Hobby's Ltd: what do users think?

Dayana Martinez: Absolutely impressive, it has everything to make models. A super extensive and complete catalog. In the store you see many models but they give you the catalog and whatever you want from it they look for it for you. To all those whose hobby is to make miniatures, I recommend this shop. It also has a website.

Peter Jones: Original house built for Christmas 1984. Had lots of use. Refurbished June 2019. Amazed they still had original plans and parts. Service was by return of post. Excellent company and product.

Chris Hoskin: Excellent service ant fantastic stock for the model maker and hobbyist.Dealt with this company in my teens (and had Hobbies Weekly on a regular basis). I am now 80.

JB: Absolutely terrible service. Customer service simply don’t answer your queries. Delivery, which you pay for is very slow. They also sell via other online retailers much cheaper with free delivery so buying from them seems like you’re being ripped off... which you essentially are. GO ELSEWHERE!!!

Alex Morgan: Made an order just under 2 months ago. They took my money and sent a receipt, then radio silence. No confirmation of dispatch, no order arriving, and no response to my emails to sort it out. Would not try them again

Linda Mitchell: Their customer service is non existent, their response to items not received is abysmal, hopefully once my missing item is received I will never ever have to deal with this company again. They definitely have a sales prevention team on the end of their telephones and their website which crashes continually. If I could leave zero stars I would

Isidro Zoroza: Wow, modelers paradise. Couple your trip here with a visit to the RAF museum next door (reserve a full day for experiencing both fully) Incredible selection with all the rare brands and kits so hard to find. I left with two full bags:) The chaps at the store are great and will help you out.

Nicko Goncharoff: Great selection, highly knowledgeable, friendly and helpful staff. I can (and often do) spend hours at this shop and always leave with more than I planned to buy!

Mark Russell: Knowledgeable owner, lots of kits- planes tanks guns, some figures. Lots of paints. Cold though today. Pity the shopkeeper.

Matt Daugherty: Fast friendly service, these people know their stuff! I would highly recommend Hannants for any and all of your modeling needs! Thank you all!

Mattias Sjösvärd: Although they have a very detailed web shop, nothing beats browsing the shelves.

Alistair Taaffe: Only discovered the shop today.everything the modeller needs in one place.Very helpful staff only to willing to give advice and tips.Great to meet you guys.

Northfields Model Shop: what do users think?

Ahadu Chase: These reviews must be old because when I went it was not that great. First off the shop is cluttered with items making it impossible to walk around and just shop, the owner has to get everything and it doesn’t provide you with any options if u came in without something in mind. The owner was sitting in the dark in the shop cluttered saying that he was “tidying up” which couldn’t be because the store is filled to capacity. The owner also seemed as if he didn’t want to pull anything off the shelves and show me, and u can blame me since your shop is the way it is, this was definitely not a pleasant experience. If your in London and traveling like me I would consider Janes trains cause north fields model shop is not great, it’s cluttered to the brim and the service is horrible

steve nicholls: Travelled half way across London. Arrived just after 4 to find shutters already down. To say I was disappointed is putting it mildly.

Brendan Smith: What an amazing find. Floor to ceiling full of models and treasures. The owner is a lovely man, passionate about all things hobby and only too happy to stand and chat. Pop in, you never know what you might find.

Mike Fall: A really pleasant knowledgeable owner.Very helpful.Shop full of models of all ages and makes.Well worth a visit

Lorraine Blackwell: Made a special trip here to pick up some things for my husband’s model railway. You can hardly get through the door. There were a few things my husband was interested in buying which were at ceiling height and all we were told was he couldn’t reach them and that was it!! Strange as the owner had been complaining people aren’t buying anything and he needs to sell stuff, yet when we wanted to buy items he just said he couldn’t get to them?? I would suggest this is the answer as to why he isn’t selling anything, nothing to do with people not buying, but more that they can’t buy anything. Really annoying after making a special trip there. The owner is a lovely man, but he needs an arctic to clear the shop and then sell it.

