El Vermut: what do users think?

Charlotte PARIS: A fantastic spot specifically for vermouth and wine . It feels nice and unpretentious, a bar that could actually be found South of the Pyrenees. They do live music and also deli. Some people book seats or tables at the weekend, so you may want to do that for a big party as you don't have that many seats... or stand! My only feedback would be that the seats aren't super comfortable.

Jon Woodason: El Vurmut is a bar with experience and attitude. The bartender's are kind, thoughtful, witty and funny; completely willing to commit to a funny joke. The drinks are very diverse for just being wines/vermouths.If you go here only for the atmosphere it'll be worth it but maybe trying beyond a negroni will be well worth it.

Gen R: My friend brought me to El Velmut yesterday as part of our early Christmas celebration. It was incredibly busy and tight for space, at least at the start...... which is why the staff should be celebrated. In a small popular London bar, it would be easy to just let squished footfall flow and be at it. However, the staff actively adapted. We had a lovely bar staff member give us a heads up on wait times and try to adapt the service to cut down lines waiting and sitting. The team were really welcoming despite having a lot to balance and quick. That's not forgetting that the drinks and the snacks were really tasty all on their on.El Vermut is the perfect first date or mate meet-up venue. It's off the beaten track for Nunhead and has music events and karaoke on some nights. I would advise plan ahead... which we didn't do too well, to work out the best time to get in. It has ample seating and a decor and vibe but definitely is popular with the hip crowd who know it.

Oliver Smith: Lovely bar with fantastic interior. The wines on the menu were all good choices but there was not a massive range. Very friendly staff.

Jimmy Chiba: Nice and cosy vibes. Nice community feeling 👌

Paul Madison: A total hidden treasure. Staff are always friendly, love their drinks menu and it's effortlessly cool.

Zoe Zero: This is absolutely my favourite bar in south London! The staff are always so friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is lively, buzzy and fun. They play great music including live music on Sunday evenings.I have scrolled back through older reviews from when the bar first opened three or four years ago, but I’m glad to see virtually every more recent review is 5 star. This is a true reflection of this amazing, friendly neighbourhood bar, which has got much livelier in recent years as word has spread. Can’t wait to go back soon, for my favourite Espresso Martini.

Emily Caiger: Friendly and attentive staff, quick service too. Best place to come for a fun night and the live music is amazing! Brought my friends here for the first time and they’ve all been back multiple times since. Love the vibe of the place and hope it stays the same, favourite place in south london!

Stefan Nunn: Lunchtime sojourn to Nunhead Green for a visit to a wine bar which serves a wide range of Vermouths. The "Hora de la Vermut" isn't just a drink in Spain, but also an activity. It's said one vermouth before lunch is good, two are better. No food at lunch time so between us we tried 4 vermouth, all excellent and recommended by knowledgeable and friendly staff. Suffice to say the place wasn't rocking, but an appearance by the local Elvis was made. We will be visiting again and sample the atmosphere a little later.

Simon Grove: High conviction recommendation

Ed Burgess: Great bar. Lovely vibe. Excellent drinks and brilliant bar folk. We’ll be back!

Samara: And they also often have live music in a little room at the back.Inside is cosy and atmospheric, a perfect place to go on a date!

The Remedy Wine Bar Shop & Kitchen: what do users think?

London Double Trouble: A hidden gem, what a treat! So pleased to have gone, a great vibe. The staff were really friendly, helpful, and accommodating which I enjoyed a lot, thank you ☺️The choices and drinks and knowledge to decide were ace as well. You can also pick nibbles and food bites as well. The atmosphere was friendly and also not too loud when full, which I feel is always a tick!Book in advance, I would recommend bar stools as they seem like the best seats 100%.In terms of getting there Warren Street or Great Portland Street are the best options, very short walk, and both stations have great connections too. Will be visiting again and looking forward to it.Solid A***** for this one LDT x

Andrea Asciamprener: What a place, what a wine list, and amazing food! One of my favourite items on the table is the bread basket, sooo lovely and the bread handmade even better! Wine? Top of the chart!

David Singh: Me and my wife came in from Washington, DC, and while the beer in this city is amazing .. nothing compares to this wine bar. The bar tender Xavier was amazing with giving recommendations on the food selections, the order of them being delivered, and then the WINE selections. This is an authentic place ... we were able to meet the owner Andrea, and seriously, what a treat. Meeting owners of restaurants mean they really are committed to the experience of those present. We had lamb chops, beets salad, olives, fresh baked bread, and amazing cheese. We will return without a doubt. This is a 💎 gem in the busy, rushing, and moving part of London.

