Guitar Lessons London: what do users think?

Dan Gold: These lessons are very often the highlight of my week. I've been taking guitar lessons from James for a year now & have seen precedented growth in my playing both in terms of the songs I have learned as well as the overall musicianship I have developed. My favourite song to play currently Ziggy Stardust by David Bowie. I love the power chords on the chorus and the introduction is just fantastic. James is truly a great teacher who makes every session fun as well as being educational!

Luca Ovidijus: James is an extremely skilled and patient teacher. During my lessons, I have really developed my rhythm, guitar playing bar chords and my soloing technique. After searching for awhile to find a teacher, I am delighted to have found James. James is not only local to me, but also the best teacher I could've wished for!If you were looking for tutor that really knows his stuff, I would recommend contacting James today! 🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸

Jordan Green: James is an inspiring musician and an amazing teacher. I never played guitar before I took classes with him. It has been over 2 years since I started playing music. From day one you learn beautiful melodies. Great teacher & perfect lessons for me!

Shaun Clarke: James is a truly wonderful teacher. Who makes every lesson super educational and fun! 🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸 very highly recommended!

Angela Rippon: Superb local tutor. Highly recommended! 🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸

Steven Duke: Learning to play the guitar with James is more than learning to play the guitar. It's a dose of joy that cuts through the grime that accumulates every week as we juggle our hectic lives. Play and sing like you want the whole neighbourhood to join in. James certainly will.

Maranda Norway: 👍👍👍👍👍

Amanda Timberlake: I'm already making progress! Would highly recommend.

Mario Rojas Acosta: and loved every minute. James created a friendly, welcoming environment for our group, calling us a “band” from the start. We were given well-designed chord and melody books and each brilliant lesson ended with a recap which we were encouraged to record, making practicing at home incredibly easy. I went from being a total beginner to playing three songs confidently in six short weeks, learning chords and melodies from some of the best tunes in the history of rock and roll. Currently taking private lessons and learning even quicker. Massive fan of this school and their method, truly one of the best things I’ve done for myself in a good while. For anyone who’s been waiting for the right time and place to learn guitar, the time has come and the place is London Guitar Academy.

Jason Chen: Excellent course! James is a great teacher, patient, knowledgeable and encouraging. It's fun to learn guitar from him. Highly recommended.

Rhys Wahinya: I recently had a guitar lesson with James which I very mucn enjoyed, giving me tips and techniques which I will carry through for a lifetime. Very patient and thorough in his teaching, it made me feel at ease even during times I made mistakes. I'd recommend this guitar school to anyone looking for that extra step in raising their guitar game. Thank you for such a fun experience!

Mary Bryce: Learning piano. Such fun and Tom is a patient and amusing teacher

Guitar Tuition East London: what do users think?

Angela Malis: I am really enjoying my time at the school. The way lessons are run doesn’t feel like you are in a school, but in a jam. It is engaging and fun, you get to learn new things really fast and play what you enjoy. Dan does a great job of adapting the material to what your goals are, so it feels very personalised and a lot more motivating. Plus, there are a lot of opportunities to perform, which I was able to do only a few months of being in the school!

Yang Yang: Dan and Carys are really patient and helpful. I have made good progress here.

Klasa 2D: Im really enjoying my time with the group. Dan is very helpful and teaches on individual basis even during group classes. Those monthly bootcamps are amazing!

Guy Crompton: Picking up the guitar for the first time is never easy, it’s been great having such a patient and knowledgable tutor in Dan. Carys is also extremely welcoming as you walk in and immediately make you feel like home. I would highly recommend to anyone looking to learn guitar.

Charlie Jamison: Really encouraging, patient teachers who set clear goals and are enthusiastic about your progress. I’ve already seen good progress after a couple of months of lessons with Dan, and Carys is always a joy to deal with!

Nick Iyegbe: very seriously. You can learn alongside other students which gives a unique 'school' environment which I have found really helps encourage me to learn and imbues students with a sense of shared enthusiasm and purpose. Terms are punctuated with quarterly 'showcases' which gives those who want to perform an opportunity to do so. This is supplemented by a learning schema that is coherent and objective driven. For example, my personal goal was to get gigging again after a long hiatus and the school and I shortly after joining I completed my first gig in years. What an achievement! Well done guys keep it up!