Stephen Parker: My father in law is in his 90’s and recently visited this shop, the shop owner was very knowledgeable and talked to my father in law for a considerable amount of time and managed to locate everything that he wanted for his train project. My father in law is still speaking about this shop days after visiting so it must have been a wonderful experience. He will be visiting again very soon. Thank you Northfields for making a mature gentlemen very happy. Not many shops or service like this left.x

PHILIP WAINE: I placed my order on Monday afternoon and it was delivered by Royal Mail on Wednesday. The packing was very robust. I had emailed to clarify delivery provider and received a call back very promptly. First class service and a very competitive price. Thanks

Mark Curle: Ordered an item online on Monday around noon and it was with me by the end of the day on Wednesday. The price was better than anywhere else online and postage was included too, with the item well packaged and protected in transit. In short: great prices, fast dispatch and good attention to detail. Recommended.

Patrick Davis: Steve, Good afternoon. Enclosed is a photo of the E-flite Hurricane Mk I on her maiden flight. Everything went great and She looks wonderful in the air. Thank You for the awesome purchase experience. Enjoy the photo. GOD BLESS Semper Fi Patrick

Julian Hollingshead: Great service and fast delivery. Kept me updated on my web order and called when it was sent. Arrived very well packaged and in perfect condition too. Definitely recommended.

Glennrid 61: Fantastic service from West London Models, spoke to them on Monday about a Futaba T18SZ, they went off to check stock and rang me back straight away, we arranged special delivery (at my cost) as I needed it by Thursday latest, item despatched that day and arrived with me by 11.00 the next day (Tuesday). Could not fault the service, they were very knowledgeable and extremely helpful. Would recommend them without hesitation. AL

Jesse wiltshire: This local model shop is packed from floor to ceiling with models, ships, cars, planes, helicopters, boats, hovercrafts. There are tons of remote controlled and non remote controlled models to suit everyone. A real paradise for children and adults alike. They have a website and a number you can reach them on. The owner Rob is really really helpful. Totally recommend this place A1 help and support. 👍 We bought our first RC plane here pictured. Tons of fun.

Harry Saunders: amazingly helpful, the man went above and beyond to help me out. defiantly recommend

Bob Beaumont: Great model shop with helpful and knowledgeable staff

John Smith: Great little shop close to Bromley Town Centre selling all parts for model aircraft. The owner Rob is very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful.

Alice Lottie: Great local model shop! My partner needed a part for his Tamiya car that is no longer made but the guy who owns this lovely shop helped him with how to make it and provided the parts to do it.

Maybe it's because I'm a Londoner: Rather dissapointed. This is one of the very few Hobby/model shops left in London. I went in for glow plugs, a glow starter, battery pack, fuel and possibly more should I have needed it. They had 1 very old glow plug that looked as if it had been in the shop for as long as the shop had existed. A glow start and charger that was 3 times the cost of any I had seen elsewhere Various other options were offered but all involved 12v batteries connectors and tons of added costs needless to say I left them all. A rechargeable battery pack and charger... they had none at all... The guy was very busy (understandable) but I had rung ahead and asked for all of these parts specifically. I had also asked if he would be able to look over my RC vehicle to see if there was anything more I possibly needed to which he agreed but upon arrival he was too busy to serve me and instead employed the help of a very lovely lady but unfortunately she seemed to have no idea what anything was or where it was kept and he was too busy to look properly. I ended up leaving after close to an hour of standing waiting and not having been able to purchase any of the parts I needed barring 1 glow plug... About 1 hour and half drive either way so a completely wasted journey. Shame I had high expectations of this shop.

Thomas Stratford: First time visiting today. I have to say what great little shop, it is certainly well stocked. They have a good choice of new stock and pre-owned items. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. Highly recommended !!

Peter Goddard: Wow, very impressive setup. Lots of stock on the shelves very easily identifiable. A little disappointed with monies I received for items I sold but understandable in the present climate

Anil Gademsetty: Great model store with a vast selection. My son loved it in here so suspect we will be regulars as we build up his train set.