Mike Guthrie: Had a great evening here - cosy establishment with a great vibe. The main reason for leaving the review is due to Xavier Sockeel… or as one reviewer put below me, the ”French-speaking barman”. Funny, knowledgeable and super at making wine accessible for everyone. Thanks again Xavier, will be back again!!!

rollmops nordic: Fantastic little wine bar, tasty menu and original wine list.Cosy atmosphere, warm welcoming staff really great at hosting and wine recommendations,We will be back!

Mark J Hartnett: Excellent option for celiac folks. Servers were very accommodating.Very deep wine list at a variety of prices. Would happily recommend for any wine lover, for both eclectic and classic palettes.

Faisal Karmali: Delish!

Maggie Rosen: If I lived closer to The Remedy, I'd be there every day: it's that kind of place. There's always something new and interesting on the wine list, and the staff are knowledgeable, unpretentious and enthusiastic. Whether you are there on your own or in a group, you can expect a warm welcome and will probably make new friends.

Anthony Trovato: We had had the pleasure of dining at The Remedy Wine Bar Shop & Kitchen, and it was a truly wonderful experience. The atmosphere was cozy and intimate, with warm lighting and comfortable seating. The wine list was extensive, and the owner was very knowledgeable and helpful in selecting the perfect wine to pair with our meals. Speaking of the meals, the food was absolutely delicious. We had the pleasure of trying several dishes, and each one was expertly prepared and bursting with flavor. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the service was top-notch.

Victoria: Lovely place. We went with our book club there. Only negative is that it was quite loud.

Luke Cavalli: Stunning little wine bar

L Wong: Excellent wine bar in intimate surroundings which transports one right to continental Europe. Food is fresh and house-made as it would be in France and Italy. Extensive wine list, albeit a little pricey but the wines are excellent and well worth it for something special. Service is exemplary: attentive, considerate, and friendly. Highly recommended.Wheelchair accessibility: Sadly, because of the compactness of the premises, one doesn't think that wheelchairs can wheel straight in. There are steps to negotiate at the entrance but if you can walk a few steps, that would work.

David Annez de Taboada: Hands down one of the most exciting wine bars in central London. The crew here are just fabulous and the wine list is just incredible. This is one my regulars in London and it's just such a great vibe. From their by the glass which is always a great selection to their cellar wines... You'll find something that will really hit the spot. I'd list everything I've tried there but there's too many to name. Ask them for advice on what you're looking for and they'll find something perfect. The food is then the icing on the top. Their dishes are really on point and I love how the menu changes quite a bit and it feels very much homemade.Don't miss this gem, it's just so so good. The photos are an astounding Zibibbo from Sicily and a cracking red from Tenerife.

Chloe Tate: , the king oyster mushrooms, and the fried sage with anchovies. The squid was fresh and perfectly cooked, tender and not at all rubbery. The king oysters were seared flawlessly and all of the dishes were well seasoned. The fried sage and anchovies were really delicious and interesting, I’ve never had anything like that before. I also had an amazing orange toscana wine. The focaccia was wonderful too. They have a rotating menu based on fresh sourcing so see what the friendly staff suggests. The host was so welcoming, and the music was great! The food was very well done and worth it.

Sorcha Crowe: Cannot recommend Remedy enough. We held a private event for Christmas drinks and Andrea and his team went above and beyond to ensure everyone was catered and cared for throughout the evening. Prior to the event Andrea curated a menu of food and a selection of wines for our guests which everyone raved about on the evening. This is the third year in a row our company has chosen to host our Christmas drinks at Remedy and the tradition will definitely continue based on our most recent experience!

Charlotte Johns: A lovely little spot! Delicious wine and a lovely selection to choose from. The food was delicious… small sharing plates and very yummy - particularly the porchetta! The staff were charming and super helpful.First visit and I will definitely come back.

Andrew Betts: Nice atmosphere. Good signatures, and lovey service. Couldn’t make me a brandy Alexander but came up with a credible substitute. Feel like its changed decor a bit since I last visited and a bit disappointed with the fake plants which cheapen the experience a bit. But overall still a great place.

Christina M: A hidden gem tucked away in the busy streets of China Town this speakeasy is a must to add to your London Trip list. Went there via a recommendation from a Londoner and loved every minute! Amazing service, very unique atmosphere, bartenders, cocktails and dumplings. Would make for a great date spot or girls night. Fabio the bartender is tremendously talented and helped with recommending the right drinks. Will definitely be back my next time to the UK!

Vee: . But it didn't feel snobby or off-putting inside. And the doorman was actually really cool. No attitude or airs at all. Cool dude.We decided to have one cocktail and head home

Mike Brennen: What a little gem of a place! My son lives just around the corner and we’ve have popped in twice for drinks and food in recent weeks. Wonderful welcoming atmosphere and friendly knowledgeable service. I think on both occasions I was served by the owner. Might try a cocktail and flatbread pizza myself next time. 😋 thank you for making some long journeys down to London bearable. 🙏Mike and Adam Brennen
