Royal Liverpool University Hospital Emergency Department: what do users think?
Wendy Shipley: Chaotic, nobody knows what they’re doing, it’s freezing inside waiting as the doors do not close. Can hardly hear your name being shouted as there are 30+ people shuffled into one tiny room. Disgusting
Harvey Edwards: Receptionist at midnight. Is rude and does not make you feel welcomed. If possible go with private
Vitos MD: After 9,5 hours of waiting, I didn’t spoke with a doctor or even nurse, I think in UK they treat people only with paracetamol or ibuprofen, I asked for painkiller injection because I came with awful pain in my intestinal, they offer me paracetamol instead of it. When I told them that paracetamol doesn’t help me, they just ignored me. If u wanna die before u will get a help, u are welcome to this place!
dee cobley: My mother has been cared for efficiently and with great care. On arrival, she was quickly moved into a cubicle for triage and then into the AMAU ward.
kyle cubbin: Polite and respected u advise yo use this hospital and a&e fantastic team thank you the royal hospital for your service
PagAsa Ng Bayan: The receptionist on duty at night was busy on her mobile phone and she wasn’t happy that she was interrupted even though she finished her texting first before attending the patient. The triage nurse (day shift) in assessment room 1 was rude and lacks empathy. But the sister who was on duty at night was alright. The service in the morning seems faster as I reached AnE about 1015 and done by 3pm. However, my GP was surprised even I that I was sent home. So, he asked me to go back with a referral to medical ward admission. I reached AnE with the referral, seen the sister after 2.5 hours and advised me that the medical team will call me in a couple of hours.. that was around 1030pm and after almost 5 hours Im still sitting at AnE waiting… I find the service very disappointing and unacceptable.
Greg 'Wick' Sorfleet: 5 star. There are no flaws in the core function of The Royal. That includes vitals as assesment, available staff, facility, security. For visitor: details here laterFor patients: details here laterFinal review to come.
Roro aj sy: The ambulance department is very poor and needs to wait for more than ten hours. Oh my God, it is really a deadly wait
Mehow17plus1: Waited 7 hours just to be told that they didn't put me in the system's queue.Incompetence at the highest level.
Angela Wang: I had 3 clinic tonic seizures after 20 years when I had meningitis 3 times. The muse was trying to take my blood,I I raised my voice and asked her to stop to because she was hurting me she wanted to try for a third time so obviously wasn’t listening to me.I wasnt trying to be rude but when she tried again she said she would ask the consultant do it.His first comment was’you shouldn’t should not shout at my nurses. My veins are very poor duevto many operations ins and 3 noughts of meningitis in 2002 caused by shunt infections. He also said they patients with epilepsy all the.He knew I live alone and still wanted me to go home the same day.Ibhad to stay overnight because I’d lost something another nurse was rude a pointed outthst she’d organised ambulance for and now I’d have to stay at overnight.A person who lives alone with should not be sent home the same day.I did apologise to nurse who tried to take my blood and she well I accept yore apology. If this happens to someone else get a reltativebto stay over weekend and phone GP after weekend, you’ll get better care and probrsly be aked why you did not go to A ndE.
Wasteful G: A fairly poor emergency department, being one of, if not the largest emergency department for Liverpool there was a massive lack of blankets and the building was massively overcrowded, with some people being treated in the corridors. The automatic door was broken (and clearly had been for a while) so staff were required to push it open and closed.
John D McInally: Catalogue of (dangerous) errors from start to finish. I was shunted here from ultrasound after having been diagnosed with a femoral dvt. I was in agony. I waited 2 and a half hours to be seen by a triage nurse. I had watched ppl who had come in after me be seen for about 45 minutes. Curious about what was happening. I enquired at the desk and it transpired that they had not printed out my notes. Absolutely no effort at all was made to rectify this mistake and place me back in my position in the queue. When I finally got into the filthy waiting room, the same thing happened. People who had arrived after me were being seen and discharged, whilst I was sat in agony on a hard chair with CONFIRMED DVT. After 5.5 hours in a&e at 1am I asked how long I woud have to wait. They said only 5 people were in front of me and I would be seen soon. After another 3 hours watching an endless stream of people go in and leave, I asked again at 4am when I would be seen.A doctor picked up on this conversation and checked my notes and referred me to a clinic two days later.I had waited 8.5 hours in a&e for a referral to another clinic!!!! No treatment was necessary from the start. Ultrasound made the first error in sending me there in the first place. HOWEVER, a&e staff are just as much to blame for not picking up on this. I sat for 8.5 hours on a hard chair with femoral dvt- which would only have made things worse, and is potentially dangerous. They could have discharged me during triage. All in all, when something created to help people becomes potentially hazardous to the very people it intends to help, then the system is broken. Yes the NHS needs more money. But that is no excuse for the human incompetence at every level and quite frankly, the lies and fobbing off that I sadly experienced. Yrs, the staff are friendly and under intense pressure but one would expect a basic level of organisational competence. I would not recommend a visit to Liverpool A&e to anyone.
