Cookery School at Little Portland Street: what do users think?

Alexandra Zeevalkink: Really enjoyed the knife skills class here. John and Michela were wonderful. Found it super interesting.

Tom Gray: Knife skills - I attended the course led by John and Michaela, coming into it with some knowledge but poor technique. The course is well planned and run. We learned a variety of techniques for all sorts of different shapes and sizes of vegetables and meat. I left with greater confidence in how to do things quickly, efficiently and safely than when I started. Highly recommended. Xxxxxx

Jessica Ryan: Loved the fish and shellfish course! Great for learning techniques and recipes I wouldn’t have tried. John was a great instructor. Would definitely go back and try other courses.

Zahra Rose: Such a beautiful start and stories of the origins of the school. Very knowledgeable staff members and teachers. Top spec equipment, clean environment, hygiene taken very seriously and Betty environmentally aware and friendly in all aspects, great location, 10/10 for teaching styles and attention to detail! Loved every moment. Thank you for having me!

Olivia Allen: What a great class! Teacher was amazing, funny, friendly and extremely knowledgeable. We learnt so much in about 3.5 hours, ate so many tasty things, and got loads to take home! I am an avid baker but certainly learnt a lot of new things, though I think it is also very beginner friendly too.Couldn't recommend enough and I will certainly be booking another class with the Cookery School. Thank you!

Katarina Punovuori: Such a wonderful cookery school tucked away near Oxford Circus tube station. Did the Essential Vegetarian course as a novice cook and learnt so much. Staff were very knowledgeable, helpful and practical which really helped with learning. Leaving with a selection of new favourite recipes and enthusiasm for good food. Highly recommend for anyone interested in trying their hand at cooking!EDIT: Have now also attended the knife skills workshop. This was more focused on technique and practicing skills. Very useful and enjoyable! Highly recommend!

Nicolas Kokkinos: I left stuffed to the gills on this fish cooking course. Absolutely a joy learning about how to cook different kinds of fish and various different sauces. Loved it - and John the instructor was so engaging.

Nik Miranthis: Did the fantastic fish course- it was fantastic

Amanda Ramirez: Excellent course!I learned loads.Thank you John, your wisdom, skill and energy was much appreciated.Amanda

Henna A: I was gifted a gift voucher to attend the knife skills class, John was a brilliant teacher. The class was fun, informative and to the point. We also got to eat the lunch we help made - which was delicious. I would definitely recommend this class.

Jorgelina Echavarria: Took the absolute beginners course and it was everything they promised and more! Amazing recipes, food, and learned so many new techniques. Shoutout to John for the great experience.

Sacha Palmer: Such an amazing class - I went for the knife skill course and I was really impressed. Great tips and quality food. I highly highly recommend!!

Rupert Clark: Just done the knife skills class. Just super - really good fun and I learned so many ways to make my cooking faster and easier!

Jeremy Gilbert: I did the knives skills class and learnt alot. The teacher was really good and the practical experiences were broad and useful! The lunch was excellent as well. I would highly recommend.

Anya Clarkson: An absolutely fantastic session - I did the one day Spanish home cooking lesson and learnt so much. The recipes were easy to follow and John did a wonderful job of explaining everything. I learnt so many new skills and the food tasted amazing. So lovely to sit down with a glass of wine at the end and enjoy the product of my labours!

mirela stoica: I attended at the Absolute Beginners, I’m so glad i bought this course, we learned new techniques and how to use different ingredients. John is an amazing chef, he wouldn't let us leave the building until we had memorized everything he taught us. Thank you John. Highly recommend!Ps: After Absolute beginners course , I also bought The Ultimate Fish and Shellfish, and Spain Home cooking classes 😊😁

Aliya Panju: The absolute beginners course here was phenomenal. The staff was extremely helpful and accommodating. The course teaches you multiple cooking skills but most importantly you’ll learn how to cut onions and garlic properly. So I would highly recommend doing a course/ class since this was a great experience.

John Hardy: All were restaurant grade food that we cooked. The bottomless wine is great, my daughter and I had such fun on the Indian Street Food, defo going to try and bring my young boys on their school holidays to try out a kids class. We have given these as birthday presents as well as just come because we are addicted to The Avenue, their way of doing a class making it fun and enjoyable.Keep it up folks !

