I asked for size 6 trainers today the man gave me them in a box telling they’re size 6 just to find out from the cashier that they were actually a size 5 but luckily they went and found the actual size 6 for me.. so that’s one thing to thank them for!

Keith Spokes: Travelled 30 minutes, arrived 10 minutes before advertised closing time to be told I couldn’t go in. Don’t advertise your Sunday closing time at 5 pm if you don’t let anyone in after 4.50pm. If you have to close entry at 4.50pm then advertise it as such!
Neil Samuels: Is this place under new management? I used to frequent sports direct in merry hill quite often, so when I went there this weekend I was shocked at how things have gone downhill. There were 2 tills open with a queue of around 30 customers. There was clearly surplus staff on the shop floor that could have assisted, I did suggest this and was told that it had already been suggested to management, but yet I had to wait 15 minutes to make my purchase. I am also disgusted with the explicit music that was being played. Do these places not have a radio friendly playlist?Anyway, I think that's my last visit there for the near future.
Marie Rhodes-Brown: Very poor customer service whilst looking at trainers with my children. Lack of interest in customers , no alternative choice offered when sizes unavailable. Lady on the til was friendly but the shop floor staff are obviously not bothered about their job, customers are seen as a hindrance! Good prices on stock but that's about it . Awful.

Caitey Bennet: I came in to enquire about some shoes and see if they had my size in the ones I was interested in. I was stood around waiting whilst the one person checking shoe sizes was busy with a large group. I decided to ask another member of staff and she rudely told me she couldn’t check the size for me because she wasn’t working in that area at that time. So I was expected to wait for however long instead of her checking for me or then getting another member of staff on. I was so disappointed and will not return. Majority of the staff here are so miserable and I’m sure that they aren’t like this as people, maybe the store don’t treat them right but it was just an awful experience. Please train your staff further and ensure they’re happy to be at work because the attitude and vibe of the store was poor
Stephen Cresswell: Brought two pairs of trainers when I asked for the shaq ones the person getting them went to his mate and started laughing shaq originally made his shoes to be affordable for families in Walmart USA and then you get two people on almost basic wages making fun out of someone buying them I love the shop and the prices but these two let the experience down today
Ashley Ali: I would give it less than 1 star but I can't, I paid for a pair of trainers came back home and the girl on the counter charged me twice, so I came back told her what she'd done and asked for a refund the refund was done but I didn't even get an apology, even if I checked the receipt there and then it would still take 3-5 working days for the money to go back in my account and because I've been there today which is a Saturday it's going to take longer, now I'm over drawn so thanks sportsdirect, I know they don't get paid that much but manners don't cost nothing

Helen Williams: Absolutely disgusted with the customer service and attitude of all the staff that work in this awful store. So rude, unhelpful and need a lesson in how to treat customers. I bought s number of swim shorts for my husband, none of them fit correctly as there didn't seem to be enough material around the legs. I spoke to the assistant, rude and unhelpful. No refund only credit note. Spike to another two members of staff who called themselves manager s but I don't think they were. No refund unless item faulty. How can they get away with is policy. £68 credit note given but in the future I will not be shopping there again. Staff couldn't care less about how they treat you and the items your buying. Close the store down.

L.J ForMeToKnow: We purchase trainers for the kids probably 3 time a year here. Last wk a teenaged staff member called Liam with an attitude that stunk left me unimpressed. Liam checked my sons new trainers and literally rammed them in the box, did sort the paper, the laces nothing. I told him I am paying for this item, the least you could do is place it back as you found it. Not rough it up and ram in it. It's like the shoe pee'd him off or angered him. I was completely annoyed at this action. Other staff would not help me speak to the manager.

Mr A: Great store for many sports, huge ranges and suitable for people at different levels of sport from beginners to pros, also go to for outdoor activities mainly for us football cycling and scooters, we have bought multiple bikes and scooters from this store for the kids, so it’s only normal when they come to store they want to ride the bike that’s like “theirs”, staff are very polite and welcoming makes for a more enjoyable shop especially with two toddlers, will be returning as always

Chachki x: Spent 20 minutes looking for a member of staff so I could try some trainers on. Every time I saw a staff member and they saw me walking towards them they would quickly walk away acting as if they didn’t see me. In the end I just stood there waiting for them to come to me, one lady just stood behind the shoes staring at me. Took them a further 10 minutes to bring the shoes out to me but by then I couldn’t be bothered to waste money there

Dal: Prices are ok, but stock is very hit and miss. They seem to just have replica football kits for the same small handful of clubs in stock. They have some good equipment for cricket and golf though. Also useful for well priced branded running shoes and trainers. Two floors but they've really crammed in the shelves so can be a bit of a maze when it's busy, having to squeeze past people.

Andrew Welsh: Bought trunks and realised they were not needed they would only offer credit instead of a refund even tho I bought day before. When I took all the receipts I had been give back In to claim credit they said the credit receipt was not one of the ones I had so they couldn't honour it. Think they give credit knowing there will be problems and that 50 of all credit will not be claimed just seem very anti consumer

Lee Hopkins: Ground floor is always hectic and staff don't bother helping customers, always refer you to another member of staff and this carries on. There is also a lot of confusion among the staff members when it comes to checking trainer size availability.

I tried on 3 tops all okay till I got to the till on ground floor.I couldn't have the 2 tops labelled up 2 for £14 doesn't say anything else except 2 for £14 Not same style or colour so I left empty handed never too return.Don't bother with them rude lady on till so lost a sale and we won't be returning for our trainers we were going back to buy. !If something doesn't fit you can exchange or get a credit note so beware.

There was about four staff members all looking for the same order for a customer, rather than using some initiative and one of those four jumping on a till to serve the building que of customers!Very young staff with not much in the way of social skills, initiative or common sense! Will not be wondering in to here again!
Mr T: Don't bother shopping here you wait forever for your shoes to arrive to try them on and then you have to wait for the shoes to arrive at the counter, staff can't be bothered when asked where they are,
Jola Dyar: Poor customer service, no respect for customers especially if you are foreigner bought shoe for £90 I returned for exchange as it was a bit small but they refused and staff send me to lady I think she was manger but she was very rude and disrespect, the mistake was done by staff 2 days before they didn't issue me correct receipt for the shoes which I had.

Went in for a pair of trainers, eventually got a staff members attention, asked for a size 10, only to be told they only have an 8, do I want them?Err, no. I'm a size 10. Looked at another pair, asked again for a size 10. 5 minutes later the staff member came back with a different style & size.That's when I decided it's time to leave.
