Battersea Spanish | Spanish Courses London | Flamenco London: what do users think?

Mel Clow: A fab place to both learn Spanish and immerse yourself in the community. The teachers are excellent and encouraging. They also host a number of events so you can get to meet new people and have fun!!

Hugo Herrmann: I really enjoyed learning Spanish with Battersea Spanish, everyone is so welcoming, really an amazing atmosphere. Their aim was to create a community and they definitely succeeded. Teachers are great, I enjoyed learning in such a relaxed atmosphere. And having the tapas room and all the organised events is definitely a great plus side. I will definitely be back for some drinks and more learning!

Virginia Falcon: I have been practising flamenco at Battersea Spanish for almost 6 years and am a big fan of their work.Flamenco classes are amazing, Carmen the teacher is an incredible dancer and choreographer. I haven't tried other flamenco schools in London but I am certain this is the best one having done 20+ years of professional classes in 3 different countries. And the venue and community in itself is very special. A hidden gem in Battersea, will make anyone feel like they have travelled somewhere warm and fun.Definitely recommend the classes, the tapas and all of the wonderful events.

Jamie Gittins: We went to the most amazing intimate Flamenco show last night here, would recommend to anyone to check them out. Will be going back for sure 😍

IloveHeartlandX: have improved massively since starting the course. The Tapas Bar downstairs is also really wonderful, I have greatly enjoyed having a drink and tapas with my classmates prior to class and it definitely adds to the experience. Would definitely choose to do further courses with Battersea Spanish

Sophie Brown: No better place to learn spanish - fun, sociable, greta facilities...and not a formal classroom in site! And a great tapas bar attached!

Andrew Rixom: A wonderful place I keep coming back to again and again. The staff are sooo friendly.I eat, drink, visit flamenco shows, watch films, and now have the most enjoyable Spanish lessons I’ve had so far.And my partner learns flamenco here, so an extra excuse to come and drink and eat even more superb food and enjoy good company in a relaxing Spanish atmosphere. If you’re interested in Spanish people and culture, you really have to visit.

ben williams: The language exchange and tapas events on Fridays are the best language exchange opportunity in London. Love this place!

Mo Heidari: Absolutely fantastic place for learning languages and dance as well as having fun and meeting amazing people.Highly recommended 💎👌🏽

Natalia García-Huidobro: I absolutely love this place!!! Food/ shows and classes are Top 1

Lauren Cooper: Highly recommend Battersea Spanish! It's such a cool and unique place and is soo much more than a language school. It has a lovely atmosphere and learning facilities are great. It also has a fab tapas wine and food bar, so you can take a glass of wine into class with you or relax there before or after class. All my teachers so far have been exceptional and always encouraging. I've been going there for a year now and I'm trying to get my partner to join too! Don't hesitate - whatever your motivations are!

K Richmond: I can't speak more highly of Battersea Spanish. I discovered it when I saw their Latin Fitness classes advertised summer 2021 and was eager to get fit and tone up. I'm now doing one of their beginners' Spanish classes. You always get a warm welcome at Battersea Spanish whether it's from the teachers and bar staff, other students. It's a really cosy venue with a very supportive environment whether you're dancing or learning Spanish. The language courses are well structured and lots of fun - plenty of opportunities to practice Spanish outside of class too - games, books you can borrow, quiz and film nights, and conversation evenings. It's a place you can easily make new friends - people actually talk to each other and strike up conversations. For me it feels like a home from home.

Claire Williams: I was quite apprehensive at first to start a language course but the team at Battersea Spanish are so welcoming and the other students on the course are great! The building is fantastic with a restaurant and bar called The Tapas Rooms downstairs - there is outside seating and the restaurant staff are super friendly and inviting. The classes themselves are superb and the teachers very knowledgeable with great senses of humour which makes the classes entertaining as well as very informative. Superb atmosphere, superb value and so so much fun. Can't recommend highly enough - I am about to book Beginner 3 course which starts in October. Try it!

Greg Grant: into class with you.Classes are available at all levels from absolute beginner through to Advanced. The classrooms are comfortable and spotlessly clean with good, modern interactive screens for the teachers. I have only had one teacher, Camila, who is excellent - lively and enthusiastic and always motivational. Given the high standards of the school I would imaging the other teachers reach similar levels as Camila. The school offers more than just tuition. It has regular social events, e.g. conversation evenings, film nights and pub quizzes

Alistair: I have studied spanish at many different places both in the UK and Spain - and Battersea Spanish is by far the best! It is the benchmark for what a good Spanish school should be with great events, a tapas bar and a welcoming atmosphere. 5*

Oliver Powe: Great place to learn! Supportive teachers and nice classmates.

