ROKA Charlotte Street: what do users think?

Zeevi Shalgi: אוכל מעולה שירות טוב מומלץ בחום

masada brafman: אוכל טעים מאוד, כל מנה יותר טעימה מהשנייה. ממליצה בחום.

Robyn Lewis: Great food and service. I only gave 4 stars for atmosphere as it is quite noisy, in particular if you eat early as we did and there are children around. Fantastic meal. I would say the wagyu sashimi was misleading. It wasn't sashimi, it was more like nigiri. We did miss a couple of things from our order but actually that was fine because we were stuffed. Loved the tuna tartare and sesame spinach in particular. The black cod was outstanding.

Francisco Gutierrez: Was on London during a business trip, this was totally over the daily budget i had for per diem but it was totally worth it cause its the best sushi I’ve ever had. Order some salad appetizers and some chef selection nigiris and sashimis too, everything was fresh and tasted amazing. I wish i could go back and keep tasting everthing else that was on the menu. 100/10 , if you are in london and do not mind spending a few extra pounds to get some high quality sushi and great experience go to this place.

Marcin Siwicki: Sure, here is a short review about the place called ROKA Charlotte Street:ROKA Charlotte Street is a Japanese robatayaki restaurant located in London. It is a popular spot for both locals and tourists, and is known for its delicious food, its innovative cocktails, and its stylish atmosphere. The restaurant is decorated in a modern Japanese style, with dark wood furniture and minimalist decor. The atmosphere is always lively, but it's never too loud or crowded. The menu at ROKA Charlotte Street features a variety of robatayaki dishes, as well as a wide selection of sushi, sashimi, and other Japanese dishes. The food is all made to order, and it's always cooked to perfection. The cocktails at ROKA Charlotte Street are innovative and delicious. The bartenders are always happy to create a custom cocktail to your liking.

roberta mesiti: Roka è un luogo magnifico. Il cibo è eccellente, il servizio è molto attento l'ambiente è di grande atmosfera

Ido Achrak: While the food and service were great, the place was just too loud..Could hardly to to anyone that was not directly next to me.The food was really good. We tried a lot of options and we're satisfied with all!! 🥂

Daniel Licudi: Roka Charlotte Street is beautiful experience. The stunning kitchen is open plan and has a beautiful pieces of wood around it where diners can gey up close and personal with the action and chefs. The restaurant is bright and airy, there are many tables but well spaced between each other so you never feel you are encroaching on another table of diners. The food is exceptional as you would expect from a one Michelin star restaurant, everything on the menu is stunningly and lovingly made with incredible care and attention to flavour and balance. The tasting menu is a real highlight, incredibly well put together building in taste and texture and exploding in a beautiful crescendo of flavour at the end.A real highlight was Marcel, an asset to this restaurant with character and personality, knowledgeable and helpful. Watching him flit amongst the tables and work added to the experience at this restaurant.Stop reading this review and book a table. You will not be disappointed.Exceptional.Vegetarian options: My father is vegetarian and opted for the tasting menu, Roka were fantastic, seamlessly engaging with us and ensuring the tasting menu was adjusted to suit his preferences and needs.

William Chamma'a: Good food

Damian Barczyk: Roka on Charlotte Street is a culinary gem that offers an exceptional dining experience. The quality of their sushi is outstanding, easily making it one of the best sushi spots in London. I had the pleasure of trying their tasting menu, and it was nothing short of amazing. Every dish was a feast for all the senses, including smell and sight, adding to the overall delight. It’s definitely worth every penny for the quality and experience provided. Highly recommended for anyone looking for top-tier sushi in London!

Ladies In Power LTD: Great !

Tony L: I recently visited Roka Charlotte Street to try out their 20th anniversary special menu. The menu offered two courses for £20.To start, we shared prawn tempura with a spicy yuzu dressing, white miso soup with spring onion, and iceberg lettuce with caramelised onion dressing. For the main course, I ordered the cedar-roasted baby chicken with chilli and lemon. To drink, I had the refreshing matcha iced tea.The service was excellent, and the atmosphere was great. Overall, it was a fantastic experience at Roka!Dietary restrictions: I'm glad to hear that they went above and beyond in accommodating dietary restrictions and allergies. It's always great to see when people take extra care to ensure everyone feels comfortable and safe.