Fiona Hall: Absolutely amazing place to learn how to play, practice and study the guitar

John Oxley: Started lessons here after around ten years away from playing. Rapidly made more progress than I ever had before. A really holistic way of learning, which not only advanced my playing but also my understanding of music theory and confidence with the instrument. The group sessions are a great way of learning - you get plenty of attention but also the chance to learn and play with others. I went from having never played in front of anyone else to performing at open mics in just a few months. The teaching structure is really excellent, ensuring everyone has a learning strategy that suits them and is followed. The teachers make complex aspects of guitar easy to understand while still encouraging you to develop and to become better at independent learning.Carys, Dan and Darryl are all great teachers, and the school is a superbly supportive environment. Would happily recommend to anyone.

Richard L: I've been at the school for about four years and I've learnt so much from the expert tuition. The lessons are really well thought out and personalised to each student with the benefit of learning together with other students in a class setting. I've learnt so much both technically and also in terms of music theory which makes each lesson a really well rounded experience. There are lots of opportunities to play with other students in a safe and fun way. It's also a very friendly school and I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone of whatever experience.

ceceliac10: I love this school and I am really enjoying lessons. Been attending for nearly a month. It’s a fun fill environment while learning. Never in my life have I seen 2 hour goes so fast. It’s hands on. Group lessons feels like 121 lesson. I look forward to lessons every week. Although I live very far away, it’s worth the travel. The teachers are great, easy to talk to and very helpful. It’s worth every penny. I was made to feel at home from the very first moment I walked into premises. Amazing instructors. I recommend them to anyone who will like to play the guitar.

Amatullah Thornhill: Amazing teachers!Really friendly! My 6 year old loves coming to her lessons and the workshops!Best decision I made for my daughter!

Jonathan Marius Charmesing Jones-Wong: , Carys was extremely helpful and patient in walking me through the system of the school and how classes are structured etc, which reassured me a ton before signing up.Most days, I take classes with Dan. He is an excellent teacher who has a keen sense in gauging the level of a student to help them learn and enjoy each class while also having the capacity to develop them further through the practices given. In spite of having to teach so many students throughout the day, he still accommodates to your needs depending on where you're at that day.Anyone interested in learning to play the guitar should definitely check out GTEL, they've got really interesting workshops and open mic events as well.

Angie Ah Kun: I started lessons at GTEL 4 years ago as a total beginner never having even held a guitar before. Daryl and Dan are excellent teachers and they have the special ability to assess which levels you are currently capable of playing at and what the next step will be to challenge you. They are hard working and very supportive! There is always something to learn on guitar and my friends and family have told me that they can see the progress I’ve made over time. The monthly workshops are fun and always have great themes. Jen and Daryl have built a community feeling that makes me feel like I am part of the guitar family! Carys is super helpful and she has taught me many things including how to restring my guitar! The effort you put in will determine what you get out of lessons. I would highly recommend GTEL.

Regina Siminderova: highly recommend it ❤️

Akiko Hobson: My son has been learning guitar with them for nearly 3 years and he has been very happy with the school as well as myself. He gets to practice all the “cool” tunes as well as techniques, and most importantly, he likes all the friends in the school and plays in the band with them. They have lots of performance opportunities and workshops and I really like the community spirit that the school has!! Everybody is friendly each other and support each other, and they all have the love of guitar and music!

Michal Zatyka: I’ve had about 4 months of lessons now and friends have commented that I ‘sound a lot better’ lol. Dan’s teaching gets to the heart of my goals so it’s not just that I’m playing new stuff, I’m playing what I knew a lot better and starting to understand what’s doing on. Carys is super friendly and always on it if I have any questions.

T B: My daughter has been attending for a few months now and is really enjoying it. The communal learning environment is great for her motivation. I love how they think hard about how kids learn and try and inspire curiosity in them. There is a good community feel. Dan and Carys, who run the children’s programme, are both really lovely.

Tutor Factory: Guitar Tuition East London is the most outstanding music school. My son has been attending classes for 8 months and in that short space of time, his knowledge of music and bass guitar skills have developed at an astonishing speed! This is all credit to the teachers, who not only teach but nurture each and every student in a positive, inspiring and inclusive environment. The teachers focus on each and every student's personal development and progress at a pace, which complements the student's ability and learning speed. In the short months that my son has been attending the school, he has already taken part in the annual 'Big Gig' and performed at two 'Open Mic' events, in addition to currently attending a course on recording a track with a band. The opportunities and benefits of this school are endless!

Stuart Bahn Guitar Lessons: what do users think?

