Isle of Skating: what do users think?
Jacque Morrison: Hi 👋🏽 Just finished my beginner session in Hammersmith with Sarah and it was wonderfulloved every minute.Anyone wanted to start, go for it ! You meet new people, learn a new skill and keep fit, it’s fun fun fun 🤩
Karen Simeons: Wonderful course leaders - great for building confidence and learning a variety of new techniques and moves. More courses in Oxford please!
Liz Holwell: Teaching on the Oxford course is great. The hall isn’t brilliant - quite small and not a great surface. Given the high price of the course it would be great if they could buy a speaker for music!
Amber Chester: I've had 2 classes so far: 1 free introductory class and 1 Ultimate Beginners. Both were geared towards people who had never skated before and both were great! I can only trudge and step in my skates so far and the classes were very much at my level. The Sunday teacher in Walthamstow (Lolli, I believe) was very supportive and managed to make some very nervous skaters feel at home and excited about skating! Can absolutely recommend the Ultimate Beginners course 👌
c alga: I just finished the level one course. And it has helped me regain confidence again in myself . I will repeat it until I get my goal. Fantastic experience. Fun atmosphere and my coach Shynel was patient and very motivating. I recommend an Isle of skating 100%.Cande
Leanne Coleman: Just finished level 1 in Hendon with Amir and had the BEST time! Feeling so much more comfortable on my skates and excited to keep learning! Thank you Amir and Isle of Skating!
Allo' Allo: Absolutely look forward to my Sundays for my Skate class. Ive learnt so much since I started in the late summer. Amzy & Onyx have been amazing teachers. Classes are always fun! Highly recommend.
Federica Gialanze: I have done the ultimate beginners course, went back to do level 2, just finished roller skating forever and about to start another 6 weeks of the same :). Plus a bunch of drop in sessions. I can’t get enough of Isle of Skating! All teachers have been absolutely amazing! So grateful I found you X
Mélanie Duroux: Isle of Skating is SO GOOD I've been going to 4 courses so far, and counting! I've only had incredible coaches so far, and I love the fact that I've seen different types of coaching, giving you lots of opportunities to discover what you prefer. You'll cover things from outdoor essentials, dancing transitions and tips, roller derby stops, but tons more. I really recommend it, and everyone is super welcoming, always in great mood. I'm going to these classes with a smile a great motivation. Can't wait for the next one! Keep it rolling 💃✨🕺
Hilde Svartrapmo: Just finished my Level 1 course with Alli! Really fun course, learned lots and Alli was an amazing teacher :) Would recommend!
Dina Walters: Poor customer service, lack of communication, lack of customer care. They turn something that should be pure joy into stress by really not caring about you. Unpleasant experience, should be avoided.
Ravi Tastic: Just wanted to stop by and say thanks to Katie, they ran the drop in session in Stockwell this evening. They were an amazing teacher, patient and proficient! They taught me the importance of adjusting the truck, correct skating form, falling, getting up and challenged me to do bubbles so I could learn a STOP! While I know I need to practice, am really glad to have learnt the fundamentals this evening! 🤩 I definitely left feeling super confident and ready to face skating! Thanks Katie! 😍
Roland Dunn: Lovely people and classes. Great way to learn roller skating!
Lydia Calder: Really enjoyed my class! I've signed up to the next level as it was so fun, with good class sizes and great teachers. So much faster learning here than by myself
Hattie Wynter: Nele is an amazing patient teacher. She is a dream to work with and always celebrates her students wins! All the isle of skating coaches are mega lovely and talented. Highly recommend!
Aleksandra Pflumio: Fantastic courses, excellent coaches and fun atmosphere during classes is what I loved about Isle of Skating. I've just finished their 'Skating Forever' course and still can't believe the progress I've made in just 6 weeks! The coaches are very supportive and always try and push you to do more than you think you can. I loved it so much that I'm now starting a new course with them. If you want to get started or if you'd like to level up your skills, don't look further - it will be worth every penny you spend.