Dennis David Rudinas: Full Video Review: @davidtriesitall on all socials. We had the set menu for £20 that will last only until the 22nd of February 2024.Starters include prawn tempura with spicy yuzu dressing, white miso soup with spring onion, iceberg lettuce with caramelised onion dressing. For your mains, you can choose one from the following:Salmon fillet teriyaki with sansho saltCedar roasted baby chicken with chilli and lemonSea bream fillet, ryotei miso and red onionBaby back pork ribs with sancho and cashew nuts. All mains comes with steamed rice. The food and service honestly lives up to the hype and the vibes was just stunning. The portions were also unexpectedly massive and tasty. I expected only a small portion given the price of the set menu in a luxurious restaurant. Honestly so much value for money as most ala carte mains here start from £20. Definitely visit if you can!Note that this offer is only available in the Charlotte Street Branch.Location: 37 Charlotte St., London W1T 1RRNearest Tube Station: Goodge StreetPrice - ££Walk ins available but better to reserveRequirements - vegetarian, gluten free menu available, not halal#davidtriesitall #londonjapanesefood #londoneats #londondeals #londonfinedining #japanesefood

Umu Restaurant: what do users think?

Daniel Leon: I have been coming to UMU for 15 years, and each time the food has been amazing. But that’s not all, the chef has been welcoming us with his amazing kindness every time. Coming from Brasilia he is coming one of most kind person I have met.15 years ago the Japanese female sommelier has taught me things about sake I have not forgotten. Thank you Umu.

MONDOROSO VINI FATTI A MANO: Molto buOno!! Grazie caro Roberto!

Nico M: Went for lunch as couldn’t afford dinner so this is the lunch menu review at this fabulous Michelin-star restaurant.FOODSo we got two bento boxes and a sushi platter of 10 assorted sushis for the three of us and it was plenty of food. Each bento box comes with a salad, a miso soup and a dessert in addition to the box which justifies its price of £45 for the vegetarian box, £65 for the regular box. I wouldn’t be able to tell you what was what but everything tasted super fresh and delicious; which is what you are paying for. They had some very special miso soups id never tried before also. The sushis were super tasty, each bite a different fish and frankly all tasted great. We received some extra desserts on the house at the end and I must say their desserts are outstanding. The Japanese tiramisu with sake is crazy, I thought I was eating a plant!Overall very glad to have tried this place. Not sure ill come back often as its still insanely expensive but if you can afford its fantastic.STAFF/SERVICEI felt it was a bit slow for a Michelin-star restaurant and none of the waiters explained to us what our dishes were which would have been useful. One of the waitresses didn’t speak great English which made it harder for us to communicate. We were not offered more water. Small things you would simply expect from such a high end restaurant which commands such high prices, even if it’s only a cheaper lunch menu.

Mike Palafox: Umu offers a rare gem: authentic Kyoto-style kaiseki. The elegant ambiance, flawless ingredients, and Michelin-star status elevated my dining journey to new heights. Umu is a true testament to the artistry of kaiseki, a culinary treasure that is hard to find outside of Japan. Umu created an enchanting atmosphere, leaving an indelible memory of an extraordinary gastronomic experience.

Jay Sea: Absolutely phenomenal service and food from the second you walk through the door until the second you leave.

Olena B: It was ok, pretty average taste palette. Not sure how they got a Michelin star.Service is also average. In my view, there are better places in London for that kind of price.

Hussam: Simply superb

Chisou Sushi and Izakaya: what do users think?

Sakata kie: , lunch set

CORINNE MOUTY: Accueil convivial. Très bonne cuisine

Andreas Jensen: Great place to have lunch, sat at the bar, service was quick and the chefs prepared the food in front of us.Tonkatsu was delicious, super crispy and tender. Nigiri we’re delicious and fresh, sushi roll and eggs plant were also tasty. Service was good and staff were attentive.Overall we enjoyed our dinner here and we would return for lunch/dinner.

tobiokeeee: and I have to say the staff at Chisou were the BEST front of house I have ever experienced. They were attentive, warm, polite and friendly - of course this is the basic expectation of service but the guys at Chisou exuded an attentiveness you only really see in Michelin star restaurants. I’d like to give a special mention to Brianna, Geannie, Riko and Misae who each sent above and beyond to make our dining experience exceptional. These guys are an absolute asset to the business and are truly outstanding. Our evening was perfect. And Chisou is now going to be my regular spot. 10/10.

Mehmet Agop: Authentic izakaya, with superb food and sake, and friendly waitresses!

B Roch: Fantastic fresh sushi! Really great restaurant in cute location. Service is a bit slow but that’s due to them being under staffed.Vegetarian options: Tempura avo and spicy seaweed was great!

Davey Wang: One of the best Japanese restaurants on London that will definitely satisfy your hunger! We recommend the blue fin fattiest tuna nigiri which we thought was their highlight dish! The atmosphere of the restaurant was also very authentic with the minimalistic Japanese style design with wooden furniture decor. The service is also very attentive. Many thanks for having us!

