Ice Skating Lessons London: what do users think?

Harriet Rushmer: I started learning to skate as an adult and started having lessons with Chrissy soon after, almost 5 years on she is still my coach today. I feel very lucky to have such a supportive and encouraging coach like Chrissy. My lessons are always productive and we have a laugh too. She’s managed to get me from a beginner to passing field moves tests and even landing an axel! (something I never thought I would do as an adult skater!) She is very patient and if I’m struggling with something she will take the time to teach me new techniques and exercises to help. I would highly recommend Chrissy for lessons - she is an amazing coach!

Liliya Ivanova: Chrissy has been my coach since i started ice skating a few years ago and i feel fortunate to have found her and started my ice skating journey with her. She is incredibly skilled, always supportive and pushes her students outside their comfort zone (but just the right amount). Her lessons are always productive and fun- she varies skills and exercises and introduces new elements even if they are from a higher level. Yet she also keeps track of progress and ensures consistency in whatever it is you are working on. Highly recommend her whether you are looking for an intro lesson, returning to ice skating or are a skater looking for a knowledgeable, supportive and kind coach.

Jay Hanson: Since I have been having lessons with Chrissie she has not only improved my skating skills, but also my confidence. I have private lessons with Chrissie and we are currently preparing for level 2 field moves. Chrissie has helped me to break down the skills and to learn them in detail. She is not only friendly and approachable but has excellent communication skills especially when you are finding certain manoeuvres difficult. She encourages you in all aspects of skating and also in my role in the adult synchro team as a Captain. Recently Chrissie supported me and my colleague in achieving bronze position in a national team challenge category. I can’t thank Chrissie enough for her patience and determination in getting you to achieve your best. So what are you waiting for, book her now.

Denise Bernstein: I have had Chrissy as my coach for 1 year and wouldn’t go any where else ! She is very patience and takes her time to explain techniques through various methods I.e drawing it out for me which I find extremely helpful. I have seen my skating improve massively over the past year due to Chrissy’s encouraging character.

Ellie Gibbons: Chrissy is brilliant - I’ve been having one-to-one lessons for almost a year now, and feel like I’ve made real progress. I couldn’t skate at all to begin with, but Chrissy is really patient and helps me break it down in a way my body can understand! Very much recommend if you’re looking for lessons.

Kirsty Bennett Fitness: Chrissy helped push me further than I ever imagined In skating, she took me to competitions as a solo and then introduced me to synchronised skating which I fell in love with and has supported me throughout my skating career. She helped me become good enough to get paid for a few performances and I also have a rare knee condition, which Chrissy has catered to throughout the years I have been skating. Would highly recommend Xx

Streatham Ice and Leisure Centre: what do users think?

Dorothea: This centre located on the high road it has underground parking to the side of the building. It quite moden and spacious. On the premises we have a swimming pool, gym dance studio ice skating ring. Various classes dance, judo, pirates the list is endless and the prices vary. There is a coffee shop just as you enter.

Marta Capova: The soft play area is not too bad BUT pretty small and unfortunately not open space like other Better centres. Although it’s pretty clean I have to say that lots of small balls are broken. Would be great if area for not walking children will be a bit bigger and not restricted only to ball pool. It’s in the second floor, lift is huge but if not working there is no way how to get in UPDATE 30/12/22 We went here for first session at 10am and I can’t believe how dirty this place is! Food on the floor, balls everywhere, dirty table …. absolutely disgusting. Clearly NO one bothered to clean this place

warren fitch: Went skating there for the first time in about 30 years. They have done an amazing job of the place. The staff are all exceptionally nice and helpful. Easy to park and get into the place. Whole family had a wonderfull time. Kudos to the staff 👏.

anna martin: This is a great fun night out with your kids. We had a birthday party here, you can burn of loads of energy and have the best time here. Staff were great, atmosphere is so uplifting and high octane energy. Brilliant night.

Lara South: I played ice hockey there. Its really good, but the rental skates are not good and uncomfortable. I now have my own skates but i would recommend buying your own unless its a one time thing... Good rink, really nice.

Laurence Reade: One of the better NIHL 1S rinks. PA difficult to hear though.

