Derwent Language Solutions: what do users think?
Jacob McCollin: I had Louise as a Spanish tutor for over a year and it was one of the best decisions I made. I achieved a grade 9 in GCSE Spanish in 2018 and this would not have been possible without her. Her lessons were always fun and enjoyable and she ensured that I understood each topic thoroughly. As a person, Louise is warm, bubbly and cares about her students and so I was able to build a good bond with her quickly. I highly recommend Louise to anyone wishing to achieve the best possible grades or looking to improve on their language skills.
Alison Smyth: My daughter has been learning French with Louise for a few years now. She was quite worried just before her GCSE exams, but Louise spent extra time with her, reassuring her and re-visiting areas that she felt concerned about. She has a very kind and caring approach and her patience is exactly what my daughter needed.
Rosie Cooper: I have been learning Spanish with Louise since February and I already feel really confident and immersed in the language. She is a fabulous, funny and kind teacher who is extremely knowledgable in her subjects - Spanish and French. I would definitely recommend her to those looking to improve their language skills.
Shauna bennett: such a lovely lady & is very talented with languages! i have had lou as my spanish tutor for a few years now and she makes it extremely enjoyable ๐Ÿ˜Š

The Language Gallery Birmingham: what do users think?
MR BLOBBY ! ! !: A language gallery in birmingham. Sounds about right, now all you need is a stolen car gallery.
Noosh Traveling: It is a waste of time and nothing to gain. I wasted 3 months, benefited little and spent my money wasted in this school. There is clear racism against complaining about teachers. In the end, you become the one who is at fault. In addition, they are very materialistic. They do not help students learn, they just want money to serve you. My advice is if you want to study to attend university do not waste your time here while if you just want to learn for yourself it may be good.
Stรฉphane Pereira: Positive:Professionalism,QualityAtmosphere is good everyone talks to you and help you learn, the teacher helps the student to learn and helps to understand I spend my best time learning English and meeting good people

Marie L: I spent some weeks in this school in birmingham. Amazing experience! very nice and helpful teachers who care about your well being, friendly and motivated students. Everything is fine to make you feel comfortable and learn together.I already had a great level but the classes were adapted. we can learn very useful english about daily conversation and debating but also more academic vocabulary dealing with politics or business. I highly recommend this school !
Brunilda Ismaili: I spent one month there to improve my score in IELTS exam. The staff and teachers are really friendly, but I was disappointed with my score at Ielts. I realise that this is a business they do not tell you all the key points to achieve the desirable score, I even took private lessons after for one week but the teacher wasn't so professional as I was expected. It's a business they don't want you to get the score straight away they want you to come back to continue to pay them for having fun. The amount of money they get it's extraordinary of course they will be friendly with you and make you happy, you pay them..... For the amount of money I spent there I expected higher professional standards of teaching. However I gain nice memories and met new people.
Nabil Fikri: Great school ! Met lot of friends there. Interesting experiences!
Laura Gonzรกlez: Studying in TLG has been one of the best experience in my life! This school helps me to improve my language with incredible teachers and classmates but also it gave me the opportunity to met amazing people from around the world and travel to different places through the UK. I'll totally recommend TLG to study and to expirience unforgettable moments!
Behal Youcef: I spent a month in this language school and I highly recommend !!! The teachers are very attentive, competent and really nice. The entire team is always available to answer your questions and help you. I have nice meetings with students from all over the world. Thank you all :) See you :)
Bilge Demircan Mikyas: The best language school ever! Iโ€™ve had such a great experience. Teachers are amazing and they are working really hard for the students. Iโ€™ll miss everybody!
Alanoud Alyazeedi: My time at TLG was the most empowering, joyful and inspiring experience of my life. it was a very positive learning time and one which has encouraged me to explore other cultures cause I realized that there is a much bigger world out there and that the British people have a very rich , proud culture that most people would enjoy learning about . I was able to improve my level of English to the point that I can carry on a conversation which allows me to express myself with some emotions and personality (even though I express myself better through writing rather than physically) .Not to mention the fact that I got a really high score in the IELTS test that exceeded my expectations and Iโ€™m sure those big achievements wonโ€™t be real without being in this school .The teachers??...What can I say? I canโ€™t even describe how amazing they are enough ..As a student, many teachers and educators have passed through my life without remeberanc. Yet, a special few have left a lasting impression on me . Those are the TLG (Birmingham) teachers . They will live on forever in my mind and heart . I may sound so dramatic, but if there were a Nopel prize for The Best Teachers, Iโ€™m sure they would get it. I hope one day they would read this so they can know how much I did appreciate them and will always keep remembering them .