Hazel Fung: We had the best raw fish and the best time. The sashimi and nigiri was really fresh and delicious. We booked a reservation to be seated at the bar so we could watch the chefs prepare the dishes which I would recommend if you’re like us and love to watch. The price is a bit high which is reflected by the high quality fish. I would still totally visit again as I still want to try more of their menu. The staff were lovely and I love the wooden interiors inside. Such a beautiful restaurant. I’ll be back soon hopefully!

Nina: The service was great and most of the sushi was good albeit a little dry, but I was a bit disappointed by the uni. While it tasted fine it was weirdly watery, not a texture I’ve seen before, so it was a bit too expensive for that quality. The fatty/fattest tuna could have also been a bit better, the colours were quite dark and tasted more lean than otoro and chutoro should be. The matcha brulee was very nice though.

J Gabriel: Great place and delicious food.Good selection of Sake, sushi and other optionsEverything was fresh and tastyService was excellentQuiet street yet very central and close to tubeThe only suggestion would be to cook more the chocolate fondant and to have a better ventilation system

Sushi Atelier: what do users think?

Joe M: Exquisite sushi. Omakase sushi was particularly superb, as was the range of Sake. And everything really.Absolutely going back!

Helen Tang: I had a fantastic lunch at this sushi restaurant. The meal was an Omakase set, which included 10 pieces of fresh and delicious sushi. The sushi was expertly crafted on the spot by the chef, and every piece boasted an exceptional taste. It was so flavorful on its own that no extra soy sauce was necessary. However, the salad that came with the meal did not meet my expectations and could definitely use some improvement. Despite this, of all the sushi I've had in the UK, this restaurant offers an Omakase set that stands out for being both affordable and of high quality. I highly recommend their sushi.

minou simon: We had a super good time here. Extreme Friendly waiter , tasty food and good drinks . Absolute recommended !

Nikki M: This spoiled me for sushi now as it was soo good.Recommended dishes Omakase Sushi 12 Pieces, Sushi Set, Butterfish Carpaccio …

Dinings: what do users think?

Reem Akuz: Lovely experience, the staff were very friendly. Food was exceptional, fresh and beautifully presented. Can’t wait to come back again.

JP B.: Simply the best. One of the best, one of my favorite meals ever. Delicate, bold, surprising & unexpected flavors & textures, and an ever so lovely staff. Merci, Dinings!

Hessa S: Honestly my favourite Japanese in London. Everything is fresh, delicious and to the point. Thank you for being so good through out the years!

Anya V: Overall a wonderful experience. Amazing flavours and attention to detail. Can't wait to go back next time I am in London.

SG: Atmosphere: 2/5 - it's dead and that's not even a bad thing. It's a gourmet restaurant. It's about the food. Just don't go on a first date, for example.

I D: Extremely high quality sushi and Japanese fusion dishes, some less authentic than others. My favorites are the sea bass carpaccio, yellowtail carpaccio, popcorn shrimp roll and toro sashimi. They always have different specials that are worth trying out. Prices are high, but worth the splurge when you’re craving sushi.

Stephanie Yang: Delicious and inventive Japanese food. The truffle miso aubergine was so good, we ordered seconds! Everything we had was fantastic. We were there celebrating with friends and brought a bottle of champagne. Unfortunately the server didn’t seem very experienced in serving champagne and quite a bit was wasted due to bubbling over and spilling. The service was otherwise good and friendly. The desserts were a bit of a let-down. I love truffles as much as the next person but don’t think they need to be in everything!

Fady Georgy: Everything I ordered was mouthwatering!Recommended dishes Miso Aubergine, Taco, Lobster …

J Seal: Awesome food. So tasty. Best Japanese in london As it’s fair value - not cheap but excellent food.

Isadora Sunderhus: Best japanese restaurant I’ve been! Mind blowing foodRecommended dishes Yellowtail Carpaccio …

ROKA Mayfair: what do users think?

Mani Obhrai: wine pairing that was meant to go well with all the dishes we ordered, however it hadn't actually arrived by the time the first dish was served. Maybe I'm being harsh but it's not a cheap restaurant and I do expect more. Other than this though, we did have a nice time, and the food itself was spot on.

Nick Fulham: We had a very special dinner. Thank you so much to Jose and Vasilika who looked after us very well.Food was great, beautiful ambience and excellent service.Highly recommended!

Alaa A: الجلسات الداخليه مكتومه اما الخارجيه افضلالخدمه جيده والاسعار مرتفعهالسوشي لذيذ لكن السي باس ماكان بالمستوى المطلوب

Asia Campisi: Buonissimo ottimo servizio bella location

Veronica Carreras: Me encanto la decoracion, el trato a la llegada y la comido riquisima!

