Northern School of Contemporary Dance: what do users think?

Dayam McIntosh: Taught my daughter for years right up until 16 and always stayed loyal to her in face of a large waiting list. Highly recommend if you can get a place.

ewan povey: I've studied performance in Further and Higher Education since 1993 on and off and since then I have also maintained a working life in Entertainment of various kinds. NSCD stands out to me as a place that delivers a world class standard of Dance education along with being a really welcoming, safe and inclusive place. I started my journey round the corner in the former Thomas Danby College and know the area well and am aware how long standing the status of Dance is in the local community which is also one of the liveliest in the North. I would recommend anyone at all to study here

Dora Frankel: Fabulous school , full of fabulous people.Dancers Nina Lewis and Camille Jacquier

Miglė Janeliūnienė: My daughter has attended a summer school here. She had the best experiences: teaching methods, facilities, staff, atmosphere were all at the highest level of professional. Highly recommend.

Antonis Stephani: So happy to see my daughter graduating after 3 years of studying.

Pòl Ruddock: Visiting this prestigious dance school for the first time, I enjoyed a Vegan lunch in their wonderful little café. The catering and hospitality team are very friendly and welcoming and the food is excellent quality and reasonably priced. The upcoming programme of shows is exciting and extensive with dance styles to suit and enthral all tastes. You can find details of all upcoming events on the Norther School Of Contemporary Dance website. They are immensely talented and well worth supporting ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 10/10 Borderline Eleven.

The Dance Studio Leeds: what do users think?

Maria Fert: Absolutely thrilled with my experience at this dancing school! Starting with heels beginners was a fantastic choice, and I just signed up for more classes. Olivia's boundless energy creates an incredibly positive atmosphere. Looking forward to continuing my dance journey here!

Vicky Hughes: Love the weekly Dancercise with Holly class. Great atmosphere at the studio and Holly makes the class fun, relaxed and really friendly

Carmen Lai: The Tap Fundamentals course was well worth the wait, and well worth the price. I've been wanting to learn tap dance for some time, and while there are plenty of videos for this nothing beats being there in person. Amelia was such a lovely teacher, and so patient with us newbies! I will definitely continue classes with this dance studio.——Edit:A year on and I’m still loving the classes here. I’ve been with Ceris for beginners tap, Holly for dancercise, and Jess for mashup courses. All good fun and exercise! The teachers here are all very supportive and friendly.

Jade Tosney: As a retired dancer who had lost her "groove" and confidence, finding The Dance Studio Leeds was a game changer! Going to Holly's Dancercise class on a Monday has given me my confidence back, and is an hour of good vibes and self love. I love that Holly has multiple versions of routines to make classes accessible to all. Thank you Holly for building a safe space, a community of girl power, improving my fitness and building my self esteem!

antonia bowler: I love being at the Dance Studio! Everyone is so welcoming and the classes are so fun. I've learned so many different styles of dance; ballet with Anna, Commercial and Musical theatre with Jess and Dancercise with Holly. I loved them all!! From starting with Dancercise with Holly last year I've grown in confidence and with the classes with Jess and Anna I feel my confidence in my dance skills growing. I look forward to my classes every week and can't wait to take another fundamental ballet course with Anna soon x

Gemma Rudette: I love DSL, I’ve been doing Jess’s musical dance classes and commercial classes since Jan 2023 and I’ve started Holly’s Dancercise this year and the difference is amazing! I haven’t danced in 15 years and I never thought I would be back to dancing or have the confidence to dance in front of an audience, yet because of DSL, Jess and Holly, I have been able to do that and strive to do it more, thank you so much!! It has made the biggest difference in my life and I want to be there everyday, just fantastic!!

Louise Sidibe: The Dance Studio, Leeds, is an amazing place to experience dance. The studio is so inclusive and welcoming, more so than any other I have attended. Teachers are knowledgeable in their field of dance, so incredibly talented and encouraging no matter what your level is. The underlining belief you can feel is that dance is for all and for all to love, enjoy and have fun!!! Special mention to Holly, who brightens up our Monday evenings with dancexercise - we come away so positive and energised! And the ever so talented ballet teacher Anna , who is ever so patient with her teaching style and inspires us all to improve.

Emily Gibbins: I cannot recommend Dance Studio Leeds enough! The jazz performance group with Zoe and musicals classes with Jess are the highlight of my week. Zoe and Jess are both brilliant teachers, and create such a fun and welcoming environment in their classes. In the time I’ve been coming to their classes I have grown so much in confidence, performed on stage after not dancing for years, and have met the most wonderful people. Very grateful to DSL, Jess and Zoe for giving me something so fun to look forward to every week!