Eleanor Stone: My sister and I enjoyed a great vegan baking class. I can't believe we made so much and had it all to take away with us! Even though I've done a lot of baking, I still learnt lots - Richard is very knowledgeable and entertaining. Only thing I would change - if we had got the carrot cake in the oven sooner, before he explained the other bakes, it would have had longer to cool and the icing wouldn't have melted on the way home!

Dawn: What a fabulous cookery school! We really enjoyed the fish class...Richard was super knowledgeable, good fun & taught us loads!

David Attwell Thomas: My partner and I went along to a Sunday morning donut making class and had a great time - the school is lovely, really well taught and all the folk working there were very kind and helpful.

Tom Heinink: An absolutely brilliant evening with Rich and his team. Learnt how to make a range of tapas, drank a lot of wine, and ate a delicious meal. Highly recommended!

Tom Gooding: Fabulous school. Family run business that offers informative, fun, social and great value classes. The facility in Wandsworth is a brilliantly equipped kitchen in an easily accessible location. I would, and regularly do highly recommend them to friends and family! Thank you guys

Eva Adam: and both times were absolutely incredible. Richard is an amazing chef with a vast of knowledge and really good teaching skills. They always create a lovely atmosphere and able to tailor to individual needs so even if you are more experienced in the kitchen you come away with real pro tips. He also makes sure that he spends time with everyone therefore you truly benefit from the feedback and adjustments. I would recommend this place for everyone: couple’s datenights, cooking enthusiasts, new to cooking, experienced home cooks. You’ll have a great time, amazing food and drinks and will come away with lots of new skills that you can put into practice straight away.

London Cookery School: what do users think?

P .K: really enjoyed it!

viola pica: I attended the Dim Sum 3h cooking class with my boyfriend and it was delightful. Our teacher Will was quick to make all the guests feel relaxed and excited and kept us engaged all the way through. The way we were taught all the tricks for the dough and the fillings and the shaping of the dim sums was easy to follow and very fun to learn. Will is obviously experienced in what he does and is also capable of lightening up the mood for beginners who find the shaping of the dim sum difficult. The class ended with our cooked dim sums tasting great and a lot of interesting new knowledge regarding this dish. I would highly recommend as a gift for a parent or partner or friend, it’s a great experience

Ruti Amal: My partner and I had an amazing dim sum making class today. Easy instructions, great sense of humour, enouragement and tasty results! Highly recommended. We want to go for the sushi class too.

Toby Playfair: Really enjoyed the beginners dim sum class led by Will

Emma: I was bought a sushi making experience as a gift and it was brilliant. Will taught us and he was so enthusiastic, detailed and clear. The sushi was great, you get to make loads and then eat it all after!

elaine s.: It was an absolutely joy to spend 3h cooking and eating our delicious dim sum! Antonina was our. chef and she did an amazing job teaching us. Her assistant was sick so she had to do it all by herself and she was brilliant at it! My daughter thoroughly enjoyed it.

thomas michael wallace: Took my Dad for his birthday and had a lot of fun learning how to make Sushi with Will!

Tim Hall: My wife, daughter and I took a dim sum class this past weekend with Will from the London Cookery School. My daughter purchased this class for us as a Christmas gift, all of us to do together. The experience was far better than I had imagined. Will – the instructor and owner of the school – is an excellent instructor. He was engaging and entertaining, and the three hour experience passed very fast as a result. We love dim sum, and this is absolutely the perfect introductory class. We got to eat what we made at the end, and that was the real cherry on the cake. We are all keen to develop our skills at home for dim sum, and Will got us off to a flying start. We might go back and try the school’s sushi prep class too, because if it is of the same calibre as the dim sum class, it would be outstanding.I highly recommend this class. You will find your afternoon with Will delightful, and you will leave with an excellent knowledge of how to make dim sum. It is a great way to spend a half day with friends or family.

Richard Wolfe: Enjoyable. Informative and funRichard

Hayley Watson: Completed the dim sum class with my partner. So much fun and the teacher was brilliant. Easy to understand the instructions and she got straight to the point. Best bit was being able to eat what we made and you could even order a wine or beer to go with your meal. I would definitely recommend!

