DSLR Photography Courses London: what do users think?
Olivia Busby: I recently attended a 6 hour 1-2-1 course with Katerina which was fantastic! Lots of practical exercises both inside and outside which helped me to understand how to photograph in all different types of light. Learning about the best lighting and equipment to use and how to use them was also really valuable.Katerina was a great support throughout the day and I was really impressed with her knowledge and experience. I'm really pleased to have come away feeling much more confident using the camera in manual mode.A superb course, highly recommend!
Camilla Pugliese: I recently attended the Intensive Beginners course which I really enjoyed! It was exactly what I was looking for to get a bit more comfortable with the different modes and functions on my camera. It was the perfect theory to practical ratio too :). Would highly recommend for beginners!
Stephane Talleux: The Beginners Photography Course was fantastic. The number of participants (6 max) allows you to share experience and to use one another as "models" to play with shots, angles, lenses and light. The course is easily accessible with a large amount of practical sessions in the studio where you have little model to practise the depth of field, the focus etc. It gives you the confidence to go out and play with your camera. Aga, the professional photographer, was extremely helpful and explained technical aspects very clearly, taking us step by step. There was plenty of opportunity to ask questions, query anything that we did not understand first time round. I thoroughly enjoyed my day and cannot wait to have the opportunity to put into practice what I have learnt. During the course you are issued with a booklet highlighting some of the aspects of the course. It is also useful as a reminder of what you have learnt. After the course you also received a very thorough PDF file with everything covered in the course that you can revisit at your leisure and serve you as a guide, should you have forgotten some aspects of the course. The course is designed to help you find the confidence to move away from the programmes built-in your camera and explore the manual setting and become more creative with your camera. A very worthwhile course.
Amanda P: Recently attended the Intensive Beginners course which really helped me understand my camera on manual mode. The course was detailed but Georgia made it easy to follow answering all our questions and stopping to help us whenever needed. There was plenty of time to try out what we were learning as the day went on especially as the group size wasn’t too big. I can thoroughly recommend it.
Ashleigh Quinn: I thoroughly enjoyed the beginner's photography course! Giorgia was a brilliant teacher and the amount we learned in one day exceeded my expectations. Thank you very much for a great day. I highly recommend it.
Katherine “Katie” Barretta: The beginners course was exactly what I was looking, I now feel much more confident using my camera and controlling the settings. Thank you.
Louise B: Very informative. Feeling a lot more confident with my camera now. Giorgia and Roland were very helpful.
Alice-Anne England: I attended the beginners half-day course as an introduction to using my new DSLR Canon camera with Aga.She was fantastic, she has great energy and I learnt so much! My camera skills have improved dramatically. I would definitely recommend taking the course.I also booked another one to one session with Aga to learn how to take portraits in a studio setting, she taught me how to create the images I wanted to create on a professional level, through the correct lighting set up. I gained so much valuable knowledge that I am now using today. I plan to book more sessions in the near future!
Bronya Seifert: Such an amazing 4 hours! I learnt so much! The course was relaxed, informal and highly informative. Roland spent time with each person and explained their individual cameras to them. He is highly knowledgeable, but with a kind and gentle way of teaching.
Keira Snelus: I attended the beginner's photography and Lightroom course earlier this month and couldn't recommend them enough. The courses were both great and the instructors couldn't have been more helpful. They both went above and beyond and tailored certain bits of the course to help me achieve my goal of taking and editing work headshots.
David Walker-Smith: I had a six-hour course with Roland. We spent about 90 minutes having a sit-down seminar, with the remaining time (actually 5 hours plus) spent wandering around St James Park, Trafalgar Sq etc, putting all Roland's tips into practice. The course was immensely valuable, and has improved my skills immediately, not just in terms of composing and taking photographs to achieve maximum effect, but also how to complement my improved photography with more complex post-processing. Roland is very experienced and knowledgeable; he articulates the things he wants to convey clearly without "talking down" at all; he is flexible on content and will happily explore any particular issues or questions that I raised; and he is easy to be with. I completely recommend this course to other DSLR users.
Santana Z: My partner and I had a private tuition session with Roland which was honestly brilliant. We arrived with very limited knowledge (typical ‘all the gear and no idea’) and learnt an incredible amount through theory and practice. Roland was very knowledgable and passionate about teaching us as much as possible (from best practices to answering all of our questions). We are very grateful for Roland’s help which we found invaluable. Worth every penny. Thank you Roland!
Stuart Greenfield: Drawing inspiration from an exhibition of landscape photography during a recent trip to the south coast, I decided to renew my interest in photography. Having not practised it in any meaningful way for many years I wanted to hit the ground running. After spending a good deal of time poring through camera reviews before making a purchase I finally settled on a Fujifilm X-S10. Of course, when it arrived it quickly became apparent that I had little or no idea how to use it to best effect! Consequently, my next round of research and reviews was centred upon training solutions. This is where I found DSLR, which seemed to tick all the boxes i.e. courses matched to level of experience/expertise, easy location to access, duration and value for money.Joining instructions were comprehensive and easy to follow meaning I arrived in the right place at the right time with no drama. Together with the other five students we were met by the very personable Roland and immediately offered tea and coffee. What followed was one of the most informative and enjoyable day's course I have had the pleasure of attending. Roland is knowledgeable, patient and above all; a thoroughly likeable guy!Once I have a little pratice under my belt I fully intend to return for the intermediate course.
Genetta Aprilante: Great course! Thank you Roland for making the Lightroom Classic course easy to follow and explaining how Lightroom works. There were so many features which I would never have known about, and I couldn't wait to implement what I learnt. The course notes and short-cut keys are an added bonus. Very useful! This is the third DSLR Photography course I've booked. I like the small groups and parking is so convenient. Definitely recommend to anyone who wants to move forward with their photo editing skills. Thank you again!
Oliver Cassel: I attended the beginners course as a gift and learned a huge amount. Being a novice I barely knew how to use my camera at the start of the day, but thanks to Roland's expert teaching, felt much more comfortable knowing how to get the best from it by the end of the day and was able to take some great shots. The course was a perfect mix of theory and practical exercises and Roland was able to support us throughout the day and answer our questions. I thoroughly recommend this course to anyone beginning out with photography, you won't be disappointed. One of the best training courses I've ever attended. Thanks so much Roland.
mike nick: best courses I've done ,very professionally stuff,
Katie Meakes: Our company booked a photography session with Ronald and I honestly couldn't recommend them enough. Being a complete novice I had a DSLR camera I would set on auto, point and shoot. Ronalds teaching was clear, concise and he allowed us to learn by "doing", physically allowing us to see how different settings had different effects on the image and allowing us to understand what we needed to change to get the perfect shot. If I could give more stars I would and I'll definitely be booking their next course soon!
P G: This was a really informative course and has motivated me to use my DSLR more often. Roland was extremely helpful, the pace of the course was exceptionally well.
Carly Giles: I've tried various ways to learn photography and how to use my camera in the past and it has never stuck. I can honestly say, after doing this course, it has stuck this time! Aga is a great teacher and really explained everything so clearly. It helped to practice what was being taught straight away, and Aga guided us through the whole time. I really enjoyed the course and I would highly recommend it.
jane fellner: Excellent course, I learnt a lot very quickly with an engaging tutor. Highly recommend.
Matthew Crawford: I attended the Travel Photography course as I use my camera a lot when travelling and wanted to know how to take the best pictures with my DSLR. I absolutely loved the course and learnt a lot of Roland before we had even got out and about to practice. I’d 100% recommend this course to anyone with a DSLR. Roland is an excellent teacher and I had a lot of fun throughout the day. Thank you!