Ilusion Flamenca: what do users think?

Vidal Sancho: Great place to learn Flamenco in London!

Soumya Mishra: Angela is an excellent teacher and her classes move at the right balance between being comfortable enough and challenging enough for first time flamenco dancers. I enjoyed the experience of learning from her, she doesn't waste any time in class and is focused on teaching as much as possible.

Jane Chen: Good school. Fantastic teacher Angela.Highly recommend

Sandra Prior: Congratulations on a fantastic Gala Flamenca!!! I loved taking part!A cherry on the cake after a year of great flamenco classes, learning different 'palos' to live music, many thanks Angela!! Looking forward to keep discovering the art.

Sarah Sobhy: The best decision I have made is to join Angela’s school … she works so hard and she pays high attention to the details of every single dancer…. She is the best

Alla Deifta: Classes with Angela are really enjoyable. Have been with Ilusion Flamenco for six years and truly enjoy Angela’s professionalism, dedication and style

Ana Martins: Flamenco is not easy but it is so much fun! Great at all ages but at 59 it is doing my mushy menopause brain a world of good. I love the challenges it gives me and Angela has been amazing! See you next term!

Sonia Miñarro Martínez: Amazing!

Ben Dawlatly: It was great. They did a fantastic job and the kids loved it. I'm going to a different school in September and I'll definitely recommend we get you in there.

Eloise Macpherson: The teacher/dancer Lola was great, she really motivated the students and encouraged them to speak in Spanish. They learned a routine which they could all perform at the end. The guitarist, Tony, was great, and the atmosphere was very positive. The students really enjoyed it.

Paul Wilson: , Carlos and Lola were fantastic. They are so knowledgeable, professional and approachable; making everyone feel comfortable and at ease. Please pass on my thanks.

Kelly Wareing: Absolutely amazing experience - thank you Ilusion for such a great day of workshops and a mini show. The students absolutely loved it, and were really grateful for the experience. 100% would recommend! Muchas gracias!

Daisy van der Lande: Angela is a brilliant dancer. We tasked her with an almost impossible place to dancer and she was spectacular. She was so professional throughout the process and has supported us so much since. Would highly recommend Angela for any event or promotion you are looking to do!

Roy Bell: You have to try Angela Alonso's school Ilusion Flamenca. I joined initially to learn Sevillanas but this is an amazing place to learn all things flamenco - the dance steps, the music, sevillanas, castanets, the clothes and style. You get a well rounded, immersive education with Angela Alonso who is an inspiring teacher. From complete beginners to experienced dancers she encourages and nurtures the enthusiasm of her students with her positivity. Special touches are when she has a live guitar player at Sevillanas lessons or when she gives students performing opportunities at the events she organises. Angela teaches castanets with a wide variety of music styles from the songs and dances of rustic Andalucia to classical symphony repertoire. I found that the online castanet lessons worked particularly well. All in all this has been an incredibly positive experience. Very highly recommended indeed!!!

Andrew Bell: Ariana and Isabel were amazing with the children and delivered absolutely fantastic sessions that were enjoyed by all. Highly recommended.

Ruth Halkon: Great class! I have no coordination and several left feet but after an hours class even I looked somewhat graceful!

Julia Belly: I joined classes with Ilusion Flamenca this year as a complete beginner,The classes are really enjoyable- a mixture of technique & tailored choreography. ❤️Angela is a great teacher. Not only do I feel as if I am making progress I can see how the whole class is improving week by week😍Another bonus is that dancing flamenco is an amazing workout - finally back into my clothes after losing covid pounds 🤣🤣🤣

Lilia Wydra: This was really fun class. I would do it again and highly recommend for a hen do activity!

Frances Winfield: I organised a hen do flamenco dance class with Angela, and would highly recommend! Everyone had a lot of fun, the costumes, shoes, dance were all really good. Angela did a great job of challenging us to master a whole dance routine, but also kept it accessible and enjoyable for all us beginners! 5 stars.

Lourdes Fernandez Flamenco Dance School: what do users think?