Alex Blue: Amazing course, great enthusiastic coaches, achieves the impossible!I signed up for the Level 2 Roller Skating Skills course, with a little nervousness: 'Is this the right level for me?' 'Will it be too hard, or too easy?' 'Is this good value for money?' Well, it turns out I needn't have worried so much. Nele and the coaching team teach with such enthusiasm, attention to detail, and have so much experience that success is basically guaranteed. At the first session they got a sense of our collective skill level as a group, and adjusted the course to fit us perfectly. And each session had me making progress, pushing just outside my comfort zone - sometimes we'd be shown a skill or technique and I'd think: "No, that's impossible, I can't do that." And by the end of the session, after a few tips and encouragement, I'd have done it. Achieved the impossible.Simply put, Isle of Skating are brilliant. Warm, inviting, enthusiastic, supportive and experienced. The venues are great, and the people are great. I've found a new group of skate pals - and now that the Level 2 course has come to an end, I'm continuing to push myself, learn new skills, and have lots of fun in the Isle of Skating *Roller Skating Forever* classes.
f v: I loved every minute of every class, teachers are insanely talented and their love for skating is the building blocks of an amazing community! I just completed the "skating forever course" and I already enrolled into the next course. Skating forever for real!
RK F: Super supportive, patient and FUN across programmes & coaches. I've participated in beginners, intermediate and jam skating (my fave) this year. It's been great for MH, fitness and confidence. A great community. Highly recommend.
Diogo Martins: I had a skate park session with coach Robbie and she was just amazing. I was feeling super anxious and not confident at all but she was so patient, supportive and just helped me doing whatever I felt comfortable with at my own pace. Coach Robbie gave me loads of tips and things to practice so I can prepare myself and feel more confident for next time I go to a skate park. (Ines L.)
Sally Leroy: I don't think I could praise Isle of Skating enough...From the friendly and encouraging teachers to the range of classes and locations across London, this is my go-to school!I've enjoyed jam classes in lockdown from my living room (that was more fun than it sounds) and took a few individual classes with the boss herself, Nele, at the skatepark. She gave me more support than I could have imagined and I cannot wait to book a few more again!Honestly, just do it - you won't regret it.

Skate Wandsworth: what do users think?
Stephen Leonard: It's quite a big place and you can hire skateboards for free at the shop. It's quite a relaxed vibe but can be quite busy.
Mattias Bertilson: Wonderful place to come after school or weekend for my 6 year old. They have free hire of skateboards, bikes and scooters. Free to use ping pong table, chess board, basketball hoops and even toilets and a small cafe. It’s everything you could need to keep the kids occupied with play for a few hours! Recommended for all parent with young kids or teenagers alike.
Nadine Edwards: Really fun place to be. Kids really enjoyed it.
Charles Jackson: This skate park is community driven and it's shows. Children and teens are comfortable to enjoy life like a child should. Definitely a great place to visit and get a little bit of board time in. Sk8.
Craig Dennis: Really impressed with the Park, brought my niece who was really nervous about going as she has never tried skating before but the staff there could not have been more accommodating. You can rent equipment and boards for FREE if you don't have your own and they said they run a girls only skate club which we'll definitely be going back to try! They have a tuck shop for a coffee or cold drink for the adults too.
Mark Dragoumis: Amazing staff and community. Creative skatepark. Built very well.
Nora: There is a session every Saturday with coaches to teach children who to play skateboard 5£ each session From 10-12After 12 will be offering skateboard and hamlet free
Kimmie Fox: Bought a skate board not a proper shop more like a youth center but nice staff
Serge Acker: Nice place in Wandsworth to go and learn (skateboarding, bmx…) there is a club of sorts which convenes on Saturdays for group lessons (5£ per Person I think…). And you can borrow a board for free!
Cfc_AC: Fun place and really friendly and helpful staff👍🏻🙂
David Sterry: What a great place... Free but well run and enormously fun for my 6 year old.. Highly recommended for kids..
