bd: Some staff ignore the patients. bored and miserable, I'm something attitude. They do things because they have to. Unpleasant atmosphere.
Neethu Raphy: Good hospitality
Mew Moon: Please don’t go to ward 31.I had a surgical hysterectomy in sept 2022, I was woken up with immense pain and was given pain relief. During my first night I was given a morphine drip and was periodically checked by various staff but was told off by the chief nurse for using too much. I felt belittled by her comments and was emotionally upset, there was no empathy and I have just gone through a drastic change. After my administrated morphine drip was removed, trying to get painkillers was like getting blood from a stone. I asked numerous time to various nurses and literally had to beg one of the staff to give me something for the pain, explaining to her I have literally just been cut open. I was given medication and during that time I was grateful ….. I was prescribed omeprazole …… ( I have a picture to prove it) needless to say it didn’t help with any relief.I am appalled that the other two patients was experiencing the same complications and we all had to ask family members to sneak painkillers in.During the night, another patient in a different room rang the alarm bell. This went on for over 10mins, there was no sense of urgency and you can hear the night staff chatting in their communal area.I am able bodied and I was told by one of the night staff that they wouldn’t help me to walk over to use the bathroom and had to relieve myself inside the cubicle behind drawn curtains. I felt degraded and when I questioned this with the doctor in the morning he was confused why I wasn’t allowed to use the public toilet.Only the day of departure I was given a survey and the chief nurse from earlier was being very pleasant and showing me pictures of her cats on her phone. I felt this was all pretence and left it blank. It’s a shame as there was three junior staff who was very compassionate and helpful. Especially the one who was with me as I waited for surgery and she even made me tea. I am sorry I can’t remember your names to recommend.Overall the experience has left me traumatised, it’s taken me a long time to write a review. I wouldn’t recommend anyone going to this hospital or this ward if you can help it.
Othniel Fundira: I have always found the hospital’s medical care exemplary. My issue concerns the parking. I paid £2.90 for 2 hours. If the income from parking charges is well used, I have no objection….but why persist in demanding such an inconvenient amount? I presume the majority of visitors insert £3 and you benefit from keeping the change, but please consider charging multiples of £1 and, if necessary, adjusting the time appropriately. Think about it….which is more helpful to everyone, £2.90 for 2 hours or £3.00 for 2 hours 10 minutes, say?
Fardin Mahmoudi: I never recommend them stafe is very very rude and disrespectful after 10 hours waiting for doctor to come and the say don’t come today and parking problem to
Richard Butler: I went for a day case procedure, on 20/04/23. Processed in quickly by arrival ward. Friendly anesthetist and surgeon. Recover/discharge ward brilliant.
doreen guglielmucci: my husband was a patient there he was in december with a infection walking with a stick and mild dementia .he was discharged incontinent with a pressure sore and immobile.during his stay he lost a stone in weight.i also witnessed other patients in his bay calling for nurses and ignored not good
Chet Chef: Staff in department are lovely ,really tried to make you at ease, explaining everything,The reason I havnt given 5 stars is because the telephone system is horrendous,i tried twice to get through as had been given 2 different appointment times ,once for 1hr 10 mins and second time 1hr 30 mins and didn’t get to speak to anybody, this isn’t good practice and needs sorting ! But this is nothing to do with the lovely staff in endoscopy x
Adam Dalton: Car park machine doesn't accept card, enjoy running around and getting some cash out of the cash machine then running to cashier's to get change because the change machine is broken.
MyLifeAsJess: Pick up the phone it would be helpful
adina cauchie: Had surgery done recently at the Leicester General and was admitted to ward 2 then moved to ward 20. I must say a special thanks to all the staff who were so professional and friendly, nothing was too much for them to deliver their prompt assistance. Special thanks to Tracey, Sheena and Bill on the night shift just to name a few, well done and thanks again.
Abby White: Giving this a 5 star solely based on my my elective c section I had on the 23rd February 22. The team I had were absolutely amazing. The whole theatre experience was calm and I felt safe and looked after.