Sam Gauchi: GP told me to go to the Royal for an emergency brain scan and lumbar puncture. Waited for 4 hours with no triage whilst several people before me were called more than once. Then they called about 6 names with no response and it just seemed totally unorganised. Terrible terrible service, rather die at home.
Tara: 8 hours waiting time took bloods and ECG. Absolutely no update with anything and some people who where their longer than us had not been seen by the doctor either. The nurses were so nice and helpful.plus the womens toilets were so dirty. We have up on the end and left This was for my husband. The paramedics were so nice and helpful and funny
Amber Kendrick: Wait time in A&E was 8 hours, left everyone completely alone in the dirty waiting area, some really poorly people on their own in there and nobody was checked on all that time
daniel gezun: after 9 hours of waiting they did nothing at all with great back pain they gave me the usual paracetamol in a vein which did not work at all and in the end I gave up because waiting for something 9 hours tired and sore just not possible plus he was gol when Mr. immediately asked when he asked we will wait for a long time, he said he was aggressive and after that I told him to pick up my cannula that I had enough so he just looked around and he chose it well for me not in the hallway, so about that shake never in my life
stephen ghost: Excellent.Very professional staff.
zero cool uk: Trip to A&E after a rta.service was as you would expect it to be in liverpool.Treated with total respect in a professional manner. By polite and extremely pleasant staff all round. I cannot fault my experience in any way from my visit.
Owen Keeley: This hospital saved my life the staff or greatWorking under a lot of pressure. Well done royal Liverpool. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
AZD: Worst experience in my life, receptionist treated me like an enemy or worse!!!!!
I Shams: If you visiting emergency room in The Royal Liverpool University hospital . On emergency reception desk they ask you for your ID now. I've been going to the emergency eye clinic for 12years now. The guy on emergency reception desk first thing he asked me if i have ID on me luckily i had my provisional driving license with me. He looked at me asking for more proof of identification.I told him i have a British passport but not with me at the moment as i don't carry it with me all the time. Also asked me how long I've lived in UK for and asking me to read a hand written note..I told him i can read in Walsh as well if you want me to.I even called the Royal in morning to see if they were open no one mentioned about bringing identification..Please take your Identification ID as a proof.🌈Thank you to all NHS workers 🌈

St James Health Centre: what do users think?
Alice Gabriela: They should be renamed the st james practice of malpractice. They give you medication to make you more sick and refuse to send you to further investigations even if the problem you have had has occurred for 3 years. Never in 3 years of having a congestion, highly visible inflammation on my forehead in the sinus area, extreme fatigue that hasnt allowed me to function or work and kept me bed ridden up to 20 hours a day, never they have sent me to a ct scan or mri, same symptoms affecting the ears, sinuses and eyes every time, I came with the same symptoms yet the doctors would gaslight me and say they aren't related even if they would co occur and regress together along with the congestion everytime as the congestion was never treated properly.
Linob Mohan: My experience with this health centre has been nothing short of fantabulous. Dr. Lopez is a truly wonderful person and all the staff are good here. I appreciate the exceptional care and expertise provided when visiting this clinic.
Peter Kierman: I had a telephone consultation with the chemist from the practice. I asked her to ask the doctor for a prescription item. Never even had the decency to get back to me. No wonder people feel isolated from the NHS these days. It's doctor Google for me from now on.
Narrowboat Studios: I love this GP
Stephanie Littler: I saw Nurse Donna Price for my appointment this afternoon and cannot praise her highly enough! What is usually an uncomfortable and often painful test was quick and easy and genuinely left me a little speechless at how straightforward it went considering my previous experiences at other surgeries. Incredible lady!
