Baker St Cakes - The Macaron & Cake Boutique: what do users think?
Caitlin Reuthe: I visited Baker St Cakes this morning, June 18th, and Esmee was amazing, so welcoming and kind. Will definitely be making frequent trips in the future. The Pistachio Iced Latte was better than I could ever have imagined and the macarons are the best around
Tauheed Panna: The spiced chai was ordered in a take away cup but was served in a normal cup but was stone cold....another thing ordered was dessert which was suppose to be served with hot custard but again was cold and it didn't even taste like custard. Not good value at all for the service recieved.
James Spence: Popped in today to pick up a few cakes. The member of staff that greeted us was welcoming and kind, service with a smile! Great selection of tasty treats, thank you.
Nik Komo: We booked Baker St cakes for our sons First Birthday and Christening party. The cake and service we received were amazing and we had so many compliments for the cake, how it looked and how it tasted! We dealt with Nailah and her communication and understanding of what we wanted was brilliant. Would highly recommend and we will be using them again.
Jawahir Mohamoud: Amazing cupcakes and croissants - you can tell they’re made with love. Definitely coming back to try some more things!
Sheeny Kler: Had afternoon tea here couple of wks ago. It was the worst ever! ( this was the Leicester branch)Very stale extremely thick doorstep clumps of bread with hardly any filling & about 2 pieces per person. The bread was Sooo thick & stale we were told it was ‘Japanese bread “The cakes on display look great we didn’t get any of these for the afternoon tea we had tiny cakes no fresh cream or fruit & a few tiny macaroons.Sandwiches & cakes were awful, all squashed on tiny tables & we had to stand up to move chairs out of the way every time a customer came in through the front door.& the staff disappeared into the kitchen most of the time so unable to ask for anything. It was £20 pp so also a rip off for what we got. Not to mention the lump of gravel found in one of the cakes !
Parul Patel: Really lovely place. Very clean and comfortable. Staff are very friendly and attentive. Food is very nice. Would recomend afternoon tea
Z: Highly impressed with the delicious treats and beautiful packaging. Awesome customer service too :)
Ka wing: A bit pricey now, still good quality and it’s nice to have it once in a while.
Hanif Patel: Collected vanilla milk cake and jam and coconut slices today. Not the usual standard of packaging and milk cake was broken. 2 star as the macarons were the same as usual. Please use the original packaging.
Katie Sanderson: 📍 @bakerstcakes passed through Leicester on our UK trip to pick up some of the cakes from here. The salted caramel tart and white chocolate and pistachio cake were both phenomenal. Well worth the slight detour!
Hafiza Noor: Booked for afternoon tea yesterday as an early Mother’s Day treat for my mum and Aunty. Was worried the snow may alter plans, but Nailah ensured our booking went ahead.Esme looked after us on the day and honestly went above and beyond. The tea was delicious and the variety was just perfect! Thank you so much. I will not hesitate to book again.
Iqbal Patel: Ordered a 8 inch birthday cake for my 15 year old daughter. 10/10 for service, meeting expectations and taste. Cake was nice and fresh and the flavour of raspberry ripple and white chocolate was on point. The cake looked good and tasted amazing. Defo value for money and defo recommend. Will defo order again.
Harshna C: Bought the rose & pistachio signature cake in January for a birthday. Although the cake looked amazing, the taste was disappointing- we could not taste the pistachio flavour!
OxfordMum: I have ordered the salty nutty and Victoria from Baker St in various exquisite designs. Never let down by Baker St Cakes. Owners who liaised with me were pleasant and went the extra mile. Not sure why there are some negative reviews being posted? Haters are going to hate, don’t let them grind you down. Macarons, patisserie and cupcakes are all delicious. Would recommend both the shop and bespoke cake design. Wish you would open a branch in Oxford (Headington). It is only 90 minutes from Leicester. Your would do well here as there is a gap in the market for a shop like Baker St Cakes.
Millie O'flynn: Terrible service, rude,
Zulekha Takoliya: Delicious assortment of cakes and patisseries. Flavours are true to their origins.Their Christmas afternoon tea patisseries were 5*. The santa hat, the mint and caramel cake and tarts were mouthwatering.Their macarons are light with the perfect crunch and taste.Disappointments I have experienced are the sandwiches in the afternoon tea. They were very simple. With this being a halal cafe, I would hope for more than one mini chicken/meat sandwich.I haven't tried their speciality hot drinks (lattes and coffees) but my friend hasn't been keen on the ones she has had though they look very pretty. The atmosphere is warm. The English lady with a headscarf is extremely friendly and always smiling, very welcoming whenever I go inside.