Kengo Koizumi: Stuart is a excellent professional tutor. His lesson is always fun and I can learn new things every time.I have been taking his lesson for more than 3.5 years now. When I started his lesson, I was still a beginner and started from guitar basics like F bar chords. In his lessons so far, I have learned many guitar topics such as various chords, blues/rock solo, music theory, and so forth. Compared with the period before taking his lessons, my guitar skill and knowledge have been incredibly improved. We changed the lesson format from in-person to online with Zoom when the pandemic started. I had thought online lesson would be less effective but it’s not the case. Pen and paper were replaced by pdf and email but the quality of his lesson is totally same. It also makes lessons very flexible, especially for business persons who are working weekdays and busy for family duties at night and weekends. No hassle to drive or take trains.I highly recommend his lesson to all-level guitar players.

Steve Messersmith: I started taking lessons from Stuart when I was 54. Never having taken any music lessons before. He has tailored the lessons in such a way that makes them fun, challenging and I always come away excited about the practice and for the next lesson. Absolutely loving the guitar.

Simone Forbes: I have had guitar lessons with Stuart, and really enjoyed his lessons. Stuart is patient and made adjustments based on my learning style. I highly recommend.

Donald Macdonald: I’ve been with Stuart since October 2019. I didn’t know any guitar tutors nearby, so I relied on his website and testimonials in the first instance — like I guess you might too, if you are reading this. I can tell you that I haven’t been disappointed.I had some rudimentary skills, but had not played in a while. I knew chords, but I had no idea how everything fitted together, and not a clue about the underlying theory. I had reached the limit of what I could learn from youtube videos. I was on a journey without a map and only the vaguest idea of the possible destinations.Stuart is a natural teacher. He quickly understands what stage you are at, how to get started, and how to help you navigate your journey. He will pick out songs to learn based on what music you like, but will select them also because they illustrate, and give you the opportunity, to practise and understand the musical concepts and theory on which each song is structured. He is patient and his focus is on you and your needs, not using up time showing you how great his own riffs and solos are. He is equally good on acoustic and electric, and all styles of music.Covid lockdowns prevented conventional face to face teaching, so we switched to learning online via Zoom calls. In the intervening period Stuart has become expert at managing the new medium, and his online teaching is every bit as good as being with him in person.Hope that helps. As you can tell, I’m a fan.

KruszO: Been playing guitar for many years and wanted to tackle theory and take my playing and knowledge to the next level - Stuart is definitely the teacher for that, patient, methodical and an extremely good player he has analysed the areas for improvement and through carefully considered and structured online lessons he has already helped me develop as a player ten fold. Highly recommend!

StJJackson1: Positive:Professionalism,QualityStuart is a great teacher as well as being a highly competent player himself. I particularly appreciate his supportive and patient style of teaching which works well both in person and through his on-line classes.

Ian Pask: My fourteen year old daughter started with no Guitar experience whatsoever in February 2020,.First face to face and later due to Covid online. She has learnt and improved on a weekly basis to a high level. We are both very pleased with her progress which is due without doubt to Stuarts lesson planning, excellent delivery and overall efforts in the teaching of the Guitar.I would recommended him to anyone looking to learn and build on their skills.

Tom Rowles: I've been taking guitar lessons with Stuart for over a year now and I'm very happy that I decided to do so. Stuart is a great teacher and my repertoire of songs, as well as my understanding of music theory has expanded more than I would have believed in just the short time that I've been working with him.

mahadi yagoub: Positive:Communication,QualityStuart is a very dedicated and patient teacher. He helped my child achieve a distinction in grade 8 as well as help him to strengthen his technique and guitar skills. Would definitely recommend.

Adam Yagoub: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueVery patient and talented teacher. I Managed to achieve a distinction in grade 8 in only 2 months preparation thanks to his guidance. Would definitely recommend.

Pande Gialle: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueStuart is just the teacher that everyone would like and everyone would benefit. He is patient, knowledgeable, skilled, professional and emphatic. I really enjoyed his lessons and I learnt so much from him.The price is all worth it.

Ed Williams: I've known Stuart professionally for many years, both through teaching and performance work. His skills as a musician are first rate, as is his teaching ability. He has a great combination of ability, experience and methodology. If you are looking for a highly experienced guitar teacher in West London, look no further.Stuart's tried and tested teaching approach will take you to the next level for sure!Very highly recommended.

Lorraine Jones: Stuart is always professional, patient, and makes a lovely cup of tea! 😁

junipetta: Stuart is an incredible teacher who has been teaching me for around 2 years now, and I couldn’t be happier his tuition. He is incredibly kind, dedicated, patient and understanding - the markings of a great teacher. His lessons have great structure, but he is never too afraid to stray from the plan in order to answer my questions. In the past two years, I have incredibly more confident and interested in guitar, and music more widely. I would very much recommend Stuart’s services, and he’s an amazing guitar teacher.

