Anne Noreen: I am absolutely disgusted at the service that I have experienced at this toy shop, I was accused of stealing when I had not, the man working behind the counter approached me not asking if I need any assistance but straight up asking me 'can you open your bag?', I was shocked and distraught. Though I knew I didn't steal I still showed him my bags that I had in my hand for his satisfaction, still having shown my bags he was adamant that I had stole something and kept asking me which made me very uncomfortable and afraid of him as he stood idol infront of me, I was alone with my younger sister in the shop there was no one else in there but two large guys who were the workers standing there accusing me. I was no longer interested in shopping anymore and made my way out, he then called my younger sister saying 'come back' which was the limit and I shouted at her to leave as the atmosphere was turning out to be very unusual, there was no apology, never again will I visit this shop and make sure family and friends don't visit either. I don't recommend this shop to anyone especially because of the way I had been treated and if you do visit this shop DON'T GO ALONE!

Fi's Emails: Bought a few models and stuff today the two chaps in the shop were very helpful and welcoming even gave me a freebie of a pot of glue to use on my arc-170 clone fighter,thanks lads will be back to buy more in the near future.
neil smith: Cool shop that has recently had the upstairs opened, they have a good range of Lego and collectible dolls etc...I often go there for a look as the stock is constantly turning over....friendly, chatty staff too.

Charlotte Luck: Bought a child's bike- ex-display model so slightly discounted. My expectations of ex-display is maybe marked, scuffed etc but still in working condition. Both tires were flat so asked for them to be pumped up. Shop staff said they would be and they would do a full check on the bike. 2 days later the back tire is flat, clearly a puncture. The child had been at his dad's house during this time and not even ridden the bike yet. I phoned the store and told them the bike they sold me has a puncture and was asked to bring it back so they could look at it and fix it. This was a Monday evening and earliest I could return with work hours and their opening times was Saturday, so I told them would return Saturday morning. Returned the bike as soon as the store opened, the staff member pumped it up then checked again after 10 mins and confirmed it did have a puncture and they would repair it for me. She then told me it would not be ready until Monday. She took my number and said as soon as it was repaired someone would call me Monday.Lunchtime on Monday I call the store to get an update as to when it will be ready. It wont be done today it will be done tomorrow morning, the manager will do it themselves before the store is open.Half term week and one child is without a bike. I could have repaired it myself in way less time but I don't expect to have to repair a brand new product.So I spoke to a manager, who was very polite in tone but told me they didn't have any bike build staff working Sat or Sun and had been way too busy to do it today. He said he didn't know where I got the idea it would be ready Monday, his staff member is right here and did not tell me Monday she just told me someone would call me when it was done.At this point I had enough of his lies. She clearly told me Monday, if she had not I would had asked for when I could collect before leaving it at the store. Had I known it would be more than 3 days to repair a puncture I would have asked for a refund then. They had the bike and my money and were going to repair it at their leisure. Told the manager I wanted my money back.I drove over to the store got my refund and went elsewhere to purchase a bike. The child is now happily riding his new bike from somewhere else, maybe the one they refunded me will be repaired tomorrow?
Zoe M: Rang the merry hill store after my sons gaming geobook laptop for Christmas wouldn’t hold charge, unless plugged in the mains.Spoke to Jason who advised to bring it to store for them to look at.Took it to the store, greeted by Jason at the till who plugged it in straight away and confirmed it was faulty.He gave me all the options of ways I could return it/refund/exchange.I wanted to exchange, but this was an exclusive online item, and the price had know increased by £100 online.The store manager Shane came, advised I would need to do an online return, where it could be exchanged for a new one at the price I paid.But instead of sending me away to do it myself, Shane rang the Returns/Support number in store & explained the situation. All I had to give them (Jess) was my original order reference no. & in seconds another was arranged on a next day delivery to my home address and I’d received an email with all the details.Left the faulty one with them in store.Wasn’t expecting it to arrive next day as this was now 1:00pm in store BUT 11:00am next day it had arrived with us.Fantastic service from all staff at smyths and courier.Jason,Shane & Jess & DPD !Thank you.

Jessica Fereday: Avoid this store! The general manager is the worst manager I’ve came across asked him to help with the return of something he wasn’t interested in helping. He could have helped but just chose not to. Smyths need to think of who they’re hiring for management if that manager represents this store I would avoid at all costs. No customer service worse manager I’ve experienced!!! If I could give 0 stars I would!!

B2B T: Terrible customer service. Imagine queuing for 10 minutes to buy 4 sets of cheap headphones at £6.99 each only to get to the till and be told "no no no." No what? I didn't get any clear response, what did I do? Is it my colour? What? "bulk buy bulk buy." Really, 4 cheap head sets? What were they limited edition or something? Honestly, I'll never go there again. I visited my local at Solihull and had no issue. God forbid someone has more than one child. Idiots!

Bummpy: One of the worst shopping experiences I've ever had, absolutely abysmal security, I was marginalised due to my age and was followed by security all through the store. On entry I was stopped by the """security guard""" and was questioned on my reason for visit, I should not have to explain myself whenever I enter a store due to my age, I was then informed of cctv and sent on my way, as I met up with my friends inside the store we were stopped and informed it was "unfair" that there were so many if us, even though there were multiple other families in the store at the time. In the end I had to leave due to the constant pressure of the security, who had no right to pressure us in that way, I honestly don't think the security know how to do their job. Not professional at all, this is not the first time this guard in particular has done this and I feel smyths need to consider who they have on their security team, I am appalled as to how me and many others have been treated in this store.
Henry Foster: Absolutely disgraced with smyths, been going since I was a kid and always enjoyed going in there, however now I’m a teenager each and every time I go in me and my friends are stopped by the security guard at the front and questioned if we are “buying or browsing” it’s always us that get stopped, I always get watched the the security guard as I go round the store and don’t feel comfortable when shopping, the dude even once asked if we had bought anything as we were leaving and I believe if my friend hadn’t had actually bought something he would have stopped and searched out bags. Don’t wanna go in anymore all because of him.
The Child: Security “Guard” couldn’t quite grasp the idea that teenagers wish to spend money on Funko Pops and not cause chaos, because as we all know that’s the only characteristic that defines a teenager…
Vibe Check: Every time me and my companions enter this establishment, we are halted by the security guard on the front door. This is most likely due to our age and bad stigma around teenagers, however it is every time we go in and honestly, it is making us nervous to shop at Smyth's.

BHX BHX: Marie in the baby department deserves a special mention. Her customer service is exceptional. Super friendly and attentive, and proactive in engaging and communicating without being overbearing. Marie also let us try some of the baby travel systems and demonstrated the features. We will be back to the store especially because of her amazing help.

Neil: Super busy queuing out of the store. Great place for customisable soft toys if that's your thing. A wide range of soft toys of all shapes and sizes and related outfits. Friendly and helpful staff.
Jenni-Emily: Very expensive, low quality stuffed animals. You are basically paying for the spectacle and drama of watching it being filled in store but the teddies are not great quality, nor are the 'accesories' and its super overpriced for the finished product!
