Paul McCairn: Decided to send them my ride-on lawnmower for a service. Worst decision ever. Quality of service was poor. On collection, I pointed out that the worn belt would need to be replaced. Product came back with existing belt in situ. After using the first time, belt failed. Hard to see what I paid £150 for ? Expensive blade sharpening process - and possible oil change - who knows ? In the absence of a "tick sheet" - I have no idea what was done - and why it took nearly 8 weeks to get "finished". I emailed the Manager - nothing back. They obviously don't need your business. Don't use.
Matthew Shiels: I dropped two chainsaws off for a service on the 12th February. Upon discussion with the member of staff behind the till I was advised 8-10 days I should have them back. As of today, the 12th May I have had one saw back.I rang multiple times and was promised a call back from the maintenance team and got nothing. I eventually went in and was advised they were in bits and being worked on. I again chased for an updated after a number of weeks via phone and was again promised call backs that I never received. I was advised they had been out sourced for repair when I eventually went in to the store again and they’d be back asap and you were experiencing a particularly busy period - I can completely understand this but, you never communicated this to me until I pushed on why it was taking so long.I rang the store again 14th April and was advised one saw had been back a couple of days and I could collect it (I am still unsure why no one called me to say it was ready and realistically how long it would have sat there if I hadn’t rang).I was advised my other saw was beyond repair however, I asked for it back to strip for parts - I was told it would be back in the store in a few days. I visited the store again the following week and was advised you’d call when it had come back in. I chased again 10th May with a phone call and was promised a call back, to the 12th May I’ve still not had that call back…. Again. For the 4th-5th time.From start to finish the customer service has been appalling. I’ve actually lost faith I will ever see the one saw again. I’ve shopped in the store for a number of years but, after this incident I think I’ll take my custom elsewhere and would advise others to do the same.

Andrew Cutler: I just had the worst customer service I have ever experienced from this company. Admittedly I ordered the wrong product (Auto cut heads for a Stihl strimmer), however I asked for advice on which the correct parts were and how to return the ones I had received. I was told to look for a date of manufacture on my strimmer. I did this and phoned again a week later saying I could not find find a date as the sticker I assumed contained the date was illegible. The person I spoke to was extremely unhelpful and suggested I take the strimmer to a Stihl agent who would be able to provide me with a date. I asked if he could process the return for me and was told to email his office to find out if they would accept the products back. Why did he even bother answering the phone??? Absolutely useless!
S Knight: Brought a portable air conditioner for my house today from this place had no choice but to use these guys as everywhere else they are sold out. Product is generally good but the customer service and employees at this place are absolutely useless no product knowledge whatsoever and very unhelpful called up as needed abit of advice and help all the guy said was “don’t know, read the instructions” everytime I l asked a question he quoted the same again! terrible service would advise you do your own research on any products and don’t bother wasting your time with these guys They are pathetic no wonder they still had stock.

I asked for size 6 trainers today the man gave me them in a box telling they’re size 6 just to find out from the cashier that they were actually a size 5 but luckily they went and found the actual size 6 for me.. so that’s one thing to thank them for!

Keith Spokes: Travelled 30 minutes, arrived 10 minutes before advertised closing time to be told I couldn’t go in. Don’t advertise your Sunday closing time at 5 pm if you don’t let anyone in after 4.50pm. If you have to close entry at 4.50pm then advertise it as such!
Neil Samuels: Is this place under new management? I used to frequent sports direct in merry hill quite often, so when I went there this weekend I was shocked at how things have gone downhill. There were 2 tills open with a queue of around 30 customers. There was clearly surplus staff on the shop floor that could have assisted, I did suggest this and was told that it had already been suggested to management, but yet I had to wait 15 minutes to make my purchase. I am also disgusted with the explicit music that was being played. Do these places not have a radio friendly playlist?Anyway, I think that's my last visit there for the near future.
Marie Rhodes-Brown: Very poor customer service whilst looking at trainers with my children. Lack of interest in customers , no alternative choice offered when sizes unavailable. Lady on the til was friendly but the shop floor staff are obviously not bothered about their job, customers are seen as a hindrance! Good prices on stock but that's about it . Awful.