Monica Garcia: Great artist and teacher.

Mesh-mesh MM: Lourdes is a beautiful dancer, she brings such style and glamour to Flamenco. She is clever and innovative with her choreographies, very musical. She is a kind and very generous teacher, I love the way she somewhat challenges traditional flamenco choreographies. Her understanding of technique has helped me grow as a dancer. Her classes have a lovely atmosphere.

Irene Gimenez: Lourdes’ classes are great. Her choreographies are super creative and she explains everything super clear and precise. Going to her classes brings me happiness, a moment for myself to connect with my body. And together with the other students, it feels like a big family! Recommend 100%

M HW: Lourdes teaches us the students her genuine professional flamenco choreography. What a treat! Challenging but training our soul and body, for a long term enjoyment!

Nathalie Cabrier: Great Flamenco classes! Lourdes is always very clear, helping everybody. She is a very good teacher and a beautiful dancer. Lourdes' choreographies are wonderful, very creative! Highly recommended.

Vanessa Forner: Lourdes is an excellent teacher, very inspiring and passionate! Really recommended!

Emil P: Lourdes Fernandez is truly exceptional. As a performer and teacher she is one of the best in London and her students, both advanced and beginners are highly motivated and of a high level. The vibe in the class is great. I would highly recommend this school.

Dafni Laurel: The show it's amazing and Lourdes is the best dancer you are going to find in all UK 💃

Dilini Ratnayeke: Amazing, powerful and graceful dancer and teacher. Lourdes has incredible prescision and style when dancing, and she ensures all of us students understand the meaning of strong technique and passion. Highly recommend her classes and shows!

Anamaria Popa: Lourdes is a very talented professional dancer and wonderful teacher. She's dedicated to teaching authentic, correct Spanish flamenco techniques and building a school of flamenco rather than a drop-in class. Highly recommend.

Marta Retenaga: I run a flamenco events business in Birmingham and have hired Lourdes to perform at our shows for the past 5 years, and she has always been an absolute pleasure to work with. Her dancing skills are breathtaking, and her performances usually end with a standing ovation from the audience. She has a wide network of fellow flamenco artists she works with, which makes it easy to organize a variety of shows with different artists. Her own production ‘Raices’ is a piece of art on stage that I would also recommend to anyone looking for a fantastic show.Lourdes is very professional, reliable, organized and communicates well.I always look forward to her shows and cannot recommend her enough.

Jose Manuel Sanz Mengibar: Lourdes holds your hand through footwork, arm shapes, palos and coreography, but also the experience of dancing together with live music and singers. Flamenco learning requires juggling so many keys, that only a teacher and artists who masters it, like Lourdes, can transfer that knowlege. She will help you with your missing keys; this is not just a technique class, but keeping flamenco art alive.

stefanie borkum: Lourdes is a wonderful teacher, she combines in her class stamina-building technique with beautiful choreography. With a guitarist and sometimes a singer and cajon player accompanying the class it makes learning with Lourdes a total flamenco experience!

Tanya Costa: I have learnt so much from Lourdes and her classes! Her passion and art for flamenco and dance, shines through in every class. Very recommended.

Irene Sanz: I’ve been attending Lourdes flamenco lessons for several years now and I cannot recommend her highly enough. Her dancing skills are amazing and she is wonderful teacher!

Dalia Rosano: Lourdes is a fantastic flamenco dancer, a great teacher and a beautiful soul. Her classes include technique, rhythm, choreography and are accompanied by live music. The atmosphere during the classes is professional and welcoming. I strongly recommend her!

Anna Vashkel: .

Eva Ruiz: I have been doing flamenco classes for 2 years with Lourdes now and I love them. Lourdes is such a talented, patient, and caring Flamenco dancer instructor. She makes it sure that we learn all the key elements of flamenco, while creating a great and fun atmosphere where the group feels encouraged to learn more about flamenco culture through her. I think this is what sets her apart from other instructors I've done flamenco classes with. She is a great enthusiastic professional and I would highly recommend joining her classes or attending any of her flamenco shows!

barbara pizziconi: Extremely professional but down to earth, fantastic choreographer and patient teacher, Lourdes' repertoire and expertise are just impressive. Her classes are often accompanied by musicians and singers, and a whole flamenco community revolves around her.

Meryem Oz: Great style, technique and stamina... Lourdes brings authenticity of Andalucia, right here in London.
