Fire & Stars Woodland Camping: what do users think?
Laura Dunlop: Absolutely incredible place. Unbelievably relaxing, so much we stayed an extra night. The owners are so friendly and helpful, if you are looking to go somewhere to unwind book it now. So family friendly also.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Kirsty Hutchinson: Safety: Bring bug spray!Walkability: The camp site is flat and absolutely beautiful!Food & drinks: There's a pub 2 minutes walk from the camp site which serves great value food and drinks, they also tend to have live music in the beer garden on Saturdays, im not sure about Sundays! There are no drinking water stations at this camp site, so bring plenty of water with you!Noteworthy details: The campsite owners are extremely friendly and helpful, we found that one of the blow up beds didnt have a manuel socket and so he kindly let us use his generator! Your also able to buy logs for your fire and mosquito bands all at reasonable prices. There are also four portaloos on site, please dont expect luxurious toilets, the camp was very busy on our second night, there was always toilet roll available.
Anna Osborne: We had a nice time but felt it was overpriced considering no water or showers and the toilets were fairly disgusting. Otherwise enjoyed the quiet setting and we received a warm welcome. Would be helpful if they emailed a reminder that there’s no water on site as it’s easily missed from the website.
Toni Harrison: This is an Absolutely beautiful campsite. I booked for just a night for a getaway with my husband and will definitely be booking again for longer. The pitches are nestled in the trees so it feels like you're away from everyone. The views are amazing wherever you look. No cars in sight as you can't drive to your pitch, which for us was a bonus. They supplied carts to take your things from your car to your pitch. Each pitch has its own fire pit too. Theres even a hotwheels track for the kids as well as toys and a mini library. They've honestly thought of everything. It was such a magical experience and would highly reccomend to anyone wanting a back to basics escape surrounded by beautiful nature.
Laura Brown: We had the perfect off grid escape and fire and stars! Lovely kind welcome and a free upgrade to a family camp spot that came with a seating area for the morning cuppa! Would come again and recommend to anyone!Nearby activities: Lovely pub!
Carl Mcdowell: The location and the wooded area for camping was spot on, however lack of facilities didn’t match the price if I’m honest. Which was basically porterloos, that some of them didn’t flush, however the owner did keep them very clean. You couldn’t take your vehicle to the actual camp site location so we had to hand ball all our gear to our camping pitch site.Lots of dogs off there leads whilst roaming around the camp site even from people that where not actually camping, so constantly having dogs come into our location and harassing our dog, so perhaps the owner needs to put signed up to tell people to keep there dogs on leads whilst roaming the camp site.Other than a few negatives and recommendations the place was spotless, you can see that the owner takes pride in the place which is nice to see.I’m only giving it a 3 star purely as I don’t think over £100.00 for two nights with basically just a porterloo and a patch of woods and the constant dogs and people walking into our camp site is worth it.
Mr & Mrs Handyman Services: Nice woodland campsite. pitches are well spread out and separated within the trees. very friendly staff
Mel Morris: Just back from a lovely stay at Fire & Stars - we loved it so much we stayed an extra night! We were made welcome from the get go. Beautiful camping spots under a canopy of trees, it does feel darker under the trees which is great in a morning as you aren't waking in a boiling hot tent. The fire areas are a huge bonus and we sat happily chatting and drinking around it. Yes the loos are portaloos but totally not comparable to festival toilets, they are kept clean and even have paper! Incredibly helpful and friendly staff, a nice mix of people camping but everyone respectful of the rules so beautifully quiet and chilled. If you want to a wild camping experience but with a safe feeling and a pub across the road this is the campsite for you. And the dog loved it too.
Lesley collins: Our third visit beautiful woodland thank you Andy see you again...Nearby activities: Local pub and townWalkability: Plenty of areas to explore
Wilhelm Strumpher: Great camp site, nice woodland setting.Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Kid-friendly …More
Adrian J: The best location in midlands for a proper camping in the forest with a bonfire.Playground: Basic kids playground
Sav Costa: Great off grid location, with a very pleasant and helpful manager.Playground: There Is a play area with toys.Dog-friendliness: Dogs very welcome.
Josh Waite: Really helpful staff Andy was brilliant from booking to arrival and once we were there, facilities were slightly lacking however hes in the process of building a toilet and shower block, pricing was reasonable and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay it’s just a shame the car broke down on the way home and caused a very long journey back on a low loader 🤦‍♂️ will definitely be back soon, all the best to Andy and team!
Kayleigh Anthony: 10/10 Perfect! Spacious camp areas kept beautifully natural, clean toilets, natural play areas for kids, the trolleys were a real back saver too! Definitely our new favourite spot. Just magical ✨️Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
C Lam: This place is absolutely stunning! It's perfect for families with little ones because you don't have to worry about their safety and there are endless opportunities for them to have fun and explore. I can't wait to come back here again!
Denis Oakley: Great find. Wife had booked a spa weekend, and so I took the kids camping in the October rain. The car race track was an immedfiate hit with the kids, as was the box of toys. We camped in a great spot and just managed to sneak our 8 man tent in between the trees. The firepit wsn't quite in the right place so we moved it - and found loads of earwigs and centipedes. The swedish firelog was great for toasting marshmallows and making smores and we then bulked it up with a bag of ashlogs. We didn't need the kindling though. What was great was that you can't park by the tent -which made it feel really wild. There are trolleys to move all your stuff and it was great leadership challenge for the kids to act as unwaged porters.I asked if the kids wanted to go back as we left - it had been pouring with rain all morning and they were soaked - they just said 'When?'Ideal for camping with friends with kids and having a BBQ
Ryan Ridgway: BEST campsite and out door experience ive ever had. Andy is an amazing host fully understanding how to help us enjoy this experience with nature. As we were completely new to camping knowing he was available and always always happy to help. We had a lovely space within the forest, an open fire that was ready for us to use and complete privacy even though there were many others staying within the grounds. I would highly recommend.
Huw Solly: Lush place, quiet and tranquil experience
wallingtonfilming The Candle man: This is going to be honest and down to earth review not sugarcoated.Let’s start at the beginning on arrival the owner is very friendly and accommodating person, you get your own little clearing in the woods for pitching the tent 🏕 which is very secure and ideal if you have kids to keep an eye on.Having your own little fire 🔥 pit for barbecuing your food and cooking is a very nice and Unique feature of this campsite ⛺️Negatives..However I did find the pricing 💰 for one night a little bit over the top when you consider there is no water supply to the whole campsite which means there is no facility for having a wash or shower 🚿 this would be a big problem if you were considering staying for more than one night, I must also point out that the toilets are not cleaned on a regular basis which causes a problem for the girls of the party having to sit on or squat over dirty toilets, a good hose down of the inside of the toilet would not go amiss however this is probably difficult for the owner due to the fact he has no water supply to the campsite.I should also point out that there is hardly any signal for your phones no matter what network you’re on.There is also no power to any of the pitches but there again you are going camping.Overall I must say we all enjoyed it and the area around the pitch was very clean and free from litter etc..If you wish you can see a full video on my YouTube channel of the experience we had @ wallingtonfilming on YouTube 🕯☕️🚬