Giarn Kaur: I had an appointment for Ward 11 on the 17th February at 2.00 pm. The receptionist/nurses/consultant showed so much empathy and compassion. Their kindness and words of support made the procedure of my hysteroscopy so much more manageable. Thank you all so much for being so professional and for going the extra mile. I really appreciated it. 💕
Geo Cristea Ciobotaru: Sunt foarte mulțumit de modul cum sunt tratați pacienții din cauza ca e mare ca întindere am găsit puțin mai greu locația dar e bine sunt foarte mulțumit
Angela Snodin: My husband Andrew was admitted to day case for hernia surgery, he said the surgeon Dr Sangal and staff were amazing throughout. A male nurse Colin he thought was very committed to his job after his op, he was very friendly, a joy for anyone after surgery.
Tracey Weaver: Very efficient service.
Gillian Brown: It's a hospital
Abbie Moore: I recently had a complex knee surgery and was told before having it that I would be an inpatient for a few days due to the length of the surgery and the healing afterwards. When on the ward, a nurse told me that they didn’t have a bed for me so they moved my op to the first slot so that I could go home on the same day. After the surgery I was promptly discharged and left with a prescription of 1 codeine and 2 paracetamol every for hours. I have never been in more pain in my life. I was unable to move or get out of bed by myself due to the severity of the pain, and ended up calling the hospital to ask if I could have any stronger pain medication. Unfortunately, because I am 17, they were unable to send me home with any stronger medication. It was a real shame that they didn’t try at all to find a bed for me in order to receive a manageable amount of pain medication. However, my Dr and the nurses that looked after me were exceptional and are a credit to the NHS, and my actual surgery was performed perfectly and I can now use my leg properly thanks to my surgeon.
Sue Evans: On Tuesday the 17th of January my husband went to the above hospital to have an endoscopy,I must say the nurses and staff were so helpful and considerate. He has early Alzheimer’s and his sence of direction is nil ,they went above and beyond to make him feel okTHANK YOU …
H1MGD: Anyone under the care of Dr Guy Faust or Jo Wortley in Oncology particularly for Prostate Cancer I would seriously recommend they find someone else. The care and attention is way below standard. Jo Wortley a cold heartless person and Dr Guy Faust will belittle you and pass on incorrect information to your GP. Just Avoid if you have a sense of self worth.
Pat Kime: Treatment was very good more or less on time, but travelling there was was awful, hospital is very much out of the way glad I didn't have to go by bus

Dread Roberts: A&E is shockingly filthy.. dried blood on the waiting room chairs, up the walls in the toilets and when you get into a consultation room there's more dried blood on the chairs. Huge pool of Vomit on the waiting room floor just left. Infection control non existent They really need cleaners! I sat ten hours and didn't see one in A&E.No indication at all of waiting times or next steps provided, as the old numbered allocation screens have gone.... so you daren't go to the canteen to get a drink or go toilet, incase you are missed... and sitting 10 hours without a drink is no joke. Water machine without cups... coffee machine and soda machine out of order. The staff call out patients names in such an unintelligible quiet speedy murmour and then dash off quickly, it is almost as if they want people to be missed. I watched a huge amount of missed patients. I'm not sure how this is managed....but they don't seem to get called again , at least not for the hours I was sitting there... When I was sent to X-ray, they told me they had sent the request through two hours previous but no one had told me.Having said that, I did get checked over
Galina Lukmanova: 👍
GK T: Once the reception knew that I was having chest pain, the examination process was expedited. From ECG , blood pressure test and blood test. The nurses carried out efficiently and professionally. I was told to wait after the blood test. After almost 4 hours, I am still waiting. It is understood that there is a shortage of staff and long queue, but it will be good to let us know the estimation of waiting time to mind set us.Doctor Ibrahim saw me after ~6 hours. He is very friendly and thorough with his examinations. Although the indicators show that I am unlikely to have a heart attack, he ordered X-ray, another ECG and blood pressure check for me. Even the 2nd round of checks are negative, he gave me medicines and asked me to stay in A&E for another hour for observation. The 2nd time I saw him is after 10 hours and he was still on duty! His after care report for me is also very clear and detailed.Dr Ibrahim's dedicated and thorough examinations make the 11 hour stay in the A&E worthwhile.PS: There is a very large nice TV at the waiting area. The people at waiting area were bombarded by the REPEATED advertisements in the advertisement channel for at least 4 hours before it was changed to animal channel. It will be good to have channels more entertaining so as to help to make the long wait easier.
