Talk About Talk is an evidenced, targeted intervention for students aged 14 to 18 with communication difficulties, helping them to develop the communication skills they need for the workplace.


A targeted and evidence-based intervention, which supports children in Reception and KS1 to make significant progress with their language and communication skills.

Research shows that on average children make 6 months progress after taking part in a nine week Early Talk Boost intervention.

Our partnership of schools work closely together to develop a high quality service that best supports the need of our Schools. We have an effective working relationship with Leicestershire County Council and deliver a range of wellbeing support for schools which includes working with families and staff teams to support with training.

Using applied psychology, we adopt proactive/preventative, systemic and targeted approaches in consultation with schools to identify and assess areas of emotional health and well-being where educational psychology support can make a positive difference. We aim to build capacity in school communities by helping the members to understand complexity and plan interventions with clarity in order to nurture children’s well-being and learning. To make sure all systems and communications with stakeholders are clear so that the EP service/provision is transparent and schools feel supported.

Our service provides high need support for children and families but also aims to develop an effective wellbeing provision to support families, safeguard children’s mental health and offer training for all people working with our children. We currently offer:

How did that happen? I have now been self employed for fifty years and for those of you who don’t know, this is how I did it. After leaving drama school in 1971 I got married and settled into life in Leicestershire. My husband was travelling for work as a musician, so I put an advert in the local paper for youngsters needing acting and confidence building. I rented rooms at my local church and within a couple of years I had 100 students doing classes on a Saturday or private lessons after school. I entered them for exams and local competitive festivals and took exams myself to build my skills further.