Vieri Nucci: Thank you Will for the class. It was all well planned, managed and lead. We had a good time and learned how to make 3 different types of dim sum during the 3 hours long class. And of course they were delicious!

Phil Allen: really enjoyed the evening, which Will made super fun and relaxing. Learnt some great techniques and also some secrets. I’m looking forward to putting what I’ve learned in the practice at home. Thanks again Will for a fantastic evening.

The Operatic Physio: Will is an engaging teacher, easy to understand and makes the class entertaining. Learned lots of interesting facts about dim sums and was surprised by the professionalism of the final product! Highly recommend this for a date night or double date idea!

James Carpenter: Thank you to Will for a relaxing, informative and delicious sushi making experience! I appreciated the energy you brought to the class as well as the balance of professionalism and humour. I will say that when we arrived we weren’t sure if we were in the right place because the outside of the building wasn’t what we expected but that’s no discredit to the class itself.

The classes are well taught and, more importantly, for someone who isn’t a huge fan of cooking, highly entertaining! Jean Marc & Emily are great teachers - both patient and offer good tips to make replicating the experience at home easier. They made everyone feel so at ease. I would highly recommend. The food was absolutely delicious! 🤤😋

Jonathan R: hosted by Jean-Marc and Emily who were excellent teachers. We learned a lot, particularly regarding how to

Sara White: It’s definitely worth it. I had the best time! I did the Italian cooking class from 11-4 and it went by so fast. Everything was amazing! The staff, the food, the atmosphere. Loved every minute of it and it is by far the best cooking class I have been to.Most cooking classes the portions at the end are very small but here I actually left feeling very full and that’s saying something… for me. You get to cook quite a lot of different dishes and styles of cooking which is great. The chef was very knowledgeable and entertaining and the two guys helping out in the back were super lovely and very quick and tidying up. I didn’t know drinks were included but that was a nice surprise - red, white and cucumber water available throughout the entire class.Couldn’t fault it - going back for the Vietnamese lessons next and I can’t wait!

Yuki's Kitchen: what do users think?

Ava Bajpai: We had such an amazing time with Yuki.We booked her class because my dad is an intermediate chef and she offered a custom class that allowed us to all learn and have fun together. We won't ever forget the class and we made such delicious healthy food, it was surprising how little salt oil etc was involved!Yuki had a wealth of knowledge about the ingredients and the science behind them. It was easy to follow and I'm looking forward to doing more classes online and trying the recipes myself at home!

Alexey Subach: A great experience - the chef is a very friendly person, making the atmosphere relaxed yet educational and tasty. I personally did not learn way lot during the gourmet sushi and sashimi master class but there were a few things I knew about and was budget to start doing at home. All the cooking process was transparent and the chef did not try to hide any secrets. The quality of products and fish was great. I also appreciated that aside from the masterclass it was a great culinary experience and we had a lot of tasty food to try. I definitely recommend this school to sushi lovers, especially if you haven’t booked sushi at home yet

The pace was good - it was quite swift but Yuki always went back to recap and made sure everyone was still on track. This meant we were able to make quite a few things in the time allocated. I'd highly recommend this class, and hope to be able to do another one myself in the future. Thank you Yuki!

Joe Kallarackal: We attended the 3 Flavours Ramen class and it was a great demonstration class. Full of useful tips and tricks, including what brands to buy, from where, and how to prep ramens in advance. We didn't realise we'd get 3 portions of ramen in the class so left stuffed. Yuki has a very welcoming and fun energy which made the class fly by.

Laura Puiggalí González: I did a 'gyoza from scratch' class, and it was incredible! Yuki was lovely and energetic, and her explanations were very clear. I particularly enjoyed how detailed the written materials were - after the class, I've been able to continue making my gyozas and they are looking better every time. I will definitely be signing up to more!

Sahar I. Khan: Lately I completed #frenchpatisserie course from @waitroseandpartners cookery school London and loved every bit of it. It was a wonderful experience throughout the day, it was like being on a TV cooking show ☺ I'm highly impressed by their professionalism. They provided us lunch, printed recipes, coffee and drinks. The staff was very welcoming and waiting area was nice and cosy. I'm definitely going back for another course but there are limited seats available due to social distancing. Our course started at 10:00 and finished at around 16:00. Our instructors were Helen & Emily at Finchley Road, both were very helpful and friendly.

