The Mansion: what do users think?

Deby Jackson: After some tastings I went with a delicate green tea tasting of cherry. This paired well with the sandwiches, scones and cakes. Yum.

JoJo Le Grove: A beautiful space, very relaxed. I just couldn't find much vegan on the menu.Lovely cup of tea though

kath munro: Not only is the view of roundhay park and this glorious old manor house simply breathtaking, but the food and service were superb. The loaded nachos and the potato and leek soup were by far the best of either that I have ever had, and their hot beverages were equally pleasing. The little art gallery tucked next to the Cafe is a lovely way to end a visit as well.

Stuart de Boer: Now it's getting warmer you can sit outside ... with your food/drink brought out to you. Otherwise eat inside and enjoy the 1930s??? decor.

Rebecca McKenna: Went on a school trip and the kids loved it

michael pickard: Nice friendly place for a cup of tea and cake and then a walk round the lake 😌.

Lee Carter: Used to tea room, great coffee and tea plus great cake.

Aleeza Mansha: My husband and I planned our Asian wedding here for December 2023 and we had the best experience with Liam and the team. Every request or concern was met instantly during our planning process and the team ensured the wedding day ran as smoothly as possible! We had absolutely no worries throughout the whole process. The wedding day went perfectly; and the venue was set up beautifully. We absolutely loved our time here as did our family and friends. The venue is stunning inside and out and the team is just so amazing. We definitely recommend to any future wedding planners!

Janet Nicholson: Nice cafe in the beautiful Roundhay park. Lovely to sit out and see the view

Sumaira Babar: Beautiful venue and great service. 5 stars!

Dinsdale & Co: We visited Santa and had a fantastic experience

Arthur Chan: My friend had a wedding there and the venue is so good! Liam the manager is very friendly and experienced in his job. The one thing I can pick on was the sound system, it was buzzing a bit during the groom's speech

jane Helen: Amazing grounds for lovely peaceful walks. Cafe was very busy . for a old stately mansion it's nice .

Hazlewood Castle & Spa: what do users think?

Helen Elliott: Lovely lunch in the lounge, particularly the Bailey's chocolate tart. We finished with warm coffee, the heat setting maybe needs turning up on the coffee machine!

Daniel Beckwith: Had a lovely stay at Hazelwood castle for 2 nights. The room was spacious and clean. The hotel has so much character and charm, the staff were very helpful and polite. Breakfast was excellent and the restaurant had high quality food. My wife had a great experience at the spa getting a facial, we both really enjoyed shooting air rifles at live for today on the castle grounds. Totally recommend coming here and booking some activities.

Carl: Visited last week on a trip to York. Lovely setting - don't be put off by the map showing you the M1 nearby. It is far enough away to not hear the traffic - unless out in grounds. We only stopped for one night, arriving late and had breakfast the next morning. Next time, planned soon, we'll try the restaurant which is in the undercroft and a pleasant place to be.The room was warm and well appointed. Bathrooms were clean, but I will say that the grouting needs a bit of attention. Don't let this spoil the stay. For couples contemplating a wedding - I can see the attraction. If, as I am, a car nut - it would be a fantastic place to hold a car club meet. Lots of parking and areas that would show off one's pride and joy.If you go - have a super stay...Rooms: Well appointed and a comfortable bed.Walkability: Didn't use the grounds, but there are signposted walks. For children too.Food & drinks: Only had breakfast, which was good - can't say about evening meals or the bar. Next time.Noteworthy details: Lots of history. See the pictures I have uploaded.

Tom Boom: Beautiful groundsLocation: 5/5 …

Angie Wheeler: Stayed with 3 friends for a spa package, which was excellent value, hadn't been before so wasn't sure what to expect as we've been disappointed by other venues not living up to expectationsWell, we were pleasantly surprised, the venue, grounds, rooms, spa, meals, staff absolutely amazingNikki from the spa, Natalie from housekeeping & Ross from the restaurant were exceptionalWe had a wonderful time & will be returning

The Old Barn at Esholt: what do users think?