Katie Ellwood: wasting my time. I made an econsult because my condition wasn't bad enough for an in person visit. Was emailed back saying to make an appointment so i assumed it was worse than i originally thought. I work nights so visiting can be difficult for me. So after a long nightshift i stay awake to ring at 8am and get an appointment for 8:45am. Once i make it there im told i dont need to be there as what i need is over the counter!!! Not only wasting my time but im also taking an appointment from someone who needed it more making me feel awful for wasting valuable nhs time!!!i recommend making sure your econsults are taken more seriously to stop this from happening again. The staff are always great and are not at fault but this experience really wasnt great.
Joseph Mccafferty: Outstanding well managed service, from making appointments to consultation, with Dr Kryaik,. Thank you
Maryam Afrasiabi: I saw Dr swift for my assessment. very professional, and I felt she genuinely cares as I was in such a distressing situation.I am grateful to the reception team who booked an appointment for me so quickly.I am truly grateful.Thank you so much
Ewelina Korzybska: I have booked a consultation online and doctor called me just a few hours later (I thought as they are very busy that it will take a few days). I was prescribed antibiotic and the doctor sent the prescription to the pharmacy near me. Very convenient and quick! Thank you!
Emejota San Telesforo Navarro: It is the best health centre in LiverpoolDr López has been great with usThanks
Adam: Supportive of transgender people.
William Edwards: Great GP 👍🏼
Catherine Browne: My father is 85 and has been with this surgery his entire life. I can not fault this surgery, during covid always could get an appointment, personalised care and great follow up. I have always managed to speak with a clinician even when I have called mid morning. The reception and admin team are friendly and helpfully. Nursing team show dedication and pharmacist is a real asset to the running of the surgery. This surgery shows the NHS at its very best.
Erin Boddie: Good care by the doctors but honestly I’ve never encountered such rude and unsympathetic reception staff. Every time I call I have extreme anxiety and I have to fight to talk to a doctor or get a prescription. Every little thing is too much for them. No one enjoys a trip/calling the doctors so it would be nice to be greeted with a friendly reception.
anthony lam: Saw Mrs Tracey Saphier for my assessment. She was cheerful, very helpful , friendly and gave me many advise and information. I am truly grateful and appreciate with her excellent help and service. Thank you so much Tracey both thumbs up 100% AAAAA.Best regardsDr A Lam
Riley Clarke: Best GP I've ever been with. Understanding doctors that prescribed me the medication that I needed, that have influenced my life for the better in every way! Thank you St James 3
Cal Han: Never had the best experience with this doctors. I have been registered with this doctors for many years and never needed to use their services much. However since recently needing a doctors note for work, it took 3 days for them to send it over, and many phone calls from myself asking why i still hadnt received the doctors note yet to provide to my employer. The receptionsist answering calls never seem to sound happy, and never seem to have any good customer service. Also my partner orders his perscription every couple of months for the past 2 years and it is always sent over the the pharmacy late, leaving my partner without tablets for days.I am currently in the process of searching for a new doctors as this one i have never had a pleasant experience with them.
chris flannery: Dr chatwin is very thorough and makes you feel very comfortable talking through your problems .the girls on the phone are friendly and very helpful
Victor Sirbu: Brilliant Service’s from my GP Dr. Nigel and receptionist as well 👍🏼
Darran Hyman: the worst gp surgery
Emma Dukes: I always had great experiences with the GP but one of the receptionists caused me to have a panic attack and cry by treating me so poorly when I went to collect blood test forms. I had been asked by my GP to go to the surgery to collect them and I waited for 20 minutes whilst the receptionist ignored me and was on her computer. Eventually, she shouted over and asked why I was there because I shouldn’t be there. I said you’re open, it’s 10am and the doctor called and told me to come in for blood forms. She told me the forms weren’t there - without looking. I said no I’ve just been asked to come in so she makes me go outside and wait and locks me out. She then opens the door a crack and pushes through the form with a completely different name on. When I tell her that’s not me she says yeah it is, as if I don’t know my own name? I have generalised anxiety disorder and find it hard enough going out - especially at this time with covid, I was prescribed beta blockers on top of my anti anxiety meds because I was so anxious. Finally she gave me the correct form after having a go at me and I’m stood there crying. They also sent me to another doctors for the blood tests, but when I got there I was told they stopped doing them 6 months ago so after all that I couldn’t even have the test. I’m not a confrontational person and I definitely didn’t break any rules going to the surgery. I’m super anxious so would not have gone unless I was told to and double checked that I was allowed to with covid rules. This was probably around May 2020. I have since left the practice as I was too afraid to go back after that so when I wasn’t well I would just avoid the doctors knowing I’d have to call the receptionists