Amber Duncan: Very disappointing… there was no clear sign at the entrance nor the website that the lifts were out of service. The lady let me pay then came to me and explained the lift is not working. I cannot walk at all. It was my son’s birthday it was very upsetting no refund nothing. The only thing that gave us grace was one of the employees carried me upstairs; I can’t remember his name but himself and another young man with beautiful curly hair made that happen thanks to them I got to see my son skate.👏🏽🙌🏽 And 4 other disabled people came there and was turned away, they again lost there money!! 👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽

mokujin Rocky: Too pricey, I used to pay £18 for a whole family ice skating experience. Now I end up paying £35 for the only 3 of us. Overall, the experience was fun and I enjoyed it.

Johnny Westlake: Mina and Chris are both super knowledgeable and friendly coaches (and talented skaters) and happy to tailor your lessons around your own goals, whilst still honing foundational technique. Clear instructions and focus on not just the foot work but body position, and able to quickly disect and suggest ways to improve your technique, and pushes you to try more!
Response: Thanks for taking the time to leave a review for our coaches! It’s great to hear you’ve enjoyed your lessons.

Judy: My girls and I have had the pleasure of having Marika as our instructor the last few months. Her explicit guidance in technique coupled with her infinite patience has made ice skating attainable and enjoyable for us. She is a supportive proficient coach giving individualised exercises to get one through their challenging points . Thank you Marika for helping us go from barrier huggers to being comfortable on ice and loving it.
Response: Thank you Judy! You and the girls are so welcome.

aaron freeman: I’ve been having lessons with Markia and Vitaliy for a year now and have enjoyed every moment of there tuition. Their passion and patience with this sport by far exceeds my expectations. Markia and Vitaliy have really reinforced my passion for figure skating and helped me with very difficult goals. I really appreciate their vast knowledge and fine details with every single part in ice skating.
Response: Thanks Aaron! You’ve come a long way ⭐️

Weijian Cao: Very professional and fun teaching. Marika is a very experienced teacher with a lot of passion. Highly recommended.

Cheburashka Malenkaya: My kids r 5 and 4 years old, it was their first time, first half an hour they had fun, but then got tired and wanted to change their snowman ⛄ and penguin 🐧 for another one where they could sit and not push. We had good fun, but probably will wait another few years till kids get ready, so we adults can have some fun too and not only pushing kids 😂

Locations with Ajla-rae: My first time ice skating, it was a grate experience has my dad usually comes. Staff were fine, parking is free you can leave a donation if you want, location fantastic good views it’s really hard if it’s your first time so I had a penguin to assist me. Will definitely be heading back as they say Practice makes perfect.

Masoud Bahrami: I brought my kids to have some fun and physical activity today. This is a beautiful place for kids to have some fun on the ice rink, and the people are friendly and supportive.

Ice Rink Canary Wharf: what do users think?

Ahmed Tushar: Amazing place! Better to check the starting time of every days session before you go there, otherwise have to wait a long time. Each session usually lasts around 50 minutes. Staffs are helpful and well behaved.
Response: Thank you Ahmed for your four star review. We cannot wait to welcome you back to the ice soon. Best wishes, Ice Rink Team

Myra Rojas: Had a wonderful time with the kids! Pre booked online for a time slot. Make sure to get there before your time and to pay the cashier if you need the penguin to help with your kids ice skating. My son really needed it and it saved me and my husband from holding him up.
Response: Dear Myra, Thank you for your Five Star review, we are delighted to hear you had such a great experience at Ice Rink Canary Wharf. We look forward to welcoming you back on the ice soon. Ice Rink Team

Eliza Murphy: We bought our twins and youngest for the twins 8th birthday. The whole family had the most wonderful time and the twins were made to feel super special for their birthdays. We have to give special thanks to Eesha, the Deputy Venue Manager, who went out of her way to make my daughter, who has cerebral palsy and autism, feel confortable and confident on the ice after an incredibly shaky start and Oliver, who took our son around for the whole session in his wheelchair. We really appreciate these amazing little touches to what was already great customer service. Thanks again for a very special day!
Response: Dear Eliza, we loved hosting you and the family at Ice Rink Canary Wharf, and thank you very much for the Five Star review. We hope you all have a wonderful Christmas, and look forward to seeing you on the ice again soon. Best wishes, Ice Rink Team

Avnish S: It was decent. We booked beforehand and got to start skating at the appointed hour - despite it being a peak rush hour on a Saturday evening. It wasn’t super crowded. It was managed well - plenty of people helping out others on the ice, shoe and skate collection were without hassle. We had a lovely time there, worth a visit.
Response: Hi Avnish, Thank you your review! We're thrilled to read that you enjoyed your skate at the rink and you found our staff helpful and friendly. Kind regards, Ice Rink Canary Wharf