Amy Holland: We had our wedding at the Old Barn in March 2024 and we couldn’t have wished for a better day. From our first meeting with Diane the year prior to the day everything was spectacular. Diane is a complete professional, extremely friendly organised and hard working, she worked closely with our suppliers making the weeks leading up to the wedding stress free. Throughout the planning she recommended some fantastic suppliers! The venue is beautiful in a lovely location it was the perfect size for our wedding of 80 day guests. The food was spectacular, I have been to a few weddings at other venues where the food is mediocre however the food on our day was superb, the roast beef and Yorkshire puddings were beautiful! All the staff at the old barn worked incredibly hard, always with a smile on their face and they couldn’t have done enough for us. Thankyou so much to everyone at the Old Barn for creating such a magnificent day for us, the only let down is we can’t do it every year!

Toscana64: Beautiful building inside & out with plenty of parking space. The food is next to none especially the carvery, an ideal venue for any type of party. Highly recommend. Staff & management are really nice & helpful & nothing is any trouble.

LIVRID: Been to a couple of great weddings here.

Bryony Groves: and he was just incredible. We sent him a list of suggestions/requests before the day and he really ran with it, which created an incredible atmosphere where the dance floor was never empty! We'll be eternally grateful to everyone at The Old Barn for making our big day just so special and perfect.Thank you all,Mr. and Mrs. Stott 🖤Photos by @lizbakerphotos

Bobbie: I recently got married at the old barn and it was the most magical day!! Diane and the team there worked tirelessly to make sure myself and my new husband had everything that we could’ve possible wanted. Everything was seamless and perfect - from start to finish. Thank you, thank you, thank you xx

Andrea: My daughter recently had her wedding at The Old Barn and they gave everyone a fantastic day. Diane and her team helped everything run seamlessly. Thank you Diane, I would highly recommend your venue to anyone who is thinking of having their wedding at The Old Barn.

Imogen: We booked the Old Barn at Esholt for our wedding and are thrilled with how everything went. The food was amazing, of a really high quality and we've received lots of compliments from guests about how delicious it was. Our wedding guests were able to use the driving range, which was a massive hit and made the day that extra bit fun and unique. We paid a small fee to be able to have the venue stay open until 02:00AM which was a fantastic bonus for us as we usually feel that weddings end too early. Diane and her team were a pleasure to work. They were flexible and accommodating about the menu, ceremony layout, music and extra bits we wanted like a cheese wedding cake. As our guests love craft beer, Diane ordered our preferred cans of beer and sold these on the day. This was a lovely touch for us to be able to have our ideal drinks selection on offer. The day itself went very smoothly with everything being impeccably well organised with great care taken. We were thoroughly well looked after and we are so grateful.

Jasbeer Samplay: Wow beautiful

Peter Stead: I went to the driving range but nice to know The Old Barn is part of same company. I got a coffee which was very nice. They also sell alcohol if you fancy a drink. There is no option for food as it is catering for functions such as weddings.

Liam Garnett: and assistant manager

Maria Mammaloo: Beautiful place.Went for a wedding. The food was amazing, the grounds and bar were great. They have the best staff there.Donna was extremely helpful and friendly and looked after us all

Ali Limbert: What an amazing wedding day we have had. Diane and her team have been amazing from the initial booking right through to our big day. Nothing was too much trouble and we could even have our dogs as part of the ceremony and our day. Our afternoon tea was amazing especially the cakes. We were made to feel so special. We have made memories which we will treasure forever.

Bradley Haworth: is worth it alone. Made complete with extremely thoughtful touches, from a prosecco on arrival to a gift bag of drinks and fruit on departure.

caroline scully: We met friends here for a meal and stayed overnight for convenience. I hadn’t done any research in advance as was booked by our friends and what a lovely surprise it was. Fantastic welcome on arrival, stunning room which was dog friendly and an incredibly impressive meal. All round, a really fantastic experience and we didn’t even get to the spa so sure this would have added to it also.