Albert France-Brotherton: Great spot to sit and relax while the kids ride on the skate ramps or pump track
Mr. Rodriguez: The layout of the skate park is badly designed. The park is too small and packed with obstacles including quarters, ledges and rail. There are also annoying patches of grass within the park which limits the flow. Overall there is very little space to skate around or to approach the obstacles at an angle. The timber ramps/quarters are narrow and several timber sheets are broken and dislodged. The guys who work there are very nice and do their best do keep this place running. They also offer skate lessons. Council should spend some money on renovating this skate park.
Alex Hebert: Great place, perfect for kids. Good selection of ramps. Bike track for younger kids, too small for older kids
Carly Skinner: It was good but not really suitable for toddlers (i.e. balance bike track) as I thought it might be.
Miss T Hippykat: Lovely safe enclosed park for kidsKids can bring their scooter bmx bike and normal bikes and skateboards parents can watch also great place 👍
G Lester: Great community
Jo B: Fantastic place and a really unique resource for local kids 👍
daniel ajike: Good but more Bmx competition
Gemma W: Fantastic place for kids wish there were more like it
Leon: GREAT! Best day ever

Hampton Court Palace Ice Rink: what do users think?
N Thomas: Update April - was responded to and offered new tickets which I declined and was eventually given a refund altogether.Update - been asked below to contact them and did so but haven’t had any response at all.We just took our 5 and 10 year old here this morning. First we paid for a disgusting spinach and ricotta pastry which was raw inside and contained no ricotta just boiled spinach. I had to swap it for an equally gross toasted cheese sandwich. We then hit the ice which was uneven and so flooded it shouldn’t have been open. No one was able to skate everyone was just walking around, kids miserable, dangerous. We left the ice within 5 mins. What a waste of £60 plus the money on horrible food. It’s been 5 years since we last came as we usually go elsewhere like Woburn but we won’t come back again now. I’m livid and my children are very upset. I don’t recommend this place anymore not at all. Save your money.
Peta: Our tickets were cancelled due to the weather yet our booking fee wasn’t! We couldn’t reschedule as the season was closing. Really unacceptable!
Andrew “KinFit” Kinsler: Great experience!Sophie & Will were very helpful and very friendly :)Highly recommend for a fun day out.
Amy Shrimpton: A beautiful location. Lovely and helpful staff. Can't wait to go again.
Jemma Jordan: Never actually managed to go but a warning to everyone!: even if hampton court cancel your tickets (not you), they will keep the booking fee. Very sneaky if you ask me. I had no choice to exchange so could only refund and now I am down some money because of it.
Mart In: Busy but amazing evening out. Will go again next year.
life2shorts: Perfect place for ice skating in winter !
Alex Koh: Pleasant place to get away on weekend evening with kids. Beautiful pace to ice skate ⛸️ in with west london. The ice degrades over time as it is very popular and always packed. Plenty of space and 45 min session is sufficient. Parking and food hospitality available on the spot for those who just wants to sit and wait.Drink cost between 3-6 for hot chocolate/coffee/beer. Food varies from 2-6 with home made pies being their best home served food.
Dan Hart: I came to the rink today and a member of staff named Toby served me and provided excellent service, I couldn’t have hoped for a more accommodating visit. Thoroughly enjoyed my skating and can’t wait to be back next year.
Salina Harvey-Porter: I attended today with my 7 and 9 year old children. Staff were friendly and generally helpful on entrance. Sadly the quality of the ice was appalling. As an outdoor rink, it is at the peril of the weather and today it was raining. The ice was flooded making it extremely slippery but also ridged along the back edge where it appeared to be worn with the pipes causing lumps and was therefore very hard to skate on (my family are regular skaters). The majority of skaters were struggling which was leading to some nasty falls and crashes, also some very anxious parents with small children which led to several heated arguments. The 2 staff on the ice were not being as supportive to skaters as they could have been. I made the decision to end my 7 year old’s session after only 20 minutes and took the opportunity to speak the the manager, Will, about my concerns and he agreed to place additional staff on the ice to help which happened pretty quickly. I understand the ice wasn’t considered unsafe, due to the weather, but it was very unpleasant and insufficient staff marshalling the skaters made it a very unpleasant experience and definitely not worth the fee paid. Sadly, we won’t be returning and won’t be recommending.