Clive: First time I have been to the shop and glad I went very friendly staff lots of knowledge very helpful lots of stock I loved it like a kid in a candy store 👍

Rory Stewart: Excellent model shop. Friendly staff and a good selection of new and second hand model trains. Well worth a visit.

Sean Berry: I brought a Scalextric car in for an electrical repair. The first thing the incompetent guy did was break the rear spoiler as he didn’t understand it was offset to one side to prevent the cars colliding on track. They repaired the wiring and charged me £7.50 for the repair which ought to of been free when you consider that they broke my car. The spoiler has since fallen off as it was glued on in a shabby manner. No attempt made to obtain a spare from Hornby in Margate. A good model shop is a vital resource these days but this shop is tacky and unprofessional , never again.

Mohammad Reza Salamati: Totally unexpected great experience. Was walking by and seen some interesting troll and knight looking toys. I walked inside and was greeted by a very friendly member of staff. Next thing I know I was painting little figures and learning about playing Warhammer. A fantastic hour spent doing something new and learning from someone passionate about all things Warhammer. Great experience and highly recommended. Thanks.

Ben Kratz: Amazing Games Workshop / Warhammer official shop ! Staff is really great as well !

Kylesku Dane Ellis: Great staff and service. Very willing to spend some time and find products but also talk to you and make sure you have everything you need.

Alex case: Very enthusiastic staff. The lady who spoke to us was very nice and new lots of what she was talking about.

Sean W: An excellent store with a huge range and super friendly staff but clearly forced by corporate to ask a million questions of everyone who enters. I don’t blame the staff who are all lovely and very helpful, and the shop has a huge range, but whoever demands of them to chase every customer around the store needs to let them do their jobs and not insist they pester every customer the whole visit. Otherwise, hard recommend you pop in!

Colin Liew: Went there to get starter kits for my son and nephew. Helped by Pablo. He showed me how to play a round with the new rules and gave me additional information on free shipping from the store at Tottenham. Good range of 40K and Sigmar.

Louis Cecile: This is a perfect store for all your needs for hobbycraft. The store is large and spacious. It can be a little difficult at times to find items, but the staff are very helpful for your needs. The store is well stocked with all manner of items from knitting accessories to paper crafts for all manner of events. The prices can vary from reasonable to expensive in comparison to online stores. However, it is useful for seeing items and having a good knowledge of general prices. The tills can get busy, but service is generally smooth. Recommended for enthusiasts.

T Siu: Great customer service. Very attentive.Large shopfloor space.Lots of items on sale including seasonal products.

Shumana Begum: I like Hobbycraft, the staff are always very helpful and friendly. They have a good collection and a very big store. Staff jump onto tills quickly if they see the queue getting long. But the shopping park is horrible, the bushes outside when walking into the shopping park has DOZENS of rats running around. It’s disgusting and they need to take these bushes down or at least do something to get rid of the rats.

caxap n: Disappointed As a tourist I planned to ship there directly rather than order online. Unfortunately, wasting 2 hours in getting there and back I also found almost 0 selection of what I needed - fabric dyes. Wasted time. Otherwise would have bought dozens of colors. Prices are good though

W Wan: The store has very good selection of art and craft products. It also has many children creating materials. Sometimes it has workshops available. It is very inspiring store for art and crafts lovers.

Izabela Maria: Amazing stock! You can found there everything from the website. Shop is clean and good organized

Steven Elliott James: Found exactly what I needed. Great signage enabled me to go straight to the right place. Good customer service.

bea guimerà: Love the place! They have almost everything you need for your crafts

Scarlett Richards: My sweet haven! Always has why I want, staff are always friendly and sweet and know how to help and point in right direction

Martin Macarthur: Just bought my first ever RC car from here. Not only are these guys super friendly but they patiently helped me to set it up, both on the phone and in person. My choice to buy in person from a specialist shop rather than go online was the right decision. Many thanks. Martin
Response: Thanks Martin for the great review. Enjoy your car and hope yo see you again soon.