Ruby Sharma: Amazing place! Ice skatins session usually lasts around 50 minutes. Staffs are very helpful and well behaved.
Response: Hi Ruby, Thank you for your 5* review! Our staff are always on hand to help others on the ice so we're thrilled to hear that you found them helpful. Thank you for joining us at the rink and we hope to welcome you back onto the ice again soon. Kind regards, Ice Rink Canary Wharf

Andrea Testa: Amazing spot! Had lots of fun!Only downside was- way too busy, lots of kids falling all around so there was a lot of zig zag needed. The ice rink used to be a lot bigger in past years - I think...
Response: Hi Andrea, Thank you for your Four Star review, we are so pleased to hear you had lots of fun. We are in the busiest time of the year for Ice Rink Canary Wharf, with many of our sessions at capacity. Should you wish to visit during a quieter session, we would recommend booking for the morning slots or out of school holidays. This year Ice Rink Canary Wharf is are largest to date, to ensure more guests can enjoy a magical experience on the ice. Wishing you Seasons Greetings and thank you for your feedback. Ice Rink Team

tony cole: A super Birthday treat for our 6 year old son. The staff on the ice were very friendly and helped us whenever our son fell which was not too often thanks to the very cleaver penguins. Also, the staff on the skates and shoes were really nice. The ice was well prepared and nice and quick. Only downside is that the toilets are outside so you have to take your skates off, get your shoes and walk a good way so go before you skate! All in all, it was expensive but the quality was there.
Response: Hi Tony, Thank you for your 5* review. We're pleased to read that your son enjoyed their birthday at our rink, thank you for choosing us to mark the special occasion! Our skate aids are a great option to help children become more comfortable on the ice and hopefully they won't need it next year. We appreciate that we don't have a toilet located on-site but there is one located beside the rink which is a one minute walk away. Thank you for joining us for your son's special day. Kind regards, Ice Rink Canary Wharf

Skate at Somerset House: what do users think?

Rani Jayan: Highly recommend it, especially booking late in the evening as the rink comes to love with lights and music. Breathtaking view and have lots of things happening like exhibitions, courses under one roof. They have a really nice canopied cafe from where you can watch the skating comfortably

Ivy: Compared to other skate in town, I hugely prefer this one. Very smooth ride and a nice environment to skate. Fewer people with much shorter lines….the staff will help you take a nice picture if you ask too! The skate is very comfortable to wear too. Highly recommend!

Marina Camillozzi: One of the best experience that you can have in London at this time of the year. It was my first time at Somerset House and we loved so much. It was so funny and lovely. I’m sad that now it’s time to close again. See you soon ❤️❤️

U.M D.: A jolly cold day. Only a few days left. Highly recommend to visit. We went prior to Christmas but it was busy. Today however not many people around. Really enjoyable. Staff on & off the rink were very helpful. I was petrified but my wife loved it.

Sonia Dunn: Loved skate at Somerset House went at 3pm on a Wednesday and it was right amount of people. It was very festive with the big Christmas tree up. Lots of fun even for begginers

Ana De Sousa: Super fun and a nice experience before Xmas ! Definitely recommend booking in the evening, the lights make everything look magical.

Luke Copeland: Pleasantly surprised how hassle free the whole experience was. Staff were organised and friendly. Ice skating itself was great as you would expect in such an amazing setting. We had a pram and the bag drop hut happily took it free of charge without us having to fold everything inside it. Session started on time. It was very busy and although they had frames to help support children. It would have been nice to have the kids mini ice rink like they’d had in previous years. Overall great day out.

Vanessa: It was lashing rain when we arrived so we had to wait for some of the water to be removed but we did not mind at all because the location is beautiful (very festive), we cannot control the weather, and the staff were fun!

kayla luo: Wow... How amazing place. Very difficult to booked a ticket, Very beautiful light show and the DJ performs every night(8-10pm).iI try to booked again but so difficult 😭I will back soon hahaha

Sobell Leisure Centre: what do users think?

Abda Mahmood: Very mixed service and frustrating experience. With the exception of Eileen’s body conditioning and cycle classes and Tina’s yoga classes (both trainers are really excellent), other classes regularly start late or are cancelled without notification. The centre charges £3 if you miss a class you’ve booked, yet cancel classes themselves without notification even if you’ve booked - so you may turn up to a cancelled class. The gym also does not have wifi which is unusual.