Noboru Kataoka: He is the best guitar teacher I 've ever seen! He is trying to make your guitar skill improving seriously!

Roger Swift: Stuart has a very organised and professional approach. He can play and he can teach.

Rajesh Kaushal: Stuart has been teaching me for a number of months now. His lessons are well constructed and he has the patience of a saint. He is exceptionally professional, knowledgeable and actually an all round good guy. I would highly recommend him to any new or experienced learner. Please feel free to contact me if you need any further feedback.

Louisa Lemoine: I highly recommend Stuart as a tutor. He is calm and patient, highly skilled and knowledgeable. Lessons are a joy! His teaching has improved my technique and built up my confidence.

Claud: Gentleman and a fantastic teacher.

Noleen John: My daughter has been having lessons for 3 years now and really thoroughly enjoys her them. She finds the way Stuart teaches enables her to pick up new songs quickly. She also appreciates his calmness and patience when it does not all go to plan!

Tom's Guitar Lessons in Bromley: what do users think?

Arianna Buratto: Whether you are interested in learning just a few songs or having more in-depth music lessons, Tom is your man. I would highly recommend taking lessons with him.

wayne crossfield: I started guitar lessons with Tom almost a year ago after trying lessons on YouTube. The progress with Tom cannot be compared someone showing you where you are going wrong or alternative ways to play chords helps immensely. I have come on in leaps and bounds playing different types and styles of music. He even reintroduced group Sessions with other students of a similar level which is not only great fun, confidence boosting and challenging, but makes the point of wanting to learn to play with confidence & with others enjoyable.None of us are perfect, but it reassures you that we are travelling along the same learning path, learn from each other,….and you don’t need to hold your breath while playing 😁Thanks Tom 👍

Stephen Teague: If you live in south London/Kent and you are looking for a guitar tutor Tom is your man! He has a very easy going nature, is very patient and follows up each lesson with videos and emails. He has a purpose built facility and caters for all levels of guitar player …. Highly recommended 👍🏼🎸

Sean Geraghty: Tom connects with his students, grasps the level they are at and works very hard for them to improve and learn. During every lesson, he emails what has been covered and sends examples of how to play. He is a true professional and enjoys his work, thereby putting you at ease.A pleasure to have spent time with him and learned a great deal from him.

Chris Larkin: Highly recommended.

Jason Chase: I’ve been having bass and guitar lessons with Tom for around 18 months. I started as a complete beginner on stringed instruments and am really pleased with the progress I have made. Tom’s teaching style is relaxed and he’s happy to accommodate any pieces or ideas I want to develop. The lessons are structured so that the underlying theory is incorporated into the themes we are working on and therefore it doesn’t feel like a chore. Highly recommended!

Arthur Miles: from his well-equipped Bromley studio. I highly recommend Tom to all who are looking for a professional guitar teacher at all levels and ages.

David Shaw: Positive:ProfessionalismI've been seeing Tom now for almost a year and during that time I've learnt some great new songs and techniques. It's a very chilled lesson and he works with you to get the best out of your playing. David Dec 2020

Courtney: Unequivocally recommend! Tom has been teaching me for 7 months and it's been a great experience. Learning as an adult seemed daunting but Tom has made it highly enjoyable, focusing on the process being fun whilst honing skills. Additionally, Tom always takes time to answer questions outside of lesson time and provide videos to assist with parts I struggle with.

Daniel S: Tom is a very knowledgeable guitar teacher. He puts a lot of thought and consideration into his lessons, making them fun and accessible. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to get into guitar!

Andrew McAleer: Tom is an excellent teacher, with really useful techniques for getting the most out of students. My experience of learning guitar with him far exceeded my expectations.

ian skelton: Great teacher, very patient and always sets rhythm of lesson to suit progress. Delivers a set of lessons focusing on areas that need improvement and adds in lots of variation to keep all lessons fresh. Would not have progressed anywhere near as much without Tom’s help from total beginner. A really great and patient teacher. 50+ new acoustic guitar player

Carolina Sanchez: Tom is a very clever and enthusiastic teacher. He is able to pick the reason behind mistakes and tailors the lesson to the student’s objectives. He’s brilliant!

Charlotte C: Tom taught me anything I wanted to learn: bass, acoustic guitar and electric. Every lesson I could say a song I wanted to learn and even if he didn't know the song, he would be able to figure it out in seconds and give me a fun an engaging lesson from it. I have learnt so much since being taught by him. The best part is you get to go at your own pace. I have improved immensely over the past months!