Response: Thanks for the great review Simon. Hope to see you again soon.

Response: Thanks Robert Glad we could help.

Hamleys: what do users think?

Jacquie Kiltie: After visiting London a few times my son finally got his wish to visit Hamleys and from his perspective it was VERY impressive. The sheer size of the store alone put a smile on his face. But an 11 year old is easily pleased and you can look on the website for the store info. I consider it my job to tell it like it is. Before visiting please be aware of a few facts that aren’t so widely advertised. * Theres every chance you will have to queue just to enter the store. * The queue is unpleasant, poorly thought out and unpleasantly managed. * Once inside, the staff are not particularly pleasant, child friendly or helpful. * The store is NOT interactive in any respect, in fact children are discouraged from touching displays. * There are no workshops, areas to encourage play or demonstrations in-store. * The toys are well displayed according to brand, type of toy etc. and they have an excellent range of toys. * My 11 year old quickly tired of “window shopping” after he had found the toy he wanted and had most fun posing for the camera next to his favourite displays. * In summary its not an attraction despite the hype - its simply a large toy shop.

Menachem Adin: Cool & huge toy store. Crowded but a great place to visit. Has something like 5 stories, each one dedicated for another age or concept. Has Harry Potter store at -1 storey

Somewhere Sunday: I just absolutely love this place, it makes me feel like a kid again, so much amazing stock really well laid out store, the staff interaction and display is second to none. This truly is still a retail gem and cements the opinion that physical store fronts are required over online only services. Thank you for the incredible experience, each and every time.

Rikki Patel: Good selection of arts and crafts materials here and fairly priced. Has everything painting and drawing supplies to knitting and sewing materials. One thing to watch out for is the parking. This retail park gets really busy and the parking wardens are militant

Elizabeth Vincze: It is a very good place for those who like the art and handcraft, but nowadays the range of items is less than before was. I am missing the crochet treads, a bigger range of fabrics and more food colours.

Bev Marsh: Naz, the manager was absolutely fantastic when we were unable to do our acrylic paint pouring workshop. Exceptional customer service. Never met a manager who went above and so beyond.

Sajjad M: Get your arts and crafts stuff here 🙂

Alister Noronha: Woow!!a very nice place for people who want to try their hands at something. You never know, you might get a liking to some arts and crafts and probably discover a hobby. They have a huge collections of all types of materials. The sales representatives are very helpful if you require any help searching for stuff.

Miss Cha: During my recent vacation to London, I decided to pick up a mid-size package and transport it back home. Even though Hobbycraft had no store policy for packing large boxes, I was pleasantly surprised when staff member Smiljana went out of her way to help me pack it safe enough for airport travel back home. I appreciated her gesture and was very thankful for the help.

Josh M Paul: As an artist, it’s immensely important to me that I can rely on a good informative service and quality products to use. This establishment has proven not only excellence in customer service but a wide range of products for any artist or crafts person. If they don’t have a certain product on store they’ll go out of their way to ensure they can get it. But why four stars you wonder? Well, the security operative can be extremely intimidating and perhaps more knowledgeable of the policies this company holds. This particular branch allows dogs (as well as guide) and the notice on the store is evident. One particular member of staff was rude and bullish to an elderly man who visited with his dog. The store allows dogs into the establishment and I was shocked at the behaviour and tone frome one particular security personnel. I’ve taken my pooch on a few occasions with no issue. To leave on a positive note for hobby-craft, their online services are second to none and products range from high well known brands to their own in-house product brand. Deliveries are always on time (from personal experience) and only once was their a hiccup which was put to rights very swiftly and with full communication on the matter. I would advise that training and information in house on certain matters improved, to maintain a reputable name and reputation in all. I trust this company for its knowledge on crafts and arts. Give em a go.