Dsmantl Audio: Went to a Spin class recommended from a friend.. was proper hardcore! Will be choosing the right time to work up to it as you need to be super fit to come out of it not feeling the burn.. will work up to it in the next few weeks! The teacher was extremely good though! Much respect to Saturday’s spin class!and it’s participants!

Lexy A: Use to come here for years as it’s quite local to me. I tend to opt for the gym, steam and occasional classes which on most occasions have been a pleasant experience. My usual visit consists of gym then steam, to which, after a sweaty session working out of course I’ll be hitting the showers before entering the steam facilities. On one notable occasion as I sat quietly, minding my business, enjoying my relaxing steam session. A FAT, nosey, old biddy body abruptly interrupts me …. “Excuse me! You’ve got to shower before you come in here”, shocked at the sheer rudeness I just replied “I have” without giving a thought to retaliate. “Well, I didn’t see you!” OMG is this woman for real?! - she “didn’t see me” because she walked in when I went back into the changing cubicle (as she walked in) prior to entering the steam room and AFTER I had come out the shower to adjust my bikini bottoms as they were almost falling off . I didn’t bother to explain as why should I have to? I just asked her why she was watching me. On other occasions you will come across a bunch of middle aged prunes, hogging the loungers all day, eating fruit they’ve packed for their day out, having a mothers meeting and gossiping about people - I had also been a target once (not sure why but I always seem to attract the weirdos) - all because I’m minding my own business, going in to do what I intend to do (to relax not join in idle gossip). “You can’t be like that in here” one shouted - as they didn’t get a response from me, they make sure you know they are talking about you (highlighting your race etc). Middle aged bullies thinking they own the place in the steam/sauna room, AVOID if you can! Better to use the facilities at the Archway branch. Overall Sobell is a decent centre but ruined by the calibre of people who frequent their steam/sauna facilities.

Oo L: Good to have a cafe and some sitting areas to chill after playing sports. Toilets are quite often not very clean unfortunately.

Tiffany Markley: Used to love this place, been coming here for years. But last weekend was the last straw. My son is nonverbal autistic and was treated disgustingly by the employee of this centre. I have seen many other reviews on other sites also complaining of untrained and incompetent staff, as well. Obviously there is a trend. The heavy set black woman with the furry fake eyelashes has earned a formal complaint from me, due to her grievously unprofessional attitude and behaviour in the soft play.

Laura Springall: Great for kids Brilliant for a rainy day. Can be quite packed but it’s a good size space. There is a separate bit upstairs for under 5s which is still big enough. There is a seating area upstairs looking down into the trampoline area and a kiosk that sells drinks and snacks

karoon taekwondo Academy Karoon: Fantastic GYM in Isligton and London friendly club with good management Thanks for All people work at the sobeil leisure centre We are run taekwondo at Center very happy Recomind to All family to live be in Isligton can found All Activity in the gym London taekwondo

Sultana Moosun: They have new covid rules in place. You need to arrive 15 minutes before your session starts and wait outside and a member of staff will come and take you through. Staff are friendly and very strict. You now need to buy socks everytime you visit the trampoline park. They have a one way system in place too!! (This is a new added cost as you cant use your old socks) Today was my 1st time going with my family after a long time and we thoroughly enjoyed it.

Hyde Park Winter Wonderland Ice Rink: what do users think?

Vishnu Raj Kesavapillai: We had a wonderful time in Winter Wonderland. They offer you a myriad of thrilling games, and a variety of world food which are very delicious. A variety of Fun houses and rides are available for all age groups. The weather was so cold, but there are a few areas where you can warm yourself. This is the best place to taste the Winter and witness the beauty of Winter lights and rides. At night, the surrounding lights were breathtaking, and it was fabulous. I advise you to go by morning and stay till night to enjoy every minute at Winter Wonderland.

Kristen Gayagoy: Absolutely loved and had a blast!! This was honestly the best amusement park I’ve been to, and I’m from the US. Rides were amazing, and I loved the local business stalls and the fact that the food is actually GOOD!! In the US it’s only souvenir shops and basic food like pizza, hot dogs, burgers (that aren’t even that good). The food here was amazing. The ice kingdom was also so cool! I want to bring more friends back here!

Mo' Ojelade: Last minute bank holiday day-out for me and my daughter. We had so much fun! I had not been to Winter Wonderland in years! Was so glad to be there today. Still full of fun and magic. We enjoyed all the rides! So much adrenaline fun!

