Noodle: I'd of been there longer.

Ana Monteiro: Great selection of music.

A London View: This was a really cool shop, it is a bit of a throwback to the heyday of HMV. I have not see so many dvd, blu rays or 4k disks in such a long time.

Emilie Kleiss: great for retro music lovers! they have any popular and even more niche music artists

Jay Walker222: Probably the best store for movies, tv series and music i‘ve ever been. Prices are more than fair there. Had an absolute blast there

Abid Hussain: 1st time visit, didn't have enough time to look around but will be coming back as nicely labelled sections covering both DVDs, 4k and vinyl's.

Kasturboros: . There aren't many shops like this still proudly flying the flag for home entertainment, so maybe give them your support next time you're passing :

Leon Garner: Best selection and price for books.

Lukylu 11: Amazing shop full of music. As a Kpop fan I was pleasantly surprised and I loved the selection. If you are in London looking for Kpop and other music and films DEFINITELY give FOPP a visit. I hope I can come back in the next few years!

Simon Cooney: A good range of music and dvds stocked. Pre-lockdown there were a lot of bargains to be found. Sadly but understandably this is now a memory with vinyl and cd's priced at the high end. Still bargain books and dvds can still be found.

Oxfam Books & Music Islington: what do users think?

marc higgins: Excellent selection. Tidy and well organised

Kyle: Good selection of books

Deniz Ateş: Love visiting this place whenever I’m in the area. Offers a range of books with unexpected finds, especially in philosophy and science. Highly recommend!

Leena Kaur: Good bookstore, can be a bit pricey but it is for charity and you do find some gems for great value. 🤓

David Jones: OK, but inexplicably pricey on occasion.

Leanne Tsang: What a great find to stumble across! A great selection of books to choose from across the genres and the staff are all very lovely and helpful too.

Eva Dixon: was "cheap" in a charity shop when I couldn't afford it.An update a year later: considering inflation is at 13% the fact books here are more expensive than ever is ridiculous. Often cheaper to buy used online with shipping. As a student I can't afford anything here. Great book range though.

Michal Przychodzen: Good chance of finding a decent book

Christina Kotsaki: What a lovely shop. Always neat and tidy and with a big selection of books, music, children's books and some toys, foreign language books, magazines and so many more. Prices are great too. I paid for a brand new book The life of David Hockney, only 3£. Highly recommended!

Russell Anderson: Small selection of reasonably priced goods. Need more menswear!

Ana P.: until you've purchased them...

Penelope Elphinstone: Glad it's open again

Caroline Brooks: Almost flat access coming into the shop. There's an upstairs & no lift. However the staff were diligently helpfully. On the ground floor you have access to fiction, crime, literary fiction, poetry, sci fi, fantasy, travel, autobiography, sport and children's books. Plus rare and old books. From my wheelchair I could reach the second highest shelf but the staff offered as I came in to reach stuff down for me, so they are aware of limitations their shop has for wheelchair users. I do remember the stairs from pre wheelchair and found them steep and narrow.

Oliver Jarvis: Great bookshop! Always a great selection and a lovely atmosphere too
