Photography Courses with Award Winning Leicester Mercury Press Photographer & College Tutor - Glen Tillyard.
Our jargon-free courses are limited to six students and will suit everyone from the complete novice to the intermediate photographer. Training takes place in the picturesque village of Smeeton Westerby in beautiful rural Leicestershire and run from 9-30am to 5pm. They are suitable for Digital SLRs, Mirrorless EVF Cameras and Bridge or Hybrid Cameras.
As a professional press photographer, I have to get the best picture, in the shortest possible time, every time and this is what I will teach you on each of our 20 plus courses. As a college tutor, I know that every student has a different learning style so our courses cater for every learning type.
Having now done several courses with Glen. I would highly recommend all his courses from beginners to the more advanced ones, they are all excellent and are taught at a pace that suits everyone. Glen is so knowledgeable with every course well-structured and interactive in an easy informal way.
I attended the beginners course yesterday and had a brilliant time. Glen is an excellent teacher I was impressed with his easy manner in putting across the salient points. The practical session in a lovely setting reinforced this learning and I was bitten. Without a doubt a first class course which I recommend to anyone you will be impressed. Whenever I see a friend or colleague using their expensive digital camera in auto mode I recommend Glen to them. In the space of the day I went from thinking I knew how to use my camera to really understanding the techniques behind getting some great shots. Small group sizes mean Glen has time to spend on you, a lovely location great for taking pictures and the satisfaction that you're really using your camera to the best of it's and your abilities. Would not hesitate to recommend Glen and DPC.
Had a fantastic weekend learning beginner and portrait photography with Glen. He is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about all aspects of photography. He is also able to explain techniques and camera settings in very simple and memorable terms so at the end of the day you are producing professional looking photographs yourself. I really hope to do more courses with Glen in future. All other students on the portrait course were returning students that had done previous courses with Glen!

Highly recommended. Glen's skill and experience is obvious and his passion is infectious. We went to learn product photography for work. I arrived with no interest in photography beyond the need to learn for work, and left with enthusiasm to continue learning. The course was exactly what we were looking for and had been tailored to our needs. We learned everything we needed to know and more. The teaching was delivered excellently and was paced well. The course was engaging and very enjoyable. We travelled from Devon to attend and plan to go back at some point in the future. It was well worth the trip.

The Headless Chef: I've recently had 1 to 1 photography course with Andy. Before I have booked this course, I have reserached the courses online and contacted few photographers. Andy responded to my emails very quickly, advised me which camera to buy and provided lots of advice prior to the course. I am completely new to photography so I needed a guidelines from the professional and Andy provided that. During the 1 day course I have learnt a lot. Andy's teaching skills are amazing, he kept the course very interesting throughout. I would definitally use the skills I have learnt on my YouTube channel so watch out for that. Mark Williams: Awesome, excellent and amazing. We cannot talk highly enough of this couple of photographers. They are a lovely couple, very friendly and put everyone at ease ..... we have had so many guests tell us how good the photographers were. They go out of their way to ensure your day is extremely special, capturing all those amazing moments. What really does make these photographers different is that Andrew takes the main, usual wedding photo's, and Davina takes the candid shots. We ended up with a fantastic mix of styles and some real nice surprises. When we received the album, we were expecting it to be good, but it was absolutely beautiful. The album is the best looking album we have seen, the photos inside were something very special, we can't stop looking through it. We had a choice of so many photographers for our day, and we chose these. We chose so right, we could have paid a lot more and we saw some nice, but expensive photographers at wedding fayre's. Don't pay any extra because you will not get better.

He made the whole process from booking to finished product so seamless and smooth.I was especially impressed with the speed in which the finished product was delivered after the wedding!!!The highlight and video is absolutely beautiful.I would certainly recommend him.

He showed energy even with the early morning start and made sure to put us as his priority for the whole day.After the wedding he was quick to contact us to finalise a day to receive the photos. It was to our surprise the fact we would each get a photobox and the quality of the photos were outstanding. Joel Juvvanapudi: It was a brilliant experience getting our first family phootshoot done by J Nandha Photo & Cinematography. When I initially contacted Jay, he was very professional and explained everything in detail about the photoshoot. It was very easy to make the booking and nearer to the day of phootoshoot, I received an email explaining everything that will happen on the day. On the day of the photoshoot, Jay and his wife made us feel very comfortable. A great job was done for the most important part 'capturing the pictures' with our little one. Lots of great quality pictures were captured and was immediately able to review them and select our favourite ones. Within a week, the selected pictures were edited and sent to us and also the Canvas. Overall amazing experience and I totally recommend J Nandha Photo & Cinematography.
Bhavesh Prajapati: We had our special day in September 2021. Jay was personally recommended by a friend of ours. We decided that we wanted both photos and videography for our wedding. The service is end to end meaning Jay talks through your itinerary at the outset and makes suggestions on timings and certain photos. We had a video consultation with Jay who answered all our questions thoroughly. So, his experience was invaluable. He was very transparent about pricing and what you can expect. He is willing not to recommend additional services if they are not going to be of any benefit. On the day, Jay and his team were so easy to work with and they worked well with family and friends to get natural shots of guests enjoying the wedding. He came to the venue early to take set up and staged shots. When the bridal and groom party arrived his team knew the types of images that would look good. He was willing to take our photo list and take family pictures. A nice touch was when our pictures and video was ready. We were invited to come into Jay’s studio and have a “movie day” where we sat through the edited video and made whatever changes we wanted. Then when all was done, we have been given the edited and unedited images and footage for us to go ahead and make an album at our convenience. Would definitely recommend Jay for wedding photography and videography.