Phunwarit Teachapanyarak: Roka in Mayfair offers an unparalleled dining experience that masterfully combines ambiance, a diverse menu, and a notable selection of beverages. The atmosphere is immediately captivating, fostering a sense of both sophistication and comfort, making it the perfect backdrop for indulging in their culinary offerings.Their menu showcases an impressive variety of foods and alcohol, catering to a wide range of tastes. Starting with the appetizers, the Soft Shell Crab with Roasted Chilli Dressing is an absolute delight. The dish's crisp texture combined with the warmth and slight kick of the chilli dressing creates a harmonious balance, ensuring a memorable beginning to the meal. The Tuna Tartare further complements this initial journey, with its refreshing taste offering a clean, palate-preparing experience that's both light and invigorating.Moving on to the mains, the Nigiri Selection stands out as a testament to Roka's dedication to quality and precision. Each piece is crafted to showcase the natural flavors and textures of the fish, resulting in a sublime experience that's hard to find elsewhere. The Tokusen, a special selection, further elevates the meal. Prepared to perfection, it embodies the essence of what makes Roka so special: meticulous attention to detail and an unwavering commitment to quality.

F M: service just about over average, this place has lost its wow factor unfortunately but perhaps just an off night on a very busy night…. Rushed off the table after 90mins despite a 2 hour booking because a big party arriving… a big no no for me…. But will give another try in the future …

Chisou Japanese Restaurant Knightsbridge: what do users think?

Michael King: I hadn't been to Chisou for several years and spontaneously took my girlfriend the other evening.Nothing had changed, extremely fresh sashimi, wonderful black cod, fresh wasabi, every dish was perfect. Flawless service, welcoming, knowledgable polite staff.I really love this Japanese restaurant, one of my favorites in London.Highly recommended👑👑👑👑👑

Matthew Mathew: Expensive. But fantastic food. You get what you pay. Good atmosphere and service also

Ankush B: This spot has been on my list for so long, finally made it here and it didn’t disappoint. Great food through and through!

Voravat M: The sushi was wonderful and we highly recommend the cold udon. The waiter was very funny and kind to us. Couldn’t have expected better.

Gabriella Crimi: , the fish so fresh and the service five stars. It’s a beautiful ambiance as wellRecommended dishes Sushi …

Ben Tan: Recommended dishes Salmon Sashimi

E N: , and, time and time again, the orders arrive promptly, nothing ever missing, the packaging is no-frills but perfectly functional, and most importantly - the sushi is always incredibly fresh, high quality ingredients that just taste great! In Italy they say a good chef can make a great meal with expensive ingredients, but the best chef can make an exquisite meal with the most basic ingredients- well, the reason we ordered from Chisou so often is that their avo rolls were the only kind of sushi I could have while pregnant and unwell - normally they would taste plain but Chisou’s simple avo rolls were so good that my husband tried them and said “No wonder you keep reordering these!”.All in all, highly recommend this place - consistently high quality!

Perfect Brands Europe Ltd: Delightful meal last night in Knightsbridge. The team here are always very welcoming and friendly. Our server was Abdul during our visit and what a professional gentleman and most importantly very knowledgeable person. He made our Sake choice and recommended several starter dishes which were delicious.Overall the entire team here are most definitely caring and very customer focused.I would recommend booking your table to avoid any disappointment.Keep up the good work.Warm wishes,Sanjay & Phawita

Cheong Fung Wu: Superb Japanese restaurant located in Knightsbridge. The staff is exceptionally friendly. I'd like to extend a special thank you to Victoria for her outstanding service, invaluable food recommendations, and for organizing my wife's birthday arrangements. The sashimi selection is impressively fresh and diverse, quite possibly the finest I've ever tasted in the UK. The variety of sake available truly transported me to Japan. The overall dining experience at this establishment is exceptional. I will certainly be recommending it to friends and family.

Nazanien Nobari: Great team and fresh food. Intimate and unpretentious.

Tobias Cooper: As far as I have seen unique in London.A perfect example of doing one thing and doing it well.Great flavours and a hint of theatre a wonderful mealVegetarian options: Reasonable selection of Vegetarian options - however for mixed groups it is important to note that in general you only have one cooking surface to share.Wheelchair accessibility: The entrance is narrow and there is a low step

Farid Hamka: , with a smooth whipped cream, red bean paste, chewy mochi, and crunchy rice crisps. The texture alone was stellar. The best part, the sweetness was just right, never cloyingly sweet. It felt like eating a class of pure imagination. It still is one of my favourite okonomiyakiya ever.
