Gelato Village is the product of the passion for food held in the hearts of two Italians. We create a food experience like no other you have had before. Daniele and Antonio are natives of the Piedmont region of Italy which is the birthplace of the Slow Food Movement. Opening Gelato Village in the heart of independent Leicester in August 2014, they are committed to creating true Italian gelato with a unique sense of place. You cannot find this level of quality anywhere else in our region.
The cornerstone of our gelateria is our milk. From Vine Farm Dairy, this milk is pasteurised, unhomogenised whole milk, from the herd of happy Montbéliarde, Jersey and Holstein cows who graze the grass pastures in Great Dalby, Leicestershire. This is delivered fresh to the gelateria, and you can even pick it up by the litre to enjoy at home.
We believe it is important for everyone to support their local food producers. One of the fantastic businesses we support is The Bee Farmer from Ashby-de-la-Zouch. Without this Leicestershire inspiration, we simply wouldn’t be Gelato Village any more. Our sense of place is also reflected in stock recipes like Alice Hawkins (lavender and white chocolate) and Richard III (fruits of the forest with homemade rose blossom essence) which give a nod to Leicester’s heritage.
As our tagline goes, there is much more to Gelato Village than just delicious minus twelve degree treats! We like to offer you delicious foods that you will not find anywhere else. We were the first venue in Leicester to serve a traditional affogato. We also make waffles from scratch to our own recipe.

Ismail Jogi: Popped in today for the first time. The decor is clean and bright with many nice personal touches.We ordered the 'Bombay Bicycle', a milkshake and a Rose and Pistachio drink. All the food was fantastic!The 'Bombay Bicycle' was a delicious vegetarian, gluten free option, and the drinks were both great.Definitely recommend this place and its menu instead of the many other generic and more expensive dessert parlours in the city.

Aaditya Joshi: Popped in because the music sounded amazing. Really good service along with a sweet and short menu. Had the waffles with buttermilk chicken and it tasted amazeballs. They also had board games for us to try while we wait for our food and drinks.

Jenna Puszyk: There were only two tables in when we arrived with one having an order taken. However we weren't acknowledged at all & when I asked 10 minutes after sitting if anyone was serving still, the young guy on the grille just shrugged & said they were busy. I asked if we should just go as my 4 Yr old son was hungry & he went & checked & said it would be another 30 minute wait for food. They're clearly doing a great trade online so if you're ordering a delivery I'm sure it's tasty but the in cafe experience is pretty dismal.

Audrey Jones: After a meal, we thought we would give this place a try and it was definitely worth our time and money. To begin with, the atmosphere is sublime with nice decor and amazing music in the background. The waffles we scrounged were delightful and mouth watering. Also I think she might be a mind reader as we were gasping for water after the waffles and like the second coming of Christ she arrived .

Everyone else enjoyed there food a great deal.When dining out, even for deserts the food, the taste is just part of the experience.The staff were missed between friendly and indifferent. Before when you would arrive, you'd be greeted, handed a set of menu's and walked to a table. This time; however, "sit anywhere" was the greeting.The think that upset me the most to see slip was the cleanliness. Uncleared tables despite there being at least 4 different staff on. Menu's scattered about. Behind the counter was not 'Dirty' but could have used a wipe down during quite periods. For example, the waffle and pancake machines had batter drenching the area they occupied. When the visible areas are a bit flaky with the cleanliness, for me I must question what's going on where I cannot see.They only accept cash; I find that very questionable.Sadly, I won't be in a rush to go back.

ASY Grande: Bought the Johnny Montana burger. Should be cheese filled burger with turkey rashers. When eaten just some liquid poured out and burnt around the centre of the burger. Turkey rashers was like eating tough leather. Was not nice, threw it in the bin.

Miss Panda: I love Baskin Robbins and I'm a regular. So much so that the guy that works there knows what I usually get. I only took 2 stars off because the opening times are ridiculous and make no sense at all. Especially in the summer, you'd think they'd be open a lot earlier than 18:30.