Pau B: Went to the knife skills course and it was life changing!! Realised it is the basic of all cooking to know how to use the knives properly. The chef was really good and helped us so much. Explained everything really well, answered our questions and helped our technique while we cooked our 3 course meal. The 5 hrs flew by. I didn't know what to expect but I'm not disappointed and definitely going back!

J Wengrowe: Came for the Middle Eastern cooking class a few months ago. The teaching was excellent and really enjoyed the variety of dishes we created. Would recommend this for anyone interested in cooking and learning something new.

Greg Paton-Kerr: Great chefs great experience and we'll run. Clean facilities well managed and well thought through

Caroline Kirkman: Dimsum course with Chef Cher.Really enjoyed this course! Chef Cher was very engaging and so knowledgable about all sorts of Asian and world cuisine. The course was well structured with teaching how to use a Chinese cleaver safely and efficiently at the beginning. We made our own dumpling pastry as well as using shop bought sheets. The ingredients were simple and delicious. We made a stir fry for lunch which was a bonus skill to learn!I left the course confident that I could replicate the dimsum at home both in terms of the ingredients used and the skills I learned.I highly recommend this course.

Atsuko's Kitchen: what do users think?

Zhivka Gucevska: Atsuko's sushi class is super fun! You learn how to make sushi rice, how to cut your fish, and how to make different kinds of sushi. And at the end, you get to eat all the delicious sushi you made.I highly recommend it!

Monica Kelly: Had such a lovely time learning to make a Japanese bento box. The recipes were super easy to follow and so delicious! Atsuko is so kind and energetic. And it was so nice to meet other aspiring home cooks

Perys Pullen (Blazanator X): Atsuko leads an amazing cooking class. Authentic recipes, ingredients, excellent teaching and an environment which is intimate and welcoming. I cannot recommend the experience highly enough. My Fiancé and I took part in the gyoza making class for my birthday and we had a brilliant time. Looking forward to trying another one, maybe okonomiyaki or sushi next!

Sarah Tsang: Atsuko is a great teacher, and the class was fun with plenty of hand-on experiences and also practical tips!

Giorgia Aversa: I signed up for the Beginners Japanese Cuisine class and I was blown away but the attention to details and general high standard of this class. Atsuko is an incredible teacher, she was very generous and attentive.I feel it was worth every penny and I’ve left with a much deeper understanding of this beautiful culture through their cuisine. Location is absolutely stunning.Shout out to Atsuko’s assistant as well for being so helpful and kind.Highly recommend.

Thomas Laurent: Absolutely fantastic class! Atsuko is a great teacher and the sushis were delicious despite being my very first time making some.

Bernardo Amorim Vieira: We had a corporate event with Atsuko and it was brilliant. Everyone loved it and we had a great time as a team while learning a lot about sushi and Japan.I definitely recommend going for a class as there is a perfect blend between context, history and sushi making techniques. Also, there is time for chatting and learning which gives a great vibe to the room! It was a great pleasure and we all enjoyed the time with a great sushi chef!

Matej Sova: Great sushi class by Atsuko. The sushi class was fantastic!Atsuko gave us good explanation of all steps of the process including rice cooking and fish slicing. She was very friendly and keen to explain and answer all our questions. The kitchen environment was nice, cozy and spacious enough for all 10 attendees.Arigato gozaimasu, Atsuko!

Jordan D: My wife and I went and we had a good time! I have tried making sushi at home before but going here to see and learn from a pro is really going to improve my skills at home, so thank you! We did feel that for the price we should of got more fish and/or made more sushi. I wasn't "wow'ed" by the experience or food. I was thinking that maybe if we would of got one of her best made sushi roles each at the end to show us how good it can be, that might of "wow'ed" us, but no we only ate the ones we made. Just drive here, you can park on the street, there was plenty of spots and its RinGo.

O G: . I’ve attended the Tofu course and let me tell you this, it was insane how versatile and amazing tofu can be

Chris B: Angela and I had a very enjoyable afternoon at Atsuko's kitchen. With eight others, she showed us the theory and practice of making sushi. She is not only very knowledgeable but very friendly and helpful. The result was we all sat down at the end with a feast of sushi and a cup of rice wine. We would fully recommend one of her courses to anyone with an interest in sushi.