Sophia Mousoulides: I had a lovely afternoon tea here. The room and atmosphere was great.Hotel highlights Luxury, Great view …

Helen Baker: . The food was great and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful. So many lovely thoughtful small details were thought of and went into making it a lovely day. We will definitely be back, by far the best place we’ve ever booked for a Christmas meal! Thank you.

Annie Clark: Lovely venue

Joss Denham Photography: Lovely wedding venue, with AMAZING views. Very friendly staff.

Ben Rajan: .Instead of a 'Do not disturb' sign for your door handle, you can leave Bobby the Badger outside your door

Malmaison Leeds: what do users think?

Gary Murphy: Great place. Recommended by friends and I enjoyed it.

Martin Weedall: Great hotel, lovely bar and restaurant. Perfect location for anything in the city centre, walking distance to the main Leeds train station and also two car parks across the street. You get a discount if you park in the Q Park one, discount code on the hotel website. Great location for anything Leeds. Good clean modern rooms and friendly staff 👍🏻

Joel Allen: Hotel room was a good size, nice and clean. Didn't look tired. Breakfast was very nice in the morning, big thumbs up.Only issue was that due to the location it was really noisy at night. The staff did say that the other end of the hotel is much quieter if you actually want to sleep 🤷🏻‍♂️ probably good if you didn't go on a Friday or Saturday.

Kate Williams: but I respect that in this day and age we are still brought up that way, I politely corrected her and she was genuinely apologetic about it I assured her it was OK. No offence was taken. :-

Herman Van den Berg: Cozy bar, we didn't sleep here.

Michael Leonard: Superb meal.excellently cooked.generousportions.Good service by ADAM.!!Food & drinks: Great.!!!

Jane Thomas: A beautiful building. Rooms have the most gorgeous views over the canal. A great location for the city centre but the interior decor is so dark! Everything is corporate dark grey and black. I associate Malmaison with bright quirky decor. Malmaison Leeds is Corporate gloom. We don’t all go to hotels for team building exercises and conferences and even if we do why is everything soo gloomy and dark? Please lighten up, bring some joy back into the bedrooms , restaurant and communal spaces.

Jayne Cook: Rooms a liitle dated, quality bath robes and towels, had a great nights sleep, beds and pillows comfortable. Food nice. Staff are lovely, warm and welcoming. Would stay again.Nearby activities: Indoor skiing centre and shopping centre nearby. Leeds city centre easy to get into by car - approx 4 milesWalkability: Large shopping centre, resaurants and supermarket within walking distanceFood & drinks: Food nice

Kay Fletcher: We stayed here for an overnight stay. From arrival, right up until we left, staff are professional and friendly. We had an evening meal, breakfast and and afternoon tea and all the food served was of a high quality and delicious.Rooms are lovely and are clean. Toiletry products in the room - The White Company are a really nice touch.Spa and pool area nice and relaxing. Bar areas and restaurants are kept to a high standard.Would definitely recommend this hotel, and I'm sure we will back again.

Tracy: , she really is a credit to Thorpe Park Hotel and made us all feel so welcome and ensured that our evening meal was perfect.Food & drinks: Amazing meals

Doug: Decent, clean and comfortable hotel with spa. Great location if you need to be close to a motorway but otherwise desolate if you aren’t travelling by car.Rooms: Clean, quiet.Walkability: Not walkable.

Deborah Wright: Had a lovely afternoon tea. Lovely relaxing atmosphere and brilliant service. Plenty of parking available.Food & drinks: Lovely afternoon tea. Plenty to eat and drink.