Ieva Rituma: The ice is terrible quality and the rink is very small
david xerri: Shocking behaviour from the staff. We ordered penguins for 4 children. But were told they are not on the order. There were plenty of spare penguins but we were told they were booked. Booked for what ? They were sitting untouched for the whole session!!! The children were crying, one very small. My wife had to go round to the beginning multiple times to pick up old wristbands to get penguins. The girls eventually got 15 mins of skating. The “penguin police showed no common sense” on what was meant to be a special day.
Lauren Anne: Very organised operation! Easy getting ice skates, access to cloakroom etc. One of the children had an accident and the first aider was a paramedic which was great! We visited when it was raining so there was a significant amount of water on the ice which was disappointing, but it is an uncovered ice rink so not much could be done about that. Overall we had a lovely experience with a great back drop!
janice tsui: Received an email stating our session was cancelled on 20th December morning, so we amended the booking on the same day afternoon.Few hours later we received an email stating that it was cancelled again! It was a sunny day, prefect to have a family day out. Not sure the reason for this cancellation but this made my girl and her friends disappointed ☹We finally amended the ticket again to 28th December. What a shame that our session not cancel at this poor weather……. The ice ring looked like a swimming pool. Very dangerous and bad condition of the ice. We choose not going in the ring which means our ticket totally wasted !!Complete shambles.
Mariana Freitas Amaral: Ice rink is completely flooded, the music is terrible. Not worth the money
Leanne Blunt: Went skating with 12 family members. Have always wanted to do this, however, there are a few things worth mentioning- booked and paid for 3 tables, only 2 tables offered with 4 chairs, blankets given were wet, no supervising staff around to assist. We were under the impression that the session was one hour but in actual fact it was less then 45 mins (£20.50 pp) as we got on the ice at 7.05 and were rather forcefully ushered off at 7.45. Have done it once but won’t be going again. (the castle is very pretty). No attempt was made to clear the tremendous amount of water on the ice and the rink was very over-crowded.
Michael Swan: Staff amazing on entering and easy to access skates. Enjoyable time on the ice. A shame a little more water on ice than I’d have liked. Returning skates took a while.
sonya quinn: Packed like sardines but fun
kayla luo: Love it. So So So beautiful place and friendly people. Very helpful Pier's. I will BACK!!! Hahaha
Helena Chappell: Booked for 7 people and paid £118. Arrived on the day only to be told that the skate session had been cancelled due to problems with the ice rink. Staff were just standing around chatting looking completely disinterested in talking to visitors. Did not receive an email advising of the cancellation until half an hour later. Bit late! Emailed for a refund and received a response that only £115.50 was being refunded. See Tickets withholding their booking fee even though they cancelled - how Greedy and money grabbing!!!! , not only did I have a group of disappointed people, waste an hour and a half of my time in travel as well as having to pay for parking so why should I pay a booking fee for an event that was cancelled through no fault of mine??? Very shabby way to treat customers! Go elsewhere!!
Joshua Edgley: Received an email stating our session was cancelled for Christmas Eve, so we booked elsewhere. An hour later we received a email stating that it was sent as an error. We are now left with 2 bookings, and Hampton court ice skating do not have an easy way of contacting them to request they refund as it was their issue that has caused the double booking. This is the response from see tickets, it should be noted that there quick response was an hour from the initial cancellation email.Thank you for contacting See Tickets,We apologise that an email was sent to you in error stating that your ticketshad been refunded. We quickly sent a follow up email to confirm this email hadbeen sent in error and to ignore the content of the email. As the event is scheduled to go ahead as planned no refund will be consideredas per terms and conditions of sale.Kind regards,See Tickets Customer Services
