Abbey Wood Caravan and Motorhome Club Campsite: what do users think?

Shaun Plume: Caravan site for tourers has pods handy forWalkability: Handy for Elizabeth line to London plenty of local walks visit lesness abbey

Robert Meades: Fantastic parkRestrooms: Very clean and tidy with loverly hot waterDog-friendliness: Very dog friendly

Unfortunately once the blanket ULEZ zone is slammed down over the entire area in August.. I will no longer be able to afford to visit.

Allan Batcock: Lovely clean site, well layed out, and really accommodating to disabilities

Rosina Haylock: ,.. 🤣

Jnib: check out the number 3 bus route.

Hennie Wolfs: Ideal for visiting London.Nice, quiet campsite. Thanks for the nice stay 👍🏻

jessica burley: Quite nice but was next to the motorway/main road so it was loud at nightI would recommend for the summer but make sure you can drive to your camping area

Steve Spencer: Lovely out of the way place to stay. I have seen mention of noise from M25 that is pretty close, yes it's there but nothing too intrusiveRestrooms: Clean and tidy

Uwe Naujoks: Tiptop clean. beautiful large pitches for large mobile homes.Lies outside the Low Emission Zone. Very friendly staff.I would book again at any time.

David Bridgen: Easy to find, good facilities, very clean shower rooms/toilets. Staff were friendly and helpful. Personally, I didn’t experience any noise issues from the m25 as some others have mentioned in reviews. Would stay here again.

Enrico Engelhardt: Perfekt mit dem Womo um London zu erkunden. Öffentliche Verkehrsmittel direkt vor Ort. Personal sehr freundlich, Platz sehr sauber, Sportmöglichkeiten vorhanden

Peter Morgan: Very useful for going into London. Reasonable site prices. Close to cinema.Regular bus service just outside the campsite into Edmonton for trains into LondonWalkability: 35 minutes walk to the train station into Liverpool Street station

GeoFS Aviator: Nice place, service and location. Would go again!Walkability: Nice paths around the campsiteNoteworthy details: Bring a tin barbeque

Scott Hackwood: Toilets needed more attention but otherwise was a fab site, great location, and friendly staff.Nearby activities: Bus service stops practically on the campsite, only a short journey to the train station which will get you right in to London.Playground: Excellent facilities for kids.Dog-friendliness: Lots of space to walk dogs.

Little Miss Sparkle: Friendly staff, all facilities you would expect, you can hire a bike to go along the canal. Unfortunately is is about a mile to walk to the canal even though it’s right next to the site. The local area doesn’t have much to recommend it but it’s easy to get to central London and the site is pleasant to relax in.

Karen Casey: Location: 3/5

Sue Sadler: Used my own caravan so can’t comment on roomsLovely and peaceful, well kept, nice staffNearby activities: Great to be in walking distance if a railway in to London

Chris Sarnowski: and large clean pitches. However, the club that owns the site does not seem to be so used to accepting bookings from backpackers, and there was some confusion about what type of pitch we needed despite us specifying this in our booking. The couple at reception were extremely helpful in reaching an amicable solution, but the stress caused by the confusion could have been avoided if the campsite improved their systems.

Abz_90: The site is lovely size in a great location. Facilities are great and staff are so welcoming and helpful. Can’t wait to camp again!

Irene Forrester-carpenter: Lovely site & gem of a find.Beautiful grounds.Staff helpful.Clean & well kept.Only downfall...NO WIFI nor phone signal 🙈Tried to purchase on my phone, but as no signal, it doesn't let you complete.Unfortunately this would make me think twice before returning.Does not mean that the site deserves to drop a star though 👍

Patrick Markham: Perfect site. I was really surprised to find this place to be so quiet, rural-looking and surrounded by trees, yet still inside the perimeter of London's M25 moyorway.Lovely welcome and helpful staff. We were out of the way on pitch 161 which was perfect for our little family gathering.

Lee Valley Almost Wild Campsite: what do users think?

Survivalist Chick: . That September 2022, so maybe they've gotten a new lock since then. Also, I drove past it twice. It would be helpful is they had some sort of sign, with a symbol if they don't want to post the name.

hayley heather: Richard was so lovely and friendly. Really good campsite! Would recommend and would go again

J Raza (Flow Notes): This is one of the most beautiful sites we have stayed out of many other ones around Europe. The person on site on 02 Sep 2022, I think his name is Richard. Such an helpful person took care of anything before we needed it. Went above and beyond to look after people.Magnificently mantained in its wild nature, there is a river that floats by just next to your pitch if you choose river side. The forest pithces are also a green bliss. The fire place is fantastic. Tent pithches are huge. Toilets are great. Drinking water. There are plenty of cycling, walking, and baoting spaces arount the site.Around 15 mins walk from the Station.Just a gem!!

Erin: Please note anyone who would like to book that this is a slightly different campsite in the sense of the type of clientele it attracts. By that I mean because the pitches are so large and spacious that this means that it attracts large groups which equals a lot of drunk people making a lot of noise! On the night we stayed there were parties and music and general loud everything until the early hours of the morning. Having camped in Canada the focus of camping is usually to relax in the peace and quiet of nature. In England or at least at this campsite it is to go with a large group of friends and play music and party and get drunk until the early hours of the morning. Noted. And this is no reflection on the campsite itself which is absolutely beautiful in a stunning spot with the nicest ranger and the nicest pitches!!Also pitches are auto selected - this means some people get much nicer pitches than others- but overall all are nice.I should add this wasn’t a one off group having a party - there were at least 6 or 7 parties going on that night all very loud some with music. 11pm cut off quiet hours not observed in any way.

