Visitors can expect to find a versatile range of things to see and do in a special family and community atmosphere. The park covers around 250 acres and includes a new 36-hole mini-golf course, a fun park, sports areas, and plenty of open space for visitors to walk, run, exercise, and relax.

School trips and other parties can book educational talks, pond dipping sessions, and woodland exploration activities with the Park Ranger Service. This allows them to get a real insight into how the natural world works.

There is a 16th Century Golden Lion Inn timbered house located on-site, as well as a 1906 granite and bronze memorial to the fallen of the Second Boer War by Albert Toft. The River Rea also passes through the western edge of the park, the river on which Birmingham was founded in the 7th century by the Beorma tribe.

Visitors can enjoy walking, jogging, and cycling routes at the park. There is also a free 5-kilometre parkrun event held every Saturday morning, as well as a 2-kilometre children's park run on Sunday mornings. Additionally, there is an ornamental lake for fishing and boating sessions.

There are toilets in the tea rooms and at the MAC. Visitors can also find lots of parking spaces, space to play football and rounders, and a picnic area with clean tables and bins. A pay and play fun pass is needed for certain attractions at the park.