Gihani Abey: Worst customer services experience/ worst cake/ Don’t waste your money!Ordered a cake from this establishment as I been to this establishment several times and it was always been extremely positive. Delightful cup cakes etc.Decided to order a cake for my daughters birthday in the most roundabout way with emails back and forth. The day of the collection, went to pick it up from fist impressions cake looked amazing however there was a hair in the box. Totally put me off (the staff was extremely apologetic gave me cupcakes and macarons to make up for it. Which I thought was a nice gesture. Had it not been for the urgency of the party I wouldn’t have take the cake with me.While, cutting the cake at the party the icing of the cake was stodgy almost artificial in texture and taste. The sponge was flavourless. Very disappointing. Nothing like the cup cakes I have had at the store. Only the outer shell of the cake was elegant. That was all there is to it.Emailed Nailah for a compensation or something for the disappointment I have endured. Received a very cut and dry response. Frankly, the worst response I have ever had saying there’s nothing they could have done as the staff offered a couple of cupcakes and 3 macarons that was the compensation that I’m to receive. If I’m to order again they could offer some discounts! It’s an absolute joke! Never again will I ever go to this ridiculous shop, waste my money or order any cakes again!
Nadia Ahamed: We came for afternoon tea a week ago and had a great experience! We were served attentively by Esme who took our orders being super polite and friendly (and she kept checking we were okay)! She really made afternoon tea an experience for us.
Wendy Clements: Baker St Cakes made an absolutely amazing cake for my mother's 90th birthday, delivered on the day. Absolutely delicious. All delighted, thank you!
Ann Mama: Honestly deserve 5 stars and even more. Everything was spot on, the service (lovely), the deco and of course the patisseries! Tasted just like in Paris m.a

Looqma: what do users think?
VKM Homes: Too sweet...4 Baklavas costs £4... Steep price for very average sweets
muhammed ISIKGUN: It was really good Kunafa I have eated in the UK
ReviewMaster9000: Its ok, need more variety
Zhika Ahmed: My favourite turkish caffe What a beautiful decor clean and polite lovely friendly staff I brought loqma atom omg 😲 was amazing never I no have delicious dessert like that also a slice of tralice I think was the nameOh taste was like heaven definitely will be back soon
Chandesh Reddy: I recently tried kanafeh in looqma. It became my go to desert place.
Tarek Kotb: احلي كنافة
Kemz: I think this place has the best desserts in town, great portions and served very well. I can’t go without mentioning how authentic their Turkish breakfast is which I believe they have recently started and wow. Definitely be back and recommend to anyone who asks
A.Z: Very beautiful, excellent services, I recommend a visit.
Zainul Khalifa: The best baklava iv had in my life!
Hamza Khalifa: Best baklava I’ve ever had in England so far.
Muneer Bachu: Really good dessert. The only thing I would have to put down is the coffee, which needs improving. Other than that really good and highly recommend.
RBS Birds: One of the best Kanuffe I have tried so far very kind staff present me the turkish tea while i was waiting for my order.
Bader Alajmi: The best konafa and sweets 😍
Phoebe Skarlatos: Always amazing whenever we go, great food and drinks and lovely atmosphere. Staff are so kind and helpful. Great little find
Hassan Nassar: I ordered a takeaway and it was a huge mistake. The kunafa had only a small bit of cheese in it; definitely below standard for anyone who tasted proper kunafa before. You will get more tasty frozen kunafa from any continental food store for half the price. The looqmas were terrible, very oily and the dough texture had nothing to do with looqma. And we just had a box of plain looqma, no pistachios! The name is false advertising apparently. Not worth a penny.
Radu Dascalescu: Absolutely stunning kunefe!!!I love this place for the peaceful atmosphere and great turkish sweets! I really recommend with all my heart ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
Vikrant Kumbhar: One of the best places for Turkish deserts in leicester
Sameer Quazi: Food arrived cold and was a bit messy but it was alright.it tasted okay but probably would be better in the store. Owner responded to my comment but i don’t know how to respond .I had looqma which at arrival had a bad oil taste to them and like the chocolate had got a little cold
Andrew Hill: By far the best place in Leicester for dessert right now. I drive from Rushey Mead to Narborough Road solely to visit the shop. Staff are friendly tooThat was a year ago. This place is going downhill fast. One member of staff today was smoking right outside the doorway drinking a coffee or tea out of a glass, he passed them both to his friend whilst he dealt with a delivery person and I was waiting to be served, he then left to finish his cigarette and social before serving me. I just left. Possibly a one off but I don't think I will go back for a while. Very disappointing to see it go downhill like this as they were very good. Especially smoking outside of the door, it was very off putting.
Zak Khan: The Katmer is delicious
Anjali Kaswankar: We ordered a home delivery, parcel arrived on time. Tasted the kunefe, looqma and waffle. Loved the Kunefe nice, fresh and crispy. Did not like the Looqma as they are fried and tasted of awful oil smell. The waffle was underdone. Will not be ordering again, one time try...