Bartłomiej Dziedzic: Beginner cooking class was a fantastic introduction to Japanese cuisine.Atsuko was a great host and thought us to cook delicious and homey food, as well as shared with us interesting facts about Japanese culture. We had a great time and I would recommend it for both individuals and couples.

Celine Lin: 6 hour beginner class was an absolute food fest. Atsuko is super friendly and explained the cultural background of every dish along side of cooking. The studio has a cosy vibe and is well located. Highly recommend the experience.

Sasha Lysons: Brilliant class!!. I went along with my 16yr old daughter. Atsuko is a great teacher, the class was informative and fun. We are looking forward to making our own sushi.

Adam: Really enjoyed the Bento class - learned a lot and had a delicious lunch!

The Kids' Kitchen: what do users think?

James Menendez: An excellent course which my daughter enjoyed very much. Delicious recipes that worked perfectly - great for confidence in the kitchen!

Chloe Elms: and I was so impressed by her ability to engage them and answer all of their questions while remaining calm and friendly. The content of the course and homework was interesting, stretching and very well structured and ensured they learnt a host of new skills, while also cooking family friendly meals. Nicole communicated with the group clearly and gave feedback between the classes which meant everything ran super smoothly. I could not fault it! Thanks Nicole!

natasha sullivan: Positive:Communication,ProfessionalismWe had our first class with Nicole today and loved it! The kids did almost everything on their own and the results were pretty spectacular and more importantly, delicious! We will be doing this again. Thanks Nicole xx

Adam Riley: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,QualityMy daughter and I have loved cooking along with Nicole on our Saturday mornings. She is a great teacher and we have learnt to cook all kinds of dishes that we never would have done by ourselves!

Tina Malde: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueWe have been doing the cooking lessons since October 2020. My son absolutely loves these sessions, Nicole is very friendly and patient with the children and always praising the children for their work. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone else who is looking to sign up as the recipes caters for all.

Neil Malde: Positive:ProfessionalismThe kids kitchen is very fun and I use Nicole‘s recipes for meals and she explains how to make the food very well.I find in very educational and enjoyable

Tracy Birne: Highlight of our week, cooking with Kids Kitchen and Nicole. My daughter is now so confident in the kitchen, great technique and adventurous in her cooking and trying new tastes. Highly recommend for everyone to join online.

Samantha barrett: Over the last year my 9 year old daughter has learnt to cook with confidence under Nicole’s expert teaching, which I wouldn’t of thought possible online. For me the most important thing is that she is willing to try new foods, because she has cooked the dish herself. As a family we have all tried new foods, and it has been great to have an activity which we enjoy doing together, I have learnt a few new skills as well and we have some new family favourite recipes.

Shara Cohen: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueThe Kids Kitchen always created wonderful workshops. Events that people will be talking about for a long time. My children have been participating in their events for many years and most recently they participated in a charity event run by the kids kitchen which was great fun. I would recommend this company without any hesitation.

Charlotte Upjohn: We discovered Nicole and her brilliant cookery classes during the first lockdown. My 9 year old daughter loved the diverse recipes, so when Nicole started the weekly Saturday cookery club, we jumped at the chance to take part.Florence has grown in confidence and isn’t fazed by anything. She’s learnt useful knife skills and different cooking techniques and she can mostly do the classes solo.As the classes are recorded, if you miss a live Saturday morning session, you can do it another time that suits you.Recipes and ingredients lists are sent for the month in advance, so it’s easy to be prepared.Thank you, Nicole for your engaging classes, with delicious results 😀

Sally: My daughter found Nicole’s classes on Facebook at the very beginning of lockdown. I thought it would be a great distraction away from homeschooling and might even save me making lunch every now and again if she could learn to cook a few dishes. Over a year on and my daughter might not be doing cook club as much as she was but at 13 and a half she cooks our family evening meal 3 times a week for me and it is a godsend for a busy working from home mum. That is all down to the confidence she gained from cook club! Now I just need a cleaning club for her to learn to do the tidying up after! Thank you you Nicole x

Louise Wickham: I cannot recommend the kids’ kitchen highly enough. Over the last year my children have learnt to cook with confidence under Nicole’s expert teaching. They have tackled savoury dishes, baking and cake decorating. I would never have believed that they would be able to cook such a variety of dishes mostly independently. But for me, above all this is the fact that they have become less picky - because they have cooked the dish they are happy to try it!