Miranda Priestley: Absolutely fantastic kind doctors and nurses. Thank you so much for your help, care and attention. I really appreciate the care you gave me in A&E and how much better you made me feel with your knowledge, treatment and swift efforts during the nighttime. I’m on the mend now and feeling very appreciative to you all. thank you :)
OldLien1: I hadn’t been near the place for years, had to take my wife to the A&E, well, let’s just say last time I came. It was like a third world country war zone. However, now completely different fabulous new building and extremely kind and helpful staff, they even had the courtesy to observe people that were struggling to use the coffee machine and help them by the way that’s free. Now it’s still took hours and hours to be finally given a bed as she was admitted, but in between she was assessed very quickly and constantly monitored on a regular basis.Which is exactly what you would hope for.So to conclude a awful lot better than it used to be. In fact I would say excellent staff excellent attitude under extreme circumstances. Well done Leicester, Royal infirmary
Daniel: The admin team for ophthalmology should all be removed and replaced. They are an embarrassment to the hospital and the NHS. I had a referral appointment but they failed to send me the appointment information in the post! When I queried it they said I had to go back to the GP to get a new referral, which I did. Then I rang up today to check on that and the administrator said I didn't need to do that and they could have just booked me a new appointment at the time. I can assure you the person who took my call at the time was NOT going to do that. I am not surprised there are so many disclaimers about not tolerating abuse - they deserve it. If you have eye issues I would suggest going to a different hospital as these clowns are just making it up. They deserve no credit for the work they do and like I said they should be replaced.
Julie Taylor: Helpful staff, clean surroundings, and not much of a wait on Sunday.
Eva Sienna: Waited 5 hours and in massive pain nobody in the waiting room have been given no pain medication however when I was seen they did good tests and were very kind and helpful
George Pollard: Was looked after very well overnight. Great staff
Jed Jeddies: Was admitted to SAU ward 16 all staff were so friendly especially staff nurse on the night shift so very sweet and caring after op was transferred to ward 21 my goodness this ward is run with a calm serenity it’s like a truly well oiled machine all the staff are warm caring especially the HCA’s your all do such a great job heartfelt thanks
Pat Taylor: Car parking is horrendous, half the car park is a building site. It's a nightmare.
Gaye Lancaster: I had cataract surgery 15 May. All staff were so thoughtful and caring and good natured and kind - I can’t thank you enough for the treatment all round. Aftercare great.
Aileen White: I have just spent 24 hours in A&E Red Majors. Nothing was too much trouble. I was treated with kindness, compassion and dignity by everyone. Special thanks to Dr Jenny Worrall.Whatever the problems are with the NHS, it certainly is not the wonderful staff on 'the shop floor'Thank you all.
Tahera Alibhai: Was sent to a senior consultant named Dr. Manjiri Kharre to have my anomaly scan during my 22nd week of pregnancy. Showed no professionalism at all - asked for a cup of tea during the scan, measured all the organs wrongly as she kept mentioning she was tired of sitting in one place and pressed my tummy too hard to get the baby to move. She went the extra mile to mention that my baby could have several diseases and issues and abnormalities without identifying any problem in the scan. I praise just the Lord that none of these were true and I would urge all mothers to be careful when they're told they'd be seeing her for the detailed scan (you'll end up having the rest of your pregnancy in a state of anxiety, tears, pain (out of hard wriggling - I recovered three days post this happening) and worry. Also the staff at the NHS maternity care are really really rude. Asked to have the address changed and one of the ladies made a voice to show how irked she was at having to change our home address. We were also seen after one hour twice, simply because they misplaced our documents.God forbid I ever come to this place again! Gave birth in a different country and they handled the situation very very professionally.
namahn hussain: The nhs is finished why is when a woman gives birth they have so many silly procedures about family visiting this is absolute rubbish private health care will most likely have to be a only option as this is rubbish you have silly wait times you have no manners I do not advise anyone to come here to give birth
Aaron: Went to this hospital with chest pain and health care assistants, nurses, doctors were all so calming and reassuring. They did thorough checks, ECG, bloods, chest X-ray and physical examination to rule out anything serious and put me at ease. Yes wait times can be long and Hospitals are seeing an increasing amount of patients and less doctors, but that’s not the staffs fault!
Balamurali Sivasubramaniam: I appointed by emergency servicesand waited ,after 12 hours waiting they say you have been discharged.I was waiting to seen by doctor. They say called me over the phone.but i didn’t receive any call. What a worst hospital.
Susan Weedon: OMG don't ever go there the staff are terrible they don't know what they are doing and really don't care. I would advise you find an alternative. You can't post if you don't put at least 1 star. Personally I would close it down