Sh8RdYz: A perfect school to learn English and meet students from different culture. Excellent teachers !! They are so friendly and helpful. Iโ€™m glad that i was one of the TLG students for 9 months ! Best experience ever. ๐Ÿ’™
Aisha Outama: Excellent Teachers And Amazing Experience. Need to come Back soon inshaAllah.
im_ ornella: I am a former student of TLG my experience was just wonderful. Teachers are devoted, patience and friendly, it has a really good atmosphere for learn and meet great people. I recommend you this school well deserve with shop and restaurant around ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜
Andrew Nesbitt: I've recently just completed my first Spanish course, Fantastic tutors Silvia and zoe, great value, extremely helpful staff especially Jenni the office manager lovely lady very helpful. The whole experience was a pleasure. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
michele parolin: Best school ever! Amazing teachers and staff. I came with one goal and I got it thanks to everyone in the school. The students are great and from many countries so it's a great international experience! I never studied English before but in 4 months, I passed the IELTS score I wanted!
Sakariye Muktar: I like it
Oksana Ralko: If you want to learn English and at the same time to get pleasure this school is exactly the place to attend. Thank you so much for all you have done for me!
Alice Onisto: Amazing experience, wonderful world wide students and great teachers!I couldn't ask anything better!

Brasshouse Languages: what do users think?
wayne h: I learnt a lot, it was very fun and engaging. The teacher is very high quality. The material given is clearly developed over time.It is a safe environment. The guidance is professional. The administration staff are experienced and polite.
Shuk B: I have had a horrific experience here. Became a target of hate on both the Podcasting course (Kanas Wong) & Digital Photography course (Mark Holloway). Both tutors made vulgar remarks in every sentence. Kanas included a case study & a presentation with implied nasty remarks. Some students were also instructed to make nasty remarks of 5 weeks! I have made 2 complaints both have been deliberately ignored! Neither tutor taught the course properly & Mark Holloway made sure I didnโ€™t receive the learning like the rest of the students! I had my enquiry about courses ignored. The marketing manager also made inappropriate digs. Management know the game they have been playing. I have been a target of hate crime by University of Birmingham, Birmingham MPs,, Conservative & Labour government, corrupt police.
Rukia Mohamoud: I was learning Chinese there last year . Such an amazing experience and competent teachers . Iโ€™ve learnt so much each term. Now Iโ€™m confident enough to talk to native Chinese speakers . Thank You to my teacher and the lovely staff at the front desk who always helped me with any query .
Denise James: Everything about this place and its staffs are great
Josef Al-Smadi: Tried to register last year and was told they didnโ€™t have any spaces. Tried again this year well in advance however their phone went to answerphone as no one picked up and I therefore emailed them and never received a response. Really poor service! Do they have anyone manning the phone and responding to emails?
Somaya Smeding: They provide awesome language lessons and more.
Giorgi Nadiradze: Positive:Quality
Jonathan Reuben Sarabadu: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,ValueBeen going here for years, teachers are great- I had Luc and Lucy. Its very sad that its closed but the online sessions have been good. Not enough students so the classes get shut down since its government subsidised. Shame really, until next time!
EBRU FILMS LIMITED: Went for a Russian course found the teacher to be extreamly rude & was bullied by her. I would not recommend anyone to join this course at Brasshouse. It is a waste of money & you will loose a lot of motivation. I would recommend Pimsleur or Micheal Thomas rather than being bullied every lesson & comming home disapointed. Also remember this is not a free course so I expected a lot of respect. So do you learn basic Russian on the beginners course?NO! You will be learning just how to read on the beginners course, if thats a A1 level for beginners, then thats another reason to avoid this place as reading is easy & its waste of money for 3 months straight, if you are only focussing on reading & not speaking. They dont even cover grammer & explain grammer so for it to be a extra helping class its pointless aswell. Even if they focus on speaking respect rate is very low sadly.
Esther S.O: Great customer service experience. I will soon start my german classes online
Sameer Mustafah Raza: A great place to study in peace and learn new things depending on your own pace. The teachers are very friendly and they offer great help through-out the week whenever you need it. The tutors do not behave like at secondary schools or colleges.I have been studying for 5 years at Brasshouse and I am deeply upset at its departure in August 2016, so it can merge with the useless Library of Birmingham.