Amii Ruan: My daughters have been attending online sessions on Facebook with The Kids' Kitchen for a year now - first as a part of free lockdown sessions and then as part of the paid for "Kid's Cook Club". Nicole is excellent at explaining things in a way that children understand and simplifying recipes. We use so many of her recipes as a part of our every day meals.

Louise Biddulph: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueMy children really enjoyed the classes with Nicole and Kids Kitchen. There was a great variety of recipes; some familiar some not so. They learned new skills in the kitchen and grew in confidence using the equipment and understanding different ways of cooking. I would highly recommend the classes.

Charlotte Frost: Amazing online cooking classes - she caters for each and every child and makes it feel like a one to one, face to face experience.

Becky Lovatt: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueThe kids kitchen club has been amazing it has help both my 9 year old son and myself grow in confidence in the kitchen. Although the lockdown it has been a lifeline. Nicole is a fantastic teacher who enabled each person to develop at their own pace. I higher recommend this club.

Rose Richardson: ! I HIGHLY recommend The Kid’s Kitchen in-person group lessons as well as The Kid’s Kitchen Kid Cooking Club online ones too!

Helen Sinclair: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,QualityNicole is a phenomenal teacher. Highly recommend

Karen Hertzog: Positive:Communication,ProfessionalismMy son signed up for a cooking course for dofe. Found Nicole to be extremely patient and calm and made each session really enjoyable, whilst my son produced a range of delicious and mouth watering dishes. Would highly recommend Nicole!

Andree Lyon: My daughter has cooked with kids kitchen online throughout lock down for free, saturday morning online cooks club and the summer holiday summer cook camp. The lessons are very varied, very well presented and very informative. Nicole offers lots of alternatives for allergy sufferers and lots of ideas and suggestions so the mini chefs can choose. This has helped my daughters confidence and given her a sense of purpose. My daughter now has a big selection of recipes to choose from, whole 3 course menus and even an afternoon tea to simple quick salads and pasta dishes.

Natural & Vegan Chef Course London: what do users think?

Amanda Taylor: I enrolled on CNM Vegan Natural Chef to learn more about nutrition and to ensure I was eating everything I needed on a plant based diet. It has actually taught me so much more…Right from the start learning about how the systems of the body work and the amazing impact that food has, in positive and negative ways… it changes the way you think. From the importance of knife skills to how to photograph food, and vegan cheeze to fermentation.. it is well put together and there are many elements of the course that I have introduced into my daily life.It has been a great foundation as I consider embarking on a new career.

Sally Wilson: I love this course, I have met so many lovely, talented people as well as the amazing lecturers. I've learnt so much and I'm still only half way in.

Carolina Briceno Betancourt: I love learning at CNM and I have the tools to keep going creating healthy and yum food for me, my family and clients.

Driekie Zietsman: I enjoyed my Natural Chef course but was disappointed in the baking part of the course. As a pathetic baker, I was exited about learning the ins and outs of baking. Sadly, it was all based on vegan baking and I learnt very little. Otherwise, it was great.

The school is beautiful with a magical vibe, making it perfect for any celebration. Charlotte, who runs the school, was incredibly hospitable, and we had a great time. We cooked two pasta dishes and tiramisu from scratch, complemented by Prosecco and a variety of wines. The school's beautiful garden is ideal for sunny days. Despite being in a class of strangers, everyone was soon chatting to each other and there was no awkwardness—something I was a little worried about beforehand! We started cooking right away, beginning with antipasti and soon getting started on preparing our main courses. Although you're cooking as a group, you always have something to do and are never just standing around watching others have all the fun. The whole process was brilliant, with tons of advice offered throughout that can be applied to cooking beyond the recipes we made during the class.Once everything was made we sat down to eat at the dining table. It was so nice to be able to share in what we'd made in such a friendly and comfortable setting, and not to brag but we made some *very* good food. I left feeling inspired to try new recipes, and to replicate some of the dishes we made at home.Thank you to Charlotte and the team for such a brilliant day, and I hope to come back again!

tone Rietig: which thankfully can be recreated at home,
