Picks Organic Farm: what do users think?
daniel mulligan: Bought a chicken from brook green farmers market and was not fresh.
Camilla Aidoo: Great customer service! There was some misunderstanding with my order. But after I called, it was immediately sorted and redelivered (in person).
Sue Webb: Put an order in and got a phone call to say 2 items were out of stock which was fine but when the order arrived I noticed that they had not sent the full order as it was not just the 2 items they told us about but there was another 2 items missing. They only sent one lot of bananas and I ordered 2 lots and they only sent one lot of onions and I ordered 2. I emailed them and they offered me a credit note which I did not want. No mention of a refund or an apology. Sadly I will not be ordering again. My advice is if you order from them, weigh your items and make sure you get what you ordered.
Andrea Speak: Popped in to PICKs for the first time the other day after passing it frequently on my travels, and was very disappointed. The first impression was the overwhelming smell of rotting vegetables everywhere, both inside and outside around the fruit and veg stand. There are no prices on any of the "fresh" produce so you have no idea how much they are until they are weighed, and they are very expensive. Not only expensive but very very poor quality. Soft rubbery potatoes that felt weeks old, sad looking lettuces, wrinkled and soft peppers, withered looking old carrots. It was really awful. Im sad to say that the fruit and veg in Sainsburys is of a much higher quality and a third of the price of Picks, and it really should be the other way round. Sorry, but I wont be returning.
Shell Metcalfe: Went to buy some vegetables yesterday - began filling my box but there were no prices displayed. Selected a range of seasonal veg and took them to the till. I noticed about halfway through that a single (slightly withered) cucumber was over £3 so I began to ask the price of other items. 7 tomatoes on the vine were £7-50 and three very small butternut squares were £5.64. I regularly shop at farm shops and understand prices are generally dearer but I felt the goods I was buying were grossly over priced so I offered to put the vegetablesles back and declined to buy.
Kalam Husain: Lovley and very friendly farm shop with great produce with a very very good selection of fresh and local products including FRESH milk ( non-pastryised/ hermagonised ) Which tastes a lot better than normal milk.
Jony Wilson: I had the bad fortune to purchase from Picks pop up at the Ashby Show this Sunday. I can honestly say it was the worst takeaway food ever. My sons hot dog was that over cook, and in parts burned it was uneatable. The burgers and sausage were weird in flavor and felt bulked out. Others sitting by us were either binning or moaning. Poor hygiene as wearing gloves but handling cash then food.
Henry Murray: This was a return visit after a long time I'm hoping to go back fairly soon hopefully they'll be more choices of things to purchase, I did manage to get some Organic carrots 🥕 and Organic lamb and chicken 🐔 😀 which was very nice, it was so nice to have some natural carrot juicer. The lady that served me was very polite helpful and very knowledgeable about her products and I am looking forward to going back to purchase more local produce even though it be a more expensive but its quality that matters at the end of the day 👌🏿.
Shadrack Adjei: Nicky is a lovely and friendly woman
Silver Ghost: What a fantastic farm shop to visit and a double bubble i saw them standing at a local market and had some meat and a cooked cob off them. Great value for money and very tasty too. Well recommended
Gilly Cook: So disappointed! Barely cooked burger with three bits of grissle that we noticed and spat out, no seasoning, 15 minute wait with no que, and then the burger was cut in half and fed into a hotdog bap!! Cheese grilled on the griddle to the point is was so sloppy half of it didn't make the burger, and then the till staff struggled with £7.50 x2! Very painful experience for £15. Love to support local and genuine businesses, but this one appeared to be cutting corners to make money which won't pay off long term, as won't get our custom again and word of mouth speaks thousands.
Lorna Wright: We had hot rolls at Misterton plant and craft fair. The sausage was barely warm and the skins were tough.I said I won’t have onions on my hot dog. The girl said that’s good as they haven’t sent any. This must have been booked for months! My husband ordered a breakfast roll and had to ask for the egg! These we realised were totally inflated prices.Soooo not worth the moneyDesperately disappointed.
Harsh Patel: Best place for the organic food n dairy products
Lancelot Sullen: Lovely food, in a neatly laid-out shop, in beautiful surroundings! Refreshments served, too!
jane exton: The streaky bacon and the chipolatas taste sooo nice, lots of flavour
lance pugh: Great shop
Linda Robson: Nice people, good produce, they are thinking of doing take away coffee or you can sit outside, you need to be careful when leaving site as vehicles coming from right difficult to see.
Gene Dunbar: Ordered gold hamper for Christmas. Arrived on time and exactly as ordered. All items of high quality and everything we needed for Christmas dinner for 9 of us. Definitely would recommend Picks produce. Olwen Dunbar.
Isobel Beetham-Holman: Love, love, love, love, LOVE this place! British, organic, free-range . . What more could you want!! Friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, great quality - it's Fab-u-lous! I mean, FABULOUS. It really is. Try it and see for yourself xx
Kier Gough: At the farmers market in Beeston, I purchased a hot roll which had undercooked sausage in it due to the vendor not paying attention. Other items in the roll were burnt. At least they did refund me.The owner of the company was dismissive of my complaint and told me the staff member would never have served me undercooked sausage - abysmal service. I will never purchase anything from their stall again.
I have bought at their stall 2 organic bavettes at the beginning of Setpember. Both piece of meat have been opened on the 6th and 7th of september (that is to say 3-4 days before the expiry date) and both were blue, the smell was disgusting and I'm not even mentioning the taste. Once could have been a mistake of preservation but twice shows that the issue comes from the farm. Paying 14£ for something that I can't even consume repels me.I strongly viva voce advice against buying meat from this farm and am even asking myself if sanitary measures have been correctly performed.