R K: no esol course
Tom Baker: Extremely rude staff on reception. Do not expect to he treated like a human being. Dreadful.
Musta Magdi: Been calling all day and no on is answering, what a great first impression!
madaline rogers: Great for learning
Noeli Stephenson: Excellent way of teaching. Very enjoyable and the teachers are very dedicate. Lovely!
Ali Imdad: Currently learning mandarin there. Great teachers, very respectful staff. It's been about 6 months in now and I've had no issues. For the price of the course, I'd definitely reccomend it.
Dan Saalfeld (Saltfish): Birmingham City council why have you closed down (August 2018) what was a vibrant department for English language? Only four years ago when I studied a teaching qualification here there were many international students coming to improve their English and spend money in Birmingham ; up till recently I worked examining here and there always seemed to be demand for English language studying and exams. What is the rationale for closing this service and what message does it send to the world that the second city of England cannot provide an English language service for visitors and immigrants?
Elva James-Galloway: Teachers of the languages are excellent! Lessons are fun, detailed, interactive and properly paced
Albert TANG: (Updated 15/10/2018: After a year Brasshouse language still refuse to fully refund, i.e. ยฃ7,820.00, and apologise what they have done to us so far. And now they tried to delete my comment for fifth times. What they have done is an arrogant act and show no respect to the students. So DO NOT come to this language school, as this absolutely waste your time and money, and ruin your dignity!!!)After a miserable journey with Brasshouse Language, I think I should write something to express my feeling.First and the foremost is the Brasshouse always mentioned 'respect', that learner should respect tutor and staff. What I want to emphasize is respect is a mutual act, the prerequisite of earning respect is you behave yourself, then you can earn your respect. Employing delaying tactics, saying something with contradiction and having bias towards learners certainly is not a good way to earn respect from others. Yes, I am describing you, Paul J. Henderson, former deputy Head of English in Brasshouse Language.Secondly is the British always mention gentleman, sadly a Brasshouse Language tutor, Nick Johnson, harassed my sister in front of me. He absolutely overstepped his professional boundary between tutor and learner, intervened the relationship between learners. Come on man, this is ADULT Learning Centre! This is not a kindergarten! Then the method of allocation of learners into classes is the funniest I have ever seen. After the allocation, some learners can go to any higher level class by their will. Then what is the point of having placement test prior to the class? We have submitted our IELTS results but they just ignored our result and our will to get into the IELTS class, then putting us into the normal English class, which is merely a joke! Pauline Desch, do you know what is IELTS? It is a shame that Brasshouse Language have IELTS course but do not recognise any IELTS result. Moreover, the most unacceptable thing is another tutor, Raheel Mohammed, complain me openly (which I have done nothing at that particular moment) in the classroom and then ask Paul J. Henderson to send me off from the classroom, and then defame me I have done something not appropriate and complain the tutor. Come on, what the hell you are doing? Is this the usual way Brasshouse Language staffs dealing with the learners?Learning here is totally a waste of money and time. Though the thing that make me furious is Brasshouse Language only does not discriminate learners from CERTAIN countries, as stated in the written reply from Pauline Desch. As an language centre with so many international students, it is a helpless truth that Brasshouse Language will discriminate learners. I think this is also the reason why Birmingham always mentions it is a multicultural city, because discrimination exists! It happened! It really happened! And Brasshouse Language is an associate of the Birmingham City Council. I except discrimination only happened in uncivilized and barbaric city, maybe Birmingham can redefine my stereotype, or maybe the truth prevails. After our incidents, staffs from Brasshouse Language, Birmingham Adult Education Services and Birmingham City Council promised they will investigate the incidents. But till now nearly 100 days they do not have proper response. 100 DAYS!!! What kind of incident your sides need to spend so much time to investigate? Do I need to borrow you a microscope to facilitate your investigation? We wait for so long time, what we get is SIX reference number from Birmingham City Council. It seems that your side put so much effort on the rubbish bins issue to empty the rubbish bins, such that you all can hide in the rubbish bins to evade your responsibility. You all are well paid of it! Do you all really care our incidents and investigate seriously, or just get rid of our incidents as rubbish? In conclusion, do not come to Brasshouse Language, as they show 'the power of language', taking advantage of learners' low fluency of English and bullied you without mercy. It is a shame that they are working in education sector!