Rosaleen Duncan: Thank you Camp ranger Richard. Your hospitality was fantastic. Once he knew we we're celebrating my husband's birthday he went out of his way to give our group Marsmollows and sticks to roast for the birthday party. Thanks for your hard work and the upkeep of a beautiful campsite.

Richard Hill: Lovely place, huge pitch area, great fire pit with benches and by the river. Not big fish but my son had fun fishing canal side for tiddlers. Very peaceful and very well looked after for anything we needed and will definitely go again . Highly recommend and our fav campsite as enjoy the open fire. Toilets composting but kept very clean and a tap for drinking water and to wash up so don’t expect showers etc but enjoy the peace and tranquility

Erron McGuire: My dogs first camping experience...You must check in before hand to get the padlock code at the front gate.Once on site I was greeted by Richard who personally showed me to my pitch area, answered any questions I had about the area and made some good suggestions for local pubs.Throughout the evening Richard would take the time to check up on us and make sure we had everything we needed.I didn't find one bit of rubbish on site and toilets where clean. One fresh water tape in the middle of site.I would recommend this camp site on the customer service that I seem to struggle to find in England now a days and how clean it is even when it's an almost wild camp site.Thank you Richard.

Anika Sherborne: on both of the riverside pitches i booked - i spent 20mins on each, picking up the poo before i was comfortable enough to walk on it let alone put my things there! Its a bit of a shame having to be weary of where your foot lands when your trying to have a holiday! Would have given it 5 star otherwise - it is idyllic!

Adam E: Had an amazing weekend here. Riverside pitch is very spacious and you can take a look through a small walkway to the river. Ranger is very friendly and will help with whatever you need. Just a heads up that your camp can be seen by others so not completely wild. The woodland pitches look amazing too especially if you want a bit more privacy. Very keen to come again!

Adam Lovell: We took our Beavers and they stayed in a bus! For many of them it was their first time away from home. They had a great time. Being altogether in the bus was a good first step to camping with out them waking up cold and feeling alone. The staff are lovely and the site it well laid out.

Ah: Every camp there is an amazing experience. From the area to the people you will meet there it is all utterly brilliant. The owner is very nice and friendly and will try to help with any issues.

James Newman: Aging facilities, but a great site with lots to do. Hopefully they can modernise the most impacted areas and deliver a top notch scout camp site.

Minor Atabek: Great

naila salim: Great place for first time campers. Archery and Rifle Shooting ranges are well maintained. Staff are all welcoming, friendly and helpful 😊Special thanks to Cliff for organising a prayer space for me while I was over.

Kami Suc: Great, safe place for camp and activities!!!

Vik B: Great campsite

Tania Giles: Great fun campsite even in the rain, ladies toilets were messy, but usable. Lots of space for Cubs and scouts to explore. Will definitely come back.

Marie Dillon: Good clean facilities.

AM Ferg: Great location, fabulous walks all around , right next to the river , pubs near by , staff were welcoming, very helpful, wonderful atmosphere, facilities were brilliant, clean inside and out , I'd definitely be going back .Thank you

Ken Spencer: Lovely site next to the river Thames.VERY CLEAN AND TIDY!!Excellent showers and facilities.Friendly, helpful staff, particularly TRACY, thank you!

Chris Astley-Stone: From the moment we arrived at Chertsey Caravan and Camping Site, we felt right at home. The staff greeted us with genuine warmth and took the time to show us to our pitch, ensuring we had everything we needed. Their friendly demeanor set the tone for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. However, what truly impressed us was the site's proactive communication regarding the potential for flooding from the Thames. We were informed well in advance, kept updated on the situation, and provided with clear instructions on how to stay safe.Despite the potential for flooding, the campsite itself was beautifully maintained and offered a peaceful escape. The riverside location, provided stunning views and the facilities were modern clean and well-equipped, catering to all our needs.

JJ: All in all very nice campsite must be the nicest shower block out of all the caravan and camping clubs. We’ve been to staff were lovely very helpful. Bit of a problem with the rain but we were leaving when it came into a red alert not the end of the world some people were rather sad, but can’t blame the campsite when it rains. Thank you very much lovely time.

keely harper: Closed at the moment because of floodingLocation: 4/5 …

Anthony Difede: Nice site for the caravan people, clean and proper. NOT for the tent travellers . They will charge you the same rate as a caravan. They will charge you at backpacker rate but still higher. Go down the road to the community camp ground. Port a Johns and showers. Not sure if functional during off season. Do not join the camping and caravan club if you are bike touring , no discount and way over priced overpriced.

Estelle P: Location: 5/5

Neil Anstice: Rated 5* for ‘Rooms’ based on the facilities rather than my bedroom in the caravan. 😉The service facilities are top notch and certainly among the best I’ve seen from any campsite I’ve stayed.Only marked the location down a notch due to being under the flight path for Heathrow and lack of things going on nearby.

cheryl Fizzical-Fitness: Excellent and clean site. Happy, friendly staff, close to river Thames with lots of walking available and cycling routes along the towpath definitely worth a visit 😀