Conor O'Sullivan (Conor): Really enjoying my lessons with Tom. I'm a few months in, started with no experience & feel happy to entertain some friends/family with a few songs. The sessions are structured & also very enjoyable. If I hear a song I'd like to try Tom breaks it down simply and usually within a few days I'm able to somewhat replicate it.Overall an awesome guy to learn from. Very patient & a natural teacher. I can't recommend him enough, in fact I have already to some friends and family!

anje wells: Tom has been teaching my 6 year old son for almost a year.My son is fanatical about music and Tom taps into this and plans each lesson around Teds love of music and bands. This in turn makes Ted eager to learn and progress comes naturally.I feel like we've stumbled across a true gem! Thanks Tom 👌🏽

Andrew G: Great teacher and gave me the confidence to play my first gig after only playing guitar for a few months. Would definitely recommend. 5/5

Jeff Turner: For someone that spent 4 years struggling with you tube videos and countless books from Amazon I feel qualified to advise not going down that route if you want to learn to play the guitar properly anytime soon. Signing up with Tom was the best thing I've done to try to forefill my dream of playing in a band. Whilst I have a long way to go Tom is the person who is going to get me there quicker than anything I could do by going alone. Tom has a nice, relaxed style making you feel instantly at ease with any feelings of inadequacy you may have. Every time I leave a lesson I always feel inspired and motivated to put the hours of practice in until the next one. So if you are thinking of signing up with Tom then my advice is don't hesitate, just do it. You won't regret it.

Cian Agnew: Tom has been teaching me for a few months now and I'm delighted with the results. He listened carefully to my reasons for wanting to learn the guitar and has structured our sessions against those original objectives. As a result the lessons have been hugely enjoyable and informative, and I've picked up a new hobby in my thirties!

Neil Witherow: Recently finished Tom's Beginner Bass Course. Absolutely fantastic teacher, had us playing basslines right from the first lesson, which I wasn't expected. Introduced musical theory and techniques through clever use of popular tunes and backed up with timely refresher videos between lessons. Highly recommend.

Guitar lessons in Acton: what do users think?

Jonathan Owens: Positive:Quality,ValueRamon's knowledge of Flamenco, acoustic guitar, practicing and performing is extremely high. I always come away from his classes feeling uplifted and with strong musical goals to achieve.

Sebastian Ruiz: I enjoyed lessons with Ramon and he is great with beginners

Katja falinski: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueRamon has helped me develop a much deeper understanding of guitar. He is very experienced and patient. Loved his lessons!

Chris Pedley: Ramón is a fantastic teacher and arguably the UK's leading flamenco guitarist. He teaches all levels and is an incredible communicator of music. I have studied flamenco guitar in some of Andalusia's top flamenco schools but always go back to Ramón him have never come across a better teacher. Also a lovely guy with infinite paciente and perseverance with students.

ashley Wijesinghe: I studied to play Flamenco Guitar under Ramon for the last couple of years and had to stop due to Covid 19. I am hoping to start again in the near future.I was interested to study playing Bulerias and although that is taught in final part of the repertoire, he taught me in a step by step fashion by teaching the importance of the compass and the riffs. And bringing them together. I would say he is an excellent guitarist and understand the weakness of s tudent and pinpoint in a positive manner to correct the mistakes. In my opinion he believes in good itechque and to be able to stick to the Compass in Flamenco Guitar playing.

Ben Cox-Smith: Ramon is a fantastic teacher as well as an incredibly skilled guitarist and musician. I've been having lessons with him for about 5 years and his methods, kindness and patience mean I leave every class inspired and motivated. I couldn't recommend him more.

Karl Gilbeys: Positive:Communication,Quality,ValueRamon is one of the best flamenco musicians in the country and he is a wonderful and generous teacher.

Gilbeys Yard TRA: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueBrilliant musician and a patient and empathetic teacher, one of the best around. Highly recommended.

michael briody: Ramon is a professional musician and a very skilled flamenco teacher. He is very patient and will go over a piece again and again. He is able to pick out my weak points and work on them. He has a wealth of knowledge, I definitely recommend Ramon.

Peter: I'm an intermediate flamenco guitarist who has been having lessons with Ramon for a couple of years now both 1-1 and in groups. After hearing him play in my first lesson I knew he was the right guitar teacher for me because he's extremely skilled but also a very patient teacher. I would fully recommend him to anyone interested in learning. Also a very nice chap!