Inga Gogulska: Beginners Ballet classAnna is great. She really knows how match technique with the level of class and the same time give a challenge.

Becky Holderness: I absolutely love my dance classes at Dance Studio Leeds. I do the Jazz Performance group with Zoe, and beginner ballet with Anna on a Monday evening, and these classes are honestly one of the highlights of my week!Zoe and Anna are both fantastic teachers - supportive and clearly passionate about the style of dance they each teach. I always have a great workout and come away feeling uplifted and inspired.I'd highly recommend these classes and the studio in general for anyone who's looking to try dance for the first time, or return to it after a long break - it's such a fun and welcoming environment!

Libby Chapman: Anna's ballet classes are super fun, she is so helpful with improving our technique without ever letting us feel discouraged if we can't do something just yet - love it!

Sidonie Lawrie: Anna is a fantastic tutor. She explains the basics of each move so that you are always starting from the fundamentals and then adding to it. She manages to make every lesson informative and fun, and is patient whenever we require more practice. I love learning ballet with Anna and would highly recommend for anyone looking to start a new hobby!

Karen Pang: Love beginners street dance classes and commercial classes so much fun.🤩

Luke Burgess: As a couple who don't dance, and who can't dance, we came here for lessons so that our first wedding dance wasn't typically awkward. Holly was such that she simply got us moving straight away. Each lesson with her was fun and she gave us the confidence to give a 'performance' at our wedding. Who knew dancing could be fun!

Zack Baines: We came in with 2 left feet hoping not to look stupid at our wedding and left feeling like pro dancers.I can't praise Katie enough, she's fun to work with so sweet and supportive and an absolutely amazing choreographer. The dance studio is lovely and a steal for what we paid. Between feeling excited to do our first dance and dropping a suit size in the process we're so grateful to the team.

Rachel Cordingley: We had a great evening at the Ilkley Bluebelles WI doing line dancing with Zoe from The Dance Studio Leeds. Brilliant and enjoyed by all x

Josh Cooper: I booked some wedding dance lessons with Jess Cooper as our teacher to prepare for our first dance together. Jess was amazing throughout the 3 lessons we had. I'd never had a dance lesson before so didn't know what to expect. Jess' teaching style was very patient but still managed to get us up to speed whilst keeping it fun. My wife and I going to look at booking some future dance lessons to spice up our nights out from the great experience we both had.The wedding dance honestly couldn’t have gone much better. Once we’d got the main moves remembered Jess made sure to provide some further pointers on space and direction which made all the difference on the big day. We got a huge applause after the dance, and everybody complimented us on how well we’d done. If you’re considering dance lessons in general, or especially a wedding, I cannot recommend them enough. Jess even asked to see a video after the wedding. It’s the personal touches that make a difference. 10/10 – highly recommend! Thanks for everything, Jess. We both really appreciate it.

Arianne Morris: Lovely dance studio with helpful staff. Enjoyed our wedding dance lessons with Jess. She was patient and helpful throughout. Would defiantly recommend coming here if your not sure what to do for your 1st dance. It was a great experience and easy to find the information with prices on the website.

mick dobson: . Can also order interval drinks and use the toilets in the interval.

stephen paxman: We went to see simple minds in concert. What an experience, not just the concert but on arrival we were shown where to go by very pleasant staff. There were metal detectors on entrances that make you feel a bit safer.Their bar areas were well staffed, and they had a massive pick and mix stall. What more can I say.Great night.

frank lewis: Had a fantastic night

Carlo Davis: Great venue, parking is just across the road

Nicola Taylor: Great location, staff friendly and super helpful x

Lisa Sykes: Liked it for the music, place was clean, but its expensive £14.25 for a pint of lager and a large Coke!

Andrew Sykes: Went here for a Marti Pellow concert, and it was good. There's parking nearby BUT be wary as an event finishes the local parking can be crazy. The bars is expensive £7.95 for a pint of lager. The toilets are plenty and clean. I couldn't really fault the place.

Mrs Goodchild: Great location. Clean. Well organised. Not as big as other arenas.Went to see Disney on ice.Good parking local and plenty of places to eat

Emma Paine: Amazing as always!! Love visiting to see fantastic performances from comedy to music, great atmosphere and friendly, helpful staff.

Katrina Greenhalf: What a show. 3 top bands in one evening. The best in entertainment. Shame about the rising merch prices and the drunkards who sit in front of you and don't appreciate the music as they are too drunk and spend half the gig going to the toilet! You know who you are!

Catherine Cairns: Show great and very helpful staff