Caitey Bennet: I came in to enquire about some shoes and see if they had my size in the ones I was interested in. I was stood around waiting whilst the one person checking shoe sizes was busy with a large group. I decided to ask another member of staff and she rudely told me she couldn’t check the size for me because she wasn’t working in that area at that time. So I was expected to wait for however long instead of her checking for me or then getting another member of staff on. I was so disappointed and will not return. Majority of the staff here are so miserable and I’m sure that they aren’t like this as people, maybe the store don’t treat them right but it was just an awful experience. Please train your staff further and ensure they’re happy to be at work because the attitude and vibe of the store was poor

Ashley Ali: I would give it less than 1 star but I can't, I paid for a pair of trainers came back home and the girl on the counter charged me twice, so I came back told her what she'd done and asked for a refund the refund was done but I didn't even get an apology, even if I checked the receipt there and then it would still take 3-5 working days for the money to go back in my account and because I've been there today which is a Saturday it's going to take longer, now I'm over drawn so thanks sportsdirect, I know they don't get paid that much but manners don't cost nothing

Helen Williams: Absolutely disgusted with the customer service and attitude of all the staff that work in this awful store. So rude, unhelpful and need a lesson in how to treat customers. I bought s number of swim shorts for my husband, none of them fit correctly as there didn't seem to be enough material around the legs. I spoke to the assistant, rude and unhelpful. No refund only credit note. Spike to another two members of staff who called themselves manager s but I don't think they were. No refund unless item faulty. How can they get away with is policy. £68 credit note given but in the future I will not be shopping there again. Staff couldn't care less about how they treat you and the items your buying. Close the store down.

L.J ForMeToKnow: We purchase trainers for the kids probably 3 time a year here. Last wk a teenaged staff member called Liam with an attitude that stunk left me unimpressed. Liam checked my sons new trainers and literally rammed them in the box, did sort the paper, the laces nothing. I told him I am paying for this item, the least you could do is place it back as you found it. Not rough it up and ram in it. It's like the shoe pee'd him off or angered him. I was completely annoyed at this action. Other staff would not help me speak to the manager.

Why they don’t understand that their wages depends on customers, so why they don’t be nice to customers. I bought couple pairs of trainers on 10th of November 2022 at 14:45 pm and in reply I didn’t receive thanks or anything. I gave the time just to let the owner know which lady staff was on the time at the till. I will never go back to JD sports Mander center. 😡

itzel mendoza: The communication with this company is so BAD it is beyond belief. Never have I ever dealt with a company with as poor customer service as this one.I placed an order with the Sports Shop in April. I talked to the owner, Grant, who very gently approved that he knew what he was doing. After that, they ignored my emails and phone calls. I even went to the shop a couple of times and was given no answers. It took them two months to finally tell me the truth on the phone: they couldn't do my order!This left me behind on work; I wasted two months of my time. They had a piece of fabric I dropped off two months earlier, which I obviously needed back after being let down. I had no response about it either! I got blanked again for a couple of weeks until they said they had it and told me to pick it up. I went to the shop, and they tried to hand me something completely different and lied, saying that was what I gave them. I literally gave up.They not only let me down badly, but they also lost my fabric and didn't even offer to pay for it. DISAPPOINTING! Don't waste your time.

Not a bad thing for the shop, but for a customer can be a frustrating wait when things take too long to find in the array of boxes lying on the floor.

They knew what was mandatory and what was optional (the list published by the school for parents didn't specify) saving me £60 compared to me buying everything online from them. Kit printed up whilst we waited for 10 minutes. Knocked a star off as they didn't have the socks or swimming costume in stock so will need to go back next week.

Price I paid for one item OK, glad I could order online!