Deven Gajjar: Great place to visit in the heart of the London at Hyde Park. Very well connected from all the public transport and it is the park for every age. You will have lots to do and plenty to eat so there is everything for everyone which is great. It could get busy in December, so the best time to visit is in November I would highly recommend it. Some shop owners over there will rip you off. The price for a small bucket of candy floss and a small lollipop would cost £13 which I think bit overpriced, but apart from that the prices of rides are really good and reasonable. New check out snow jet ride if you are a thrill-seeker.

Sushiliah Devi: We had such an awesome time in Winter Wonderland in December 2021. The finger food was delicious, a lot of games to indulge in and rides you can participate. The weather was cold but there was an area where you can warm yourself. This was a best time we had in London.

Ibrahim Almohaimeed: An awesome place for everyone! We had such a great time at Winter Wonderland. Plenty of games, large variety of food options, indoor and outdoor seating areas, so many shops. Recommend to take the Piccadilly tube to get here. Tickets’ rates are rated based on day and entry time.

Ligia Contreras: My family and I had a wonderful time there! The atmosphere was magic and all the staff was attentive, friendly and helpful. Great food with a lot of variety. The price of the rides was a little bit expensive than I was expecting, but definitely worthy.

avnika kuvadiya: Winter wonderland is a wonderful amusement park which is operational for the month of November, December. The tickets are available on their sites for all the rides and activities. There is a Market place inside with loads of food stalls, cafes, resturants, bar, etc. It is a place to experience the fun one can have with either friends or family. I would recommend to visit this

QUEENS skate dine bowl: what do users think?

Vivian Munoz Esco: Great afternoon out. Had food at Meatliquor prior to our bowling games. Fun place for date night or to go with family. Cocktails were overpriced, food was average. Great atmosphere on the bowling lanes. Lots of places to take pictures and 2 great photo booths. Staff were friendly, helpful and me attentive.

Savan Gandecha: I went here for a work social yesterday and it was great! Great staff, great atmosphere and great vegan food! We hired out the private bowling alley and bar which was also great! Accessible toilets were good as well.

Alan Pitchforth: Great place for the family. Enjoy a game of bowling or ice skating before sitting down for some fine food at meat liquor … small arcades area also plus a photo booth. Accommodates adult and children parties and the meat liquor area is uber cool with awesome art on the walls - a recommended place for some fun with / without the family.

Xander TS: A great spot to go with friends for sure. The bowling lanes are pretty cool on both VIP and regular but the spacing between the people on your side is a bit too close. I love the selfie mirror, pretty dope. The food is good. I love the chicken wings the most. The ice rink is pretty cool, I don’t ice skate so I go to watch people do their thing. It gets interesting 🤭 Overall it’s a pretty cool spot for friends and a date.

Greg Cole: Great indoor skating venue in London and a great alternative to the exorbitantly priced festive season outdoor popup rinks. For those who have parties with non-skaters, they can either bowl in the same venue or have a drink in the bar (pool table too).

Romford Ice Rink: what do users think?

JJ H: A really good experience on the ice rink with very smooth ice and a 1 hour 45 minutes session, which in my opinion is the perfect length compared to the 2 hour and 45inutes typically on the afternoon slot. Like I said, it was a great experience and the skating shoes come free with the ticket as of November 2022

paul nelder: I go to watch raiders play. Its a nice friendly atmosphere. Everything is clean and tidy. My daughter goes there to ice skate aswell no complaints at all.

Rudi Ranshiin: Big ice skating, they only have 1 skyrink which on the 2nd floors (so don’t get confuse on the app). You can book via their app, so it’s convinience

Autumn Brown: Really nice ice rink we had 1hr and 45 mins to skate which was really good as other rinks I have been to are only 1hr. To book you need to go to download their app Everyone Active.

Rachel Morris: Would highly, highly recommend going to watch Ice Hockey and cheering on local team The Raiders. Fantastic evening out for the family.

natalie fernandes: We love this place. It is clean, very well organised and lots of ice Marshalls to look after you and your little ones. It is great value for money, we often skate for 1.5hours to 2hours for around £8 to £10.

Carlton: The facilities are clean, kept to a good standard, following the government guidelines on wearing masks 😷. The Ice skate provided are clean and in good condition. The ice ring itself is spacious for those who want to skate freely and for those that want to practice different techniques. I had a group of 40 students, who all enjoyed the experience for the first time.

Dr.USMAN latif KHAWAJA: Always busy and too overcrowded! The queues are daunting and so are the clientele! I just used it once and it was enough