D Hews: A lovely stay, lovely rooms with everything you could possible need in them, really thought out from the coffee machine, hairdryer with extra mirror, bedding, sofa in the room to how you get your milk/water.. excellent. The hotel is well kept with nice interior & carpets & the spa area is well thought out & a decent area & The Staff were all really lovely & very accommodating. Food was good, could of been more choice on starter & mains but the dessert was fabulous & had the wow. Breakfast was just ok, it sounded more luxury then it was, the pancakes were inedible for the 2 who ordered these, way too sweet with maple, sugar & the awful sweet cherries .. much better option would be yoghurt, honey & mixed berries maybe these should be available anyway to help yourself too. The 2 who had english breakfast- lots of people dont want black pudding so a few more options would be nice on this.. hash brown & proper mushrooms were definitely missed for us especially on a vegetarian option, noone eats the field mushrooms do they?. Nice brown toast though. Still a 4/5 for our overall visit as some areas were excellent.

The Engine Shed: what do users think?

DAVID QUAYLE: Celebrated our daughter’s 21st birthday at the Engine Shed on the 9th March. Beautiful venue, amazing food and great staff. We had a very special evening. Mandy & David Quayle

Loz Pape: - done!Lee always made himself available to meet up to chat and always quick to respond to emails. He literally went above and beyond to meet all our requirements and the day ran perfectly. The team on site were so kind and helpful. Now let's talk about Dave, the amazing Chef! I can not tell you what a challenge our food order was. Tapas style for 150 people - 4 dishes each - including those with dietary requirements! That man provided a Miracle! Every meal was not only delicious but still hot! I would love to say our day will be remembered because of us the couple but it won't - it will be remembered by the gorgeous mountains of food everyone consumed! If you have any doubts the Engine Shed is the right venue for you then just go meet Lee and the team for a chat - I can assure you it will be the best thing you ever do. Plus if you want to try the food before the wedding then contact the venue to attend a taster night - always a great night and you get to see the venue set up. Beautiful!

Richard Meadmore: Lovely venue and staff

Joe Adam: Excellent place, pretty funny/wacky but still really nice, makes a great atmosphere with ample parking. We had an awesome Jewish event and was very impressed with the premises, service, design and the staff were great.Would definitely use again

Linkey Wedding: was so relaxed and friendly and made everything feel really simple and easy. This ‘vibe’ continued throughout the whole process to the day itself where everything ran so smoothly and well - we had so many comments from guests about how well the staff/Lee ran everything! Nothing seemed too difficult to manage for Lee and the Engine Shed staff. Most of the vendors we used were recommended by the Engine Shed or we found them at one of their wedding fairs - all of whom were great and we would also recommend. It all made for a stress free planning process. We loved the venue itself from the moment we walked in on our first visit - the space was so fun and different and just felt perfect for us. The venue stylist

James Newman: Great event space.

Andrew Lines: Great venue. Lovely staff. Made my brother's wedding a joy.

Silvia: One of my all-time favourite venues Perfect for birthday parties🎉🎉🎉Bouncy castles and soft play packages available to hire to this Hall from www.funfactorleeds.co.uk

ANDREW DEAN: We booked the Engine shed for my partners 40th from the initial enquiry the communication from the venue was first class. What a brilliant venue on the evening Emma the manager really looked after us. All the guests commented on how amazing the venue looked and were supper impressed with the food. Thank you for providing the perfect evening

Alec C: We had the Xmas 3 course lunch, great value, quality food showed on all 3 courses, very friendly, efficient local staff, excellent service. 👍👍👏

Jane Freeman: Highly reccomend. We had our wedding celebration party here in Sept. It was totally incredible. The team at The Engine Shed could not have been more helpful or accommodating with great enthusiasm & suggestions. The food was absolutely superb & they catered for gluten free really well. I can’t reccomend them highly enough. It’s well worth going to one of their wedding events to see it. We also found the excellent DJ & room dresser there too.

Phil Chadwick: Fantastic place to spend new year's eve.

Robert Haskins: Always makes for a good occasion

Louise Pickett: I could not ask for a better wedding day and so much of that is down to the hard work of the entire team at the Engine ShedI would encourage anyone to look into this venue - thank you again!

Oulton Hall: what do users think?

Dottie Dart: Stayed recently as a couple for 2 nights. The hotel was easy to find, had plentiful parking and is a fabulous building, with very impressive decor. The room was lovely with everything you would need, very comfy pillows and bed, great shower, lovely thick light blocking curtains. However despite the luxury of the place both of us only thought the stay was OK and it is difficult to say exactly why, just the little things: it didn't feel like somewhere you could comfortably wander around and explore or just leisure around in. Usually we like to use facilities, spars and pools the bar etc but not this time. It felt like most staff were working from a formula from which they didn't deviate and were not really interested in ensuring you made the most of your stay. On arrival very little was explained, no details of breakfast times, pool or spar arrangements etc. On leaving not even a 'have you enjoyed your stay, was everything OK?', despite no one else queuing behind us. No sweetener on the tables at breakfast only sugar. No teaspoons on many place settings, and none available by the coffee machine. No spare knives available by the toast etc so if your cutlery was taken there was no obvious replacements. Monday breakfast had lots of choice but decidedly less on Tuesday, eg no crumpets and no sign of any. The cooked breakfast selection was regularly topped up and things were hot. Despite usually eating in for evening meals we decided to go out but both evenings on return we were greeted with a very strong fishy odour which filled the entrance and lobby area, clearly from the restaurant. It was not pleasant to return to but had we eaten there we probably wouldn't have noticed. You can walk to a bus stop and catch a very regular service into Leeds so it's well positioned for that. A good hotel that others may well adore but just had that special something missing for us.

Sarah Caton: Had a pleasant 2 night stay at Oulton Hall Hotel. Some of the rooms could do with updating and as there was an issue with our first room, we were given a different, much smarter room for our stay. The spa pool is a little small and did get busy even mid week but managed a swim. Didn't have any spa treatments. The quality of the food in the restaurant is excellent and we enjoyed two evening meals. Good selection of breakfast. We found the staff very friendly and helpful and particular thanks go to Megan, Jay, Dylan and Jasmine.

Sue Forth: Wonderful overnight stay..can’t recommend enough!Treated ourselves to a junior suite..the Wensleydale Suite..and just wow..we felt like celebrities! Luxurious, sumptuous, and palacios! From the welcoming greeting at reception..to all the members of staff we came across..we felt so looked after! Happy staff speaks volumes nowadays..and the friendliness, professionalism and dedication is really plain to see..well done to everyone! It was Mother’s Day..so a lovely atmosphere of people relaxing and enjoying themselves! Our evening meal was delightful ..as was breakfast! There’s a lovely spa area to relax in!The trip went far too quickly..but left feeling refreshed and pampered!Cant wait for our next visit!

Maisie Lowe: which didn’t matter to us, we had a letter pushed through the bottom of every persons door to apologise about the fire alarm issue they had which was kind. Also! When we arrived into our room within 30 mins someone called up our room phone to ensure everything was ok with our room and we were happy. I loved this touch!!!Oliver in the dining hall, well he’s just fabulous and a great part of the staff at the hotel. All of the guests loved him and he had a little joke to cheer everyone up after the fire alarm going off in the night.I will definitely be returning! I highly recommend! The place is beautiful and every room is immaculate with perfectly chopped cushions

Debbie Lister: Had a Spa experience with my daughterfor the day. It was fabulous.

Chris Wootton: De stress. Atmosphetic and historic. No TV . Quality. Speciality food .Service exceptional. Tranquil . chill out zone. Historic congenial ity.Compliments to Roger the chef...behind the scenes... thanks to Ellie and Oliver in restaurant. Opulant facilities. Desert ferfecto.!Nearby activities: Golf and spa
